And with a string of family events coming up, how are you supposed to resist them when they’re looking at you like that from across the table?

And making comments like that when you’ve all gotten some wine into you?

And touching you like that when they’re dragging you into a room upstairs while everyone else is downstairs…

Chapter Text

Your three-bedroom house with a white picket fence in your quiet suburban town was all lit up. Each window in the little house was a square of soft yellow, lamps shining behind the curtains in the navy blanket of the evening.

And behind the downstairs window on the left, you had just finished squealing with excitement on the phone to your best friend.

“Oh my fucking god, Holly, I’m so happy for you,” you breathed, flopping onto the couch. “This is brilliant! You know I have my reservations about Dylan, but if he makes you happy then I’m happy.”

Your eyes caught your husband as he moved past the doorway and you frowned momentarily. He didn’t look all too pleased that you’d been loud.

“… and I just can’t believe I’m going to be married! You’re going to have to give me tips on how to plan. I’m already overwhelmed.”

“Yeah, yeah, I will,” you said, your voice quieter. You picked at the hem of your sweater, chewing absently on your lip. “Listen, I’m so excited for you and you’re going to have to tell me everything in person again when I next see you, but I’ve gotta go…”

“Oh, don’t worry, I’m defo going to have an engagement party!” your best friend said enthusiastically on the other end of the line. “Like, sometime next week. Super soon. I’ll see you there, yeah?”

“Of course.” You smiled. “I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

Dread crept in the moment you hung up. You were no longer safe. You lowered the phone, raising your eyes to the doorway, where you could catch a glimpse of the kitchen and your husband.

Danny was leaning against the counter, staring across the island at you. It was unsettling. His dark eyes were even darker than usual, and he was idly twirling a kitchen knife in his hands. You knew you had to go in and face him. That was what he wanted. You always had to do what he wanted, or there’d be consequences.

Taking a deep breath, you rose from the couch and slipped into the kitchen. Danny’s gaze trailed down and then up your body again, then he turned back to the counter, lowering the knife to the chopping board.

“What was that about? Why were you screaming?”

“I wasn’t sc-“ You sighed. “Dylan proposed to Holly.”

“Oh.” Danny swept the chopped onions aside, then moved on to the next slice. “She said yes?”

“Yeah.” You moved to the fridge. “You need me to do anything?”

Danny shook his head, gave a dry laugh. “No. Not unless I want this kitchen burned down. You never do anything right.”

You frowned.

Danny kept chopping the onions, and you felt your eyes start to prickle. “You’re all excited, huh? Your best friend getting married? Bet you’d love a wedding.”

“Yeah, I would,” you said, leaning against the island. You opened your phone, idly scrolling through Instagram. You smiled at Holly’s engagement post she’d just put up, double-tapping immediately.

“You encourage others’ milestones,” he said casually, sweeping this pile of chopped onion aside, “but you refuse to encourage mine.”

Your smile dropped. You turned to stare at him, blinking away the stinging tears.

“What?”

“I SAID,” Danny cut through the onion with more force than was necessary, “you refuse to encourage mine.”

“Yeah, I heard you, what does that mean?”

“I just find it funny that you’re so hypocritical. You’re so happy that your friend got engaged, that her life’s goals are on track, but you don’t want to have a family.”

You gaped at him. “We do have a family. We’re a family. And I’m just not ready to have children yet.”

“Really? Because that’s not what I’ve heard.”

Shit. You knew he’d overheard your conversation with Billy last week when you’d all hung out. You’d thought he’d be out of earshot when he went to grab his coat, but clearly not.

“Yeah, well, maybe it’s just not the right environment for kids. I mean, look at the way you’re acting right now.”

You stood back and raised an eyebrow at him. Danny still had his back to you, the knife slamming down on the cutting board with each chop, you could see he was tensed all over.

“You think I want to bring a baby into this house,” you breathed, your heart racing at the riskiness of what you were saying, “when you’re acting like a big fucking baby yourself?”

In two strides he was over at you, forcing you back against the counter with the knife at your throat. You trembled under the weight of his body, eyes wide and staring up into his crazed ones.

“I think,” he growled, “you want to shut the fuck up.”

You swallowed, hyper-aware of the blade pressing into the skin of your neck. He held it to you for several long moments, staring down intensely at you as you shook under him, not moving an inch, not speaking a word.

“That’s right,” he murmured. “Do as you’re told.”

Then the knife moved. You let out a shaky breath, lowering your eyes as the tip of the blade trailed down your arm. Danny’s hand gripped your other arm tight, twisting it against the counter painfully; you squeaked as he leaned more of his weight into it, as he leaned in close to your ear.

“I’ve had it with you. We are going to have a baby. I want children, and you’re not taking this away from me.”

