Chapter Text

As of late, Johnny had been spending most nights at the Curtis household. He wouldn’t admit it for the life of him but his father’s abuse was getting bad again. He didn’t want to admit it, make everyone pity him again.

He knows Darry is always happy to have him over, he knows Sodapop doesn’t mind sleeping in his own room so Pony and him can share Ponyboy’s bed. Still, he always feels like a bother when he stays over. But Pony simply wouldn’t let him stay in the lot anymore, he would always say that “it’s too cold” and how “he didn’t need to sleep in the lot when he had them.”

     Who was Johnny to decline?

So there he was, eating dinner with Curtis’s, sleeping in ponyboy’s bed, practically living with them. It was a big change from his house but his parents could give no less than a rats ass about where Johnny was. And besides, this wasn’t so bad either. They cared for each other, they ate dinner together, no one had to worry about the next time their father would spin out and start hitting again.

The only problem is that Johnny had begun to feel some sort of way about ponyboy. A way that boys can’t feel toward eachother. A way that was real wrong.

This isn’t how boys feel Johnny thought, staring at the ceiling of Ponyboy’s bedroom.

he could feel Pony’s every move, every time he tensed up, every time he turned over, every time he squirmed, and Johnny hated it. He wished he could be as far away from Ponyboy as possible right now. He wished he had never realized his feelings. He wished so much but still, he was there, next to Ponyboy.
