Work Text:
Koo Jungmo had always been told that he was a really good friend.
He was such a good friend that instead of using his free Thursday afternoon to relax or do anything more suited to his personal taste, he was filling in for Seongmin at his part time delivery job.
It had been a very quick and sudden decision but after the younger boy had spent his night miserably tossing and turning in bed he had called out of work for the day, and since the older lady who ran the restaurant was an old friend of Jungmo’s mother, she had eagerly accepted the help once Seongmin had volunteered him to fill in.
So instead of relaxing he's gone to three different apartment buildings, accidentally interrupted a business meeting and lastly walked through the front doors to what his phone showed as a racing circuit.
The first thing Jungmo was greeted by was an empty desk.
After exactly one minute of staring at the clock on his phone he could feel a slight panic begin to stir in his chest. He had initially assumed that whoever placed the order was in the bathroom but he couldn’t afford to keep waiting and slow the delivery times down more than he already has, not that he assumed Seongmin would be fired over it, he would just really rather not risk it.
So with one more glance at the name on his phone he called out for a Seo Woobin.
With no response he slowly inched through the front office as he headed for a door that was left propped open on the other side of the room and with just a tiny bit more hesitation Jungmo made sure to call out again for food delivery before he made his way through the door.
As soon as he found himself in some sort of a garage he tried not to think too much on potentially being accused of breaking and entering, his face burned hot at the idea before he opened his mouth to call out again just in time for some guy to come through a different door.
He was moving quickly, his back was immediately to Jungmo as he began to call out for someone. It wasn’t until he was finished that Jungmo cleared his throat in an attempt to make himself known, his confidence wavering by the second as he questioned whether he was just that invisible or if the people here had such little care to leave their establishment this easy to walk through.
“Oh.” The man blinked slowly, clearly startled, as he looked at Jungmo standing there awkwardly with a phone in one hand and a bag in the other. “Not Seongmin this time.”
Jungmo's eyebrows furrowed a bit in interest at the comment. He wasn’t aware that Seongmin really talked to anyone outside of Taeyoung, Allen and himself but he supposed if the guy ordered from the same restaurant so often he was bound to be on friendly enough terms to call Seongmin by name. “I have a delivery for Seo Woobin.”
Whatever reply the guy was planning to give was cut off by the sound of something crashing. Jungmo could only assume it must've been important as a slight wince flashed across the guy’s face; his assumption was only further confirmed as another voice called out an apology before appearing in a quick hurry from around the small corner.
Upon first glance Jungmo can tell who worked here and who was here to use the track. The first guy was wearing casual clothes that could have possibly been a uniform while the new guy was sporting a racing suit that Jungmo had only seen worn in movies, a helmet tucked under his arm and his blonde hair perfectly messy.
Jungmo let his eyes flicker once between the two before settling on the new guy. He didn’t seem to care too much about Jungmo being further in the building than he needed to be as he made his way across the garage, his helmet still supported nicely under his arm as he stopped in front of Jungmo long enough to offer a slight upward twitch of his lips and a small mutter of the words ‘Thank you’ before his hand was reaching to grab the bag of food.
Jungmo found himself paying way too much attention to the slightest brush of their fingertips, his eyes following the boy as he continued across the room to a small table. His attention faltered for a moment, his brain plagued with the urge to say something else to the blonde before he was forced to snap back into what should be his professional work mode. His attention moved back to the first guy as he cleared his throat, now standing closer to Jungmo than he was previously as he extended his hand full of cash out for Jungmo to take.
Jungmo knew his face was flushed as the one in front of him raised an eyebrow at Jungmo's sudden slow movements.
It knocked him back into his senses as he remembered the old lady's slight pleading to do the job professionally and efficiently and he was pretty sure neither of those things meant getting slowed down by a really cute boy.
It was almost a shame that the boy was standing across the room with a cute focused look as he went through the food while Jungmo was left fighting to keep his professionalism intact. He wanted to come up with an excuse to say something but he was only here to deliver food, collect the payment and leave.
“So Seongmin?” the boy in front of him asked once Jungmo took the money.
It's the slightly worried look that confused Jungmo more than anything. He didn't even know Seongmin associated with other people like that. It made him wonder if he just knew the worker or if the blonde was around enough for Seongmin to have learned his name too. “He's just sick.” Jungmo offered, his voice laced with politeness as he realized he had been staring for far too long to not have come across as weird.
“Then tell him Woobin hopes he gets better.” The boy, Seo Woobin, smiled before giving Jungmo a slight gesture towards the door.
Jungmo didn't need to be told anything else as he took the dismissal for what it was. He gave himself a mental pat on the back for not being stupid enough to glance at either of them as he walked out—even if he could hear the hushed whispers that started up before he made it out of the room.
He did his best to forget the stranger.
Or, well he tried to forget. And it had worked for the most part, it wasn't until the following day when Allen asked how he did completing the deliveries that he glanced at Seongmin and had a half fleeting thought to ask if he knew who the pretty boy was.
“Watch out, he might steal your job,” Taeyoung chimed in as he nudged Seongmin's arm.
Seongmin shrugged as he glanced back at Jungmo. “She won't fire me, I have more charm.”
Jungmo's eyebrow was quick to rise as he attempted to straighten his shoulders out. “She said I did great,” he mumbled back, his tone lacking any real threat of defense.
“I think the fact that she knows your mom might've helped with that,” Seongmin replied.
Allen let out a quick laugh as he glanced between the two of them, he paused for a second to give Jungmo a slightly sympathetic look before he turned to Seongmin. “You know, he did help you out.”
“I know,” Seongmin nodded. “I already thanked him and I told him I would pay him for the hours he worked.”
Jungmo opened his mouth to tell them that he knew Seongmin was thankful, the bowl of ramen waiting for him as he got back to his dorm told him that. He also wanted to make sure to tell Seongmin that he didn't really need to pay him, he hadn't minded helping out anyways, but before he could their conversation was interrupted by a sudden loud yell.
All four of their heads immediately snapped towards the direction everyone else in the cafeteria seemed to be turning to. It doesn’t take long for everyone to piece together that it was just some students messing around but as Jungmo stared a second longer, as he looked away from the two students hitting each other to the other other two standing beside them with almost matching unsurprised faces he had to swallow back a silent gasp.
Or, at least he meant for it to be silent, it ended up being more of a noise dying in his throat than it was a gasp but regardless, whatever it was he hadn't meant to do it and he hadn't meant to gain his friends attention back.
He ignored them in favor of staring just a few more seconds, he could feel the pace in his heart quicken as surprise settled in his stomach. The longer he stared the more he realized he wasn’t seeing it wrong—the pretty blonde biker from the racing circuit also happened to attend the same university he goes to. It shouldn’t surprise him that much but Jungmo also noticed the boy happened to still look just as good in normal attire too even as his eyes drifted to the helmet held against his hip.
It was normal to see attention catching attractive people all the time but it was rare for Jungmo to find it hard to look away, for every bone in his body to ache for him to get up and at least try to say something this time.
It's Allen who leaned closer as if attempting to see exactly what it was that had Jungmo's attention, when he seemed to have enough of a guess he nudged Jungmo's arm. “Who's that?” he asked, voice teasing.
Jungmo quickly looked away after that. He didn't even know which one of the four Allen was referring to but it didn’t matter since Jungmo wasn’t aware of who any of them were. “Who?” he echoed back.
“Why are your ears so red?” Seongmin narrowed his eyes as he took notice of the growing embarrassment written all over Jungmo’s face.
“It’s nothing,” Jungmo mumbled dismissively as he let out a small shrug. He knew he was the type that was too easy to read. Deflecting did nothing but further incriminate him. “I just recognized one of them,” he admitted.
“Oh really? How?” Taeyoung asked.
“From one of the deliveries. He was also at the racing circuit.”
“A biker?” Allen questioned as he glanced back again in the direction of where the four were before he turned back to Jungmo, nodding almost impressed. “I didn't think that was your type.”
“I didn't even say anything,” Jungmo whined embarrassed as he avoided meeting any of their eyes.
“So that's what that was,” Seongmin hummed knowingly before he let out a tiny snort. “And I thought it was because you were into Woobin.”
“What do you mean?” Taeyoung asked, confused.
Seongmin shrugged as he gestured at Jungmo. “I asked him how the deliveries went and when he was telling me that Woobin said he hopes I get better he was all red and fidgety.”
Jungmo let out a small sigh as he glanced at Seongmin. “So who is he?” he asked quietly, not bothering to hide the desperation that was clearly written on his face.
“The blonde?” Seongmin questioned before letting out another shrug. “I don't know. I've never seen him before.”
Jungmo frowned at that as he let himself glance back once more as he confirmed that the four, the biker included, weren't standing where they were previously. He wasn't disappointed exactly but he was regretting the fact that he hadn't said anything the first time he saw him. Or this time, even if he knew his friends wouldn’t have let him live it down if he bombed it.
“Would you even talk to him if you did know his name?” Seongmin asked, his tone wasn’t quite rude, just simply curious.
“It would be easier if you were a biker too,” Taeyoung added casually as he took a sip of his drink, eyes widening a bit at the looks the other three immediately sent him. He swallowed the drink slowly as he let out a tiny shrug. “I mean, bikers all usually hang out together, you know? It's a whole thing.” he added as he glanced at Jungmo.
Jungmo felt his eyebrow twitch in interest at the comment. It wouldn't be that far stretched to say he could use a new hobby. Besides, how hard was it to ride a motorbike anyways?
“Jungmo.” Allen frowned as he narrowed his eyes as soon as he noticed the almost distant thinking look on his face. “Come on, just talk to him as yourself.”
“I'll be myself,” Jungmo replied. “Just the biker version of me.”
“Great,” Seongmin mumbled sarcastically as he picked up a leftover grape off his plate to flick over in Taeyoung’s direction. “When we go to his funeral I'm telling everyone it was your fault.”
Jungmo smiled nervously as he looked at Seongmin. He knew he would need to figure out how to ask Seongmin for his help on getting connected to his friend at the racing circuit. It took less than a second for Seongmin to notice his look as he let out a groan before glaring at Jungmo.
“No,” Seongmin said.
Jungmo frowned. “You have a connection to the one place I know he goes. I just need your friend to help me buy a bike.”
“You can’t be serious,” Seongmin complained as soon as Jungmo finished talking. “Woobin and I aren’t even close, Jungmo.”
Jungmo sighed as he felt his shoulders droop. “He likes you enough to ask about you when you aren’t around for one delivery,” he replied.
“As much as I disagree with this plan, the worst he can do is say no,” Allen chimed in helpfully as he glanced between the two of them.
“You’re going to make him quit his job,” Seongmin groaned before he let out a big sigh and shook his head at Jungmo. “Fine.”
Asking a stranger to cover for him, or really asking a stranger for anything, wasn’t Jungmo’s strong suit but with Seongmin and Taeyoung there he had managed to get through a full explanation of how he needed to buy a bike with little hesitation.
“I think you’re weird and this is a really stupid favor to ask for,” Woobin replied as he stared back at Jungmo. “But Seongmin is vouching that you at the least aren’t a murderer or a creep so as long as you tend to the motorbike and don’t plan to abandon it here then I don’t care.”
Jungmo nodded as he muttered back an appreciative thanks before he watched Woobin pull Seongmin to the side. He knew they were talking about him but the loud sigh and slow head nod from Woobin seemed to show that Seongmin had eased his worries.
Jungmo was glad for it. He wasn’t coming here to be disruptful or ruin anything. If he learned the act of riding a motorbike just because of a really, really cute biker then at least he had something new to add to his list of hobbies.

Ham Wonjin had always known growing up that one day he wanted to be an actor. He liked the idea of bringing stories to life just as much as he liked the feeling of getting immersed in a role.
He always made sure to do more than just simply read a few lines and call it a day.
Everytime he reads over the description of his character he takes a moment to stop and consider even the smallest aspects of the role. He had never really been the type to do things halfheartedly and it didn’t matter whether it was a role he had been hoping for or something small in the background of one scene. He always made sure to put the same amount of effort into both.
After all, building his resume, gaining experience and doing something he’s passionate about should be what mattered in the end anyways, and it does, which is why he always gratefully accepted any role he was given and put everything he could into it.
Even if it meant learning how to ride a motorbike.
Truthfully, at first Wonjin had only assumed he would need to stand with other people who perhaps looked a little more true to the role than he did but after further reading the script he realized that wasn't quite what was going to happen.
So he had a lot to prepare for, he had a lot to study and for his own safety, he had a lot of training to do.
There was a mix of excitement and disbelief stirring in his stomach as he received confirmation that he would be given a motorbike. He listened intently to the dos and dont's, to the small warning of any damages and the fines it'll bring and even to the reminder that in the end, it's for work.
It's Serim who came up with the idea to go to the racing circuit as he knew someone who worked there.
The first thing Wonjin ended up hearing directly from Woobin was the simple and blunt fact that he was far from a professional rider—to which Wonjin was quick to make it clear that it was fine, he didn’t need a professional he just needed to get the basics down and with a short explanation of why he needed to learn and another reminder that whatever happened was on him, Woobin had agreed to teach him some things and made sure to give him a friendly tip on when the place was the most empty.
So Wonjin made it a habit to go to the racing circuit every Thursday afternoon after his classes.
