Gods, Heroes & Villains

Summary:

Lizzy is a lone traveler who never stays in one place. However, she’s still young, which means she’s got plenty more places to go to and people to meet—friends to make. Will her next move be what leads her to these friends? Who knows!

Work Text:

Every story has to start somewhere and somewhen. How about with a nice setting, like an old bar in between villages for passing travelers for this one?. Perhaps lights in the corners of its wooden walls. A comfortable weather on a nice quiet night. A bartender with fire as his hair and tan skin, green eyes and leaves in his hair left untouched and completely unburnt, maybe he's talking with a dear customer that has light brown skin, white short hair, cyan eyes that glow in the dark, currently wearing a dark gray tank top along with ripped jeans. The customer probably goes to this bar a lot, since she's always traveling round and round. I think the bartender keeps talking about how she should find a place and people to stay with because she's always been so lonely. He thinks that company would be a good idea for travelers, but she says,

"Well I have you! That's gotta count for something, right? I'm sure we both consider each other friends, good friends even."

"Sure, we are good friends. But you need someone who's gonna be there at all times, you need someone that can help you in your travels!" He says warmly and a little louder. (In quiet nights like this, you have to cherish it by using the least of your voice so you can to keep the mood going)

"Yeah. Cool. But I can pretty much handle things on my own without the need for someone to be there at all times" she attempts to persuade as she leans on her back with her arms on the head of the chair.

"Mhm, still not convincing. Sigh Look, just promise you'll try to make friends. For me?" He pleads in between his friendly advice.

"Of course, I promise I'll find at least one friend in my journey" she says as she reaches her pinky to make a promise.

"You better" the bartender interlaces his own pinky with hers to seal the promise.

They let go of each other's pinkies and Lizzy announces her leave. Lizzy and Kilian wave goodbye to each other while the sun is near to rise. Kilian reaches for a tea cup beside him and sips as he sits down.

"I wish you very well my friend"

Lizzy takes her leave and walks towards where the sun should rise any minute now. She takes out a folded paper out of her wasted pocket written in a very messy handwriting. It’s a passport that allows her to cross through nation and kingdom borders. She unfolds it to check if it's still valid, looking for the validation

Notes:

This is an extremely short draft of a story that I’ve been thinking about for almost 7 years, I believe. I wrote this specific draft in 2022, which is now 4 years ago DAMN time flies by. I wanted to just get this out there and hopefully someone will read and say what they think about it. I hope that I’ll continue to work on this, I’m planning on this being a visual novel but either way I feel too deeply connected to this story to give up on it, I’ll do anything to make it be real.
