Lucifer was not surprised when Lilith left him. Sad? Yes, but he saw it coming for decades now, he just never realised to what extend would Lilith go to. The most painful thing that came out of this is that she had to pull Charlie into it. Pinning his little girl against him. He knew Lilith didn’t liked him anymore but clearly underestimated her hatred. She hated him enough to lie to Charlie and trick her to resent him. So for a while, he left Charlie to do as she pleases while he stood back, protecting her from the shadows
After Lilith Left hell, Lucifer could finally completely moved on with his life. For years he tried reconnecting with his daughter in vain, He started to reach out to her every half a year or so just to not annoy her too much. She never called him. Not unless she wanted something. It hurt but thankfully he was most times too busy to think about that.
After Lilith left her duties, he was busy with work. He worked day and night since he did not needed sleep. Taking care of his own load as well as Lilith’s paperwork was not fun at the beginning but with time it became an emotionless routine for him. Losing track of time and hardly grabbing at his emotions but deep inside a resentment, loneliness and boredom was boiling hot with each passing day. Days turned to years, seasons passed yet here he was, stuck inside of his office. He had enough.
Getting a hellborn to help him would be a problem since they will die in a few years and another will have to take its place. They efficiency is questionable, loyalty admirable and the fact that they are week and could be killed and used too easily is little too much of a problem.
On the other hand, using a sinner is a problem on its own. Sinners are biologically immortal that are capable of gruesome acts. They do anything to grab onto any weakness and exploit it. His best bet is to contract the sinner to him but that’s easier said then done. He needs a sinner that would be strong enough to protect themselves, as well as one that would be smart enough to not falter. That itself lowered the number of sinners that are fit into the role tremendously.
At the end choosing one was not a problem but binding one to a contract without loosing an arm will not be easy. So, Lucifer bit his time and observed. He collected information about all the overlords as well as some new powerful emerging sinners and waited for one to slip. And that’s how he met Alastor.
After years one thing was for certain. Alastor is an unbearable asshole, yet they still somewhat managed to fall for each other. To avoid future misunderstanding Lucifer tried to inform Charlie of his newly developing relationship but all Charlie seems to understand was that he given up on Lilith, he betrayed Lilith. That call ended with her screaming at him, she didn’t even let him finish nor explain himself. It hurt Lucifer more then he likes to admit it. Lilith has her wrapped around her finger and his daughter is naïve enough to not listen to both sides off the story. So, Lucifer did the only thing he thought is right. He left Charlie to her own ideas, as long as she is happy, its fine. He will not force her to listen unless she wants.
Within few decades his and Alastors relationship bloomed into a marriage. The last time Lucifer was this happy was when he first held Charlie in his arms.
It felt wrong but he did not mention his marriage to his daughter, she didn’t wanted to hear him last time when he was trying to mention he is dating somebody so why would she listen to him now? He felt bad, yes, but his daughter might be a bit delusional, even if it pains him to say it. Lilith does not love him anymore; she made it clear decades ago and neither does he love her. If her daughter wants to believe they will end up together again she can keep dreaming since she will clearly not listen to him.

Lucifer and Al both listened as Charlie made a fool out of herself. Alastor’s static was cracking up in entertainment while Lucifer stared at the radio. Listening to the drama that unfolded right in front of him. Sometimes he is surprised Charlie is his kid.
Lucifer grabbed his face as he groaned into them. Alastro sensing his dismay snuggled into his shoulder for a quick show of affection as he kept chuckling at the joke of an interview.
“That blind naivety is clearly not from you.” Alastor mentioned.
“I don’t know where it came from- It’s clearly Lilith doing.” Lucifer crocked out as if in pain and relaxed into Alastor.
Their rings glittered in the low light as Lucifer just stared at them.
Alastor observed his spouse for a moment before asking “Want me to check up on the little duckling?”
“Could you?” Lucifer looked at Al with plea.
Alastor grinned “Anything for you.”

And that’s how Alastor managed to tangle himself into the ‘Happy hotel’ drama. His spouse expressed his concern for his daughter as well as proposed a well-structured plan to somewhat ‘help’ his daughter and of course, Alastor being the great spouse he is agreed. He knows the relationship between the two Morningstar’s is more then on thin ice and Charlie does not know Luci’s new married status. Meeting Charlie and engraving himself in good light is crucial for the plan to work plus he will enjoy some extra entertainment along the way.
In the few days the plan was set in motion.
Show Charlie heaven is shity. Alastor will create a good bond with Charlie and finally possibly fix the father-daughter relationship that is almost non-existent.
Through the first few days he watched as Charlie meet Adam and how that affected her. To his dismay Charlie didn’t take it seriously and convinced herself that Adam and Lute are just flukes. Not even Vaggie looked impressed by her girlfriend’s dismissal of what was clearly in front off her. Looks like he is going to have to take the longer route to fix this.
