Chapter Text
It was Friday late in the night. The Morgan family sits in their living room, some looking more pleased than others.
Debra slouches down on the couch with a look of annoyance. Much to her dismay she had been grounded for sneaking out again. I mean she is just a young girl. She should be out clubbing or going to a party, something that’s actually fun but no, she’s forced to sit at home and with her dweeb of a brother and her dad.
Unlike Deb who would rather be anywhere but here, Dexter seems to be content with snacking on a sandwich completely oblivious to Debra’s sulking attitude.
Harry takes a sip of his beer watching a football match but with little to no interest still mad about Deb’s stupid decision.
Debra sight as she tilts her head back into the couch “ you know a girl of my age shouldn’t be forced to spend my fucking weekend trapped in this god forsaken house”
“Well maybe you should have thought of that before sneaking out” Harry retorts
“I wouldn’t have had to if anyone else in this house knew how to have fun” Debra counters why does he always seems to have a stick up his ass.She laughes at her little quip to herself before she voices her opinion. “Your the one with a stick up his ass”
Her father just stare’s. “language” he sighs knowing it’s no use as she has the mouth of a sailor.
Before they could argue more Dexter calls out to them “Dad, Deb!” If he had emotions he almost sounded distressed. because they were arguing they hadn’t even noticed an unnatural light softly glowing slowly consuming the room where they sit.
“Dad?” Debra looks back at him to the light.she slowly gets up from the couch, trying to comprehend what was happening
“Get behind me!” Harry snaps trying to protect his kids from the unknown light.
Both Dexter and Debra share a look of confusion no use to their father being so serious.
The light starts works its way across the room approaching them as it consumes everything it touches. No matter how many steps they take it just keeps following them.
They’re back into a corner, the whole room is now engulfed in light creeping towards them as they can do nothing but cower.
Debra grips her dads arm, terror written on her face. Dexter on the other hand tries to rationalize what happening”
The light washes over them. Harry tries to call out to no avail. They can’t hear him, they can't even see him.
Dexter's panicking he thinks though he’s not too sure he’s never really felt panic before. He tries to look at his dad but he can’t as it's too bright. He shields his eyes as the light gets brighter and brighter and he's forced to close his eyes.
“DEX!”
His head hurts. He can’t think. He doesn’t even remember where he is.
“DEXTER!” A voice shakes him from his slumber.
He groans before rubbing his eyes to shake the sleep from his body. When he opens his eyes he’s faced with his sister grabbing him by his shoulder as his father looming over him with a look of concern in his eyes.
He sits up trying to shake the sleep from his body. Taking in his surroundings he seems to be in a movie theatre not only that but even his coworkers are here.
Why are they here? His eyebrows furrow , trying to take in all the information he can get. trying to piece together what’s happening.
“Get your ass up” Debra hauls him back to his feet.
He can hear a group of people arguing even though he didn’t hear that start he does hear someone yelling at masuka.
“Masuka shut the fuck up!” He couldn’t tell who said that but knowing Masuka he probably deserved it.
Multiple voices overlap each other Dexter is unable to even tell what they are even arguing about.
“Everyone calm down, let's talk about this like rational adults!” Harry's voice cut through the noise. He’s fed up with this nonsense as apparently none of these detectives can communicate like proper humans.
The voices quiet down now all looking at Harry.
“Now that I have your guys attention, can we all just calm down and talk like adults”
“How about where are we?!” LaGuerta questions. “Or how could someone just kidnap civilians and detectives and no one notices?”
“I don’t know but if we all just calm down I’m sure we can figure this out” Harry responds as he looks around the room seeing a couple of civilians. “How about we all just introduce ourselves”
LaGuerta sighs defeated “ok, I’m Maria LaGuerta I’m a detective”
“I’m Angle Batista also a detective” he gives the people a small wave.
“I’m Vince masuka but you can just call me what ever would like” he says the last words aimed at the girls in the room.
“Ha in your dreams” Deb rolls her eyes “anyways the names Debra Morgan and here my dork brother he works forensics with the creep over there”she points to masuka in the last words.
Dexter gives a sheepish wave at his introduction
“And I’m their father Harry Morgan I’m also a detective” hearing those words a guy with curly hair eyes darken with disgust before the mask slips back into place.
“My name's Rita, it's nice to meet you” a blonde woman in a floral dress spoke.
“The names brian” when the guy spoke he didn’t even once take his eyes off Dexter.
The hairs on Dexter's neck stood up as the guys spoke. He didn’t know why but something about this guy made him uneasy. His smile seemed fake and he was eerily calm like this whole situation didn’t faze him.
For some reason Harry steps in front of Dexter, shielding him from the guy's view. “Stay away from my son” the harsh words didn’t even make the guy’s flinch
The others in the group look confused as to why Harry would just snap at a random stranger.
Harry turns to look at his kids with a serious expression “Don’t talk to him come to me if he tries” he doesn’t want this monster talking to his son and daughter.
Dexter just nod Debra on the other hand scoffs of course he’d stop her from flirting with a hot stranger.
“Well now that we’ve all introduced each other we should figure out why we’re here” laGuerta asks as if god himself was listening. The screen crackles to life as a booming voice shakes the room.
“Sit down all will be explained shortly”
Some people jump at the unexpected voice
“ what the fuck!” Deb inches closer to Dexter for comfort; the action doesn’t go unnoticed by Brian.
“Looks like we don’t have much of a choice” Dexter points out”
“Fuck that! where the door” as stubborn as always Debra shouts.
“There isn’t one” barista responds
“The fuck you mean” she retorts fed up with tha man’s vague words”
“I mean there’s no door no chance to escape”
Seeing there nothing else to do she sits in a chair in the front row “Uhhh fine I’ll sit down to watch this bullshit”
Following Debra led the other soon follow her actions and all takes seat throughout the theatre
Dexter takes a seat beside his sister and his father sits beside him.
The man his dad warned him about takes a seat a row behind Dexter keeping his eyes on him the whole time.
The screen turns on to reveal the words