The first time he went he had to listen to a bunch of safety rules before he’s even allowed to stand close to the bike the school had lent him. The second time he went Woobin had given him an entire tour before spending an hour quizzing Wonjin on mechanical questions and making him watch a thirty minute simulator video. The third time he officially met an instructor who told him he was quite capable of riding a bike in no time, he just needed to work on his endurance and control.
Every time after that he made sure to practice different things, even if it meant just listening to Woobin gossip about the real bikers he met that occasionally came by.
It was just like any other normal Thursday afternoon when Wonjin arrived at the racing circuit only to be greeted by a weird look from Woobin before he heard the words “Good Luck.”
There was no follow up, no explanation and no context. Just two simple words before he was walking away to answer the phone, leaving Wonjin to head into the garage on his own.
While the first part was a bit unusual, the second part wasn’t. Wonjin had grown quite comfortable coming and going over the past few weeks, his growing friendship with Woobin through Serim was going well and the fact that he was almost always the only other person there helped a lot so he was fine, except as soon as he entered the garage, he found his steps faltering as his eyes landed on a boy pacing back and forth in front of a bike.
It wasn’t until the tall boy turned around that Wonjin squinted his eyes as he tried to place where he had seen him before.
“Oh,” The boy grinned, pausing long enough to wipe his hands across the front of his shirt before he gave a slight nod towards Wonjin. “Hi.”
It was the almost shy smile after he spoke that made it click together for Wonjin. “The delivery boy.”
The slow fall of the boy’s smile made Wonjin freeze despite being the fact that he was fairly certain that’s who this was. “Sorry. Not delivery boy?” he frowned, his eyebrows furrowing confused as he thought back to last week. He was positive that this was definitely the same guy he had asked Woobin about.
“No, uh, that was just a one time thing,” The boy replied as he shifted awkwardly.
Wonjin nodded slowly as he realized that was probably why Woobin had told him he had never seen that specific delivery boy before. The cute delivery boy was not actually a delivery boy and was instead a cute biker, it was just a bit different from what Wonjin had initially thought, but he still felt that same weird sense of intriguedness.
“So, what’s wrong with it?” Wonjin asked as he gestured towards the motorbike in front of the boy.
“What? Oh..” The boy trailed off as he glanced back at the bike before he turned back to Wonjin, a clear look of uncertainty written on his face. “Nothing. I think.”
“You think?”
“Yeah.” The boy nodded. “I'm just.. doing some checkups.”
“Oh,” Wonjin nodded back before he finally turned to head towards his own bike, except it was just as he put one foot in front of the other that he realized something didn't quite make sense. “Hey,” he called out as he glanced at the boy again. “How long have you known Woobin?” he asked.
“Not long.” The boy shrugged. “I met him through a friend.”
“Hm,” Wonjin nodded. He couldn't really say anything to that as he technically also knew Woobin through a friend, but it had taken Woobin an entire week to leave Wonjin unattended—Not to mention there was something slightly shifty in his expression as he said it but Wonjin didn't know the boy well enough to call him out on it so he simply let it go.
It didn't matter anyways, his confusion was quickly wiped away as just as fast as he could blink the boy was stepping away from the bike, his long legs moving before the rest of him as he tripped over his own foot and proceeded to knock over a bucket that had been placed far too close to the bike to begin with, a fact that Wonjin only knew because he had already been warned about it multiple times now on his own.
He should've warned the stranger but clearly neither of them had been paying attention and now Wonjin was stuck staring as the boy inhaled sharply, his eyes squeezing shut in clear embarrassment.
“It’s okay, you can laugh,” The boy groaned as he opened his eyes and looked over at Wonjin before looking around at the mess on the floor, the bottoms of his jeans soaked with liquid.
Wonjin forced the smile on his face away, he wasn’t even laughing at the strange boy, he just found his reaction to the incident a bit..cute. He wasn’t about to say that out loud though so he didn’t bother correcting his assumption, “I can give you a tip to get it out of your clothes.”
“Yeah?” The boy frowned as he glanced up again.
“Mm,” Wonjin nodded slowly. “Buy new pants then it won’t be there.”
“So the random biker is a genius,” The boy mumbled sarcastically.
It was obvious the obvious embarrassment still radiating off of the stranger that caused Wonjin to just smile at the comment. “I prefer Wonjin over random biker,” he replied.
The boy paused at that as a look that Wonjin couldn’t quite make out flashed in his eyes before he was mirroring the smile Wonjin gave him. “I prefer Jungmo.”
“Why did I trust that I could leave you two alone?” Woobin groaned as he made his way back into the main area of the garage, his eyes flickering between the two as he shook his head.
Jungmo let out an awkward laugh as he stepped to the left just enough to stand in front of the spill on the floor. “What do you mean? It’s not that bad.” he scoffed playfully.
“Uh huh,” Woobin deadpanned as he glanced at the motorbike on the other side of Jungmo. “If you planned to spend three hours cleaning a motorbike that doesn’t even look like it needs to be cleaned you could have told me and I would have made sure I didn’t have to deal with the aftermath.” he sighed. “You both can help me clean.”
Wonjin was a little more amused than he needed to be at the wide eyed expression that was lingering on Jungmo’s face. Wonjin didn’t know what the expression was meant to mean but he let out a small cough as he leaned to the side just enough to barely nudge the boy’s shoulder. “You know we’d both love to help clean but don’t you think Jungmo here should get in the shower as soon as possible?”
“Right,” Woobin blinked slowly. “And you?”
Wonjin grinned as he threw a thumb vaguely over his shoulder. “I’m on a strict schedule,” he replied.
“Yeah, nice try,” Woobin shook his head as he copied Wonjin’s movements but instead gestured to a far corner of the room. “Show Jungmo where the cleaning supplies are,” he replied as he shook his head at them again before he began heading back out of the room.
“You don’t have to help. It was my fault,” Jungmo commented as Wonjin kindly but unnecessarily guided him to the corner of the room where a few basic cleaning supplies were kept. It wasn’t really a two man job so Wonjin wasn’t about to complain about Jungmo wanting to clean up his own mess.
Wonjin nodded as he lingered around, he wasn’t lying when he said he was on a schedule but the least he could do was give Jungmo company as he cleaned, afterall he could have warned him about the bucket to begin with. He let out a quiet hum as he walked over to the small table near Jungmo’s bike. He made sure to keep a respectful space from the bike itself, but he did lean a little closer as he eyed Jungmo’s helmet. “Where’d you get your helmet from?” he asked curiously.
Jungmo cleared his throat as he looked over his shoulder at Wonjin for a few seconds before turning back to the mess on the floor. “I got it from a friend,” he answered. His voice sounded awkward and almost robotic.
“So,” Wonjin hummed knowingly. “From Woobin?”
It was almost a funny sight to Wonjin with how quick Jungmo froze, the mop almost dropping from his hands as he glanced back at Wonjin again, this time with furrowed eyebrows and a look that Wonjin couldn’t quite make out.
“I’ve seen him sell a similar one,” Wonjin explained.
Jungmo nodded at that as he turned back to finish cleaning. “You must come to the track a lot.”
Wonjin wasn’t sure that was exactly true, sometimes he did come for the track but there were times he lingered in the garage and went over the mechanics of a motorbike with Woobin or came just to receive tips on how to better his control. At times he came just to hear Woobin talk about how actual bikers acted but he didn’t think any of that mattered to Jungmo so he supposed it was close enough and shrugged. “I try to come once a week.”
After Jungmo finished cleaning the spill up he returned the cleaning supplies back to the corner of the room before joining Wonjin at the table. For a moment they both just stared at the helmet before Jungmo turned his attention back to Wonjin. “Is it best to come once a week?” he asked.
Wonjin frowned as he flicked his gaze from the helmet to Jungmo. Wonjin was hardly the best person to ask that question to, but Jungmo seemed curious. “I don’t know,” he answered honestly. “I just come when I’m not busy with classes,” He paused for a moment before giving a light shrug. “And Woobin told me Thursday’s are pretty empty.”
“It is pretty empty today,” Jungmo joked as he gestured around the garage before glancing back at Wonjin with a tiny peak of a smile.
Wonjin let out a slightly playful hum at that. “It’s usually less empty than this,” he joked back. He felt weirdly amused at the obvious embarrassment that filled Jungmo’s face.
For a moment, Wonjin wasn’t sure Jungmo was going to reply at all but just as he opened his mouth to say something else, Jungmo let out an awkward laugh as he gestured at the bottoms of his jeans. “I should probably change.”
As Wonjin watched Jungmo begin to walk away he felt his head tilt sideways in confusion. “You’re just going to leave your bike?” he asked.
Jungmo faltered as he glanced at the bike. “Oh. Right, uh,” he trailed off as he glanced around the garage, his eyes falling on Woobin as the other boy entered the garage again.
“I’ve got it,” Woobin waved him off. “Go before it seeps through and burns your skin off.”
Jungmo’s eyes widened as he shifted his gaze between Wonjin and Woobin almost worriedly. “That can happen?” he squeaked out.
“No,” Wonjin snorted amusedly. “He was joking.”
“Oh,” Jungmo mumbled, looking almost flushed before he shook his head and shifted just enough to give a light wave to Wonjin. “Bye Wonjin.” he called out as he turned back towards the door.
“Like I’m not even standing here..” Woobin grumbled as he made his way to the motorbike, making sure to send a look in Wonjin’s direction.
Wonjin flicked his gaze from the door as he caught the look Woobin sent him. For a moment neither of them said anything as they stared at each other, one with a look of disbelief and the other with a look that said exactly one thing: he was interested.
—
As soon as Jungmo left the racing circuit he felt a deep sense of relief leave his body. He was not only tired from standing next to a motorbike for hours and ready to relax but he was also so deeply relieved that he hadn’t done that terrible when it came to talking to the cute biker—or as he learned, Wonjin.
He hadn’t talked as much as he really wanted to, he had been more nervous than anticipated but he tried anyway and Wonjin had talked more than he originally expected so he was counting it as a win.
He could barely hold in the excitement as he made his way back to campus, making sure to stop by his own room long enough to shower and change before he made his way to Taeyoung and Seongmin’s dorm. As soon as Taeyoung answered the door and Jungmo entered the room he threw his arms around Seongmin despite the younger’s half faked groan of annoyance.
“I take it you saw him?” Taeyoung laughed from behind them as he shut the door before he made his way to his own bed.
Jungmo nodded as he finally withdrew his arms back to his own sides, a small smile spreading across his face as he relayed everything that had happened in the past few hours to the two of them. After he was done talking he paused long enough to glance between them before he noticed a weird look on Seongmin’s face. “What?” he frowned.
“So you spent three whole hours cleaning a brand new bike that probably didn’t even need to be cleaned as you waited for this stranger to show up and you didn’t even get his number?” Seongmin asked.
Jungmo furrowed his eyebrows as he shook his head. “I learned his name. And he told me he goes there on Thursdays so I plan to go again next week.” he replied.
“I get it. He’s making small moves first,” Taeyoung chimed in before he glanced at Seongmin. “Not everyone can dive head first.”
Seongmin shrugged. “I never said I didn’t get it,” he replied before he let out a small sigh as his phone went off, by the time he picked it up from the bed and read whatever the notification was he was looking back at Jungmo with another weird expression.
“What?” Jungmo frowned again as he tried to lean over and look at the younger’s phone.
“Wonjin?”
Jungmo paused at that as he narrowed his eyes. “What?” he repeated, his confusion evident as Seongmin let out a half amused scoff.
“That’s the bikers name right?” Seongmin guessed as he glanced at his phone before he flicked his gaze back up to Jungmo. “Woobin texted me. He said Wonjin asked about you after you left.”
Taeyoung let out a hum before he shook his head. “Remind me to never trust him with my lovelife,” he commented before he moved to plop down on the other side of Seongmin. “Did he say what he asked about?”
Jungmo could feel the way his heart began to beat faster as he looked up at Seongmin again. “Is it bad?” he asked quietly. He only felt a tiny bit embarrassed at the way both Taeyoung and Seongmin looked at him.
“No,” Seongmin answered as he shrugged before he turned his phone towards Jungmo. “I mean it’s not that much in general? He just asked if Woobin knew if you planned to come around again. Woobin told him that he wasn’t sure but probably. And he also told him that you both go to the same school.”
If Wonjin wanted to see him again that meant that Jungmo had successfully left some kind of impression on him. The thought alone made it hard for Jungmo to even try to hide the smile on his face even though he could see the way Taeyoung nudged Seongmin in an attempt to knock him into Jungmo teasingly.
“How did you get that lucky for the guy you saw once and became interested in to show the same interest in you?” Taeyoung groaned as he leaned back on the bed. “The year’s going to end with Jungmo getting a boyfriend,” he sighed before he lifted his hand high enough to knock his knuckles on Seongmin’s back. “We need to step it up.”
Jungmo cleared his throat as he shook his head, his face was too flushed to pretend like he wasn’t thrilled over the message from Woobin but he still let out a small breath as he tried to be reasonable. “We don’t know that it’s like that.”
“How else would he mean it?” Taeyoung asked back as he sat up again and leaned around Seongmin to look at Jungmo. “I don’t usually ask about people unless I want to get to know them.”
Jungmo could argue that he was asking in hopes of making a new biker friend but the truth was neither he nor Taeyoung knew how Wonjin meant it, which meant Jungmo just had to put himself out there a little more the next time he went to the racing circuit.
