Work Text:
The girl that Ollie was absolutely smitten about was from Italy.
Brown curls, slight accent.
But Kimi couldn’t help but notice how the girl he took so much attention to looked like a 1:1 replica of him.
He paid no attention to the coincidence. Because, after all, it was…a coincidence.
And it’s not like Kimi was jealous or anything, because he liked girls. He was straight. And the slight pang of energy or the way his heart would speed up every time he saw Ollie didn’t mean anything.
“I’m telling you, Kimi. She—she’s perfect!”
“Good afternoon to you too, Ollie.” Kimi laughed slightly as he spoke on the phone.
“Just listen to me, okay? I met her like—a week ago! We aren’t dating or anything but I think I might ask her out.” Ollie spoke rapidly.
“What does she look like?”
“Well—she has brown hair. But they’re kinda whispy, you get what I mean? Like—they curl around all over the place and everything. Oh, and did I mention she’s from Italy? She has really dark eyes too.”
Kimi snorted, “Sounds like you’re absolutely head over heels.”
“Should I ask her out? I should ask her out shouldn’t I.”
“You should think about it, Orsetto.”
“Alright—alright. Anyways, I’m pulling up to our apartment.” Ollie muttered a quick good-bye before hanging up.
***
The two laid in the shared bed. There were two separate bedrooms, sure. But Kimi would never admit that the second bedroom was mostly just used for storage.
They wouldn’t speak about it, not even to each other. But it was there. Every night, without fail, they would collapse onto the same small mattress. Every day, Kimi would wake up in Ollie’s arms.
If anybody asked, they would say it was to share space. That, or Ollie sleeps on the couch.
But any reasonable person knew that the couch was never comfortable to sleep in. And you would wake up sore from sleeping in the wrong position. (There wasn’t a right position. The couch just hurt.)
Usually they would talk about stupid things, giggling until they fell asleep. Sometimes it would be about more personal stuff. Other times they would complain about the car they had to drive with.
But this time, it was none of those, because they simply laid on the bed. Limbs entangled, breath slow.
Kimi never told Ollie but he had a hard time sleeping. He simply pretended to be asleep for the sake of, well, being with Ollie.
They rarely ever brought it up to each other. The one time they did both started turning red and muttering apologies.
When he woke up, he didn’t move. He didn’t struggle out of Ollie’s grip like he always did. He laid there, staring at Ollie’s features. Close enough that if he were to inch slightly closer he would’ve practically been kissing him.
***
Kimi was going insane.
With the amount of times Ollie would talk about his dream lover, looking absolutely smitten. Well, he could tolerate that. Of course he could.
But there was something else driving him insane. Something that would make him move mountains. Something that would make him stare into the ceiling longingly for hours on end.
It all tied back to Ollie. The sudden bursts of energy that would make him want to bounce off the walls. How he caught his pupils dilating slightly in the mirror every time he thought about him. How Kimi would instantly perk up whenever somebody mentioned it.
Which made it weirder because Kimi was sure that he was 100% straight.
He tried coming to the conclusion that he couldn’t be queer. Well—he could. Just not for Ollie.
And the guilt, oh the guilt would eat him alive. Kimi told himself over and over again that it wouldn’t be fair to both of them, but Ollie especially. That Ollie deserves to have a friend that supports him through relationships, not become one.
But the thought kept bouncing back. Every. Single. Time.
He wanted Ollie so desperately.
But at the same time, Kimi wanted to push him away so far to completely forget about the feeling of simply seeing him.
It was hell on earth. Some might even say a sin. But Kimi would’ve gone through hell and back just for Ollie.
No book could describe what he was feeling other than himself. It was the feeling of being willing to do anything just for Ollie.
If he had to choose between saving the world and saving Ollie, he would burn everything down.
It was forbidden, sinful even. But Kimi would’ve waited lifetimes to commit that sin. And he would suffer through lifetimes more dealing with it.
He needed to talk to somebody about it, get it off his chest, then forget about it.
But he didn’t want to forget.
Sighing, Kimi picked up his phone.