You were fucking terrified of the knife biting into the soft flesh of your arm, but his words pissed you off more. You yanked your other arm away from his grasp, shoving against his chest as you glared up at him.

“Seriously? You can’t just DEMAND me to carry your baby, I’m the one who has to birth it -“

Danny’s fist slammed into your jaw and you choked. Stars burst in your vision. A numb pain paralysed your face. You sagged against him as your mind tried to catch up with what had just happened. He snarled down at you, knife now digging into your side, piercing through your top as he resisted the urge to slam it into you.

“And I’M the one who has to fucking WAIT for you until you decide you’re ready! How is this only your fucking decision? When do I get a say in this, huh?” Danny seethed, thrusting the knife up against you. It nicked your skin, making you cry out even as the room span around you. “I’ve waited for years. Your body’s not going to be young forever, you know.”

“I’m - w-well aware - of that - asshole,” you gasped out, trying to straighten up. Danny just pinned you harder against the harsh surface of the countertop, his face twisted in rage. “It’s MY body -“

His fist flew into your face again, this time impacting your temple. You gasped again, breathlessly, your knees giving way from under you; the knife punctured you further and you felt hot blood running down your skin. Danny held you up.

“Yeah, and you’re my wife,” he hissed. “It’s my body too. What’s mine is yours, eh?”

Then he turned, hoisting your body up with a grunt, and deposited you on the island. You were shaking, your skull felt like it was caving in on itself from the hits you’d taken, your side was stinging as blood pulsed out of your wound, and now Danny was fumbling with your jeans. Tears were still burning in your eyes from the onions, and were now spilling out onto your cheeks from the pain.

“You gonna cry for me, honey?” Danny rasped, yanking your jeans and panties away from your hips in one fluid motion, encouraging them from under you and down your legs as you sobbed. “Good. You know I like it when I make you cry. Makes you look so pretty.”

You didn’t have the strength to fight back anymore. If necessary, you could take the morning-after pill. You knew what he was going to do, and you knew he’d kill you if he found out you’d thwarted his plan, but all you could do now was sit here on your kitchen island and take what he was going to give you. You heard the sound of the knife being discarded on the surface beside you, clattering against the granite, whimpered as you heard him unbuckling his belt, slumped against him with your aching chin on his strong shoulder. Dimly, you felt blood dribbling from your throbbing bottom lip, knew he’d probably split it from the force of his knuckles.

“Spread those sexy legs, honey,” Danny said, rubbing himself through your folds. “Let’s make a baby…”

No, no, no… you didn’t want to but it wasn’t like you could voice that. Not if you didn’t want hit a third time. And that bloodied knife was lying there right next to you. With a resigned sob, you accepted your fate and spread your legs wider around his hips as he thrust forward and sheathed himself in you. You choked, scrabbling at his back as he filled you.

“See, isn’t this hot?” Danny murmured into your neck as he rocked slowly into you. “We’ve lost the spark, we need more spontaneity like this… I’ve missed being close to you…”

The reason you hadn’t been intimate with him in a while was glaringly obvious, but you still couldn’t voice this to him. You just whined as he set his pace inside you, slow and hard, slamming you into the granite of the island. Danny was throbbing inside you, he loved it when you cried and shook in fear and went so limp and weak against him, let him take control. He wanted to take complete control of you. He wanted children and he would stop at nothing to get them, he wanted control over every aspect of your life and he wanted you tied down to him forever. He loved those little sounds of pain and fear and reluctant pleasure you were making, loved the way you were submitting to him just like you did every time he had to beat you to bring you into line. It only took a couple of hits at most, every time.

“Yeah, you’re going to make my baby, aren’t you?” Danny slammed into you; you felt him pulsing against your walls. “Gonna fucking - take all of me - gonna pump you full of my load -“

“No, Danny…” you moaned out, then yelped as his hand circled around your throat.

“Yes, Y/N,” he mocked, squeezing as his hips sped up against yours. “Take my cock raw - that’s right, bitch -“

You whimpered feebly, squirming though you knew it was no use. He was selfishly chasing his own high, your needs weren’t even in his head, and he was close. You could tell after years of being with him. This was pointless. You stopped pushing against the granite counter, just let yourself be manhandled, going limp as he came with a shout; his teeth biting down roughly on the skin between your neck and shoulder, he painted your walls white as you cried quietly in his arms.

“You better give me a baby, honey,” said Danny softly, circling his hips into you as he spilled the last of his cum deep inside you. “It’s your duty as a wife.”

The lights of the kitchen were too bright. You stared vaguely at the cupboards opposite, not really seeing them. Your husband slipped out of you, sighing deeply in satisfaction, and you slowly slid off the island, sinking to the floor, shaking.

Behind you, you heard the sound of the onion chopping starting up again.

