Chapter Text
“Shit…” the Omega murmured breathlessly through his panting, hand reaching down between his legs to his leaking hole after the man pulled out, “you weren’t fucking kidding, man.” He didn’t have to look to know the cheap motel sheets were stained as cum lazily dripped down. “Like a fucking fire hose. How pent up were you? You don’t get it that often, huh? Can’t relate.” Very few men could make him feel this breathless so he would give credit where credit was due, not that he would ever admit that aloud. He had some semblance of pride after all.
“Well, I did warn you. That’s why I asked if you wanted me to wear a condom.” The other man retorted, slipping from the creaky bed and stretching his lithe body with a slight pop of a joint. He pitied the rooms around him with how loud they must have been, only slightly though. It was hot as fuck finally having a good lay so they probably enjoyed the free audio show they gave them.
“Yeah, yeah, I heard you the first three times. It’s a mood killer when you’re already balls deep in someone to ask a fourth time.” He teased, watching the man’s naked form move to the bathroom. The faint trickle of rushing sink water filled the room before his partner for the night returned with a damp washcloth.
“Well I want to make sure because I’m a decent man actually. And I know birth control and suppressants aren't 100% effective, so better safe than sorry.” The mattress dipped as he sat on the edge, the faint orange glow of the lamp illuminating the bruises and bites along his neck and shoulders. Leaning forward, the pale man tapped against his leg for him to spread them a little further. “Here, let me.”
With a nod, the Omega moved his leg, pushing his hips forward for better access. It was a sweet gesture but that wouldn’t stop him from continuing to tease him. “Aww, what a gentleman… you should take me out to dinner next time if you’re going to try and get another round out of me,” he purred, smirking as his partner rolled his eyes and swiped the cloth over his sensitive skin a little too harshly. “Bitch! Be fucking careful! You weren’t the one getting your back blown out!” Resting on his elbows for a better look at the other man, he shot him an intense glare, pouting.
The Alpha raised his hands up defensively, but his brown eyes softened slightly. “Sorry, I’ll be more gentle.” When his hand moved again, it was less painful this time around, still rough but he wasn’t exactly expecting the highest quality from a 50 dollar motel off the outskirts of town. “You…” glancing up to look at the man laying down on the bed, a nervous glint flickered in his eyes, “you did say you were on birth control, right?”
Rolling his eyes, the man scoffed with a smirk. “It’s fine. I got it covered. I just have to heat up just enough and bang! No pills or inserts required. I’m just that fucking good.”
“And that works for you?”
“Tsk, I haven’t gotten pregnant yet.”
The other man just sighed softly to himself and a dismissive shrug of his shoulders. “If you say so.”
“And I will. Trust me, I know what I'm doing,” he sneered, leaning his head back onto the bed. The Alpha returned to his cleaning, but there wasn’t much left dripping out. Just under the light, his pale face flushed red, his eyes unable to tear away from the body spread out before him, not that the Omega could blame him. He was hot as shit. “You done down there or are you going to eat me out instead? I wouldn’t complain either way. The front got a taste so why not the back~”
“Well,” the other man pulled his legs over his shoulders, leaning forward and ghosting his breath over his olive skin, “I’d never turn down an invitation.” With that, he spread his legs further apart, sinking deep into the pleasure he couldn’t say no to. Maybe he could go for another round after all.
With his alarm blaring in his ears, Chad forced himself awake with a groan, slamming his fist into the off button. He would have hit snooze again but his dream just pissed him off, choosing to get up early instead. It didn’t help that his head still ached from his tooth or lack there of… Mechadick… God, if he saw him one more time, he would make damn sure not a single ash was left. First his fingers, now his tooth. What was the next thing he would take? His dick? Probably because he was jealous his was so fucking small.
At least now he could take a quick shower before breakfast. Taking his phone with him, the ex villain slipped out of his bedroom and into the bathroom. With how shitty and creaky the door was, he took his time shutting it slowly, never taking his eyes off the closed bedroom across the living room.
Before he could put on his morning playlist, the man lazily glanced at his messages, scrolling past the Gindr notifications with a roll of his eyes and a mocking chuckle from the weird desperation in some of the messages. In the back of his mind, he should probably delete the profile. With his job and, well, life, he didn’t have time for that anymore and he didn’t want to entertain some dickhead chaser Alpha with a shrimp dick. Like seriously, he’d seen Omegas with bigger cocks than that!
That didn’t stop him from screenshotting them, planning to show them to Alice later during lunch and have a good laugh before he deleted it.