“George? Yeah—can I come over really quickly?”
***
Upon opening the door, George noticed 2 things.
One, Kimi’s hands were shaking. Two, he looked like he hadn’t slept in days.
Great.
“Kimi,” he asked as the younger boy entered through the door. “Are you okay? You look like you haven’t been sleeping mate.”
“Yes—yes I’m fine. Ollie just rolls around a lot in his sleep—”
“You and Ollie share a bed?”
George cut him off, slightly bewildered.
Kimi’s face turned slightly pink, realizing what he just said. “Well—I mean—”
“Alright, alright Kimi. Just tell me why you’re here all of a sudden.”
“I don’t know where to start—I just—I don’t know.”
“Just…tell me what you’re comfortable with telling me.”
“There’s this person and they—they’re perfect. And I’m not supposed to fall for them but I just—I did.”
George’s eyes softened. “Have you told Ollie about this? Maybe he could help you.”
“I…can’t because—well that isn’t the point. I just—don’t know why I’m like this. Why I’m waiting for somebody who wont arrive.”
“Well you’re an F1 driver—she’s gotta like you back no?”
“George…”
“And I mean who could turn down the Kimi Antonelli—”
“George!”
A beat of silence.
Then another.
The room was steady, and all you could hear was Kimi breathing heavily. George looked at him with a mix of confusion and concern.
“George…they aren’t a girl.”
They paused.
That’s when George surged forward and wrapped his arms around Kimi. The embrace was comforting, it had reassurance.
“It’s Ollie, isn’t it.” He said in almost a whisper.
“I—” He paused. “Yeah—yeah it is.”
“First of all, I’m glad that you trusted me with this. You know that I wouldn’t treat you any differently. Second of all, I knew it!”
“What—” Kimi brushed away the tears he didn’t even know were there. “What do you mean you knew!”
“Kimi you look at him like he hung the moon! I mean, your contact for him has three heart emojis. Not to mention you two share a bed!”
“That doesn’t—” He sputtered out. “That doesn’t even mean anything!”
“Did you come here for advice or to tell me about Ollie?”
“Well—I—just give me the advice, George!”
“Seriously? Just—tell him! He’s practically in love with you anyways.”
“No he’s not—he likes another girl.”
George stopped in his tracks, “So you’re telling me, sharing a bed, wearing your ‘friend’s clothes—”
“That was an accident!”
“—Even though we both know that Ollie has enough clothes to last a lifetime, is a completely casual thing to do? That’s nuts!”
“Yes that—that is very much casual! I mean—you don’t share clothes with Alex?”
“Oh so you admit to sharing clothes with Ollie.”
“Wha—no! No, I don’t admit that!”
“Sure, sure. Could you at least show me the photo of the girl Ollie supposedly likes?”
Kimi pulled out his phone and instantly went to the woman’s instagram.
“Kimi.”
“Hm?”
“Has it ever occurred to you that she looks exactly like you except genderbent?”
“George, that was the first thing I thought of once I saw her.”
“Kimi you gotta tell him, mate. That’s—that’s absurd.”
***
“Kimi?” Ollie asks.
“When was the last time you slept?” The taller boy’s hand brushes under Kimi’s eyes, making his heart skip a beat.
“...Last night?”
“No, I meant when was the last time you’ve slept properly. Lying in bed and closing your eyes without even falling asleep doesn’t count.”
Kimi doesn’t say anything, he doesn’t have the words to. Not when Ollie’s slowly inching closer and looking at him with the same intent and person with their lover would.
Sighing, he takes Kimi’s arm gently and leads him towards the bedroom. “You should’ve told me sooner,” Ollie insists. “I’ve been friends with you since—forever. I know how to make you fall asleep.”
“Ollie I—I can’t sleep. Not now.”
“Well that’s too bad because you are.”
Kimi sits on the end of the bed as Ollie tells him, “I’ll be back.”
The older boy comes back with a cup of tea in his hand and a laptop. Ollie hands him the cup of tea, “I know it’s your favorite.” He mutters.
