Chapter Text
Euridyice thought someone was playing a joke on her when this boy came and asked her to marry him.
But even through the confusion, there was something in her drawing her towards this boy, something she couldn't name or understand.
This random boy, he sang for her, and made a flower for her, and he made her feel like she was the best thing to have happened to him.
Then the storm came, and Orpheus wouldn't respond to her calls, and the storm took her to Hades.
Hades took her to the underworld, and took her name and made her a worker like the rest of them. No one there responded, none of them seemed to have any sense of what was happening. Euridyice began to lose hope.
It took a while, but it turned out Orpheus didn't forget her. And in his quest to save Eurydice, he saved everyone else.
That was when she knew he was her forever. Euridyice would trust Orpheus with her life, and she knew he would do anything to save her, even sing to Hades.
And sing he did. He sang so well Hades let them go back, and she knew Orpheus would lead them back, however, she was worried about the twist. what if he looked back? What if she loses her way? If he looks back it's her that suffers, but she knew Orpheus would never do that on purpose.
It wasn't on purpose, but it happened anyways.
The end was a blur, she tripped, forgot to call back, and Orpheus, the lover that he was, turned back out of worry, unintentionally pushing Eurydice back into Hadestown, where she will be stuck working.
God, she wishes she could go back to try again, but at least the rest of them get to go back up above, and she will wait for Orpheus in every life.