Speaking of the younger Beta, Chad had a few messages from her, mostly complaining about having a new dispatcher for them today and so fast after he torched the last guy’s car. But that guy sucked ass anyway, especially after what he said about Sonar, spurring the Omega to add even more scent patches on his wrists when they were already irritated. That dick deserved it anyway for not keeping his shitty comments to himself.
Speaking of shitty…
“No fucking way! Are you serious!?” Just as he was about to brush his teeth, Chad read the latest message from the babysitter, clenching his fist around the tub of toothpaste so hard the contents shot out and splattered over his mirror. Fucking canceling last minute?! And at 3 am the day he needed one the most?! It was the second time this week! After he fired the last one, he was scrambling to even find a good replacement to begin with and on such short notice. It was their first week for fucks sake! And they still demanded his money for the week?!
Breath in.
Breath out.
Breath in.
Breath out.
Any smoke rising from his skin settled to a low simmer, setting his phone down on the vanity before his palms grew too hot. Just as Dr. Harrow had told him, it was just a blip in the radar. A drop in the ocean of his life. It wouldn’t even matter in the end anyway. Everything would be fine…
Especially when he knew the right car to light ablaze after work.
Shower first, then deal with this after.
Letting the smoothing droplets pelt his skin didn’t ease much of his anger, but it did help a little as the ex villain rubbed the muscles in his neck, and his scent glands, relief immediately washing over him. The toasted aroma of marshmallows with warm honey filled the shower, relaxing him even further. As much as Chad wished he could say in the shower, he refused to add to his bills but he also needed to break the news, though he was positive she wouldn’t be too upset, or upset at all. With a quick heat dry, the steam evaporated quickly from his body although it left his hair with a bit more frizz than he’d like. Not that it really mattered much; it would be smothered in fireproof gel soon anyway.
With his fire patterned sweatpant back on, a gag gift from his older sister a few Christmas’ ago, Chad cautiously cracked the door back open, smiling gently at the faint purple glow shining through the crack under the other bedroom door. Thankfully, his floors didn’t creak much as the man approached slowly, opening the door even slower.
Her walls were a lovely pastel yellow, but with the purple night light she insisted on having transformed it to a light, muddied brown. At first, she cried over it, clearly missing how her room used to look but after twenty minutes of Chad calming her down and showing her that her room was still, in fact, painted yellow, she fell fast asleep in his arms, under the glowing stars projected on her ceiling. Her floor was covered in paper and crayons when Alice volunteered to watch over her for those few hours he was out last night with Coop and Colm. His friend offered to clean it up when she fell asleep but she would just clean it up later. Alice spoiled her more than he did.
‘If you ever die, I’m takin’ her. Your sister can fight me for custody but I’ll fuckin’ win,’ the Beta once told him which always got a good laugh out of him every time. Alice probably loved her more than him, especially with how many toys and clothes she spoiled her with. Not that she really played much with anyone else. No, that was a privilege only Chad had, feeling all the more smug about it. The only toy she really liked- more akin to a lifeline actually. She took it everywhere she went no matter what- was a stuffed brown monkey, well worn from use and matted from the washing machine over the past couple years. Just barely peeking out from her orange and yellow comforter, her head poked out, face pressed against her toy monkey.
Crouching down beside the low bed, he rested his arm against the mattress, reaching a hand out to stroke her soft dark brown hair between its three fingers. Gently, her head lulled to the side, sliding into the palm of his hand, earning an even wider smile. “Eshgham…” he murmured softly, stroking her cheek with his thumb. Stirring slightly, two wide, dark brown eyes blinked away, the little one yawning slightly. Her eyes watered slightly, far too early for when she was used to waking up. “I know Amal… it’s too early for you, but you have to get up soon, Sweetie.” The little girl pouted gently, burying herself in her blankets to ‘escape’ from him, but when he said “Then I guess you don’t want to come to work with Baba and Auntie Alice today,” the blankets fell off her shoulders when she shot back up at the words.
Amal rarely smiled, even when she was happy but in those rare few times she did always warmed his heart especially right now as her tail curled gently around her. When she was born, he’d never been happier knowing what her powers were immediately, his mother’s powers having skipped a generation. Her prehensile tail curled over her body as she slept; the soft dark brown fur didn’t irritate her much. He had been worried about the fur growing around her cheeks with her sensitive skin but it was just the same. Her small, monkey-like ears pressed against his bare shoulder as she nudged him with her head, trying to get him to hurry up and move.
“Alright, somebody’s bossy today. And I thought you were too tired to get up. I could always hand you off to Aunt Mina if you want to keep sleeping in.” She shook her head, squeaking out a little irritated noise as she tried to climb past him. Keyword: tried. He had his hands around her middle to keep her still. “Fine,” he mused playfully, scooping the toddler in his arms, “I’ll take you. You’re not upset that the babysitter fucking canceled last fucking minute again?”
