Chapter 1: Astra

Summary:

Astra begins her quest by recruiting an old enemy to confront Kara.

Chapter Text

Astra could still remember her sister's words. They felt like ashes in her mouth. Alura had promised to save their planet. But it was a lie, designed to maintain control of the dying planet. Alura had corrupted Kara, turned that warm, gentle soul against her. Astra's heart hardened. Kara, her darling niece, was dead. This imposter, this fake, this doppelganger was not the Kara that she had loved. The sweet girl who expressed love and concern of all living beings. "Can I count on your assistance?" "A chance to kill that fracking cow? I'm gonna love it!" declared the assassin. Astra had to suppress her disgust of the Czarnian serial killer. There was something foul and essentially vile about the violent, immoral monster that made Astra sick. But he would do what was required, while she made further plans. "Tor-An, I need your assistance!" she called out. Tor-An was swiftly at his General's side. Nothing would please Tor more than pleasing his general. When the planet exploded, Tor felt the death of his beloved Faora greatly. The General had shown him kindness and understanding for his loss. He dearly wanted to repay the favour to his noble leader.

"I need you, your brother Mur-An to go with Non and attack this building!" she revealed, simply. She waited for him to examine the layout of the building through both the blueprints she provided and the photo itself. "I want you to bring this woman to me!" she continued. Tor examined the woman. She was an older human, apparently in her mid 40s. She had golden hair and cold, deep eyes. "I shall bring this woman to you, O General. Do you have a preference for alive or dead?" "I wish her to be brought back alive. It is critical for my plans. Go now!" Astra surveyed the information that she had obtained. Supergirl had several humans she had grown close to. This blonde human was similar to many of the female friends that Kara had found attractive on Krypton. She was a woman of influence, humans heeded her warnings. Astra was certain that if she could convince this woman of the necessity for Myriad, then humanity could be spared the agony of Krypton. Astra stared again at the older male human. The Human general seemed different. When they fought, he was able to resist her. Somehow he was fast enough to stab her. Something about that pricked her.

Astra knew she was missing something. Something important. "Why O General are we hunting this human?" "She has influence over humans, Non. Our enemy considers her important. We will make her help us or we shall send her broken corpse back to the so called 'Supergirl'" replied Astra. Non felt his stomach twist whenever Astra mentioned her niece. He hated the pain that Kara caused her. Kara should have accepted her mother's betrayal. She should have convinced Kal-El to join them. Instead she was warping the woman he loved by every action she took. It brought back unpleasant memories, his brothers, their wives, his father...he shook his head. Remembering the past would not help. Instead he nodded to Astra and called her men to him. Off, they flew, taking not a second more to tarry. Astra watched Non fly off, her worry for him growing. She knew that he was the best choice, but ever since their imprisonment, she felt extra worried for his safety. She may not love him the way he loved her; but he was important to her. He was exactly the leader her people needed. She turned her attention to Gor, who was working steadily on the machine with the Commander. Myriad had to work, Earth and even the humans needed it to. And no-one, not even Supergirl would stop her.

The agents were more skilled than he anticipated. He was however able to distract them with the Rannian. The fool wouldn't last long in DEO custody. The Minister had not arrived yet. The fool was as usual bemoaning the incident. So they were female now. What difference did that make? They served the Master, he was all that mattered. Still he was cautious as he entered the building. The Amazon would find him soon. One day, he would make her a fury. But what mattered was the plan. There were many angry foreigners on Earth. And they would need to rise up to win. He remembered Dakota. He had been there. The humans were growing more powerful. The Xenomorphs were correct, they would be a great threat one day. But the threat would be directed at Titan. And the nation that opposed the Master would fall!

Platinum. It would be platinum. The Titanite Courteney Whitmore stood face to face with Atrocious, the leader of the Red Lantern Corp. She watched him cautiously, waiting for an opening. Her blood controlling powers would have difficulty getting through the platinum. She saw it coming towards her and deflected a giant fist with her cosmic rod. She summoned the lightning, amplifying it with her energy altering ability and launched it at Atrocious. His red energy shield protected him as she began a barrage. Being Titanite meant she needed energy to survive. Her cosmic rod would prove useless without her to wield it. Her lightning vision activated, trying to overwhelm the shield. She could see despite his armour, the strain on Atrocious's face. If only his platinum helmet didn't obstruct his face or eyes, ahe could overwhelm him. She called for more lightning as she used the rock beneath his floating form to assist. This was a battle for stamina. She was a Darkstar, she had her lover Jade to think of. She had to fight, too many lives depended on her. She felt her energy begin to dwindle, but she couldn't stop. Atrocious had to be stopped. No matter what.
