Chapter Text

The man is buried in a pile of paperwork, busy sorting them as he needs to assign the kids of his pack who just turned 18 into different fields, he reads through their files to decide and sort them according to their interests and under his men.

The knock on the door makes him look up as he lets out a sigh “come in” he says  his deep timbre sounding loud in the room as he goes back to reading the files before him.

The door is pushed open by a tall and stunning beta with full pink lips “head alpha, you're late for dinner.. Again!” The man speaks  voice sounding reproachful.

As he walks towards him and places the hot dinner on his table beside him. 

The man, an Alpha looks up with a small tired smile “thanks jinnie and am sorry for troubling you” he says 

The man Kim Seokjin glares at him “you weren't troubling me hyung! We are just worried that you're not taking care of yourself!” He says, sounding upset.

The alpha taehyung sighs as he pushes the reports aside, “jin, am very capable of taking care of myself you guys need to stop worrying” he says standing up and stretching 

Jin's jaw clenches “we will worry about you, you might be the head alpha of our pack Zephyr to the world, but to us you're our brother, our Hyung first. We will take care of you until you find your ma-” 

“Enough!” Taehyung growls as his eyes flash cutting seokjin off as he immediately closes his mouth “am sorry alpha” he bows 

Taehyung softens “no, am sorry” his voice grows soft as he pushes his hair back in frustration. “No i crossed the line” jin admits as he looks down 

“Jin” he calls out staring out of the window as he looks at the bright moon shining in the sky. 

“You do know that not having a mate is not the end of the world right?” He speaks as jin bites his lips he breathes in before answering “yeah” he says looking at the alpha before him “you're.. right” he says fake smiling at him. 

“You say that but we all see how you just grow a bit more sadder everyday  how you refuse to sit with us now and how.. you've totally stopped hoping”  seokjin thinks looking at his head alpha before him

He clears his thoughts as he goes to stand beside him. He places a reassuring hand on taehyung's shoulder as he looks at the moon “you have us, you know that right?” He says squeezing his shoulder 

Taehyung turns back to look at him as he gives him a small smile “I know” he says simply “that's good then” seokjin says not knowing what else to say, as they go back to look at the moon shining brightly on their pack.

Flashback

Kim Taehyung was just a young boy when he first heard all about Fates mates who were made for each other.

He saw his parents who looked at each other like their world revolved around them. He heard their stories from others and as he grew up he saw his own friends and pack mates fall in love and introduce their mates shyly to them. 

Gradually they became a group, as he grew up it stung a little as he was the oldest of the group of friends and here he was still unmated.

His family and friends reassured him, telling him the greatest of love stories always find each other quite late. And he had accepted it, dismissing the whole thing for some time.

But as he grew even older, whispers of him not having a mate or his mate being dead started circulating, the whispers went as far as them saying he was cursed. He endured, kept his mouth shut.

But at 27 with no mate in sight, the pack had started worrying about their future leader “how can he take care of us? The moon goddess has definitely not blessed him with a mate because he must be incapable, so how do we know he's going to lead us in the right direction?” One had said “goddess knows what’s wrong with him” another wolf had said voice low 

“Not once in our pack has anyone beyond the age of 20 not found their mate! We gave you more time because you are the head alpha's son, and there was no leader who never ruled without a mate!” The voices of the elders had raised sharp! And condensing! 

As his friends and family had growled! That is when taehyung had snapped as he let his wolf fully take control over him, his golden eyes burning in rage as he looked at everyone present in the field.

The people had gasped in shock “Golden Eyes” they had whispered immediately kneeling as the elders of the pack had gone rigid as he stared at them making them buckle

“Why kneel now? When you all have already shown me how backward your thoughts are” he growled voice raspy and eerily calm making them shudder 

He looks around him at the people “you want to know what's wrong with me?” He asks “all you guys have done is asked me about mating, pushing me to find a mate, someone against my will!” He says dangerously 

“Is everyone's damn worth as a wolf only associated with another soul whom you haven't met yet?” 

“Is that all you need in life.. a- a mate? Don't you have your own identity first?” he spits 

“you lot have such a backward mindset it sickens me! A mate is no solution to all the problems. If you think I'll be any less than the previous  leaders, all because I don't have a mate… then i will prove you all wrong” he speaks gravely as he straightens 

“I Alpha Kim Taehyung will earn my place as the Leader of your pack with my own hands, I won't accept this position because i come from a lineage of pack leaders, No! i will prove it to all of you by earning it.” 