Despite keeping it in mind that he was well aware of the fact that he wasn’t the best at being outgoing but still had high hopes of talking to Wonjin, he still managed to blank the next time he ran into Wonjin—Or, to put it more frankly, when Wonjin literally ran into Allen.
The truth was both Jungmo and Allen had been so distracted by the argument that Taeyoung and Seongmin were having that neither one of them seemed to be paying attention to the students around them, it was only after Allen had been bumped into causing him to startle backwards into Jungmo before he naturally turned to apologize to whoever he might have been in the way of that made Jungmo finally look over at what caused the commotion.
The first thing Jungmo heard was “It’s okay, it was my fault.” before he looked up to see Wonjin standing there with a similar looking polite grin that Jungmo had first seen on him that day when he delivered food to the racing circuit.
However as soon as Wonjin flicked his gaze over and a look of recognition passed over his face a real smile was replacing the polite one.
“Jungmo.” Wonjin greeted.
“Hi.” Jungmo replied as he tried his best to bite down the huge grin he could feel threatening to spread across his face. He could hear Taeyoung snort from beside him and it took everything in him to not look at him as he cleared his throat. “Wonjin, these are my friends Taeyoung, Seongmin and Allen. This is Wonjin, from uh.. the racing circuit.” he explained as he made sure to gesture at each one of them as he said their names.
Jungmo was doing his best to appear as casual as he could. He just hoped that for once his friends knew what not to say.
“Wonjin,” Allen repeated as he politely nodded his head in the boy’s direction, not even a second later he glanced at Jungmo and raised his eyebrow. Jungmo held back on saying anything as he looked away. He knew everything was probably so obvious and that if he hadn’t embarrassed himself before then he was probably going to today.
He was so caught up with Allen that he almost missed Taeyoung sliding past him as he approached Wonjin.
“So, Wonjin,” Taeyoung started as he made sure to gesture at the four of them as he continued. “Do you want to join us for lunch?” he asked.
Jungmo felt his eyes widen as soon as he heard the words leave Taeyoung’s mouth. He wanted to groan out of embarrassment at the surprised look that flashed across Wonjin’s face but he knew that would just double his embarrassment so he let out an awkward laugh as he stepped closer to Taeyoung. “Ignore him,” Jungmo blurted out as he glanced at Wonjin. “You don’t have to have lunch with us. He shouldn’t have asked. That was weird. He’s weird.”
Wonjin raised his eyebrow as he looked back at Jungmo before he let out a tiny shrug. “I don’t think it was that weird,” he replied. For a moment that was all he said as he stared back at Jungmo but then he cleared his throat. “But I can’t.”
“Right.” Jungmo nodded slowly in understanding. He really hoped Wonjin couldn’t read the embarrassment written all over him. He didn’t even really know Wonjin and he wasn’t even the one who asked but he still couldn’t quite shake the small ounce of rejection that he could feel building in the pit of his stomach.
“Not today,” Wonjin continued as he gestured vaguely behind him. “I have class,” he replied as he flicked his gaze from each one of them before settling on Jungmo. “Another day?”
Jungmo could barely breathe as he nodded. ”Yeah. Yes.” he replied before he cleared his throat and ignored whoever was snorting next to him. “You should get to class,” he added, voice just a tiny bit softer than it was before.
Despite nodding in agreement, Wonjin didn’t immediately make any movements to leave, instead he looked at the ground once glancing back up at Jungmo. “I can give you my number.”
Jungmo nodded almost frozen as he handed his phone over to Wonjin. There was an obvious look of giddyness that flickered across his face as Wonjin handed him his phone with the new contact screen pulled up. Jungmo was almost too scared to speak in fear of saying the wrong thing and messing this up so he simply nodded again as he made sure to send a message so that Wonjin would have his number too.
“Okay,” Wonjin smiled. “Another day.”
Jungmo nodded. “Another day,” he repeated as he gave another light wave to Wonjin before the boy was mumbling bye to the four of them and heading in the opposite direction.
Taeyoung waited for Wonjin to walk far enough away before he let out a playful scoff as he stepped closer to nudge Jungmo’s shoulder. “Yeah, I meant what I said about you getting a boyfriend before the end of the year,” he teased, his grin only widening at the flushed look Jungmo sent him.
Allen snorted at Taeyoung before he leaned closer to peek over Jungmo’s shoulder as he watched him unlock his phone. “So are you going to text or call him?” he asked.
Jungmo paused as he scanned the unsaved number at least three times. He knew it was real considering he had sent it from Wonjin’s phone itself but he still felt almost too giddy as if he was somehow lucking out too much.
First Wonjin had asked Woobin about him and now he was giving his number to Jungmo and telling him he could do lunch another day even though Taeyoung had been the one to invite him—he knew realistically it made sense considering he was the one who had met Wonjin previously but he still felt weirdly happy about it.
But he couldn’t text this soon, Wonjin probably wasn’t even in class yet which meant it was too quick and Jungmo would definitely look weird.
“Soon,” he replied as he took in a big breath as he tried to calm his heart rate down.
Seongmin shook his head almost judgingly. “You of all people trying to be smooth about this is going to backfire on you. You want to talk to him, why do the opposite of that?” he groaned.
“Don’t listen to him,” Taeyoung chimed in as he waved Seongmin off and turned back to Jungmo. “Waiting is good. Just.. don’t wait too long. If you do it right you can be smooth.”
Jungmo sighed as he glanced between the two of them, his mind going back and forth over their advice before he looked back down at his phone screen. He knew he was probably taking this too seriously, and Seongmin was right, he did want to talk to Wonjin.
It wouldn't take much to send a quick text, it was just a matter of what he would say and that was the thing that made him hesitant.
The simplest thing would be to just ask Wonjin when he was free. It would be so easy to send. It was a good mix of not being too desperate but also on par with the whole reason why Wonjin gave him his number.
He just needed to type it out and hit send. It wasn’t that difficult.
Allen must have noticed his hesitation, it was just as soon as Jungmo froze with his fingers over the keyboard that he nudged Jungmo’s arm before gesturing towards the building in front of them. “Let’s eat, you can warm up to the idea of sending it.” he suggested.
—
It’s been three days since Wonjin gave his number to Jungmo. Three days and yet—nothing has happened. Not a single text or call.
It’s not that Wonjin’s really that bothered over it, he knows that realistically Jungmo probably hadn’t seen any reason to text over the weekend or had just been too busy but regardless of whatever rational reason he knew existed, he still sent an annoyed look at Serim and Minhee as they started debating on why he was still staring at his phone without anything playing.
“He’s waiting on that guy he met to text him,” Hyeongjun, the traitor, joined in only to wince a second later as Wonjin reached out enough to just lightly kick at his shin. “What? You said it wasn’t a secret!” he groaned as he kicked his leg out harder in retaliation.
“It’s not a secret,” Wonjin replied as he moved to scoot back on his bed enough to lean against the wall, for a moment he just left his phone opened on his thigh with Jungmo’s contact pulled up, it felt almost cruel to look down at, it was as if it was screaming at him to just hit one tiny button.
Serim must’ve noticed the look on Wonjin’s face as he sat down beside him on the bed. “You know you could just do it first,” he suggested.
Hyeongjun nodded in agreement as he leaned forward on his own bed, shoving Minhee’s feet off his lap in the process. “That’s exactly what I told him!” he groaned before he looked at Wonjin. “Just make the first move.”
Wonjin furrowed his eyebrows as he looked at Hyeongjun. “Who said I wanted to make a move?” he asked back before he paused long enough to glance down at his phone and back up at Hyeongjun. “And even if I did want to, I technically already have,” he added as he gestured at his phone.
Hyeongjun hummed in disagreement. “Didn’t you say his friend invited you to lunch?” he asked as he tilted his head considerably.
“That doesn’t count as a first move,” Wonjin replied. For a moment he shook his head before his own words registered and he narrowed his eyes at Hyeongjun. “Why are we talking about first moves anyways?”
“Because you’re nice and making a new friend would be fun and you also happened to talk to this boy solely because you found him cute. So talking to him and making a move would both be beneficial to you,” Hyeongjun replied as a cheeky grin spread across his face.
Wonjin rolled his eyes as Hyeongjun boasted about being able to read him. A part of Wonjin wanted to ignore all the encouragement and hold out until Jungmo possibly texted or called just to be annoying but truthfully, a bigger part of him wanted to talk to Jungmo.
He could wait it out and see whether Jungmo showed up at the racing circuit Thursday or he could reach out first.
It didn’t take long for him to decide to just try once. If Jungmo didn’t answer then Wonjin would just wait for him to reach out. There was no need to think about it so much, not when it wasn’t that big a deal.
He ignored the unnecessary high five that Hyeongjun and Serim shared as he brought his phone up to his ear, the sound of ringing filled his eardrums for exactly five seconds before the call was connected.
The first words Wonjin heard was “I was going to call you.” and what made it interesting wasn’t the words itself, but more so the way Jungmo blurted it out, as if he had to tell Wonjin before anything else was said.
He also found it a tiny bit cute the way Jungmo continued speaking in a rushed tone, his words nearly tripping up together as he seemingly tried to explain that he was going to call before he corrected himself to reassure Wonjin that he wasn’t annoyed he reached out first.
“Look at him smiling,” Minhee not so secretly whispered as he leaned over to nudge Hyeongjun.
Hyeongjun nodded almost too seriously before he tilted his body towards Minhee. “I know. It’s almost as if he has a crush,” he whispered back just as poorly.
Wonjin rolled his eyes at the both of them before he leaned his head back against the wall as he ignored them and their annoyingly obvious attempts of teasing him. If they were listening to Jungmo ramble they would probably find it cute too. Or they wouldn’t, Wonjin wasn’t sure, but he did know that he found it cute and was barely able to hold back a snort as he cleared his throat. “So, why is it that you didn’t call or text?”
“Oh,” Jungmo coughed as his rambling came to a halt. “Why didn’t I?” he echoed back.
“Mm,” Wonjin hummed as he felt his eyebrows twitch in interest at the dumbfounded sound of Jungmo’s voice. He ignored the other three as he focused on the call, on Jungmo clearing his throat. It was easier to ignore them as he thought about what to say. “Were you nervous?” he asked.
The sound of Jungmo coughing worsened over the phone. “What?” he replied before he let out an all too obvious awkward, forced laugh. “No. That’s not.. I wasn’t nervous.”
Wonjin didn’t know him well enough to read through his tone but he didn’t quite believe him, still he felt nice enough at the moment to let it go, especially as he caught sight of Hyeongjun and Minhee whispering furiously as they gave Wonjin matching thumbs up. It was enough to distract Wonjin for a moment before he remembered that he had been the one to reach out first, so he cleared his throat as he turned back to the call. “Are you going to the racing circuit tomorrow?”
“Me?” Jungmo asked before he let out a mix of a cough and a laugh. “Definietly. What kind of biker would I be if I didn’t go weekly?”
“Right,” Wonjin replied slowly as he decided yet again to let Jungmo and his weirdly forced laughter go. It would be rude to comment or tease the other about it and it just ends up being Jungmo feeling awkward with a new person. Besides, he was thinking about something far more interesting anyways. “What are you doing Friday night?" he asked as he ignored the sound of Hyeongjun slapping Minhee's arm in excitement.
For a moment there was silence on the other end of the call before Jungmo quietly questioned. “Friday?”
Wonjin let out a hum as he questioned whether the other's voice was quiet out of disinterest or nervousness—he was almost certain it was nervousness. “Yeah, Friday night.” he repeated, his own voice seemed almost weirdly soft, as if he was getting nervous too. He allowed himself to believe it was just a measure to ease Jungmo’s nerves. “Do you want to hang out?”
“Yes,” Jungmo answered quicker this time and for some reason Wonjin could tell by the tone of his voice that he was smiling which in return made him smile. “I'd love to.”
“Great,” Wonjin hummed as he quietened down at the noise of someone yelling for Jungmo. It was a bit of a disappointment that he couldn't quite hear what was being yelled as Jungmo let out a startled yell back, effectively drowning out whatever was being said.
“I have to go,” Jungmo mumbled a moment later.
“Okay, see you tomorrow.” Wonjin replied back before they were both mumbling bye as they hung up.
The room was quiet for exactly five seconds before Hyeongjun let out a loud scoff as he looked over at Wonjin with a look of disbelief. “Yeah, there was no reason for you to spend more than half of that short phone call with a cheesy grin on your face.”
“There's no reason for you to be that attracted to Minhee and yet I don't judge you,” Wonjin grumbled back.
“I didn't even say anything,” Minhee mumbled defensively.
“Relax,” Hyeongjun grinned knowingly as he patted Minhee’s knee. “Comparing it to me liking you just confirmed that Wonjin has a crush.”
Wonjin shook his head as he leaned back against the wall again. He wanted to feel annoyed at the obnoxious attempts of teasing but truthfully he felt good, like his mood compared to the last few days was now drastically better. Still, he wasn’t that far gone to let Hyeongjun have the last word. “I don't know him well enough to have a crush.”
“But you think he's cute,” Hyeongjun retaliated.
Wonjin shrugged as if that was an obvious statement to make, and really, maybe it was. He was pretty sure that not a single person that’s passed by Jungmo hasn’t thought he looked good. “You would too if you saw him.”
