Chapter 1: chapter 1

Chapter Text

The light glanced off of her face, surging past her to illuminate the man ahead. His dual hair and eyes stood out as he offered a smile to her. Her eyes met his, the rush of emotion almost suffocating her in the moment. Many faces watched her, clad in a white expensive dress, her smile enigmatic, hurrying down the aisle.

The music that played faded into the background, allowing her to move as if hypnotized. Her feet take her ever forward until she stops in front of the man she had loved for the last 6 years of her life. The 23 year old woman grins happily, the whole room sucking in a breath as they watch her, captivated at the two who now face each other in front of the elderly minister. The entire time, the world seemed to fade away until they needed to recite their vows, the blonde woman captivated by Shoto's heterochromatic eyes.

"Todoroki Shoto, do you take this woman to be your wife, to live together in holy matrimony, to love her, to honor her, to comfort her, and to keep her in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?" Shoto searches her face with a pleasant smile, running his thumb over her knuckles. "I do." The notary turns to the nervous blonde, smiling softly at her. "Hirawa Miyu, do you take this man to be your husband, to live together in holy matrimony, to love him, to honor him, to comfort him, and to keep him in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?" Miyu places her eyes on Shoto, her violet eyes bearing into his with loving warmth. "I do," She murmurs, her lips curling into a soft smile.

"By the power vested in me by the Country of Japan, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bri-" He doesn't even get to finish when Shoto's lips completely cover Miyu's, eager to seal the deal finally. Cheers sprung up around them, the whole of class 1a in Attendance, other than Mineta who had passed two years before in a freak accident. Aizawa stood next to Miyu, having been the one to give her away since the woman's own parents had also passed when the girl was a second year.

The two turn to face the rest of the crowd hand in hand, their new wedding bands sparkling in the sunlight through the chapel windows. The stained glass cast beautiful shadows, illuminating Miyu's happy face as she wipes tears of joy from her eyes. "Hey, the bride isn't supposed to cry on her wedding day," Shoto murmurs in her ear, kissing her cheek. A soft giggle escapes her throat and she wraps her arm around his, holding onto him softly. As they walk down the aisle, the many that were invited congratulated the both of them, wishing the two a promising future together.

The two Pros had waited until they were in a stable place to tie the knot, the two of them having been inseparable since their first year, starting out as friends and gradually graduating to lovers. The whole class had known that they had a thing for one another. When it finally came out, not a single one of them were shocked. Now, they were husband and wife. Getting ready to face the world together. Getting ready to spend the rest of their lives together. Or so they thought... If only the world were so simple. If only reality wasn't a bitch. Shoto had vowed sickness and in health, but he could not have known how true that statement would be. Of what it would have foreshadowed for the future. With this, their lives together began. And what A journey it was about to be.
