Chapter Text

The wooden floor creaked as a figure entered. A hooded woman with short red hair, butchered in uneven layers, definitely made her presence felt as she walked through the tavern.

Her stoic and determined expression made her seem even more intimidating to the people that were once minding their affairs, drunkenly bickering and threatening eachother. What was it that made her stand out so much so that the other watched her in such a way? She was just there for business just like everyone else.

To put it simply no one recognised her, and the ones who did could not but pity her. After all, it was her and her family that suffered most when tragedy struck seven years ago. That woman Violet or "Vi" was a real mystery.

_______________________________________________________

Just seven years ago she was a girl that would be considered lucky by the commons folk of Zaun. After her parents died in a protest when she was little she along with her little sister and two boys were taken in by the hero of Zaun ,Vander. That man had become the face of the undercity, he was a leader of sorts, people surely sought him to deal with their affairs and they placed their hopes of their little nation rising and fighting their oppressors onto him. It was a fact that his "reign" was too good to be true... and nothing good lasts forever. Seven years ago was the last time the girl named Vi would truly ever be happy, cause seven years ago Vander was assassinated and his adopted sons faced the same fate. Nobody knew who done it, for all they knew it could have been their oppressors, the powerful and rich of Piltover, or even some wannabe rebels that were fed up with his slow methods. It was evident that after becoming a "father" his hunger for freedom subsided. They possessed too much hope and aggression, making them act without thinking of the consequences.

After that happened she found herself alone in a prison. From what she heard her sister, Powder, had gone mad. She didn't know where that little girl, the only person she had left, was or if she was safe and the only piece of information she had about her only made her heart ache. She should have been there for her, support her in this hard time as she had done countless of times before. She should have done everything she could for her instead of rotting in this cell. She was only fifteen when that happened after all, what could she have done to deserve this?

In prison, Vi was getting beaten often. Sometimes because she "misbehaved" other times cause the enforcers felt like it. It sucked truly but that didn't stop her from gaining reputation.Picking fights with other prisoners was a common occurrence in her time in stillwater, however she whenever she judged it was appropriate she also stood up for others. It was a beat or get beaten situation and Vi had to survive, she had to, for Powder.

One time for instance she helped a group of people her age not get in trouble with the officers cause that was what she deemed right back then, after all they had not done anything suspicious or unjust, it was one of the times where enforcers wanted to take their frustrations out on somebody. Shs earned the respect of that group and as an act of gratitude they let her in on their escape plan. After spending so much time with that group they had come to accept her as one of their own so when they finally made their great escape they revealed to her that they were assassins, working to make Zaun great by eliminating whoever stood in their way. Obviously if they were good at their task they wouldn't have ended up in this God-forsaken prison named "stillwater". Vi didn't have any interest joining them, for after all these seven years she had spent locked up she realised that war brings more misfortune than greatness. And by causing diplomatic incidents Zaun would find itself more oppressed than liberated.

She was about to turn down their offer and part ways with them until they mentioned something that piqued Vi's interest. They claimed that they actually had some very skilled informants who would know were to track down her sister, besides they already had very exclusive information about what had happened to Vander on that fateful night of his murder seven years ago. Although reluctant Vi agreed to become an assassin but that didn't mean that she didn't have ulterior motives, after what had happened seven years ago she knew this "assassin job" wouldn't bring any good anyways.

The only thing she wanted right now was to reunite with Powder so she made a deal with the higher ups regarding her payment: instead of collecting money they would have to track her sister down for her and bring Powder to her. Vi wasn't a fool, she knew that they had it out for her incase she failed a mission or betrayed them, but at this moment she didn't care and she knew she was getting desperate for the only family member she had left. She was in a vulnerable state and her bosses were aware. Even if she hated being someone's puppet she had to endure it until she found a loophole.

This was the sixth job Vi had received, the target this time was a high noble of house "Kiramman", an influential family of Piltover. That's the only clue she had of who she would have to kill. She'd get more information by an expensive informant in this tavern. The way all those drunkards looked at her made her feel rather annoyed but whatever, making a scene would be an unwise move. She made her way to a brown haired person wearing a black cloak with an insignia sewn on it. Although it was making them be perceived as suspicious and potentially blow thier cover, it was with no doubt her informant.

From what she had been told her target was a rather tough one, having survived two previous assassination attempts, whatever as long as she got the job done she could finally stop this meaningless line of work and rejoice with her sister. As she was about to leave, a group of enforcers entered the building. Of course they had to be there, to remind her of all the pain she had gone through. Suddenly an uncomfortable looking enforcer caught her eye...

Unfortunately the characters might be a bit out of character but alas blame my poor writing skills.