“Which is exactly why I'm wondering if we're ever going to meet him,” Serim chimed in.
“Oh I’m sure we will,” Minhee said as he made sure to wiggle his eyebrows teasingly.
Wonjin didn’t hesitate to grab the nearest pillow before he tossed it at Minhee’s head in efforts to wipe the annoying grin off his face. “He goes to our school. You’ll probably see him around.” he replied as he glanced at Serim.
“Or, we could just go to the racing circuit with you,” Hyeongjun suggested. “It’s been a while since I’ve seen Woobin.”
Wonjin shook his head at the suggestion. He knew by the growing smirk on Hyeongjun’s face and the knowing look on Serim’s face that they were taking it as if Wonjin wanted to be alone with Jungmo but it wasn’t even that, it was more so him thinking that Jungmo wouldn’t really care about or like it if a bunch of strangers were lingering around annoying him. The idea seemed overwhelming to Wonjin alone, he imagined it would feel a lot worse if it happened to Jungmo directly.
—
The feeling of Wonjin wanting to see him truthfully hadn’t settled in until Jungmo was lingering in the garage of the racing circuit for nearly four hours with the realization that he had never learned what time it is exactly that Wonjin usually shows up.
Jungmo didn’t have much else to do for the day so he wasn’t stressed about it, and really it was more beneficial to him that he arrived earlier than Wonjin did so he could play it off as if he had already been on the track but even that thought alone made him feel a little warm at how much effort he was putting in just because he found Wonjin cute.
It helped that Wonjin had not only asked if he would be here but also asked if he wanted to hangout. Jungmo didn’t know the reason behind it, but he hoped it was something similar to his own thoughts.
After nearly four and a half hours of waiting Jungmo gets so bored that he actually begins to interact with his own personally bought motorbike. He’s done pretty well so far at learning the basic mechanic names if Wonjin happened to ask him something but the thing he hasn’t been able to master just yet is getting on and off the bike smoothly and it was just his luck that he was in the process of trying it yet again when Wonjin finally showed up.
The snort he can hear coming from behind him is enough to make him realize just how foolish he probably looked to whoever happened to walk in. The flush that filled his face was immediate but he was quick to turn around after the bike was properly upright again. “That was my way of greeting you,” he blurted upon looking at the judgy yet amused look on Wonjin’s face.
“Oh really?” Wonjin replied as he glanced from the bike back to Jungmo. “I’m curious to see how you tell me bye then.”
Jungmo felt a weird surge of excitement spark in his stomach as Wonjin flashed him another smile, it was enough to let Jungmo know he was joking around with him. “We aren’t there yet. You still haven’t greeted me,” he replied cheekily.
Wonjin let out a hum before he made his way across the room, his eyes flickering to the bike next to Jungmo as he gestured vaguely. “Can I?” he asked politely.
Jungmo nodded before he stepped out of the way just enough for Wonjin to climb onto the bike in a way that was much smoother than Jungmo had previously. For a moment he was confused on what Wonjin was planning to do as he didn’t think there was any way Wonjin could get off as clumsily as he had but the thought was quickly washed away as instead of climbing off, Wonjin leaned to the side a bit, his head tilting towards Jungmo. “Hey,” Wonjin said as his lips twitched upwards into a light smirk.
Jungmo smiled despite telling himself not to. “That wasn’t a fair greeting, mine was more dramatic,” he mumbled back in an attempt to not appear so pleased.
“Who said I was done?” Wonjin replied before he motioned for Jungmo to step back.
Jungmo complied as he raised his hands mockingly and stepped back but it didn’t take long for his act of indifference to quickly be wiped away as he let out a startled “Wonjin!” as Wonjin climbed off the bike only to slip as he pushed out the kickstand. “Are you okay?” Jungmo asked as he caught hold of Wonjin’s arm, his other hand naturally landing on his waist as he worriedly looked down.
As soon as Jungmo noticed the grin on Wonjin’s face as he looked up, he felt the worry slip away as a fake look of annoyance spread across his face causing Wonjin to snort. “Mine was more dramatic,” Wonjin said before he slipped out of Jungmo’s hold but didn’t bother to move too far away as he gently patted Jungmo’s forearm. “You should start thinking of a grand exit.”
“You didn’t have to make it look so real,” Jungmo huffed as he crossed his arms embarrassed. “How can I top that?”
Wonjin shrugged. “I’ve been told I’m a pretty good actor,” he replied before he leaned back enough to try and peek through the door to a room Woobin was lingering about in. He grinned as he turned back towards Jungmo. “Let’s see who can annoy Woobin first.”
Jungmo grinned back as he nodded. “This I can beat you at.”
In hindsight it takes less than two minutes for Woobin to shoot them both a deadly glare before Wonjin is told to go get ready and Jungmo is told that for safety he needs to either suit up and get on the track or leave early. He doesn’t say the warning to Jungmo in front of Wonjin, which he greatly appreciates as he doesn’t yet want Wonjin to realize he doesn’t technically need to be here but he does mope a little as he waits around for Wonjin to come back so he can at least say bye before cutting their meeting a little short.
When Wonjin finally made his way back into the garage, Jungmo managed to clear his own throat a little too hard before choking back on a little bit of spit. He ignored the weird look Woobin sent him as he selfishly let his eyes roam Wonjin in his biking attire. He knew that if Wonjin just looked up at him for even a second he’d be able to read the look on Jungmo’s face but luckily for him Wonjin was focused on fixing the straps of his gloves so Jungmo let himself look. He allowed himself to bask away in the thought that Wonjin was so attractive it made Jungmo feel almost speechless as his eyes roamed over the tight black suit.
“Does it fit better this time?” Woobin asked as Wonjin finished fixing the gloves on his hand before he finished up by smoothing out the leather jacket. “I ordered a bigger size.”
“It does,” Wonjin answered before looking past Woobin and at Jungmo. For a moment, Jungmo didn’t bother masking the look on his face but the moment Wonjin stepped forward, everything rushed to the center of his mind as he panicked and startled backwards causing his back to ram into a workbench.
Jungmo was too busy fighting off embarrassment to answer either one of them as they asked if he was okay but he did manage a half grin before shooting a thumbs up.
“I’m going to go do something,” Woobin sighed as he took one look between the two of them before heading past the both of them as he left the garage.
Jungmo wanted to ask what the look the two of them shared was about but he shrugged it off as it not being his place to ask, instead he turned back to Wonjin as the other approached him and gestured towards the workbench.
“That was a terrible exit,” Wonjin joked.
Jungmo scoffed as he made a horrible attempt to lean back against the workbench. “What do you mean? It was just the beginning.”
Wonjin rolled his eyes before he tilted his head at Jungmo and gave him an exaggerated look of disbelief, the smile that was peeking through overshadowed the glare he was trying to give. “Oh so you’re not original.”
“I take inspiration at times,” Jungmo grinned back as he tried to keep the rising of his chest as normal as possible. It was hard when Wonjin was standing closer than Jungmo thought was necessary—not that he was complaining, especially not with how good Wonjin looked. “Are you still wanting to hangout tomorrow?” he asked.
Wonjin nodded. “Are you worried I changed my mind or are you just that excited?” he asked as the tone of his voice lifted just a bit to show he was teasing.
Jungmo flushed for a moment before he cleared his throat and forced a neutral look on his face. “You’ve seen how cool I am, maybe you decided you weren’t up to my speed anymore.”
Wonjin laughed as he shook his head, he paused long enough to shift his body enough to rest his hip against the workbench. “I think I can manage.”
Jungmo smiled a little too big at that but he didn’t think Wonjin minded, not with the small grin he sent back. Everything about the moment made Jungmo feel warm all over. He wanted to stay and keep talking, he wanted to stay and watch Wonjin ride his bike but he knew that would only lead to Wonjin questioning why he didn’t join him and he didn’t really have a good enough lie for that yet. “I’ll see you tomorrow then,” he mumbled.
“Oh,” Wonjin nodded. “I didn’t think you’d leave this soon.”
Jungmo was almost positive he imagined the disappointment in Wonjin’s voice but even so it made him feel light on his feet as he gently knocked his knuckles against Wonjin’s arm. “You can blame Woobin.” he joked.
“Right, make it my fault,” Woobin grumbled as he made his way back into the garage just in time to catch the last of their conversation. He passed by both of them to put away some equipment before he turned back to them with an almost bored look on his face.
“Why are you always appearing so randomly?” Wonjin said as he let out a dramatic sigh.
“You..” Woobin spluttered as he raised his hands and gestured around. “I work here,” he groaned before he gestured towards Wonjin. “And in case you forgot we’re on your schedule so hurry up.”
Jungmo laughed as he glanced between the two of them. The easy banter made him way to stay even more but Woobin was right, for safety he didn’t need to go on the track plus Wonjin probably had a routine for when he was here and Jungmo didn’t want to interrupt so with just a tiny bit of a regretful look on his face he turned back to Wonjin. “Tomorrow?”
Wonjin nodded back as he gave Jungmo a light grin. “Tomorrow.”
Despite being nervous Jungmo refused to cancel. He took one deep breath as he arrived at the exact location Wonjin had texted him.
Taeyoung had tried to tell him that Wonjin sending the location text as early as he had meant he must've been up and equally as nervous about the hangout. Jungmo wasn’t sure that was true as he never really sensed a nervous vibe from Wonjin but the thought at least helped ease his own nerves.
As Jungmo arrived outside of the building he was greeted by the sight of Wonjin looking so pretty it almost hurt. He was wearing a dressier white shirt with a black tie paired with a casual pair of jeans. Jungmo could feel his heart beat faster as he watched Wonjin’s eyes shift in every direction until they finally landed on him and he smiled so big it made Jungmo slow in his movement as he swallowed hard enough to get the feeling of his racing heart out of his throat.
The realization that Wonjin was a bit more dressed up than Jungmo expected eased his worries of being overdressed, it made him feel like his sheer sweater covering a white tank top was suddenly a good decision on his end. He knew it looked good, Wonjin’s lingering gaze only further confirmed it and as silly and pointless as it was, it also made Jungmo think that they looked really good together.
“They’re shutting it down soon,” Wonjin said as he gestured towards the small building behind them, the arcade games visible through the windows as well as a closing down sign in the far left window. “I wanted to visit one last time but we can go somewhere else if this isn’t your thing,” he suggested as he looked back up at Jungmo.
Jungmo could already see the excited look on Wonjin’s face and he was pretty sure he’d be the world’s biggest fool to make his face go from one of excitement to one of hiding disappointment. “Just don’t cry when I beat you,” he replied as he shot back a grin of faked confidence.
Wonjin let out a loud laugh as he turned towards the arcade, his hand slipped behind Jungmo’s elbow as he dragged him along inside the building. They paused long enough for Wonjin to exchange his money for tokens before he gestured around the arcade in front of them as he turned back towards Jungmo. “I’ll be nice enough to let you pick the first game.”
Jungmo honestly didn’t want to play as much as he wanted to watch Wonjin play but he knew he couldn’t say that so instead he led them to the nearest machine. It was one he was pretty sure he'd never played before but it was too late to walk away as Wonjin already began to insert the amount of tokens the game asked for. As the game started to load up Jungmo felt another wave of nerves spread through his body, he wasn’t even sure why but all he knew was the moment Wonjin looked at him he felt warm again.
As soon as the screen finished loading Jungmo felt his hand grasp the handle of the fake gun in anticipation, he didn’t think he had much of a shot at winning but the least he could do was not embarrass himself too bad.
At least that was what he told himself. He still made a horrible attempt at a joke as he turned the gun in Wonjin’s direction as the game announced the rules of shooting your target, his lips had just pressed together as he made a fake shooting sound when Wonjin blinked unphased. It was enough to embarrass Jungmo as he turned back towards the game and mumbled out a quick “Sorry.”
It was quickly into the round that Jungmo realized no matter how much he tried, Wonjin just seemed to be better at shooting the targets and as soon as the game ended with his side of the screen reading that he lost he wasn’t even that surprised.
“Jungmo,” Wonjin called out just as Jungmo began to back away to head to another game, he was quick to quirk one of his eyebrows up as he copied Jungmo’s previous joke of aiming the fake gun, only this time Wonjin put his own hand in front of the barrel as he crossed his index finger over his thumb. “What was that about me crying when you beat me?” he asked playfully mockingly.
Jungmo wasn’t fast enough at biting back his grin, it took over his face within seconds as his eyes widened with excitement. He wasn’t even phased by Wonjin’s competitive mocking, not as much as he was at the lame attempt of sending him a finger heart. It caused something in the pit of stomach to burn stronger as he tried to reason with himself that Wonjin wasn’t flirting except he was pretty sure that Wonjin was flirting.
It’s not that Jungmo thought they were on a date but Wonjin was dressed up and he was sending finger hearts as he played into Jungmo’s attempts at humor. The arcade wasn’t that packed but neither of them seemed to mind how close they lingered together as they made their way past games to find another one that suited their tastes. Not to mention Wonjin had asked him to hang out and had sent the location to Jungmo hours before they agreed to meet up and had even given Jungmo the option to go somewhere else if this wasn’t his thing.
Jungmo didn’t want to make the wrong assumption of it being a date but he also didn’t think he was reading Wonjin wrong. It made him feel excited as he stepped up onto the mat of a dancing machine, his own laugh and Wonjin’s mixed together as they halfway attempted to accurately do the dance moves shown on the screen but also spent way too much of their energy focused on making their arms and legs go over into each other’s space.