“I” he looks at them and then at the moon “defy all the rules and regulations you have placed on me, i will rule with my head held high, i will show you what true strength is and it's definitely not because the goddess.. chose to make us in pairs.” 

“If along the line she does bless me with a mate, then I will rule with them beside me as my equal and if she doesn't then I do not care. I will still lead you with my heart” he finishes his golden eyes shining even brighter in the moonlight.

His friends and parents had looked at him proudly but still a bit sad at how the moon had robbed him of something as wonderful as love and companionship. 

The Zephyr pack led by the kims was an older pack still deep rooted with some of the older ideology the main one being being that all the wolves had to find their mates by 20 and if they hadn't then they were cursed worst secluded from the pack with some willingly leaving the pack due to constant shade and pitying looks 

Taehyung on multiple occasions had thought about fleeing or leaving but the responsibilities as the future leader always held him back

So he had to put up with everything from being frowned upon, to thinking he was cursed, he had also put up with people looking at him with pitying looks even his own friends and parents included which had hurt him the most.

But kept his word on earning the position as the head alpha, he had begun rigorous training from the alpha's that helped the future leader in training as he started from zero with no intervention from anyone

He trained physically in the wee hours of morning then ran across the small pack helping the elders and older people with household chores, farming, looking after the crops, he went house to house asking them about their issues and trying to come up with solutions for them. 

He had helped his father in paperwork and learnt the important ropes of how to handle the alpha duties from him. 

Soon rewarded by his own office people had begun to flock at his door for help, he quickly gained the title of a hardworking man, the elders were the first ones to let their defences down 

No other alpha leader had taken care of them with so much passion and love, next were the kids who started admiring him as he helped them solve important and difficult questions

He had easily made the pups understand everything who immediately had taken a liking towards him, 

One by one the people of the pack, the very one's who had looked down upon him slowly started accepting him, their defences lowering as they see how hard the man worked day and night. 

The elders of the pack were still hesitant but as two years passed they had no reason not to believe the young alpha who proved to them that he was just as capable of taking care of his pack as any other mated wolf. 

So at the age of 28 Kim Taehyung was officially initiated as the Head Alpha of the Zephyr Pack.

Looking at him, his friends were also determined to support their eldest by earning their way to the top, denying any type of help from their own parents who were friends of taehyung's parents and the ones who helped them during times of need.

First there was Kim namjoon an alpha who took on the role of the packs commander he was fiercely loyal, and a gentle giant who had a penchant for being clumsy, if something ever happened to taehyung he would be the next in line to lead 

Next there was his Mate Kim Seokjin who was a beta, he is the chief negotiator of the pack and the other packs around them. The beta also loved cooking. If he wasn't negotiating then he was always found in the kitchen either instructing or busy cooking delicious food.

Then there was Min Yoongi, an alpha who was a silent observer, lethal and deadly to his enemies. He is the head of the border patrol security, when he's off duty he's just your cuddly cat, an introvert who is also very sassy, as sassy as his mate.

His mate being Park Jimin, taehyung's best friend, mate to Min Yoongi, an omega also taehyung's best fighter and the packs trainer, he is bubbly, but can easily kill the enemy in his sleep. Often found accompanying his mate yoongi on border patrol.

Then there was Jung Hoseok, a sunshine wrapped in human form who is a beta and the pack's best Hunter who is very smooth in his attacks and also his touch and moves are often compared to the wind.

Then finally there was Hajoon an omega mate to Hoseok and a healer who had major knowledge about herbs and medicines from around the world, a soft spoken man admired by the people of the pack for his vast knowledge.

Taehyung had immediately begun to change certain rules that in the name of tradition hindered the pack and its outlook towards life.

He changed how people would view things not totally as there were people who still hadn't let go of their beliefs and expressed their views regarding it but taehyung had only learnt to ignore it with time.

The pack flourished more under his leadership as it was already a popular pack it had gained more traction after taehyung had come into view and the packs with similar interests who had maintained their distance from zephyr started connecting with them.

As some of them even started trading business with them. Taehyung was a proud leader and his family were even more proud of the alpha. 

But the hurt and disappointment within the alpha will always remain even if dint show it.

Present

Now in  the present taehyung is 33 and with still no mate or lover in sight people had named him as the lone wolf, as the alpha had slowly started to seclude himself from pack and family dinners and functions 

He even stayed away from his group of friends secluded and alone. He would still provide his people everything they needed, but he slowly closed himself and only spoke when it was important.Taehyung had lost all hope of ever finding a mate.