He motions to the laptop and asks if Kimi wants to watch a movie. And obviously, Kimi can’t say no.
So there they were, laptop on the bed, watching a movie. Although, Kimi wasn’t really paying attention to the movie. He was paying attention to Ollie.
Eventually, Kimi started leaning onto Ollie. Which eventually led to his head in between the crook of Ollie’s head and shoulder. He held Ollie subconsciously tight.
It's one of those moments that are so small yet so important to Kimi.
He looks at his best friend, and he comes to a conclusion that he’s realised hundreds of times before but it still continues to shock him. Because he's willing to do anything for Ollie.
Kimi swears he could treat him right. Better than any woman ever could.
Ollie’s running his hands through his brown hair. And Kimi leans into it. He doesn’t think the older boy knows he's running his hands through Kimi’s hair, but he sure isn’t gonna complain.
After a few moments the scenes start blurring together, and he’s nodding off.
And Kimi, well, Kimi smiles to himself for a brief moment because he should’ve known that Ollie knew how to get him to sleep.
After all, every few times a month, Kimi would slip out of bed and into the kitchen. And, Ollie would always follow. Always. Even in his most sleepless nights and restless dreams Ollie’s always been there.
He just wishes his restless dreams were reality.
***
It was late, really late.
Now Kimi, freshly thirteen, sharing a hotel room with Ollie was busy ranting on about how he would survive the zombie apocalypse.
“I’m telling you—Ollie! The first thing I would do is—”
“Well wouldn’t it be more logical to, I dunno, hop on a train—”
“No!”
“Why not?”
“Ollie if you had just been listening you would know—”
Kimi continued ranting on, but Ollie wasn’t listening. He was busy focusing on Kimi’s eyes.
A beat of silence followed.
“Kimi?”
“Hm?”
“I love you.”
A pause.
Kimi scrunches his nose, “Boys can’t love each other, you goof.”
“Sure they can! I love you, don’t I?” Ollie grins.
“I—well you’re an exception, Ols!”
“Whad’ya mean by that?”
“I mean that it doesn’t count when you say it.”
“Sure it does!”
“No, it doesn’t.”
“Does—”
“Does not—”
“Well it doesn’t matter if you don’t, Kim. Because I do.”
Kimi blushes, his face turning just about as red as Ollie’s Ferrari shirt. “Don’t say that!”
“I mean it! Like—you would save me in a zombie apocalypse, wouldn’t you?”
“Of course I would!”
“Exactly! I would hide my zombie bite or something just to—”
“No! Definitely do not do that Ols! Did you not hear what I told you! Jeez!”
Kimi continued his rant until he eventually fell asleep in Ollie’s arms.
***
Kimi was too late.
Maybe if he had just confessed right there and then, he would’ve had Ollie. No, not just Ollie—his love too.
But of course, nothing ever went his way.
So there he was, sitting on the couch of his and Ollie’s apartment, scrolling mindlessly on instagram.
When Ollie had told Kimi that the girl he was longing for was finally his, it was in the most unprofessionally possible way. Ollie being Ollie, burst through the door shaking Kimi’s shoulders. When the younger boy had asked him what was going on, Ollie simply replied with, “She said yes, Kim! She’s my WAG!”
Looking back at the moment, his heart ached with the feeling of longing that lingered throughout the apartment.
Now, Kimi wasn’t a homewrecker. He wouldn’t try and purposefully break Ollie’s relationship up for the sake of getting a chance. But he knew that if they ever broke up, Kimi could treat him right.
The room was silent with the exception of the wind blowing through the window. So silent, in fact, that the click at the door startled Kimi.
That was when a very drunk Ollie walked through the door.
A drunk Ollie, Kimi knew, was a very honest one. Too honest, sometimes. He didn’t mind it, though. Sometimes he could get some embarrassing stories out of him that were used as a main topic in the morning.
“Ollie?” Kimi got up from the couch to support his friend.
“Hi…” He slurred his words, “You look like my friend. Er—I forgot his name, Kimi, I think?”
