End Game

Summary:

So what if Johnny has a crush on Jaehyun? Having feelings for your own boyfriend is not a crime, regardless of the circumstances. Ten is still Johnny’s soulmate. His endgame. They are going to get back together. One day when they are old and grey, they’ll be sitting in their rocking chairs reminiscing about the old days, and they will talk about the year they dated other people and laugh.

 

Johnny once mentioned that rain always made him think of Jaehyun. Now rain always makes him think of Johnny. Jaehyun cannot help but be obsessed with that knowledge. When does Taeyong think of him? He would sell his soul to know.

 

(Or: they say that the best way to get over someone is to get under someone new. It’s also a great way for Johnny and Jaehyun to get their exes back… At least they hope so.)

Notes:

First time attempting a long fic like this, so needless to say I am hella nervous. I thought that it would be interesting/helpful to make mini character profiles for all the NCT members. Most of them will likely not make an appearance in the fic, but I figured that it would still be nice to know what everyone is up to in this universe I created. I tried to include everyone, but if I missed anyone, then please let me know. This fic will have quite a few flashback scenes, especially in the first few chapters, but the 'present day' in the fic starts in August 2025 for no other reason than the fact that I started working on this back then. The first chapter will be posted right after this, and it will be in Johnny's POV. I have no beta, so please let me know if there are any mistakes or even if anything is unclear.

  • Taeyong (30)
    • Independent rapper and well-known songwriter. Most known for his killing verses on collaborative projects. Completed his military service at 20 before joining the industry.
  • Johnny (30)
    • DJ and music producer based in Seoul, known for underground electronic sets and ambient remixes. Also works as a photographer under a pseudonym, occasionally exhibiting his work in small galleries.
  • Yuta (29)
    • Frontman of an alt-rock band based in Japan. 
  • Kun (29)
    • Senior line chef at a Chinese fusion restaurant.
  • Doyoung (29)
    • Member of the vocal trio DJJ, currently pursuing solo music projects while fellow member Jungwoo completes his military service. He completed his military service in March 2025.

    • Icon, legend and the moment.
  • Jaehyun (28)
    • A member of DJJ released his debut solo album in early 2025 after returning from the military in December 2024. Currently promoting his latest drama and working on his second album.