Seokjin says his goodbyes as taehyung gets back to work. He slowly walks towards the path that leads to the pack dinner hall. Everyone is already done with their dinner as some stay back to help in cleaning 

“Hyung” a soft voice calls out “did taehyung hyung eat?” The omega asks as seokjin smiles sadly at him “he said he'll have it later, hajoon-ah” 

Hajoon frowns “he's closing off” he says seokjin looks up at the moon through the glasses ceiling “i hope the goddess is really not that cruel” he says as hajoon gives his shoulder a firm squeeze “i hope so” he says following jin’s gaze.

“What are you two doing here?” A voice whispers behind them giving them a fright “yah! Park jimin” jin scolds making the omega laugh almost falling over them 

“Ahh hyung you need to stop scaring us like that” hajoon pouts making jimin pinch his cheeks “not sorry” jimin says as jin scolds him. 

Jimin's eyes look for someone but when he doesn't spot them he turns towards jin and hajoon “he's not here today either is he?” He frowns as the rest of the men join them 

“Who Taehyung hyung?” Namjoon questions as he wipes his hands as yoongi and hoseok exchange worried glances 

“Yeah” jimin utters “hyung how was he?” Hoseok questions as he places his hands on hajoons waist “buried in a pile of paperwork work, like always” he mutters 

“It looks like something else happened, what is it?” Yoongi ever the observer questions as jin lets out a huge sigh “i-i kind of upset him, i almost spoke about him not having a m-mate.. i dint mean too” he hurries quickly as his eyes glaze over.

“Jinnie, I don't think you purposely upset him, you were frustrated by him not letting any of us share his pain with us” namjoon soothes his mate as jin lets out a shuddering breath 

“And knowing hyung he would be upset at himself for getting angry at you” jimin smiles rubbing a gentle hand down jin’s back as jin nods

Yoongi hands his weapons to jimin “enough is enough he needs to get out, how long is going to close himself up? An eternity?” He scoffs as he walks towards the alpha's house “yoon please be gentle” jimin calls out 

“Dont worry me and joon will go with him” hoseok says as namjoon tells yoongi to wait for them.

“We will make sure he's going to be with us from tomorrow, no more is he allowed to wallow in his misery, we'll get him back” hoseok  says smiling at them assuringly.

Yoongi knocks on the door for a third time when there's no answer he sighs exasperated “not answering us, while you chose to be cooped inside there is of no use hyung!”  He stresses namjoon gently pushes him aside 

“tae! Please we are here as your best friends, please let us in” he knocks 

Hoseok sighs angrily “Am sorry if you were expecting your advisors head alpha. We will take your leave now” he says as they turn around to walk away just as the door unlocks 

Taehyung stands there, his hands folded and his hair unruly “what do you guys want” he asks boredly as hoseok smiles pushing him aside as he walks in “we needed to see if you're alive, and then wanted to ventilate this place” yoongi states blankly 

“one, jin just visited me a while ago and two, I am perfectly fine and three! My house doesn't stink” he snipes.

“It doesn't” namjoon agrees giving him a dimpled smile  

“We came here to get you out” yoongi says sitting down on his sofa, “yoongi-” he begins but the alpha cuts him off “we are on leave tomorrow head alpha so it's your duty as the Leader of the pack to check up on the borders” yoongi shrugs smirking at him

Taehyung clenches his jaw tightly “you guys are fucking annoying” he grits “well thank you” hoseok quips 

“So.. all of you are taking leave at the same time?” He questions raising his eyebrows “yes, yes we are” yoongi juts his chin meeting his sharp eyes head on 

“I call bullshit” taehyung speaks “speak for yourself” namjoon says leaning back.

“You need to do your annual rounds anyway so just finish it off” Hoseok says, smiling at him.

Taehyung rolls his eyes, at them “did you finish your dinner” yoongi asks softly this time. “I did, you guys need to stop worrying so much” he says looking down at the floor 

“We will when you start letting us look after you too” hoseok says standing up "don't be late for tomorrow's rounds, head alpha” namjoon winks as he and yoongi stand up ready to leave.

“When have i ever?” Taehyung smirks as the beta and alpha's walk out bidding their byes to him. “luna please end his misery” the friends think

On the other side, a man zooms past the trees in the forest as he looks for shelter from the alpha's following him, his omega panting for air.