Jungmo groaned as he watched Wonjin’s score go up higher than his by nearly twenty points, he attempted a halfhearted glare as he turned to look at Wonjin. “You’re cheering a lot for someone who cheated.”
“You’re moping a lot for someone who cheated just as much,” Wonjin retaliated playfully before he began making his way to another gaming machine.
Jungmo was just a little nervous as they decided on a motorbike simulator being their last game, not only was he just not ready to end this hangout with Wonjin just yet but he hoped Wonjin was too focused on winning to pay attention to Jungmo’s poor techniques. He knew there wasn’t much hope for him winning this one either so he focused on at least making sure he didn’t look too foolish all while he tried to sneak a few subtle glances in Wonjin’s direction—although judging by the growing grin on Wonjin’s face as the race came to an end he wasn’t sure if he was being that subtle.
“You could’ve tried harder,” Wonjin teased as he hopped off the motorbike effortlessly, his head tilting to the side playfully as he watched Jungmo slowly climb off. “Come on, if you at least beat me to the store I’ll buy you dessert.”
Jungmo didn’t even get a chance to reply before Wonjin was walking away, his steps faster than they were before as he started for the exit. Despite calling Wonjin a cheater as they got to the convenience store, Jungmo didn’t really complain about paying for their ice cream, especially not when he realized Wonjin wasn’t planning for their hangout to end as he led them to a small sitting area.
“Okay,” Wonjin hummed as he paused long enough to eat some of his ice cream before he focused back on Jungmo. “If you were in a zombie apocalypse and were only allowed to eat other humans, which of your friends would you eat first?” he asked.
Jungmo blinked slowly as he took in the serious expression on Wonjin’s face before he leaned on the table more to consider the question. “Allen. I think he’d be the first to offer himself up, ” he answered before he gestured at Wonjin. “Who would you eat first?”
Wonjin tilted his head for a moment as he narrowed his eyes at Jungmo. “You could be an option,” he sighed as he leaned back long enough to take another lick of his ice cream before he let out a small shrug. “But Minhee would probably be the first to give up on fighting.”
“Oh so I’m the second to be eaten?” Jungmo asked as he faked a look of offense.
“You can fight Minhee to be first,” Wonjin replied before he hummed. “Actually Hyeongjun would probably vote to keep Minhee alive so I guess you’d be first by default.”
Jungmo didn’t know who either of them were but he let out a dramatic pout as he pointed his ice cream towards Wonjin. “In that case you should vote for me so it’s evened out and I’ll be saved,” he replied.
Wonjin laughed as he opened and closed his mouth for a moment before he gestured at Jungmo. “Your turn.”
Jungmo hummed for a moment before he let a tiny smile spread across his face. “If I asked you to get lunch with me tomorrow, would you?” he asked.
Wonjin playfully groaned as he rolled his head around in a circle. “This is a game to get to know each other not to be smooth,” he complained as he raised his finger just to halfway wave it in Jungmo’s direction as if scolding him. The smile on his face however took away any threat his finger might’ve held. “Ask me.”
Jungmo hesitated for a moment before Wonjin raised his eyebrow. It was the tiny glint of excitement that shined in his eyes that washed away the slight fear Jungmo felt. He knew the slight hopeful look on his own face was far too obvious but he took a deep breath as he tried to force a calm expression instead. “Will you get lunch with me tomorrow?”
Wonjin hummed as he tilted his head back and forth before he raised a finger to tap on his chin. “I’ll get lunch with you,” he replied after a moment.
Jungmo grinned in response as he listened to Wonjin scold him in a clearly faked tone of annoyance that he had wasted a question and now Wonjin would have to ask the better question to keep the game going. Jungmo thought it was cute and even though he didn’t say it outloud, he was sure Wonjin could read it on his face. He would gladly sit there for hours and exchange questions with Wonjin and something low in the pit of his stomach told him Wonjin might be on the same page.
Getting lunch together on a university campus is probably not the most romantic thing to do, Jungmo is well aware of that, but he's also very aware that despite the fact that it was just supposed to be a quick lunch together in between their classes, Wonjin not only found a place for them to sit together far out of the view of Jungmo’s friends, but he also didn’t bother to bring any food with him.
The small thought of Wonjin just wanting to hangout again made Jungmo smile. He liked the idea that Wonjin might like his company but he didn’t want to be too obvious so he tried his best to lower his gaze just enough to wipe the smile away, in the process his eyes naturally landed on the helmet Wonjin had resting on the grass next to them.
Wonjin, who apparently had already noticed where Jungmo’s gaze had gone, picked up the helmet as he glanced back up at Jungmo. “I don’t think it’s that interesting but I looked at yours so,” he shrugged as he began to hand the helmet over.
Jungmo hesitated for a moment before he grabbed the helmet as he reminded himself that surely there wasn't any possible way that he could manage to break or damage it, not when he was just getting a closer look after eyeing it so often. Plus he doubted Wonjin would have given it over so easily if he was worried about that happening.
“Does it feel that different from yours?” Wonjin asked curiously as he watched Jungmo gently run his finger along one of the stickers.
“What?” Jungmo frowned confused as he glanced up before realization set in and he pursed his lips as he glanced back down. Technically, he had never really ever worn his own but Wonjin didn’t need to know that. “I wouldn’t know, I’ve never worn yours,” he replied wisely.
For a moment he prided himself on how well he answered until Wonjin gestured at the helmet as if giving him permission. Jungmo could’ve easily said no and made up some fake respect thing but he doubted Wonjin would go for that without giving him a weird look so he cleared his throat as he slowly slid the helmet onto his head. He still didn’t know what was supposed to be different or if there was even anything major considering they were both helmets but if there was an answer he suspected Wonjin knew it.
Luckily, or maybe not so luckily, he didn’t get a chance to really answer if it felt any different, not as he tried to pull the helmet off only to wince as it felt as if it had gotten stuck. He could feel it pulling his hair as he tried to pull it off more only to falter at the sound of Wonjin laughing.
After a little help from Wonjin despite his horrible attempts of hiding his amusement Jungmo managed to get his hair unstuck from the helmet and turned his attention back to Wonjin just to glare out of embarrassment.
“Here,” Wonjin said, his laughter still barely hidden as he leaned forward just enough to be able to reach up as he gently smoothed his hand over the stray strands of Jungmo’s hair. “Do it again.” he mumbled as he slowly pulled his hand back.
Jungmo swallowed as he tried to keep his own hands from shaking as he attempted to keep a steady hold on the helmet. “Why? So you can touch my hair again?” he asked, his voice came out just slightly quieter than he meant it to.
Wonjin rolled his eyes as an obvious grin spread across his face. “I was giving you a shot at redeeming yourself,” he replied as he made a show of dramatically shaking his head.
Jungmo let out a loud sigh as he copied Wonjin’s show of dramatics before he pulled the helmet closer to himself. “Okay, I’ll try again,” he said
“What are we trying again?”
As soon as Jungmo looked up he recognized where the voice came from, not by name, but he at least knew it was one of Wonjin’s friends, the way all three immediately plopped down to make themselves comfortable only further confirmed that, especially as one sat down so close to Wonjin he had no choice but to groan about space as he scooted over, naturally bringing him closer to Jungmo in the process.
“This must be Jungmo,” One of Wonjin’s friends grinned as he looked towards Jungmo, his eyes flickered from the helmet in Jungmo’s hands back up to his face before he looked at Wonjin. “You haven’t told him our names.” he moped.
“Why does he need to know your names?” Wonjin retaliated before he gave a light wave of his hand as if shrugging the entire situation off. “And I did technically,” he mumbled as he nudged his elbow against Jungmo’s to gain his attention. “That’s Hyeongjun, beside him is Minhee and on the other side of you is Serim,” he explained.
“It’s nice to meet you,” Serim said politely as he offered a small smile towards Jungmo.
Minhee gave a slight nod of his head before he gestured at the helmet in Jungmo’s lap. “Are we cosplaying bikers?” he asked.
Jungmo flushed at the question before he began to hand the helmet back to Wonjin only for Wonjin to shake his head as he pushed it back towards Jungmo. “I was just comparing,” he answered as he glanced back at Minhee.
Immediately after he said it, Jungmo regretted his answer. He hoped Wonjin’s friends weren’t too curious to ask him about his own helmet that he obviously didn’t have with him. He had already come up with a fake excuse if Wonjin asked but so many new eyes meant he was likely to stumble and be too obvious.
“Comparing what?” Hyeongjun asked. “Oh wait, is that what you were trying again?”
Jungmo hesitated as he glanced from Hyeongjun to Wonjin, his eyes lingered on the other’s face as he tried to read Wonjin’s expression. He wasn’t sure if Wonjin wanted him around his friends and if he didn’t then Jungmo needed to come up with an excuse to leave, except Wonjin’s face didn’t seem to say anything as he shifted to give Hyeongjun and Minhee a little bit more room, his hand landing on the top of Jungmo’s knee as he stabilized himself and kept from falling over.
The slight touch alone caused Jungmo’s heart to pick up faster than it was beating previously, it made a flush rise to the back of his neck as he forced himself to look away. He knew he looked flustered and it was only slightly shameful that the only escape he had was to slip the helmet back on again.
This time however he knew better than to just yank it off the top of his head, he was careful with slipping it off and seemed to naturally have the instinct to shake his hair this time around. He knew it worked better as Wonjin let out a playful tsk of his tongue and complained about that not being how Jungmo did it before.
“How did he do it before?” Serim asked as he sent a soft smile towards Wonjin. It was the type of smile that Jungmo didn’t think he should see, not with the way Serim then flicked his gaze between the two of them. It made Jungmo feel a lot warmer than he needed to with Wonjin nearly pressed to his side.
“I think it suited him, don’t you think so Wonjin?” Hyeongjun asked as he leaned over Wonjin to grab the helmet from Jungmo before he proceeded to copy the movements of slipping the helmet on and slipping it back off only with a bit more dramatics when it came to shaking his hair out. “How’d I do? Did I do it better?”
Wonjin grabbed the helmet from Hyeongjun as he sent a glare towards him before he gestured at Jungmo. “It worked better for him,” he said as he tilted his head to glance at Jungmo with a weird glint in his eyes before he looked back at his friends.
Jungmo smiled to himself as he felt oddly pleased at Wonjin’s approval. He knew that at least Serim had noticed his weird grin but he was left alone for the most part as everyone else fell into light conversations.
It probably wasn’t the best move on Jungmo’s part as now he had no choice but to pay attention to just how close Wonjin was sitting. Jungmo felt tense almost as he took in Wonjin’s thigh and knee being pressed to his, to the way his hand was resting on his own leg but hanging off just enough to the point his pinky was pressed against a crease in Jungmo’s jeans.
He wondered if he looked as flushed as he felt.
It didn’t take long for his question to be answered as Wonjin nudged his shoulder before tilting his head more towards Jungmo as he whispered. “Are you okay?”
Jungmo felt the urge to call him cute but he was quick to swallow it down with a hot wave of embarrassment following it. Maybe he was that easy to read. “I’m okay,” he answered as he made sure to give Wonjin a small smile.
Jungmo didn’t quite mind being around Wonjin’s friends the longer he allowed himself to sit there and finally pay attention to the entire conversation happening around him. He lasted all the way up until Minhee decided to ask him if he could get a ride on Jungmo’s motorbike instead since Wonjin always told him no.
With no response prepared for that, Jungmo naturally panicked before making up an excuse to leave the conversation as he said that he was going to be late for class.
“So you met his friends.”
Jungmo nodded as he rolled over onto his stomach and turned his head towards Allen. He let out a long dramatic sigh as he watched the older close his textbook to look back at him.
“And you panicked and ran off and now you feel bad? Even though it's been like four hours?” Allen continued as he narrowed his eyes before he let out a small shrug as if sensing that Jungmo was serious despite how ridiculously mopey he sounded. “If it helps you any I doubt Wonjin was offended. He probably didn't even think too much of it. It was just lunch.”
Jungmo knew that was probably true. Wonjin had probably just spent the rest of his time out of class with his friends and gave little thought to how abruptly Jungmo had left but still he wished he had been able to think just a tiny bit quicker so he wouldn't have cut their time together so short.
“Why don't you just call him?” Allen suggested.
“Call him for what?” Jungmo frowned back.
Allen shrugged. “Does it matter? You want to talk to him and you have his number. Use it.” he replied before letting out a small groan as he pushed himself off the bed. “I'm getting in the shower,” he said as he not so subtly flicked his gaze between Jungmo and his phone.
Jungmo groaned as he flopped over onto his back, he kept his eyes focused on the ceiling as he distantly heard the shower start running. He found himself reaching for his phone before he could talk himself out of it.
Despite actively pushing the call button Jungmo still felt his stomach clench with nervousness as soon as the call connected.
“Hello?”
Jungmo squeezed his eyes shut as he tried to let out a breath of confidence without it being noticeable over the phone. “Hi. What are you doing?” he mumbled.
There was a slight shift over the phone before Wonjin let out a quiet hum. “Studying I guess,” he replied.
“Sorry,” Jungmo mumbled out as he threw a hand over his face. “I didn't mean to interrupt.”