“Ollie…I am Kimi.” He said as he walked the taller boy back to their room.
Ollie swayed about every two steps which made it very hard for Kimi to get him to the bedroom. About half his weight was leaning onto the smaller boy.
“Hah—your lips…” He giggled.
“What about them?”
“They look so…kissable.”
A drunk Ollie is an honest one, he thought to himself as he paused mid step.
“...Thank you.”
It took them both about five minutes to get to the bedroom, with Ollie’s swaying and leaning. By the time his best friend was transported to the bed, he was a giggling mess.
“...That can’t be comfortable. Here—wait—I’ll take off your jacket. Let me guess you’re wearing that blue shirt—yup.”
“Kimi,” Ollie paused as he buried his face into the pillow. “I love you.”
Kimi’s breath hitched, as if Ollie hadn't said it to him before. “I…love you too, Ols.”
“You mean it?”
Kimi took Ollie’s hands in his, “Of course.”
He rolled over, turning to face Kimi and laying his arm across his chest. “The girl I was talking about,”
“Yeah, what about her?”
“She looks like you.”
Kimi paused to look at Ollie, and, for a moment, he stopped breathing.
“That’s the only reason I dated her,” He slurred, cheeks flushed. “Because she looked like you. I don’t—I don’t like her, I like you.”
“Do you—do you mean it?” Kimi whispered.
“I’ve only ever wanted you,” he giggled as if it was nothing.
“Oh Ollie…”
They both pause, staring at each other for different reasons but with the same intent.
Ollie leans in closer, “Can I…”
Kimi nods almost instantly. He leans in closer and can smell the cologne on the drunken boy’s neck. Ollie smells like vanilla, the same vanilla that the clothes Kimi borrows from him smells like. It’s only then that he realizes that half the clothes in his closet aren’t even his, they’re Ollie’s.
They’re faces are so close together and it’s only then does Kimi realize that it’s real.
But then it hits him that Ollie has a girlfriend. That it isn’t fair for the woman that deserved him first. So he does what he only recently learnt to do, push Ollie away. In one single motion Kimi grabs Ollie by the shoulders and uses that momentum to back up, creating distance between them.
“Ollie—I really want this, believe me.” He pauses, hesitance clear in his voice. “But you’re drunk. And—and as much as I know that whenever you’re drunk you end up being the most honest person I know, I can’t trust myself to believe that this is what you would want if you were sober.”
Ollie nods, “‘S’ok Kims. I’ll just—” He leans over to kiss Kimi on the forehead. “—Do that. Now you don’t ever have to worry about thinking that I never wanted this.” He smiles with such intent it makes Kimi’s heart ache.
Late at night, Ollie holds Kimi tight and close to his heart, as if he would lose him if he let go. That night, it took Kimi a solid two hours to finally fall asleep.
***
The days after that are the slowest. Mainly because Kimi spends most of it trying to avoid Ollie.
It started with the small things, Kimi would go out for a run as soon as Ollie would wake up. He would sleep on the edge of the bed as far away as possible from his best friend.
Then, it progressed into something much bigger. Kimi would go out in the afternoon and come back when Ollie was already asleep to avoid sharing a bed with him. Every time Ollie would enter the same room as him, Kimi would be gone or in an entirely separate room in under a minute.
It hurt both of them. Kimi constantly longed to be within the closest proximity possible of Ollie. And Ollie was left confused as to why his best friend (maybe more?) was avoiding him.
So it was inevitable that one of them would snap.
Ollie grabbed his forearm as he was about to leave the room, “Kims, can we talk?”
“Yeah, we can—we can talk.”
A pause.
“Why have you been avoiding me?”
Kimi knew this question was coming. He could spot it from miles away, but that didn’t mean he was prepared to answer it. He could tell Ollie the truth, about the time he came home drunk.
But obviously, telling the truth would mean hurting him. So Kimi won’t do it.
“I don’t know—”
“Don’t pull that on me. I know damn well you know and you just aren’t telling me.”