Billy lounged in your parents’ sun room, beer in hand and feet propped up. Stu had his elbow resting on Billy’s shoulder, chatting animatedly as the front door opened out in the hallway. He hoped this was you arriving. It was boring in here without his sister-in-law. He needed eye candy.

He was lucky that your family was so welcoming to outsiders, bringing in extended family and friends without support systems like they were lost sheep. Your family was huge and very well-off, a sharp contrast to Billy’s. His bio parents were Danny’s very young (at the time) sister and her boyfriend, and they had both since split off and moved far away. His adoptive parents, Danny’s bio parents, were cold. They had never been close with either boy, and your mum could tell, it was obvious to her that Billy had never experienced affection of any kind. They didn’t have any other siblings or extended family.

So when you married Danny, your family essentially adopted them both into it. Billy was grateful he was included in this, as you and him had become friends. He finally felt like he had people who cared about him, who included him.

This was just like Holly, who had been in the foster system right up until she turned eighteen. She had been your best friend all your life, and your family had always welcomed her, she was almost like your sister.

And so your parents had graciously offered to hold her engagement party in their estate.

And now you were standing in the doorway.

Billy barely had time to take in your radiant beauty before he drew a sharp breath.

“Y/N, what happened?” he said, cutting Stu off mid-sentence. He stood, brushing his best friend off and striding towards you.

You smiled awkwardly around the room, at Holly, Stu, his wife who was your older sister Sabrina, two mutual friends and a cousin, and… Billy. Casting a nervous glance behind you down the hall, at where Danny was congratulating Dylan, you moved further into the room and said quietly, “I just fell again. Oops. Silly me, I’m so clumsy.”

You let out a nervous giggle. Billy frowned, craning his neck over your shoulder, and at the sight of his brother he reached behind you and shut the door.

“Come on, be serious,” he said, lightly touching your arm. “This is happening far too often.”

“He’s right, Y/N,” Stu spoke up from the couch; the rest of the room quietened and everyone’s faces turned towards you. Your sister gasped. “Every time we see you you’re walking around with a new bruise on you.”

Sabrina stalked forward, grabbing your arm; Billy’s hand fell away. “Are you OK? What happened? Shit, it looks sore -“

“Sabrina, I’m fine, I’ve went over this with Mum already,” you said wearily. “I just fell. OK, everyone? I’m just really clumsy, I just fell.”

Your sister’s grip on you didn’t loosen. Everyone was still staring at you anxiously, Stu’s eyebrows were knitted together in concern, and Billy’s expression was an enigma; you could never understand what was going through his head. You turned away from them.

“Anyway, hey, Holly! Congrats! I’m so excited for you,” you said brightly, beaming at your best friend, who hesitantly smiled back at you. “Here, I brought you a gift - rosé, obviously -“

You hugged her as Sabrina stood off to the side, her arms folded. She exchanged a glance with her husband, then Billy. Billy shrugged as he returned to the couch, sighing. You couldn’t convince him, not with those huge bruises on your temple and jaw, and that black eye. Not to mention he could see a bandage wrapped around your flank, just above your hip, when you raised your arms and your top lifted. And you were limping.

“Come sit down,” Billy called to you, shifting over and patting the space between him and Stu. Stu eagerly leaned forward, gesturing you over. With a hint of guilt, you glanced quickly at your sister, who was now too busy talking to Holly to notice just how Stu was looking at you right then, then padded over to them.

You sat down, then winced. Your pussy hadn’t fully recovered from the beating it took the other evening. Billy noticed this too.

“It’s sore to sit?” he asked you quietly. You stared into your lap. “Angel, come on… what is my brother doing to you?”

Billy didn’t often refer to you with a nickname, but when he did it made your heart skip a beat. You were tempted to answer truthfully. Especially when his arm slid around your shoulders, making your heart skip another beat then start to race, so hyper-aware of every inch of his skin on yours. Stu’s thigh was nudging against yours as he leaned in, that concerned look on his face easing your worries, coaxing you to spill, and you were opening your mouth…

“Ah, there’s my wife,” his voice drifted in from the doorway, and Billy’s arm fell away. Danny’s hand was on the doorknob, swinging the door open, and he didn’t seem to notice that the whole room was glaring at him. But you didn’t notice this either, because you knew by the tone of his voice and that wicked grin on his face that Billy had been too late, and he’d seen his little brother’s arm around his wife.

His probably pregnant wife. Because Danny had stayed by your side ever since he’d fucked you, and you hadn’t had a chance to slip away to get the morning-after pill. And soon you’d be tied to him forever, not just by marriage. Nothing you could take back by divorce papers. Something physical and permanent.

You were going to have Danny’s baby by any means necessary, and nothing, and nobody, was going to stop him.

Not even his little fucking brother Billy.
