Jervis Tetch Yandere Alphabet

Summary:

A yandere alphabet about DC's Mad Hatter. ♡

Notes:

My first Ao3 fic, I'm so happy! I decided to use a template for something a little easier, but expect more Jervis stuff in the future. I used characteristics from Gotham, BTAS, and the Arkham games for his character. Leave kudos if you want and I always appreciate comments!

Work Text:

Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?

Jervis considers himself a "gentleman," so expect very traditional courting at the start of your relationship. Some roses left on your desk, coffee dates, strolls by the Gotham River, and maybe a classic movie here and there.
However, once you really start going down the rabbit hole with him, he starts to show his more grabby side. He'll hold you close on his lap as he worked on whatever new fucked up mind control device he though of, lay down next to you on the couch as he reads aloud "Alice's adventures in Wonderland" for the tenth time that week, or just generally always having his hands on you whether you liked it or not.

Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?

Jervis himself prefers to stay blood free, instead having some mind controlled thug do the dirty work. However, if the situation was more personal, say, your last (and soon to be dead) partner tried to convince you to leave him, he would have absolutely no problem beheading them right in front of you.

Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?

Yes. Once he has you, don't expect to ever leave alive. Your life know revolves around him, as does his around you. He'll convince you that your family never cared about you, that only he understands and loves you, and how you two were made for eachother. He'd definitely mock your pre-Alice era persona, questioning how on earth you didn't kill yourself from the misery of normal life.

Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?

If you've consumed any media with Tetch in it, you know that he does not fucking care about what you want. During your tea parties if you won't eat or drink what he made you, he'll have a thug pin you to the chair as he forces you to eat and drink. He finds it incredibly romantic. Of course, his violence isn't confined to simply feeding you. Your relationship in the bedroom is very much the same way, if you're even lucky to even be conscious during sex, because he rather just mind control you rather than do the whole "screaming and kicking" routine you've adopted whenever he tries to have his way with you.

Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?

Sometimes they'll be a rare moment where he breaks down sobbing at your feet, begging you to forgive him and apologizing for whatever he'll he just put you through, but, this is all a elaborate ploy to make you feel sympathetic or even develop Stockholm syndrome. Jervis isn't completely mad, he knows what he's doing, he just plays up his already existing madness to have a excuse, albeit a poor one. Anytime you think he's actually showing you some humanity, he has an ulterior motive behind it.

Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?

Heartbroken. If you fought back, he takes that as a sign that you arent Alice, and just a blonde lying slut.

Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?

Wonderland isn't a game to him, it's as real as you or me. He'd find a little amusement in watching his Alice try to flee, but he knows that you won't get far.

Hell: What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?

Definitely the loss of their identity and sexual violence. You're entire life before him after a while will begin to fade, is your name actually Alice? Is Wonderland real? Who are you besides you Hatters darling? Sexual violence is something that Jervis is no stranger to, (Looking at you Arkham city and Gotham) and something you'll become quiet familiar with. It can be something as simple as his hand resting on yours for longer than wanted or night after night of you disassociating, staring at the clock on the wall permanently set to 6 o' clock, staring as he ruined and dirtied you again and again.

Ideals: What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?

Jervis doesn't want to be living the Rogue life for long. In his ideal future, you and him buy a nice secluded home somewhere in either Ohio or Minnesota, some boring place with no Batmen or Bird-Brains around, get married, and maybe have a couple of kids. The perfect domestic life.

Jealousy: Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?

Actually, I think he wouldnt be that jealous if you talked to other men. Sure, he would be paranoid and nervous, but for a typical yandere, he'd actually let you speak to the other gender. If you're far enough into the rabbit hole, Jervis knows that you can't and won't leave him. However, if you even dare show an inkling of interest in anyone, man or woman, he'll control them and make them belittle and push you away, leaving you confused and hurt. I don't think he would make them kill themselves, as you would immediately realize it's his doing.

Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?