“It's fine, it's just some lines,” Wonjin replied before he let out a small groan as another sound of shifting passed through the phone. “What are you doing?” he asked.
“Nothing really,” Jungmo replied. “Just uh..” he trailed off as he tried to think of what to say that wouldn't quite give away that he had done nothing but lay in bed and think about Wonjin.
“Hm,” Wonjin hummed through a bit of a sniffled laugh before he cleared his throat. “Do you want to hang out?”
“Oh,” Jungmo paused as he felt his eyes widen, his heart pounding hard against his chest as he tried to swallow as many nerves as he could. “Shouldn't you study?”
“I could,” Wonjin replied as he let out another small hum. “Or you could come over.”
“I can come over.” Jungmo mumbled quietly as he tried to bite down his grin, he failed to keep it small as Wonjin kept talking and quickly gave Jungmo the directions to his dorm before jokingly telling him to walk slowly so he could clean up a little.
Jungmo was still smiling to himself as he made sure to call out to Allen on his way out of their dorm room.
As soon as Jungmo entered Wonjin’s dorm he felt his eyes glance over everything out of curiosity, a part of it was simply because he wanted to know more about Wonjin in general but he was a little surprised at the lack of biker aesthetic inside of the room.
“You can sit down,” Wonjin said after Jungmo must’ve spent entirely too much time gawking at the room, he gestured towards one of the beds as he finished moving his laptop over to the desk.
Jungmo watched him curiously for a moment as he sat down on the bed. It almost looked like Wonjin was moving around the room fidgeting as if he was nervous but Jungmo was quick to shrug that thought off as Wonjin made his way to sit down on the bed, his demeanor normal and calm as he leaned back on his hands and looked at Jungmo. “What kind of lines were you studying?”
“For a role I have,” Wonjin answered. “I’ve mentioned that I’m in the drama department right?” he asked.
Jungmo shook his head. “What kind of roles do you usually have?” he asked curiously as he tried to picture what kind of actor Wonjin would be.
“I haven’t?” Wonjin frowned as he furrowed his eyebrows confused before he shook his head, shrugging off whatever thought he must’ve had. “I’ve had a few different ones. If I’m lucky I get to pick, other times I just take what I can.”
Jungmo nodded. “What’s the hardest role you’ve had to get into?” he asked as he shifted to face Wonjin more as he watched a certain look flash across Wonjin’s face. It was as if talking about acting was something Wonjin enjoyed doing, which oddly enough made Jungmo feel invested in hearing about it.
“I was in a play one semester for extra credit,” Wonjin answered before he let out a small hum as he flicked his gaze back to Jungmo. “I was the main character’s love interest. It wasn’t easy.”
“Why not?” Jungmo asked.
Wonjin shrugged. “It was one of my first roles and the first time I went into a role without realizing how different it would be from me. It was fun learning how to bring the character to life but the character I was playing was written to do things differently than I would so it took me some time to get used to it.”
“Oh?” Jungmo blinked as he looked back at Wonjin, for a moment that was all they did, their eyes boring into each other before Jungmo felt a warm feeling wash over him, his cheeks and neck heated up within seconds. He didn’t know whether to lean into the feeling or turn away and change the topic. Except, he did know, he just had to inhale and give himself the courage to keep the conversation going. “What was so different?” he asked.
Wonjin’s lips twitched upwards at that before he seemed to smooth his expression back to normal within seconds. “He handled his attraction differently than I would.”
Jungmo was pretty sure it was far too obvious with how hard he had to swallow after that. He could feel whatever ounce of nervousness that had worn off come springing back to life. It was the intent look in Wonjin’s eyes that told Jungmo not to back away from this so Jungmo didn’t back away, instead he made a show of flickering his gaze from where their knees were almost touching up to Wonjin’s face. “How would you handle it?” he asked quietly.
Wonjin let out a hum as he paused long enough to stretch, his knee naturally knocking against Jungmo’s in the progress as he leaned up to sit normally. “I’d probably learn his name,” he answered before letting out a small shrug. “Then I’d probably give him my number.”
“And then what?” Jungmo asked nearly breathlessly as he felt himself knock his knee back against Wonjin’s. He wasn’t stupid, he knew what this was, he knew what their conversation was beating around but despite the excitement he could feel building up he also felt a tad bit nervous.
“I’d hang out with him and get to know him,” Wonjin answered as he boldly let his gaze shift around Jungmo’s face as if checking his reaction before he settled on Jungmo’s lips. “I’d invite him to my dorm and then I’d leave it up to him.”
Jungmo swallowed nervously as he tried to gather any courage that he could find deep within himself. “What if he wanted you to kiss him?”
Wonjin grinned at that as he leaned closer only to pause just before his nose brushed Jungmo’s, it was enough to make Jungmo feel like his heart had leaped up to his throat. “If he asked I’d kiss him.”
“Kiss me.” Jungmo whispered out quickly. For a moment he feared that it was too desperate but just as quick as the thought came Wonjin was leaning in as he brushed their lips together.
The first and second kiss were a lot alike, they were soft and testing, but the third kiss was different. As soon as their lips touched, Wonjin was letting out a soft sound as he gently dug his thumb into Jungmo’s hip before his hand was sliding Jungmo’s back as he guided him to lay back on the bed.
Their lips parted long enough for Jungmo to lay down but by the time Wonjin kissed him again, things were different. It wasn't as tentative but instead was more heated. Jungmo’s hands weren't lingering by his sides anymore and were moving to Wonjin’s hips as Wonjin reached his hand up to angle Jungmo’s chin upwards just enough to better their position.
It made a shiver go down Jungmo’s spine as he took in the contrasting feel of Wonjin’s lips messily meeting his lips to the soft caress of Wonjin's fingers along his jawline.
It was a lot to take in but Jungmo liked it. There was something almost addictive about being on the other end of Wonjin’s touch.
Just as he began to let himself get lost in the feeling, he felt almost guilty at how good he felt. He made sure to kiss Wonjin again before he pulled away.
“Fuck,” Jungmo let out quietly as he took a deep breath, his eyes instantly taking in the flushed look on Wonjin’s face. “I have to tell you something first.”
Wonjin cleared his throat as he tried to scan Jungmo’s face. “You know interrupting what I'm pretty sure we were about to do with those words is never a good thing, right?” he replied.
Despite the joking tone, Jungmo could read the worried, almost fearful look on Wonjin’s face. “It's not bad. It's just.. I never cared to learn to ride, not uh, not before you. I mean I still don't care about the bike part and it's mine I guess but I don't know how to ride it. In case that changes anything for you.”
Wonjin let out one long and slow blink before he laughed hard enough to make himself lose his balance, his face falling down to Jungmo’s chest before he looked up. “I don't know whether to tell you that you're really cute right now or if I should clarify that mine isn’t my bike.”
“It's not?” Jungmo mumbled awkwardly as he tried to keep his heart as calm as he could.
“Not really?” Wonjin shook his head. “I told you, I'm in the drama department. It's for a role. I started taking lessons through Woobin and some guy that's probably way too old to be driving.”
And yeah that was not what Jungmo was expecting to hear. For a moment he considered if he was just an idiot, except despite his lack of realization early on, Wonjin was still laying on top of him with a look in his eyes that Jungmo could feel all too well in his stomach.
“It doesn’t change anything for me,” Wonjin hummed as he slowly leaned back in, his eyebrow twitching upwards in interest as Jungmo nodded as he reached out for him, his grip tightening on his waist. “Does it change anything for you?” he whispered, voice almost too teasing as he leaned in and placed a lingering kiss on Jungmo’s jaw.
Jungmo inhaled as Wonjin continued kissing down the side of his neck. “No,” he sighed as he leaned his head back more, his hands loosening its grip on Wonjin’s shirt.
“Really?” Wonjin questioned before pausing long enough to gently suck on a patch of skin, his hand slowly inching underneath the hem of Jungmo’s shirt as he trailed a soft touch along his stomach and down to the waistband of his pants.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re a biker or not,” Jungmo answered as he shifted against the bed, his attempt at controlling his breath failing miserably as Wonjin sucked harder and drew a tiny, almost missable whimper from Jungmo.
Wonjin let out a small hum against Jungmo’s skin before he started pulling back, his thumb running across the button of Jungmo’s pants. “Are you sure?” he asked.
“Yes,” Jungmo groaned, his face was hot with a mix of arousal and embarrassment as he looked at Wonjin, his eyes almost pleading. “Don't stop.” he whispered out.
Wonjin responded by leaning forward and bringing his lips back to Jungmo. It was something that Jungmo was somehow already so fond of, his stomach filled with such a hot feeling he almost didn't know how to voice that he needed more. So much more.
Jungmo doesn't know if it's the shift in his kiss or if Wonjin is just that turned on as things began to heat up very quickly.
Wonjin’s hands and lips were gone just long enough to help tug Jungmo’s shirt over his head but as soon as Jungmo’s shirt was lost in the mess of whatever's on the floor, Wonjin's hands were back as they trailed hotly against his stomach.
When Wonjin kissed him again, Jungmo could feel himself become lost in the feel of it. He obviously wanted a lot more than just kissing but he wouldn't leave with any complaints if Wonjin just planned to do this the entire time.
His body however ached to be even closer so with just a tiny bit of hesitation he allowed his arms to wrap around Wonjin’s shoulders before pulling them closer together.
Wonjin responded with an encouraging hum and a light squeeze on Jungmo’s hip, both of which drew an embarrassingly easy flush to Jungmo’s face.
When Wonjin pulled away to instead began kissing down Jungmo’s neck all the way to his chest, Jungmo let out a small hum before he was reaching out to tug on Wonjin’s shirt, their hands mutually moving with a sense of urgency as Wonjin tossed his shirt over his head before he was looking at Jungmo as he palmed at the waistband of Jungmo’s pants.
With little hesitation, Jungmo was reaching down to undo the button and zipper on his pants before he was wiggling out of them and as soon as the rest of his clothes were lost to the floor, he reached out to tug at the waistband of Wonjin’s pants.
For a moment he wondered if he was appearing too eager but just as quick as the thought occurred, Wonjin was shifting back just enough to get the rest of his clothes off, his urgency matching Jungmo’s eagerness.
Jungmo wasn’t sure how it was possible to become increasingly attracted to Wonjin, and even though nothing had technically really happened yet, he felt so good. Wonjin was too skilled at what has happened so far, he could only imagine just how good everything else would be.
“Fuck,” Jungmo mumbled out quietly at the thought, his body pressed down more against the bed as Wonjin climbed off just long enough to search through the desk that was in between the two beds. It didn’t take him long to find what he needed before he was back on the bed, his hands gently running along the inside of Jungmo’s thighs before he slowly trailed up, his touches light and almost teasing as he grazed the tips of his fingers along the side of Jungmo’s cock drawing a light shiver from Jungmo.
It was as Wonjin scooted lower on the bed, his hands trailing down Jungmo’s thighs that Jungmo felt his heart rate begin to beat faster. He let out a sharp breath as Wonjin’s hand wrapped around his dick, it was already a bit overwhelming from the feeling alone but when Wonjin didn’t move, Jungmo found himself releasing a tiny sound of frustration.
Wonjin, amused and apparently receiving the reaction he wanted, let out a tiny laugh as he lowered his head, his lips parting as he guided Jungmo into his mouth.
When Wonjin yet again stalled in his movements as he looked up at Jungmo, his eyebrow raised, Jungmo not only felt himself twitch in interest but he swallowed back another sound of frustration.
Wonjin’s response was a light hum that Jungmo could feel too well before Wonjin tentatively flicked his tongue across the tip of Jungmo’s dick.
Jungmo let out a soft groan as he threw his head back. He wasn’t sure if it was fair or not that every new thing Wonjin did was better than the last, but he wasn’t complaining, especially not as Wonjin went from flicking his tongue to taking Jungmo further into his mouth.
“Fuck, Wonjin.” Jungmo groaned as he looked down again, his body squirmed against Wonjin’s bed as he felt another wave of heat pool in the pit of his stomach as Wonjin looked up at him through his eyelashes, his mouth was warm around Jungmo’s length and just as they made eye contact, Wonjin began sucking harder, Jungmo’s light whimpers only seeming to encourage him further.
When Jungmo could feel just how close he was getting, he managed to get out a warning to Wonjin but it was met with a slight hum of acknowledgement as Wonjin pulled up just enough to focus on the head of Jungmo’s cock, his tongue swirling around precum as his hand went back to running along Jungmo’s stomach almost encouragingly.
Jungmo’s breath was shaky as he forced a hand over his mouth, he had never been quite that loud in bed regardless, but there was something about Wonjin’s mouth and hands that was drawing more reactions from him than he thought it would. He barely swallowed back a small whimper of a moan before he felt himself come undone.
Wonjin proceeded to suck him through his orgasm until Jungmo softened in his mouth and even then he flicked his tongue once across the entire top of Jungmo's dick before he pulled off of Jungmo entirely.
Jungmo blinked slowly as he took in the sight of Wonjin, of his wet lips and the drips of cum on his jaw, the shiny look of arousal in his eyes. Jungmo had thought Wonjin was attractive from the moment he saw him, but he was pretty sure he had never wanted to be under someone more than he did right now.
“Wonjin?” Jungmo called out as he cleared his throat, his hands shakily reaching out as he gently pulled Wonjin up by his shoulders.