Vehemently, Amal shook her head against his chest as her father carried her to the dining room table and in her booster seat. “No, you’d rather have Baba all to yourself, right?” She nodded, bringing a smile to his face. “When you do start talking, don’t repeat anything I say, ok, Eshgham? Those are grownup words.” The little girl nodded again, only half paying attention since she was so used to him swearing over the phone all the time.
Breakfast was an easy affair every day when his kid wasn’t particularly picky, but they always ate the same thing for that day. So if she wanted peanut butter toast with banana slices on top, then so would he. A small pile of sliced carrots and an orange sippy cup full of milk joined her meal as Chad brewed a pot of coffee for himself as his toast crunched with each bite. She was good at brushing her teeth as well after breakfast, immediately padding to the bathroom while her father rinsed the plates.
Dressing her was a different battle altogether. Skirts and dresses were a no go for her, sticking to pants and overalls instead, which weren’t really tail friendly at the time, especially the kinds she liked. Fabric choices were also limited, nothing too harsh or too smooth. Thank God that Alice was also conscious when spoiling her, making sure to rip out and sew tail holes in her pants and even made her own clothes when she had the time. The real nightmare came with socks and shoes.
“Amal… Sweetie, I know you don’t like them but you have to put them on.” He sighed gently when the little girl shook her head, pouting with her arms crossed as she sat on her dresser. It barely came up to Chad’s hip, not too high but he wasn’t too concerned even if it was, having grown so used to her making her way on the furniture since she could walk.
Sure, she nearly gave him a heart attack the first time he saw her on the counter as an infant but after that, she kept her climbing confined to her room and the park every weekend. At least everything was childproofed, obnoxiously so, but one couldn’t be too safe. He could also grab her easily but instead, he knelt down in front of her slowly, his eyes level with hers. “It’s only for today, ok? Baba will talk to his boss and see what he can do and if you can just wear your sandals. How does that sound?” He would at last try and vet babysitters after next week, but until then, she would have to come with him to work.
After a few moments of silence, she nodded slowly, reaching out for her father to pick her up. While Chad knew she could climb down herself, it was her version of an apology. He accepted, holding her in the crook of his arm before settling her on the bed. Squirming slightly as he slipped her socks on, Amal didn’t make any more of a fuss, relinquishing to her father’s ‘demands’ when he velcroed her shoes on. “There, that wasn’t too bad, now was it?” The toddler huffed in response, shaking her head no with a pout. “Good. Now why don’t you clean up your room? If it’s spotless, I’ll take you to the park during lunch.”
Without hesitation, Amal slipped from her bed, picking up the coloring books and half sheets of paper scattered over the floor while she used her tail to drag her monkey behind her. While she was preoccupied, Chad slipped out and back to his bedroom to get dressed while also sending a halfassed message to Blazer that he would be bringing Amal last minute. Almost instantly, she replied as he fixed his athletic cup to rest more comfortably. And of course, she was more than understanding. She always was given his circumstances which he would always appreciate, even if she was obnoxiously nice about it.
Tossing a random v-neck and a pair of shorts to change out of for lunch in his gym bag, Chad had to bite his tongue to keep himself from laughing too loudly at his thoughts. Alice, if she so much as saw it, wouldn’t stop making fun of him and his ‘dad fit’ all of next week, maybe even the rest of the month. He looked good in whatever he wore, and especially his ‘dad fit’. When he made his way to the kitchen, the ex villain glanced over his shoulder and smiled, seeing his daughter packing her backpack (also yellow) without him even having to ask. The coloring books made their way to the main pocket as well as a few of her board books for someone, probably Blazer, to read to her. Maybe he could even con Chase into looking after her post nap but the old man was quite the hardass since he started working at the branch.
All of Amal’s meals were prepared and labeled for the week in their fridge, mostly for the babysitters to choose from. Picking out a small glass container of mac and cheese from the array of food (making a mental note to go grocery shopping Sunday), he set it aside on the counter while he grabbed her other snacks: a bag of mixed fruit, cheese sticks, and more sliced carrots. Two travel cups were filled with water and apple juice respectively and joined her lunchbag. The faint squeaks of shoes padded closer to him as he filled his travel mug with coffee for the road. “Are you ready, Honey? You packed everything, right? Earmuffs? Blanket?”
She nodded, squeezing her monkey against her chest. Chad almost felt silly having to ask her; she wasn’t even three yet and she was already on top of her things. He didn’t even have to check her room to know it was cleaned up. “Good girl,” the man mused, picking up his little girl and holding her to the other side of his hip, his gym bag and her lunch occupying the other. Most of him hoped that they weren’t too busy today so he could spend more time with her today.