He hides inside a tree hollow, as it's night time he can easily use the darkness of the night to hide himself, with great difficulty he hoists himself into the hollow as he quickly ties a piece of leaf to his bleeding leg which he had injured by twisting it and then had narrowly escaped as his previous pack member had almost bitten his injured leg off in hopes of catching him.

The omega carefully climbs inside the hollow as he cries out whimpering at the pain in his ankle. After constantly looking out for signs of danger his doe-like eyes slowly start closing in tiredness as he succumbs into a fitful sleep as he has vivid visions of wolves chasing after him.

Flashback

The Moonshade pack was even worse than Zephyr; their rules had no place for breathing, their backward culture had no room for anyone in the pack to thrive.

The only ones to move forward and enjoy all the pleasures of life were the alpha species, where as the omegas were the ones to be restricted from everything

Their only use was “stay, obey and bear pups” 

The pack's future suffocated him, he wanted to breathe, start afresh. He didn't want to be an alpha's property trapped in a mated life where he couldn't express his voice.

He wanted to learn and grow, explore his own talents and learn so much before he even settled in life, but the godess must have different plans for him seeing as he was born in a pack where basic living was hell, especially for an omega.

Jeon Jungkook omega of the moonshade pack was set to be mated to their head alpha who was older than him and he was not the alpha's only mate.

Jungkook never wanted this, since his parents passing all the people did was pushed him around like he was some useless wolf “all because am an omega and useless” he had grunted looking in the mirror

His father a single wolf was the alpha's second in command, his mother having passed when he was six, his father had served the alpha, when jungkook turned 18 the pack had gone on a hunt and his appa had tragically lost his life while hunting

The alpha's had fled leaving the beta to the rogues, jungkook thinks that was their plan all along, kill his appa and get him alone as he was as called by the alpha's “a freshly bloomed flower” 

Jungkook had just turned 18 and from there it was only torment as he was made to do everything in the  pack from taking care of food, pups, washing clothes and dishes and more all with very little help.

When he turned 25 his torment only increased, The head alpha was hell bent on making him his omega.

Unable to bear the suffocation anymore he decided to flee

That night he packs only a few essentials with him as he gets ready to run away from the awful pack,  he takes his bag as he waits in the forest, until midnight to run. And when the coast looks clear he makes a run for it.

Not even five minutes into the run he is spotted by the guards, the guards alert the head alpha and his men, who immediately begin chasing him 

Their howls cut through the forest  loud and piercing in the silence of the night. As jungkook pushes himself to run even faster

The mud sticky and slippery under his legs due to the heavy rains from the evening, jungkook runs pushing himself harder as he's almost near the borders. But unfortunately he skids, his leg twists in an unnatural angle making him hiss at the sharp pain.

As he struggles to even walk, the sound of twigs snapping behind him make him turn to growl at the alphas who get ready to pounce on him.

At that moment jungkook knows he has to risk everything if he has to get away from his predators so he forces himself to run even when his legs scream at him to stop “you can do it jungkook y-you need to leave” he chants inside his head.

The alpha's chase him relentlessly, not even tiring a bit, jungkook can feel their paws thudding on the ground, constantly reminding him of their dominance and how vulnerable he is.

His scent doesn't help either as he hides behind the bushes. “Omega!” He hears the head alpha's roar “give up you little bitch! You can't outrun us. Your scent.. it's everywhere, you either come with us nicely or.. we are gonna drag you back by your legs!” He shouts as jungkook breathes raggedly.

“Come out, come out wherever you are,” the guards mock. 

The omega slowly pads away from the bushes just as a grey wolf almost slams through him from within the bushes biting jungkook’s already injured leg, as he yelps  his pants  now stained with dirt and blood

Jungkook growls and summons every ounce of energy he has as he kicks the wolf's face, the wolf leaves his leg whimpering. He lunges at him with his sharp nails and claws the alpha's face off! 

The alpha howls in pain immediately alerting the others, jungkook curses immediately running more like limping towards the borders which thankfully he can spot from where he's limping

As he gets closer he hears the stream that separates his pack from the others, he can hear paws getting closer, he turns back to get one last look at the forest where he grew up

He steels his resolve as he lets his eyes glaze over as he speaks into his pack bond

“I am not your property!” He growls “you cannot force me into anything if i don't want it.” He says 

Their leader growls back “you filthy mutt! Once you cross those borders you're going to be known as a runaway, so get back here this instant!” He orders 

Jungkook was not just a runaway omega that defied  their orders at this point he was a prize to them, a prize that they could hunt and claim as theirs. 