When Wonjin was close enough Jungmo leaned up to brush their lips together, his hands ran softly against Wonjin’s shoulderblades as he swirled his tongue inside of Wonjin’s mouth, effectively drawing a quiet moan from Wonjin.
They both pulled back after a moment, their breaths uneven and shaky as Jungmo let his eyes flicker up and down Wonjin’s body before settling back on his face. He wondered if the look in his own eyes told Wonjin he wanted more.
“We’re not done right?” Jungmo whispered, despite the fact that his face was hot with embarrassment he was too desperate to know to regret how obvious he was being.
Wonjin let out a low hum of interest. “We can keep going if you want.”
Jungmo nodded as he brushed his lips against Wonjin’s. “Yes,” he whispered, voice almost akin to a whine. “Please.”
“Good,” Wonjin murmured back. “I've been thinking about it.”
Jungmo groaned at that, he almost wanted to ask Wonjin to elaborate a little more but he let it go as Wonjin reached for the lube that he had dropped on the bed earlier. Jungmo watched with an increasing burn building in his stomach as Wonjin spread a large amount of lube on his fingers.
The moment Wonjin gently ran a finger across Jungmo’s entrance he felt his head go back. Despite being prepared for the few seconds Wonjin made him wait, he still felt himself squirm in antagonizing impatience as Wonjin let out a soft hum before warning Jungmo as he began to slowly inch one of his fingers into Jungmo.
The initial feeling was already overwhelming as Wonjin, despite starting slow with his movements, was almost too good at the way he curled his finger. He took his time working Jungmo open enough to take another finger but by the time he got to three fingers he began to pick up the speed.
Jungmo let out a soft whine as Wonjin went from fingering him at a pace that felt overwhelmingly good to his fingers moving almost painfully slow. Everything about it made Jungmo feel as if he was on fire. The movements were enough to bring him further to an orgasm but not quite enough to get him there, and judging by the small grin on Wonjin’s face every time he let out any type of noise, it was probably what he was going for.
Jungmo didn't realize just how much he'd like the feeling of Wonjin being in control but right now he wasn't sure what was better: being fingered by a really pretty boy, or said pretty boy enjoying being in charge of his pleasure.
He wanted this to go for hours. He selfishly wanted Wonjin's roommate to stay gone so that Wonjin could continue to touch him until they physically had to stop. The thought alone made him feel greedy but with how good Wonjin was making him feel, he was pretty sure he didn't mind being called greedy.
"Wonjin," Jungmo groaned as he managed to raise one of his hands to rest it on Wonjin's bicep. For a moment he let himself gawk, he let the tips of his fingers trace over Wonjin’s bare skin to the point he could feel the goosebumps forming. It was nice to look at until Wonjin wiggled his finger just right and Jungmo was reminded of how badly he needed more. "Wonjin, please." he whined out.
"Please what?" Wonjin mumbled back as he leaned forward just enough to brush his lips against Jungmo’s earlobe. "Tell me what you want, Jungmo." he whispered.
"Wonjin," Jungmo groaned. It was supposed to sound annoyed but the moment he tilted his head to the side as another wave of pleasure washed through his stomach he knew it sounded anything but annoyed.
"You want me?" Wonjin asked teasingly before he slowed down the movements of his fingers just enough to draw a couple impatient whimpers from Jungmo.
"Yes," Jungmo whispered back as he shyly turned his head back to Wonjin, his eyes wide and shining with a clear look of want. For once, he was glad he was easy to read. He needed Wonjin to know just how much more he wanted. "I want you," he mumbled, both embarrassed and yet too turned on to care how desperate he sounded.
Wonjin groaned as he narrowed his eyes playfully. "I don't think it's fair you can look this cute while asking someone to fuck you," he mumbled out as he curled his fingers once more before slowly pulling them out.
Jungmo shouldn't have smiled as big as he did at that but he liked the compliment.
Wonjin was fairly quick at slipping the condom on himself and taking care of the lube before he kept his eyes on Jungmo’s face as he began to push himself inside of Jungmo, his movements slowing down more at every twitch on Jungmo’s face until he flushed to Jungmo’s skin. “Tell me when you’re okay.”
Jungmo let out a breath as he told himself to relax as much as he could and after another moment he nodded. “I’m okay.”
Wonjin was still slow at moving despite Jungmo giving him the go ahead but just as Jungmo was about to tell him that he was really okay Wonjin pushed in further than he was before drawing a shaky gasp from Jungmo. He did it two more times before he slowly began to work himself up to a pace that caused him to brush inside Jungmo in ways that had him biting his lip to keep from letting out too many embarrassing noises.
Jungmo almost felt like it was impossible to feel this good, he let out a shaky breath as he brought his hand back up to rest on Wonjin’s arm before trailing it all the way up to the back of his neck as he just looked up at him. Maybe Jungmo was obsessed, that had to be the only reason he could feel this blissed out of his mind and still be paying attention to how pretty Wonjin looked.
It didn’t take long for Wonjin to notice his staring before he leaned down and brushed their lips together again, his hand still pressing against Jungmo’s hip as he kept the pace of his thrusts almost lethal and strategic as Jungmo let out small whimpers into Wonjin’s mouth every time he slowed almost to a stop.
Jungmo didn’t think he would get this hard and this close as quickly as he had but he wasn’t complaining, not when Wonjin was drawing noises from him that he didn’t know he even had inside him and was looking down at him like Jungmo was the best thing he had ever seen.
“Wonjin.” Jungmo moaned out, for a moment he didn’t know if it was a warning that he was close or a pleading for more but Wonjin must’ve taken it as a pleading as he let out a hum of acknowledgement before he slipped his hand down to stroke Jungmo. He let out another almost whimpery plea before Wonjin teasingly ran his thumb over the slit of Jungmo’s cock and Jungmo felt his stomach tighten within seconds, his mouth fell open as he barely managed to tell Wonjin he was coming.
There was a small pleased smile that spread across Wonjin’s face as he gently let go of Jungmo’s hip as he reached his hand up to brush his hair out of his eyes. The soft touch lasted all of five seconds before Jungmo was reaching up to pull Wonjin down so he could kiss him, his tongue eagerly slipping inside Wonjin’s mouth as he gave a strong roll of his hips desperate for Wonjin to feel half as good as he had.
It didn’t take much more for Wonjin to let out a soft moan before he kissed back harder as he came undone inside of Jungmo, his breath shaking heavily as he broke the kiss to pull out. He paused long enough to catch his breath before he was rolling off of Jungmo and leaning over the edge of the bed to throw the condom away.
Jungmo watched breathlessly before he let go of any hesitation as he reached out to urge Wonjin to lay down beside him. He didn’t know how much longer he had until Wonjin’s roommate would be back, or worse how much longer until Wonjin decided he should leave but he wanted to savor this. He grinned softly to himself at how easily Wonjin moved to lay down beside him.
“Shouldn’t you wash up?” Wonjin asked as he leaned onto his side and looked at Jungmo.
Jungmo shrugged at that before he copied the other’s movements and rolled onto his side to face Wonjin, his hesitation obvious as he scanned Wonjin’s face. “Can I just lay here for a moment?” he asked back.
“I wasn’t kicking you out,” Wonjin said slowly before he gently flicked his finger against Jungmo’s chest. “I just didn’t think you’d be comfortable laying here like this,” he explained before he was rolling out of bed and disappearing across the room to grab a pack of wet wipes before he came back and gently wiped Jungmo clean.
There was something about the moment that made Jungmo feel warm all over, the grin that spread across his face was quick and almost embarrassing.
Once Wonjin was done throwing the used wipes away he turned back just in time to see the grin and nearly too soft look Jungmo was sending him. “What?” he mumbled as he plopped back down on the bed and threw half his body across Jungmo’s.
Jungmo shook his head as he raised his hand high enough to thread his fingers through Wonjin’s hair. “Do you really think I'm cute?” he asked.
“Do I?” Wonjin hummed playfully as he drilled the tips of his fingertips on top of Jungmo's chest. He let out a toothy soft grin as Jungmo raised his foot enough to gently kick at Wonjin’s shin. “I do.” he answered honestly
Jungmo smiled at that as he felt Wonjin slowly interlace their fingers together. “I know,” he whispered back. “Woobin told Seongmin you asked about me.”
“He blabbed quicker than I thought,” Wonjin sighed as he shook his head before he raised his eyebrow at Jungmo. “You're not any better. Did you lie about that being your bike?” he asked.
“No,” Jungmo shook his head as he felt his face heat up even more. “It's mine. I bought it after Taeyoung told me that bikers hang together.”
Wonjin hummed, clearly amused. “Somehow I think that might be worse.”
“Is it?” Jungmo asked. “It worked.” he mumbled softly as he raised their connected hands up as if showing them off.
Wonjin rolled his eyes as he gently squeezed Jungmo’s hand. “Did it? I don't remember you calling me cute. What if this is one sided?” he replied as he let out a small dramatic sigh.
Jungmo let out a small giggle of excitement as he gently moved to switch their positions so that his body was laying across the side of Wonjin’s. He grinned as his eyes flickered across Wonjin’s face before he leaned in and gave a small peck from his cheek to his nose and finally to his lips. “I think you're really really cute Wonjin.” he murmured as he nudged his nose against Wonjin’s. “I want to go on a real date with you and repeat tonight for a really long time.”
“Hm, I can make a long time work,” Wonjin replied as he leaned in to kiss Jungmo again softly before he leaned back enough to narrow his eyes. “If you promise to help me annoy Woobin for blabbing.”
Jungmo grinned excitedly as he nodded in agreement. He never really would’ve expected all of this that first day at the racing circuit but now he knew they looked good together, had great sexual chemistry and he was pretty sure they'd work together amazingly.
—
The next morning Wonjin was startled awake abruptly by Jungmo shaking his arm followed by a round of loud knocking on the door.
"Is that your roommate?" Jungmo asked as a look of panic flashed across his face. "We shouldn't have fallen asleep."
Wonjin shrugged it off as he slipped out of bed and stopped by his wardrobe long enough to slip on a pair of shorts and throw on a shirt before he slowly walked to the door giving Jungmo enough time to throw his clothes on. As soon as he opened the door he was met with the sight of Hyeongjun glaring hard.
"When you said stay gone I didn't think you meant the entire night." He complained as he shoved past Wonjin only to stop abruptly at the sight of Jungmo. "Oh. He's still.." he trailed off slowly.
Wonjin only felt slightly offended at the amount of surprise in Hyeongjun's voice.
"Sorry, I was just leaving," Jungmo mumbled embarrassed as he started for the door, his eyes not quite meeting either one of them before he hesitantly looked up at Wonjin right as he reached the door.
It was the nervous look on Jungmo’s face that made Wonjin reach over to playfully push Hyeongjun's head in the other direction before he was leaning up on the tips of his toes to peck Jungmo’s lips once. It drew a light almost giggle sound from Jungmo before he was pecking Wonjin’s cheek in return, his nose brushing against his skin before he pulled back and slipped out of the room.
The silence between the two left lasted all of five seconds. Hyeongjun was quick to nudge his hand against Wonjin’s arm as he wiggled his eyebrows up and down. "Oh?"
Wonjin sighed as he closed the door and took two steps before throwing his body back on his bed as he buried his face into his blanket. "What about it?"
"Should I ignore your obvious red ears?" Hyeongjun asked teasingly as he made his way to his own bed. "Come on. I'm your best friend, tell me."
Wonjin smiled into the privacy of the blanket before he turned his head to glance at Hyeongjun. "I don't think you want details."
"Gross," Hyeongjun fake gagged before a softer smile spread across his face. "Do you finally have a boyfriend?"
"Ah.." Wonjin frowned as he felt his eyebrows furrow on their own. "I don't think we established a label exactly?" he mumbled awkwardly. "But I think so."
Hyeongjun groaned as he leaned back enough to grab one of the small head pillows to throw it at Wonjin. "Don't ruin this for yourself. He seems nice."
Wonjin glared as he barely had time to reach his hand out to knock the pillow out of his way. "We fell asleep talking about one of his dorky animes and I can still tell you everything he said," he mumbled as he turned over onto his back, a small pleased sigh left his throat without his permission. "I'm not ruining it," he replied before he turned his head to playfully glare. "You ruined it by coming back early and kicking him out."
"Hey I didn't kick him out! He left on his own," Hyeongjun complained before he let out a small hum. "He was embarrassed right? You should probably not mention his shirt being on inside out."
Wonjin smiled to himself as he hummed back knowing full well that he would comment on it to Jungmo later.
Later actually ends up being nearly an hour later.
Wonjin was still laying in bed with his laptop and printed lines laid out on the bed beside him when his phone started to ring. He felt more pleased than surprised to see Jungmo’s name written on the top of his screen before he hit answer.
"Are you sleeping?" Jungmo asked almost immediately upon the call connecting.
Wonjin hummed, confused. "Shouldn't you think about that before calling someone?" he replied before he gently shut his laptop, his mind already far from studying as he listened to Jungmo not so subtly tell someone to stop eavesdropping. "But no, I'm not sleeping. Why?"
"Allen wanted me to invite you to breakfast," Jungmo replied quietly.
"Funny," Wonjin replied. "I don't remember kissing Allen for him to be the one to want to see me."