Jervis is extremely touchy-feely, refer back to A. He loves feeling your weight on his body, the smoothness of your hands on his, or the feeling of his hands running through your silky blonde hair. When he's alone with you, you'll be sure to know just how much he loves his Alice, whether it be him feeding you cakes he baked or dressing you up in new Alice-esk dresses he made or bought. And he's head over heels for his darling Alice. Anytime he's speaking to someone else he'll slip you into the conversation, go on and on about how cute and kind you were, and just generally be extremely annoying.

Love letters: How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?

Oh, the charismatic holding the door open for you, consoling you after your boyfriend mysteriously broke up with you, a bouquet of roses on your desk, classic romance. Nothing about his courting would alert you to his motives.

Mask: Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?

Yes and no. Even as his normal scientist self he's a little off-putting, but again, the most anyone would assume of him is that he's a lonely awkward man.

Naughty: How would they punish their darling?
Jervis would definitely take the "I only punish you because I love you route." He wouldn't hurt you physically too much because he doesn't want an ugly Alice, so he'll resort to chaining you to his tea table, and refusing to feed or let you leave until you begged for forgiveness and promise to be his sweet Alice again.

Oppression: How many rights would they take away from their darling?

Everything you can thing of he'll take away. Your name, your past, everything. You can't speak, breathe, walk, blink, sleep, eat, or drink when you want to. You're his Alice, his doll to play with. There isn't a second in your life when you're not being mind controlled in some way, and at one point you forget that you ever had the ability to live without your Hatter.

Patience: How patient are they with their darling?

Jervis is used to getting his way with his Alices, so he has moderate to little patience. At most he'll handle a little tantrum, but anything more than crying and begging you're getting controlled.

Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?

Considering how often he cycles through Alices, he'd move on to the next blonde blue eyed girl he sees. However, if you left, he'd go through he'll and back, combing the city looking for you. There isn't anywhere on earth that's safe from him.

Regret: Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?

No.

Stigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?

Being belittled and rejected as an adult fostered a deep sense of dissatisfaction towards the real world and real women. The only way he was ever happy was with his books, so he tries his best to bring his fantasies for life.

Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?

In his mind, it's never his fault. He'll do his best to console you and shield you away from the evils of the real world, dragging you down deeper into Wonderland just to "protect" you. Despite his awfulness, in some way he cares for you in his own twisted way. He wants you to be happy, but only if that happiness involves him.

Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?

Jervis isn't in love with you, he's in love with the storybook Alice. Any personality you had before him will be completely erased so he can create his perfect Alice using your body. He idolizes a persona, not a person.

Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?

Play into his fantasy of a domestic life, play the long game. Eventually after a while they'll be not doubt in his mind that you love him and wouldn't even think about leaving him. Wait until you two fall into a domestic dream where he's blissfully unaware of your intentions, and run as fast as you can as soon as he's asleep. Run until you can't anymore, run until your legs give out, run run run.

Wit’s end: Would they ever hurt their darling?

If you ignored his warnings about acting out and continued to fight him, he'll realize that you arent Alice and quickly dispose of you. If he's feeling particularly cruel, he'll keep you alive for as long as he wants, mutilating your body and dumping you on the door of the GCPD as a fuck you.

Xoanon: How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?

It's actually a bit sweet how much he adores you. He's dedicated to keeping you happy and compliant, and will do almost anything to keep you with him. He's constantly hovering over you, ready to fix whatever is bothering you. He does have his limits though, he isn't one to let you walk all over him and degrade him, he'd rather do that to you. With love of course.

Yearn: How long do they pine after their darling before they snap?

At most three weeks. He enjoys the pining part a bit, enjoying thinking about all the ways he'll court you. However he won't wait for long, because he expects you to reciprocate just as much or maybe even more than him.

Zenith: Would they ever break their darling?

Eventually after all the poking around in your brain and messing with your mind he's bound to make a mistake and push you too far, turning you into a mindless husk of a person. He never means to do this, so he'll be devastated, crying and cutting your body even more, trying to fix you. Eventually he'll give up, and just use your body as a prop for a bit while he looks for a new Alice, dressing you up and posing you in different ways. Even in your vegetative state you can't escape his cruelty, because despite you being brain dead, that won't deter Tetch from assaulting your body.