“Oliver seriously—”
“Andrea.”
The name catches Kimi off guard because nobody calls him Andrea. To everybody he’s Kimi. Just Kimi, only Kimi.
“You’ve been avoiding me so don’t pretend like you aren’t. You—you can’t even stand to be in the same room as me!”
“I don’t understand why it’s such a big deal to you!”
“It’s a big deal to me because you’ve never done this to me before! And I know you Kimi!”
“I’m worried about you.”
His heart skips a beat, “Could you just leave it, please?”
“No I can’t—”
“Yes you can! So do it!”
“I can’t Andrea! I haven’t left you while something was up—ever! I didn’t leave you when you had that crash in Monza! I was there for you the entire time when you were sick delirious after that incident in—”
“Well, leave me alone this time will you? I can handle myself!”
“Oh so one day you can’t leave my side and the next we can’t even be in the same room as each other!”
“Fine. Fine! Do you want to know the reason I’m avoiding you, fine! It’s because I’m in love with you! I’ve been in love with you for so, so long and I’ve only just now realized it and I’m an idiot for not realizing it sooner!”
Ollie says the next sentence purely out of impulse without thinking. He’s hardwired to say it after years of denying what he feels like, “That was casual!”
Kimi inhales a sharp breath of air.
“No it wasn’t! Friends don’t—friends don’t do things like this! Friends don’t share a bed when they both know there’s another one in the room next door! Half my clothes aren’t even mine, they’re yours! Friends don’t whisper to each other ‘I love you’ in the middle of the night like it’s nothing!”
“Kimi—”
“No! Do you know what you said to me when you were drunk? You told me you loved me! That you never loved that girl you told me about! You tried to kiss me on the lips and when I told you I wouldn’t accept it because you were drunk you kissed me on the forehead! That isn’t casual!” He pauses.
“Do you know what your excuse was? You told me that you did it so that I wouldn’t have to worry about thinking you never wanted it!”
“So I apologize for thinking that you thought of me as more than just your friend!”
Before Ollie can say anything or apologize after realizing what he said, Kimi’s out the door.
***
George opens the door for a second time to find Kimi at the door, again.
But this time, this time is different. The younger boy looks out of breath, almost as if he ran the whole way there. Kimi’s eyes are glossy.
Instead of saying hi, or asking for a favor, or explaining why he’s there, Kimi collapses into George’s embrace. The younger boy is sobbing into George’s shoulder, but it’s only George who realizes it between the two of them.
“...Kimi? Are you alright?”
“I am so…so…stupid.” He whispers.
Kimi shouldn’t complain. In fact, he should be grateful that there was somebody to comfort him in the first place. But George isn’t Ollie. He doesn’t know how to get him to calm down, or what’s the best way to cheer him up.
But he’s the next best thing next to Ollie, so Kimi will take what he can get.
“I…ran here.”
“Kimi…”
“I couldn’t get my keys. They’re with Ollie…and I panicked.”
Kimi was yet to realize it but both him and George were on the ground. Kimi being limp in George’s grip and his head still being buried in his shoulder.
“Do you wanna tell me what happened? I mean it’s okay if you don’t want to but—”
“We got into a fight.”
George shut his mouth, and listened.
“I was avoiding him. Stupid, I know. He pulled me aside right after dinner and asked me why I was avoiding him. And…I didn’t want to tell him.” Kimi took a breath.
“It started out slightly calm at first but then we started yelling. I…was angry. So I yelled at him about how much I loved him.”
His breath hitched.
“It was all so fast but he told me it was ‘casual’. I don’t think he did it on purpose…but I screamed at him about it anyways.”
“And the reason I yelled…” Kimi’s voice quivered. “It was because he came home drunk about a week ago. I was walking him back to our room and he started saying things like, my lips were ‘kissable’.”
“Eventually what he was saying turned kind of serious. Ollie said he loved me, which wasn’t a surprise because he’s said it so many times before. But then he said that he didn’t love the girl he was dating, and that he only loved her because she looked like me.”
