Yoongi ignored all the unopened boxes lying around in his living room, figuring he really needed this break. He almost had all his essentials needed for his daily routine unpacked anyway, and by tonight or tomorrow, he hopes to set up at least the basics of his music instruments. The rest, such as books and decoration, could wait until he slowly worked on setting up the new apartment fully over the weekend– Seokjin had promised to come help.
He put on a light cardigan to ward off the quickly setting evening chill, grabbing his wallet and phone. Naver maps assured him there was a cafe close by within walking distance, and Yoongi hoped on grabbing at least a decent cup of coffee.
He opened the door, stepping out into the hallway and locking it behind him. Slight movement on his left entered the peripheries of his vision, and he turned, meeting wide eyes and tanned muscles.
Namjoon looked as startled as Yoongi felt, rooted in place in a sleeveless tank top and faded sweatpants. A pink flush spread across his face– visible even underneath the large frames of his glasses– before he broke out in a tentative, dimpled, smile.
"Yoongi hyung!?"
"Ah," Yoongi mumbled like an idiot, mind still trying to comprehend what he was seeing. "Yeah. It's me."
"Your new place is the one next to mine?" Namjoon asked excitedly, awkwardness giving way to absolute delight as he laughed about coincidences and made cheeky promises to be a model neighbour.
"Trust me, you'll have absolutely zero complaints about me," Namjoon assured with all the energy of a golden retriever who just made a new friend, thumping a first over his chest proudly.
Yoongi's eyes followed the movement against his will, gaze lingering on the younger's broad chest and the way his biceps had moved. He managed to awkwardly smile back at him, internally screaming.
Contrary to his promises, Yoongi had an inkling that being neighbours with Kim Namjoon came with a whole host of problems, indeed.
He was fucked.