Jungkook knows that too and thus he turns back towards the stream that will erase the bonds that tie him back to the pack, his eyes gleam 

“Over my dead body” 

He growls jumping in to the stream just as the alpha's reach the shore “fuck!” He hears the alpha scream.

As he swims over to the other side of the shore and climbs over. He doesn't turn “I don't want anything to do with the pack anymore” he tells himself as his wolf gives series of tired and satisfied barks as he limps away from the shore his packmates watching him go

His previous head alpha scoffing “lets see how long he survives" he thinks as he turns around and walks away.

Present 

Jungkook wakes up in a cold sweat shivering at how cold he feels, as he tries to hug himself but in vain.

His throat feels parched and his body feels like it has been trampled upon. And his leg, he winces at the mere thought of it.

He slowly tries to come out of the hollow of the old gnarly tree he had taken shelter in, he tries to get out but only ends up stumbling outside as he falls on his knees

His leg is swollen, the pain only flaring up as each second passes by as he cries, trying to sit up with the help of the big old tree

He looks around with bleary eyes as day light slowly filters through the forest. He rests his back against the tree as he pants, “what now?” He thinks “how far have i travelled? And what's this place” he thinks, shuddering as cold wind passes, the thin t-shirt doing nothing to warm him.

He looks down at his torn sweats, he din't get to carry more clothes, not like he had any in the first place, he sniffs

“Water” his wolf croaks, “they must still be looking for me” he says gently shushing it.

A twig snapping makes him whip to the side to stare at the source of the voice, the bushes rustling, jungkook is scared out of his mind his cedarwood scent going haywire around him, as he curls in on himself

His doe eyes are now wide with fear as he tears up “luna please!” He prays just as a sudden scent of  forest washes over him as he instantly for some reason calms down as he sits there wide eyes trained on the bushes for anyone possible danger 

His wolf sits alert but it doesn't pressure jungkook to run either, the bushes ruffle again, as man emerges from them.

Tall, strikingly handsome, his hair ruffled from what seemed like he was running his hands against them again and again, a defined jaw. His wolf  slowly lowers its guard just as the man's piercing sharp eyes find his terrified doe one's, immediately making him curl up even more. 

Jungkook could barely walk, forget fighting “now what do i do” he thinks hating himself for crying as his body trembles “moreover am a rogue!” He thinks 

“Hey” he hears a gentle deep voice call out to him as his eyes snap back to the man before him “an alpha” his wolf supplies as they watch him raise his hands and gently kneel before them with a respectable distance between them.

Jungkook gapes “an alpha!! Kneeling?" he thinks as the man cocks his head to the side “puppy” his wolf says again as jungkook shakes his head.

Taehyung woke up early today as he slowly gets ready to go on his "monthly inspection” as his friends had so kindly told him.

He opens the door to find an eager jimin ready to knock, taehyung raises his eyebrow “I thought you guys were on leave” he says making jimin roll his eyes “so? Can i not bring breakfast for my best friend anymore?” he utters 

Taehyung shakes his head “you don't have to,.I would have grabbed something on my way” he says looking the door “oh please, we all know how you work” he mutters 

As they start walking towards the forest, Jimin follows him to send him off. Taehyung turns to him “well, what are you waiting for” he asks as jimin gives him a smile his eyes turning into crescents as he hands over a neatly packed box to taehyung 

“Did yoon make it?” He teases jimin making the younger pout “I did” he grumbles making taehyung let out a laugh “sure jimin-ah, i hope the food is edible” he mocks “at least i cook! You don't even know how to chop veggies” he shouts as taehyung starts walking further into the forest “whatever makes you sleep at night!” The alpha shouts back as he smiles to himself.

Taehyung had inspected every nook and corner of his territory and mentally noted the things he had to take care off. “Only the area near the stream is left” his wolf speaks making taehyung hums 

He is suddenly hit with the intense scent of cedarwood that engulfs him like a warm hug “alluring” his alpha hums as taehyung follows the irresistible scent like it's a damn siren's song. 

As he follows it stumbling through the bushes, he gets out of the bushes dusting his hair and coat, as his eyes roam across the forest looking for the scent when his eyes find a pair of scared doe eyes across him.

Taehyung's throat goes dry at the beauty in front of him, he inhales deeply as his wolf barks in his head “who is this?” He wonders as his eyes wandering across his frame 

The man is battered “and bruised” his wolf growls as taehyung's eyes fall on his legs “omega” his wolf whispers, “hmm a rogue” Taehyung says a bit tensely.

