Chapter Text
Tick, Tick, Tick….
Null blinked, and looked at the clock.
1:48 P.M.
Cool.
Not any closer to the day ending.
Just wonderful.
She leaned back in her chair, bored out of her mind.
This was the part of the school day students anticipated the most, leaving.
And she wasn’t much different from said students, she hated school just as much as everyone else, I mean, who even liked school? Bad food, bad teachers, don’t even get Null started on the work.
She looked to her side, a poster on the wall that read “WORK!!! Your life depends on it!”, she wasn’t exactly sure why her teacher thought it was motivating, or whatever went through that old guy’s mind. Mr. Faelyn was a real piece of work, that was sure.
She grabbed her pencil and bit down on it, chewing it like a dog toy.
She had work to do, but she couldn’t care less about it. She left the paper blank on her desk as she looked back at the clock.
1:49 changed to 1:50.
Null half thought of praying to god to speed up time so she doesn’t have to be here anymore.
It was Friday afterall, everyone was just itching to get out of here for the weekend.
She looked at the teacher’s desk, Mr. Faelyn sat and wrote something down on some papers.
This was boring as hell.
Please anyone up there, break the laws of physics and please just let it be 2:00 already, Null thought.
She looked at the other students, she saw a couple doing the work sheets the teacher gave out earlier, while some were in a similar state as Null, praying the day ends already.
She sighed in defeat, nobody was going to speed up time and end her misery. Fun.
RING!
Oh.
That was quick.
Null quickly got up, snatched her backpack, and bolted out of the classroom and school.
Finally! Free! FROM HELL!
She sighed in relief and made her way down the pavement, she had a stop to go to before she went back home.
Null stuck out her tongue as she thought, what type of chips should she get today? She really like those cheese poofs but the classic potato chips called for her name, oh what about BBQ–
What.
She whipped her head around.
Some kid was calling for her.
Oh hell no dude.
“HEY! WHATEVER YOUR NAME WAS!”
They couldn’t even be bothered to remember her name, weirdo.
Well, she knew enough about stranger danger to get the hell out of there, so she picked up her pace and started jogging with some random kid following behind, yelling.
Damn, they were loud, what did she do this time?
Nobody really liked her because she always got into fights with everyone and the worst part was that she always won them, which embarrassed a lot of boys trying to impress their friends or crushes.
Losers.
Eventually the kid caught up and grabbed her shoulder. She had half a mind to throw a punch but she did not want to get expelled from school for the fourth time this month. She wasn’t even sure why she was allowed back every time, she did not learn a lesson at all, she’ll keep punching people for bad mouthing her.
You know what screw school anyways.
She punched the kid square in the face, they fell down to the ground in pain and groaned, tears swelling in their eyes.
“W-what the heck!” The kid sniffled, and gave Null a glare.
“Dude, what do you want, following me like a stalker. Weirdo. I'll punch you again if this is about me beating you or your friends. I don't regret a thing!” She said, truth be told she has gotten in so many fights she can’t even remember who she has fought at this point.
The kid paused for a second as they held their nose, blood ran down his nose. “I-It’s not that! I’m not stalking you! I swear!” They pleaded their innocence. “I just needed to get your attention!”
“Then? What? Spit it out already, man.” Null crossed her arms and rolled her eyes, she was supposed to get her chips and soda she always got on Fridays! And she had to harass the cashier working there into going insane again! She was a very busy girl!
“Y-you didn’t hear this from me but…I heard that the older brother of the guy you beat up a week ago and his friends a-are planning revenge on you!” They looked around again and got up from the ground and whispered to Null. “I know you’re dead meat, but I-I just wanted to warn you! They’re high schoolers! And mad!” They said, urgency ran through their tone before looking both ways and running off in a rush.
Oh ok.
High schoolers? Did she really piss off that many people? Damn.
Well problem for future Null! Currently she needs to attend to some very important business.
The gas station! Home of tasty treats and most importantly–
Cashier Boy, as Null liked to call him.
She knew his name was like, Felix or something, but she liked using Cashier Boy more, it fit him.
She entered, opening the door and a jingle ringing out, announcing her arrival. Cashier Boy was currently asleep at the counter. Null marched straight to the snack aisle, grabbed a bag of cheese poofs, then to the refrigerated area and grabbed a soda from there.
She then made her way to the counter, and clapped her hands.
“Wakey wakey, Cashier Boy. It's that time of the week!” She said, a smirk growing on her face.
Cashier Boy frog blinked and lifted his head off of the counter and groaned when he looked at Null.
“Your total is–”
“I know, DORK.” She then opened her backpack, grabbed a plastic bag, opened it and dumped the right amount of money onto the counter before putting the plastic bag back and zipping up her backpack.
Cashier Boy took the money and placed it into the cash register. “Do you want a bag?..” He said in the most tired, exhausted voice.
“I think you know the answer, YES! SCREW THE DAMN PLANET! ILL POLLUTE ALL I WANT!” She exclaimed, and Cashier Boy groaned again before grabbing a bag and placing Null’s items in them and handing her it and a receipt, “Please don’t come back.” he murmured, then slammed his head back onto the counter as Null left.
She was now going home!
I mean, there's nothing special about it. What more is there to say?
Null walked down the pavement, the way back home etched into her mind, and could probably walk back blind folded.
It wasn’t that long of a walk from the gas station really, and before she knew it, she was back home. Finally!
She opened the door, which was unlocked already. Her parents really needed to invest in security, or something.
Null then threw her backpack somewhere on the ground near the entrance, closed the door, and placed her bag of goodies onto the table in the kitchen counter.
She noticed the lack of yelling voices and cigarette smoke, her parents were gone.
Cool.
She stretched her back before jumping onto the couch, grabbing the TV remote and started her daily brainwashing!
She’d said the day went well, or as well as her days got.
Slumber took her at 12:08 P.M.
