Rumi had gone out to get snack’s, Mira was sitting on the couch mindlessly scrolling with Sussie sitting on her head if she listened she could her snoring just barely and Derpy was laying down on the ground next to the couch also asleep.
Mira was quite bored but couldn’t think of anything else to do, just then she heard Zoey giggling in the hallway when she looked over she saw Zoey hunched over like a goblin sneaking Into Rumi’s room.
Mira got up whatever this was would probably be more entertaining than scrolling. Sussie flew over to sit on Derpy clearly annoyed at Mira for waking her up Mira walked down the hallway and into Rumi’s room she could hear Zoey’s muffled laughter from behind the door Mira walked over and shot the door open “what are you doing?” Zoey looked I bit disappointed that she found her but not surprised
“Rumi’s on her way home”
she said as showed her the message on the group chat, Mira didn’t get a notification well she probably did but she just ignored it
“what about it? Were you expecting her not to?” Mira asked slightly concerned
“No, I’m going to scare her, I’m bored”
Mira contemplated for a moment then mumbled to herself “it beats being bored” and hid with Zoey behind the door.
Rumi walked in while greeting the sleeping pets Derpy walked over half asleep Sussie had her normal annoyed expression and flew over on the counter
Rumi scratched Derpy’s head as she looked around for the girls “where’s Mira and Zoey?” They both looked at each other slightly confused and panicked as they both realized they lost the people they were babysitting for Rumi,
she put her bag of snacks on the counter, she walked around calling for them. She looked in their room’s but they weren’t there and she looked in the music studio lastly she looked in her room but couldn’t think of a reason for them to be in there
Mira and Zoey could hear Rumi calling for them they could hear her voice getting further away but they waited for their moment, and then they heard it Rumi walking into her room they got ready, this was the moment “Mira? Zoey? Where are you guys?” They took their chance, they jumped out yelling “BOO!!!”
They’d never heard Rumi scream louder but her scream got cut off as she disappeared with a poof of light blues, pinks, and purple they could hear her scream continue in the living room then stop “WHAT THE HECK!”
They both ran over to see Rumi standing near the couch clearly appalled, her pattens glowing brightly, the light purple in them especially noticeable. Sussie was circling her, concern lacing her expression as was Derpy who was rubbing his head against her legs “um, what just happened?!” Mira said as her and Zoey approached her
“Did you just teleport!?” Zoey asked just as concerned as she was excited
“Is that what happened?” Rumi said as she crouched down to better pet Derpy trying to recover from her soul leaving her body.
“You did, like a demon” Mira said, intrigued
“Can I teleport like a human?” Rumi said sarcastically
Mira respond with a scoff.
The next night they went out on a mission and everything was going well until Zoey threw one of her Shin-kal’s to a demon near Rumi but before Zoey’s knife could land Rumi got the demon. She saw the blade coming her way but thought it would dissipate into the Honmoon since the demon was gone,but it kept going fast Rumi looked over at Zoey, but she wasn’t paying attention the blade was just going to the nearest demon and Rumi being Half-demon was the nearest one.
Rumi could hear her breathing accelerating as her panic grew. Even if she dodged it, it might still hit her though she didn’t know for certain none of them had ever had to dodge their own weapons and she didn’t even know what would happen to her, but it was too late, it would hit her.
Mira saw Zoey’s blade going for Rumi, it was going to hit her “RUMI!” she yelled, Zoey shot back to see Rumi about to get hit by one of her Shin-kal if she dies it will be all her fault, but right before it hit her she disappeared with a poof of pastel colors and the blade hit the wall dissipating into the honmoon then Rumi reappeared just a bit away, confusion clearly emanating from her face.
Mira and Zoey took care last two demon then ran over “RUMI I’M SO SORRY I DIDN’T THINK IT WOULD HIT YOU!!!” Zoey said as she hugged her while bawling crying, she melted into Rumi’s hug.
She looked something like a puppy after you accidentally step in its tail or when you shock them with staticelectricity “Zoey, it’s okay I’m alright” Rumi said but let her hold onto her
“Good thing you teleported away” Mira said relief clear in her tone
“Yeah, I should really learn how to do that on command” she said blissfully unaware of the lecture it would give her
“YOU DIDN’T MEAN TO DO THAT!?” Mira yelled.
Rumi shrunk under her gaze like a child being scolded by their mom for eating the last of the cookies.
The whole way back to the tower was filed with Mira lecturing her on safety, specifically on how "just because you have fun demon powers didn't means you can get careless"