Entering the hero locker room, Chad carried Amal to his locker to put his bag away, her tail curling around his wrist gently as she yawned softly. Luckily, he arrived early so he could get the little one situated in the breakroom without anyone else bothering them. Well, except for-
“Where’s my baby girl?” Huffing out a small chuckle, the hero shut his locker door softly, looking at Alice glancing up at him with her hands on her hips. She hadn’t put on her vizor or makeup yet, having waited impatiently for her niece. Before the drive down, Chad shot her a quick text to let her know the situation. “Awww there she is!” Slowly, she reached her hands out in a little wave. “God, she gets cuter every single day.” It wasn’t even 24 hours since she last saw her and she still gushed over the toddler.
“Of course she does, have you seen her father?” With a wide sweep of his arm, he gestured to his entire body.
Rolling her eyes, Alice scratched gently under the toddler’s chin, causing Amal to squirm and giggle gently. “I think you give yourself too much credit.” Scoffing, Chad feigned surprise, pressing his other hand against his chest. “ Anyway, are you talkin’ yet, baby girl? Can you say Auntie Alice? A-u-n-t-i-e A-l-i-c-e?” The beta’s faint scent filled the air around them; a comfortable and surprisingly pleasant vanilla and lavender that easily settled the little squirming girl.
In response, Amal just let out a little noise instead, sounding more like a squeak than anything else. The other hero just smiled, rubbing her thumb over the toddler’s chubby cheeks. “That’s ok. You’ll say it on your own time.” It was a little worrying that she was so behind on speaking, but Dr. Harrow hooked him up with a child psychologist who would ease his worries, or at least help him through them at the end of the month.
“Well her first words will be Baba, I’ll make sure of it.”
“Yeah ‘cause she would be cussin’ you out otherwise,” she teased softly, tucking a stray piece of hair behind Amal’s ear.
“Nah I’d want her to cuss out the flaky babysitters who keep dropping like flies last minute,” the flaming hero hissed bitterly, tightening his grip on the lunchbag hanging off his shoulder. Not entirely sure why, maybe he opened his mouth just a little too wide, but little fingers reached inside and around the gap in his teeth. “Ahmahl no,” Chad warned the best he could with her fingers on his teeth. Softly, he pulled her wrist away. “We don’t put fingers in other people’s mouths.” While gentle, his voice remained firm as she nodded. Her other hand holding onto her stuffed monkey poked at her own baby teeth, in the same spot as his own tooth gap.
“I thought I heard whistling. What the f- heck happened to you?” Alice caught herself, even if Amal heard far, far worse from her own father. Not wanting to worry his little girl when he came home with a missing tooth and a mouth full of blood, he just lied and said he drank too much while out as he ushered his friend out of his home.
Much less be reminded of Mechabitch. “I don’t wanna talk about it. And drinks are at Sardine’s from now on.”
“That dump? Why? Crypto’s wayyyyy better and they don’t serve dogshit.”
“...I got banned from Crypto Night.” At least he took someone else down with him. Bet Mechadick was too. He better have. Otherwise, he would sue for discrimination.
“Of course you did.” She sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose and shaking her head.
In his arms, Amal tried to copy her, squishing her nose in the process. “You’re a terrible influence.”
“Bitch, I’m the best influence!” Alice shot back, immediately slapping her hand over her mouth as the toddler giggled at her. “Don’t repeat that, ok?”
With a playful roll of his eyes, Chad sidestepped Alice for the door. “Let me get her settled and then you can swear to your heart’s content after.” The flaming hero purred, rubbing his thumb over the little girl’s shoulder. Besides, he didn’t want to overwhelm Amal when everyone else arrived, too many people and too many combative scents all in such a small confined space.
Just before he left, Alice called out, “hey Bae,” slipping into his hero nickname. With two fingers, she tapped at the crook of his neck. “You forget something?” Right, with how semi-chaotic his morning had been, the hero forgot to take suppressants before he left. It was an easy fix though, heating his body up just enough for his scent to turn to its woodsy, smokey aroma the office was used to smelling from him.
Scrunching up her nose, Amal rubbed at her face, as though that would get rid of the scent from her father. “I know, Sweetie,” Chad sighed, planting a kiss on her forehead while she tried to move her head away. “Baba smells gross. But it’s just for work, ok?” He wasn’t exactly happy about it either, but people already had their assumptions about him after all. A big, strong guy needed an equally strong scent. Why not just make them think they’re right? It was easier to just hide it anyway, especially with how Sonar was treated outside of the team.
After all, Alice and Blazer were the only ones who knew he was an Omega.