Kimi buries his face even more into George’s shoulder. “Then…he tried to kiss me and I was gonna go through with it, but I decided not because he was drunk…and I thought he wouldn't want it sober. And—and then he kissed my forehead and told me that he did it so I wouldn’t have to think that he didn’t want it…”
“I’ve been friends with Ollie for so long that I know he’s honest when he’s drunk…” He tenses.
“It—it made me realize other things too. Like…how half the clothes in my closet aren’t mine, they’re his. And how they all smell like his stupid vanilla cologne. Even my clothes smell like it, it’s unbelieveable!” Kimi laughed slightly.
“I can tell, mate.”
“Shut up George, you’re just proving my point.”
“Be honest, you like him right? And you told me he confessed to you while he was drunk?”
“Yup.”
“Then you should go for him. Obviously he doesn’t like that girl, he likes you.”
There’s a pause from Kimi as he slowly gets to his feet, George stabilizing him.
“Thank you,” he whispers. “I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
“Do you wanna stay the night? It’s dark out and I don’t imagine you would want to walk back at this time of hour. I’ve got a guest room. I don’t imagine you would want to see Ollie right now, anyways.” George offers.
“Yeah—yeah that would be nice, thank you.”
As soon as Kimi went to the guest room, George made one very important call.
“Alex? Yeah—you owe me five bucks and dinner. No, Kimi doesn’t know, he’s oblivious. I mean—yeah you can come over but Kimi’s taking the guest room so…”
***
Kimi ignored the fact that Alex was currently sprawled across George’s bed and headed straight to the kitchen where George was.
“G’morning Kimi.”
“Hey George. Alex came over last night?”
“Yup, and…” He trailed off, eyeing Kimi.
“Kimi, whose shirt is that?” George asked, laughing.
“Why? I mean it’s the shirt I usually sleep in anyways.”
“It says ‘HAAS’ on it! You drive for Mercedes! Unless…”
He has worn the shirt countless times to bed that he seemed to have forgotten that it was one of Ollie’s. The shirt hung loosely over Kimi’s frame and was a size too big.
“I can explain—”
“Hey George!” Alex slung an arm around the older boy as he walked in. “Hi Kimi, nice shirt!”
Kimi turned a light shade of pink and tried sputtering out excuses as George and Alex laughed.
“Nope. I’m done with you two. I have to head home anyways.”
“Tell me how it turns out with Ollie!”
“Bye George! Oh and I hope your back is okay from sleeping on the couch.” Kimi called out.
There was a beat of silence. “...I never slept on the couch? I slept on my bed like…I always do?”
Kimi’s brows furrowed right before he left. “Wait so that means…”
He looked at George, then Alex. Then back to George again, before muttering, “Ohhh” and leaving.
“What was that all about?” Alex questioned turning to George.
George’s face was flushed, “It’s nothing.”
***
As soon as Kimi walked through the door he was tackled into a hug by Ollie.
“Kimiimsorryforwhatisaidyesterdayand—”
“Slow down, Orsetto!” Kimi laughed, hugging Ollie back with an equal amount of force.
“I didn’t mean what I said yesterday,” his voice cracked towards the end. “I—I’ve been hiding for so long and denying since forever that every time somebody brings something up my only response is, ‘it’s casual’.”
Kimi’s breath hitches. “Kimi I love you. I’ve loved you for so long I—I can’t put it into words.”
“Ti amo piú della luna e del cielo. (I love you more than the moon and the sky.)” Kimi whispers softly into Ollie’s ear.
The two stood still for a moment, both processing what they said. Both asking themselves if it was real. Kimi brought his hand up to Ollie’s face and caressed his cheek.
“I didn’t mean to avoid you,” Kimi whispers. “I was scared. I was scared that if—if you knew we wouldn’t be the same. I didn’t want to be a homewrecker—-”
“But you aren’t.” Ollie cut him off. “You aren’t a homewrecker. Me and that girl broke up days ago. I just never got to tell you because I was never in the same room as you.”
“I thought I loved her but I realized that through her I’ve only ever loved you.”