Jungmo let out a soft groan before he must've moved causing a slight shifting sound to fill Wonjin’s ears as he waited for a reply. "I wanted to invite you. I want to see you again," he clarified before he cleared his throat, obviously embarrassed. "I was just worried it'd be too soon."
Wonjin was quiet for a moment as he thought back to his conversation with Hyeongjun. "Are you the type of boyfriend to pay for breakfast?" he asked.
"What?"
"I'll go," Wonjin said. "If you pay for my breakfast."
"As your boyfriend?" Jungmo repeated softly.
"Mm," Wonjin hummed softly. "Unless Allen's in the way of us being together?" he tried to joke in a way that he figured would ease Jungmo’s nerves.
Jungmo's laugh through the phone was almost too addictive. If Wonjin had to describe it, he would've said Jungmo’s laugh was warm and almost softer than usual. "I liked you first. Allen can find someone else."
Wonjin felt himself laugh as he heard Allen ask what was going on. "You can be the one to break Allen's heart then," he replied. "You didn't answer my question, Jungmo." he murmured.
"I don't know if I'm the type of boyfriend to pay," Jungmo answered. "But I can be for you."
"That felt smooth to say didn't it?" Wonjin laughed as he felt his cheeks get bigger and realized with a slight startle that he was smiling way harder than he expected himself to.
Jungmo let out a playful groan. "It was smooth," he said defensively before he mumbled something to someone off the phone. "Can you meet us soon?" he asked.
"Yeah," Wonjin answered as he mumbled out a quick bye.
He debated waking Hyeongjun up but as soon as he received a text from Jungmo telling him where they were at he quickly decided to just go ahead.
It doesn't take him long to get to Jungmo and his friends. Almost immediately Wonjin can hear the sound of someone letting out a playful coo before giving Jungmo a gentle shove towards Wonjin.
The nervous look on Jungmo’s face brought out Wonjin's natural instinct to tease. "What is it?" he asked as he felt his lips twitch into a grin.
"Nothing," Jungmo shook his head before a questioning look flashed across his face.
Wonjin hummed as he shrugged as nonchalantly as he could before slipping past Jungmo. He wasn't surprised at all when Jungmo made a small strangled noise before grabbing at his shirt sleeve as he fell back into step with them.
"Did you mean it?" Jungmo blurted out nervously as he eyed Wonjin carefully. "If I pay for you?"
Wonjin softly nodded his head as he watched the excited pure look of happiness flicker across Jungmo’s face. "You don't have to pay," he said before he gently knocked the tips of his fingers against the back of Jungmo’s hand. "But I meant the boyfriend part."
Jungmo grinned at that before he slipped his hand into Wonjin’s and gently tugged him closer despite the sound of someone teasingly calling his name behind them. "Ignore them please," he groaned out as he ducked his head enough to rest his forehead on Wonjin’s shoulder.
Wonjin laughed as he leaned back enough to look behind them before he turned back to Jungmo. "I think it's cute."
"My friends teasing me?"
"How embarrassed you get," Wonjin corrected before he was tugging Jungmo along with him as they made their way to the others.
Wonjin was pleased to spend an entire hour with his leg pressed warmly to Jungmo’s as he got to know Jungmo’s friends.
"Does Woobin know this is a thing yet?" Seongmin asked curiously as he gestured between them.
"I’m pretty sure he saw it coming," Wonjin answered honestly.
"He's going to be relieved when you stop going to the racing circuit," Taeyoung joked as he nudged Jungmo’s arm.
"Speaking of that, what are you doing with the bike now that you don't need Wonjin’s attention?" Allen asked.
Jungmo groaned embarrassed as he sent a weak glare in Allen's direction. "Did you have to say it like that?"
"It sounds pretty accurate to me," Wonjin chimed in as he shot an annoyingly large grin at Jungmo.
Taeyoung laughed at the two of them before he leaned closer to the table. "What if I take the bike?" he questioned. "I can find my own non Wonjin-like Wonjin."
"A non Wonjin-like Wonjin?" Jungmo repeated, confused.
Taeyoung nodded. "Yeah, meeting someone cute who ends up liking me in a weirdly fond way but not at all Wonjin-like."
"I won't attend your funeral," Seongmin chimed in unimpressed before he glanced at Jungmo. "And I'll be planning yours if you sell it to him."
Jungmo sent a large dorky grin at Seongmin before he glanced at Taeyoung. "Sorry, your not boyfriend said no."
"Wonjin’s about to be single again," Seongmin grumbled as he aimed to kick Jungmo under the table.
Wonjin hummed as he gestured between Seongmin and Taeyoung. "So, you two aren't dating?" he asked.
The groan that Seongmin let out at the question was loud enough to gain the attention of nearly three nearby tables. It was in the aftermath of Seongmin attempting to change the topic out of embarrassment that Wonjin felt Jungmo tug on his arm.
"Go on a walk with me?" Jungmo asked.
Wonjin nodded as he allowed Jungmo to pull him up and lead them outside. The walk itself wasn't much visually but Wonjin would be lying if he said he didn't like how pointless it was just to walk around holding hands.
"So," Jungmo started as he toyed at his lip for a moment before he glanced down at Wonjin. "Are we really dating?"
"You ask a lot of questions," Wonjin replied only to frown a bit at the way Jungmo looked away in embarrassment. He made sure to squeeze Jungmo’s hand in a silent apology before he cleared his throat. "I want to be. We can go slow if you want."
Jungmo’s ears were quick to turn red as he glanced at Wonjin and gently tugged on their hands just enough to cause their shoulders to bump into each other. "I think we skipped past slow last night."
Wonjin grinned."We don't have to go that slow," he hummed amused. "Just as long as we're at the same pace."
Jungmo nodded in agreement before he pulled Wonjin to a stop. "What pace is that?" he asked curiously as he leaned down enough to let the fringe of his hair brush against Wonjin’s.
Wonjin allowed the closeness for a moment as he savored the way it made his heart beat faster before he teasingly hummed and pulled back so Jungmo could see him narrow his eyes playfully. "What happened to needing clarification that we're together?"
"If we're together last night can happen again soon," Jungmo replied just as playful, his cheeks puffed out with a big grin spreading across his face.
"Oh really?" Wonjin laughed as he started walking backwards, his hand still clasped tightly in Jungmo’s. "We'll see."
The excited look on Jungmo’s face was both embarrassingly endearing and yet just as strikingly cute as it was the first time Wonjin saw it. It was the way Jungmo kept their hands clasped tightly as he watched Wonjin walk backwards with a fond grin that made Wonjin feel warm and energized.
Despite knowing his acting coach would say he was unfocused, Wonjin thought it said a lot that he managed to pass as a biker all while also being lucky enough to get a boyfriend.
He knew he probably owed a small thanks to Woobin for the help—in multiple ways as it turned out, even if he had blabbed about Wonjin initially asking about Jungmo out of interest.
Which is exactly why with just a few weeks to go before Wonjin will have to put his newly learned skills to test, he and Jungmo both agree to go to the racing circuit together one last time.
The plan was to go on a Thursday so it came across as normal as possible, however instead of Jungmo getting there hours before Wonjin they made sure to arrive one after the other.
"You're off schedule," Woobin commented as Wonjin made his way to the desk. "But pretty boy's already here."
Wonjin raised his eyebrow as he shot a glance at the door that led to the main garage, he knew Woobin was talking about Jungmo but he still made sure to narrow his eyes confused. "Pretty boy?" he repeated. "I didn't think that was your type."
Woobin was quick to give a half hearted glare as he looked up at Wonjin. "Don't be annoying. You called him pretty boy."
"I called him cute," Wonjin corrected before he pushed himself away from the desk as he started backing away towards the door. "Don't push your thoughts onto me."
He ignored the sound of Woobin calling him annoying as he made his way into the garage, his eyes instantly falling on Jungmo in the process of lifting his helmet of his head, this time with zero mistakes or accidents before he was turning towards the bike as he hesitantly placed the helmet down.
"I should've paid attention to how awkward you were with your bike," Wonjin commented quietly as he made his way across the garage.
"Isn't there a saying about how it takes time to learn your bike?" Jungmo replied with a weak attempt of defense before he was shifting closer to Wonjin. "Is he coming in here soon?" he asked.
Wonjin nodded. "He usually does, it's protocol." he replied before he gently pushed Jungmo back to separate them to a reasonable amount of space as he heard the sound of a door opening in the distance.
The argument started off quietly with Jungmo weakly pushing at Wonjin’s arm as Woobin entered the room with wide eyes and a slightly agape expression on his face.
"If you aren't going to take it seriously, why even be here?" Wonjin complained.
"What's going on?" Woobin frowned as he hesitantly walked closer.
Wonjin rolled his eyes as he glanced at Woobin, a faked annoyed expression filtered across his face as he vaguely gestured in Jungmo’s direction. "He's impossible."
"There's no reason to be this cocky," Jungmo chimed in as he turned his body towards Woobin to show he was just as annoyed.
"Anyone else would race it out," Wonjin grumbled as he flicked his gaze to Jungmo long enough to narrow his eyes.
"Then why don't we just do that?" Jungmo groaned as he turned back towards Wonjin.
"What is this even about?" Woobin complained as he looked back and forth between the two of them, his eyebrows still furrowed downwards as he shook his head. "Neither of you can be that stupid to get yourselves killed."
"You'd be surprised how bad someone can annoy you," Wonjin mumbled.
Woobin narrowed his eyes as he looked at Wonjin. "Stop being an idiot," he told him before he glanced at Jungmo. "And you have no room to talk. Neither of you do! There's nothing to prove. You’d be better off admitting why you're both here," he groaned as he looked at the two of them like neither of them was making sense.
It was exactly what Wonjin had planned for so he grinned in victory as Jungmo let out an awkward laugh and side stepped to the right to be next to him again as he quickly slipped his hand into Wonjin’s.
Woobin blinked hard before he let out a breath of annoyance. "You're both idiots. And really annoying," he grumbled as he ran a hand over his face before he was reaching forward to push at Wonjin’s arm. "I was worried you were really about to ruin your life over a pointless argument and you're over here holding hands with a stupid smile on your face."
"I told you we'd work well together," Jungmo chimed in proudly as he knocked his shoulder against Wonjin’s.
Woobin sighed as he looked at them one by one again. "Seongmin told me I owed him but he wouldn't say what for," he huffed before he looked at Wonjin. "You couldn't have told me like a normal person?"
Wonjin squeezed Jungmo’s hand in response before he shook his head at Woobin as he raised his shoulders in a light shrug. "What's the fun in that?" he replied.
Woobin shook his head. "Congrats then. I'll finally get to stop seeing Jungmo look at you all dumbfounded."
"I don't think that'll stop just because we're together," Wonjin shrugged.
Jungmo flushed embarrassment as he sent a weak glare to the both of them. "I wasn't the only one doing embarrassing stuff."
"Yeah, I've heard Wonjin call you cute way too many times," Woobin mumbled as he widened his eyes before he dramatically rolled them as if acting annoyed.
"I don't do it that often," Wonjin replied before he raised his foot out to lightly kick at Woobin's leg. "Go work."
Woobin grumbled something incoherently before he started making his way towards the clipboard hanging on the wall.
Wonjin knew he was probably about to do a check of inventory and a small checkup on his bike just to make sure it was rideable to take back to campus.
"So, how cute am I?" Jungmo asked as he let go of Wonjin’s hand to slip his arm around his back before he gently pulled him closer.
Wonjin let out a soft scoff as he looked up at Jungmo and felt his lips naturally threaten to lift into a smile. "I don't know. How cocky am I?"
Jungmo groaned. "You know that was fake," he complained before he tilted his head considerably. "Besides, being cocky isn't always a bad thing."
"Yeah?" Wonjin hummed as he leaned in closer, he could feel Jungmo’s grip tightening around his waist as his lips pinched together embarrassed.
"Can you go be gross somewhere else?" Woobin complained as he looked back at them.
"Can’t. I have an hour of riding scheduled," Wonjin replied as he slipped out of Jungmo’s hold so he could look at Woobin.
"Can I stay this time?" Jungmo asked curiously as he looked at Wonjin. "I haven't gotten a chance to really see you ride."
"You can stay as long as you promise not to be a liability," Woobin chimed in.
Jungmo grinned happily as he looked between the two before nodding in agreement. "I promise."
Wonjin let out a hum in response before he turned back to Jungmo. "Let's get dinner together later," he suggested.
"I'm taking that as a date proposal," Jungmo replied.
"It can be," Wonjin shrugged casually before he leaned closer again to teasingly knock his knuckles against Jungmo’s stomach. "You can stay over again."
Jungmo smiled as he leaned into the touch. "That sounds like a really perfect date proposal," he murmured. "I like staying in and I like you."
Wonjin wanted to scoff at the attempt of being smooth but he also wanted to point out the obvious of why Jungmo would probably like that plan but he was interrupted by Woobin telling him to get dressed. Besides, the shining look in Jungmo’s eyes paired with the dark redness on his ears told Wonjin he was probably already thinking about it.
As Wonjin walked away to get dressed he told himself to not think too much about the date so he wouldn't be distracted on the track but it was hard when Jungmo was so visibly happy about it and the sight alone made Wonjin’s chest and stomach do things he could only describe as warm and electric.
Wonjin had never cut his time on the track short, not with how serious he was taking this role, but he allowed himself to do it this one time to indulge in the happiness of the cute boy waiting for him.
