“That’s not a toy,” The Golden Teppo warned her.
“I know.” Naoe clenched her jaws, clutching the gold-trimmed teppo that almost took her life many moons ago.
“It’s a coward’s weapon.”
“Watch where you point that thing!” Naoe warned Rokkaku Katsuhime, the sharpshooter she just recruited specifically for the Sakamoto Castle operation.
Katsuhime lowered the teppo, smugly raising her brows back at her. “What’s wrong, Iga-Hime? Does my teppo make you nervous?”
Naoe couldn’t quite put her finger on what actually made her nervous.
Maybe because teppo still reminded her of the worst moment of her life.
Maybe this particular charming wielder was making her nervous.
Or maybe both.
“No.” She would not admit it, especially not to this cocky Kogan shinobi. “I like dangerous weapons.”
Such a shameless answer. This woman asked her, and somehow it's not a coward’s weapon anymore.
Katsuhime then tilted her head, clearly smirking beneath the mask. But just her playful eyes were enough to give Naoe a strange fuzzy feeling in her chest.
“Hm. What about dangerous women?”
“Even better!”