“Ols…”
Ollie continued rambling on his sorry apologies that Kimi was definitely not listening to since he was busy staring at his lips.
“Ollie!”
The taller boy stopped rambling.
“...Yes?”
“Shut up and kiss me.”
Ollie nods and hesitates for a second inches away from Kimi’s lips before taking a good look at the younger boy to make sure the moment was real before Kimi grabs his collar and pulls him down to his lips. Kimi kisses him like he’s hungry, like he’s been waiting for years.
The kiss deepens as Ollie grabs Kimi by the waist and pushes him against the kitchen counter. The taller boy’s lips taste like chapstick—vanilla chapstick.
The two break apart the kiss, breathing heavily. And for the first time Kimi realized what George was talking about. He does look at Ollie like he hung the moon and stars. And he might as well have done so because Kimi looks at him with such intent you would think he was under a love potion.
Ollie leaned in for another kiss and this time, he did it with no hesitance. For a moment neither of them paid attention to the problems that had happened last week, or the week before. Or, hell, even the whole year! All they could focus on was each other.
Ollie supported Kimi’s back with one hand while the other cupped the sides of his face. Kimi entangled his fingers in Ollie’s hair as the taller boy stabilized him against the kitchen counter.
“Do you remember—” Ollie asked in between kisses. “When—Toto said—that you won driver of the day—because of your looks.” Kimi kissed him back, cutting him off completely.
“Yes—yes I do remember that.”
“Well,” Ollie kissed him again. “I fully believe it.”
“Don’t make me blush.”
The kisses were slow, messy, but it was everything. Every touch, every glance, it all added up to this exact moment. Every taste Kimi got of Ollie’s lips felt like getting closer and closer to heaven.
Ollie holds Kimi as if loosening the grip would mean letting go. Every moment is savored by both of them.
“What are we?” Ollie asked breathlessly.
“Lovers, of course. I wouldn’t want Crofty to do another ‘everything but a lover’ commentary statement.” Kimi whispers.
“Oh shut it, we won’t end up like Lewis and Nico.”
Kimi leans forward and wraps one arm around Ollie’s shoulder, his hand cupped behind his neck. Slowly. That’s the only way Ollie can describe it. He slowly presses his lips onto Ollie’s jaw as if the taller boy were the most delicate thing on planet Earth.
The kisses being placed on his jaw turn into kisses being placed on his neck. Kimi can smell the cologne that infects nearly every piece of clothing he owns. Soon enough the kisses are making their way down to Ollie’s collarbone.
In the world, there are so many things Kimi wants. But currently, the only thing he wants and is focused on is Ollie.
Kimi, Ollie realizes, is addicting. The way his hair curls, or how his eyes look in the sun, or his accent, or how he kisses him. Everything.
Just then, there was a knock at the door.
“Shoot,” Kimi whispers into Ollie’s neck, tensing up as the older boy curses under his breath.
Ollie swings the door open, slightly annoyed. Standing in the doorway is George Russell.
“Hey, Ollie! Do you and Kimi want to have dinner with…” He trails off, looking Ollie up and down.
Ollie’s cheeks are flushed, more flushed than they’ve ever been before. His lips are suspiciously swollen and his hair is disheveled. Ollie’s shirt, though he doesn’t notice it, is tugged exposing the left side of his neck down to the collarbone. George raises an eyebrow.
Then, Kimi comes from behind. “Hey, George!”
George’s eyes go slightly wide.
Kimi’s lips are just as swollen as Ollie’s. His cheeks are flushed, even though Kimi’s skin is naturally always flushed. His hair is almost as disheveled as Ollie’s, and he’s breathing heavily.
“...Bad time?”
Both boys nod their heads vigorously.
“Text me if you guys want to join Alex and I for dinner then, yeah? I’ll leave you guys to it.” George winks before leaving.
The door closes, leaving both Kimi and Ollie standing in the proximity of their home.
Ollie’s hand is taken into Kimi’s, each knuckle being peppered with a kiss.
“Love you, Orsetto.”