“I don't think he's harmful” his wolf says surprisingly gentle just as the omega whimpers curling in on himself as he cries body wrecking with sobs

Taehyung's heart squeezes in his chest, as his wolf whimpers, “Hey” he says softly as the omega's teary eyes snap open, as he stares at taehyung wearily 

As he tries to shield himself even more, taehyung immediately raises his hands in the air to let him know he's not a threat 

His eyes fall on the omega's injured leg wrapped in a leaf that is hardly holding up, he walks up to him and slowly kneels before him keeping a respectable distance in-between them as the omegas eyes widen, something akin to wonder  and shock flashing across them.

“You're hurt” Taehyung says softly making jungkook sniffle “can i know where you're from?” He asks but the terror flashing in the omega's eyes makes him revert “okay! Okay, calm!” He says “you don't have to tell me yet” he whispers 

Jungkook gives him a small barely there nod “good,good! But we need to heal that leg off yours” he says as jungkook's eyes follow the alphas.. as his pain flares back in full force

But jungkook is stubborn as he shakes his head, taehyung saw it coming as he decides to sit down “if you don't, its gonna get worse. I promise no one's gonna hurt you” he says carefully lending his hand forward 

Waiting for the omega to take it, jungkook is skeptical “why should i trust him?” He thinks as he looks at the alpha making taehyung gives him a smile as he shakes his head and lets out a chuckle 

“You don't have to trust me… yet” he says, Jungkook's eyes widen as his face turns a bright shade of pink. 

Taehyung opens his small bag as jungkook curiously glances at him from the corner of his eye.

He takes the box given by jimin and quickly opens it, the smell of food makes jungkook's stomach grumble viciously, making taehyung accidentally laugh loudly

He immediately covers it up with a cough as the omega already looks embarrassed, he places the box filled with sandwiches and a few sliced fruits in front of the omega who looks torn on whether to eat it or not.

Taehyung understands him so to soothe the omega he picks a slice of sandwich and eats it “see there's nothing in it” he says as he eats a slice of apple. 

Jungkook hesitantly reaches forward for the box and takes it as he picks the sandwich and tentatively bites into eat the bread, the flavours exploding in his mouth have him gobbling the whole box up.

As he stuffs the sandwich in his mouth, his cheeks bunch up making him look like a squirrel. Taehyung smiles at him “slow down or your going to choke” he tries just as jungkook ends up choking, taehyung quickly hands him a bottle of water which the omega takes finishing the whole bottle 

“Can i check your leg now?” the alpha asks him his voice still a soft whisper,  jungkook thinks for a few minutes as he looks at him as though scanning for danger as the alpha sits perfectly still. 

After a few minutes of accessing the omega gives him a tiny nod, taehyung gives him a reassuring smile as he gently tries to peel the leaf off his ankles.

He winces at the sight of the omega’s leg “you're strong you know that” he says as he looks up. Jungkook stares at the man before him “no one has ever called me strong” he thinks as the alphas touch gets him out of his reverie 

Taehyung gently touches the omega’s leg before him inspecting the bite mark on it “we need to get you treated” he says looking at the omega who bites his lips taehyung takes a deep breath

“I dont know what happened, and i won't ask until you tell me but we need to get your leg looked at” 

“I know you don't trust me, rightfully so! I am a stranger. But.. I promise you i mean no harm to you, my pack is just a bit further from here let me  take you to the infirmary and you can rest there” he says as if speaking to a child 

“I promise they are nice people” he adds, the omega’s chin  wobbles as he clutches his leg “how can i?” he thinks, taehyung gently lifts his leg as he places it on his lap As he takes out another bottle of water and  tears a piece of cloth and wets it.

He starts it with slowly wiping off the blood from the omega’s ankles as he blows on it to ease the burn and pain, jungkook stares at him with teary eyes “my name is Kim taehyung and i belong to the zephyr pack” he says as he is still cleaning the omega's leg.

Jungkook inhales sharply “Zephyr” he thinks “the same pack moonshade hated for breaking off their relations with them since a new alpha took over as zephyr's leader?” 

Jungkook looks at the gentle wolf before him. He looks like he's older than him “what if his mate sees him with me? Won't they be angry at him for spending time with an unknown omega?” for some reason his wolf makes a displeased noise at him.

“There” the alpha says as he ties another clean cloth on his wounds “well?” Taehyung raises his eyebrows as he looks at jungkook “either you come with me or you fight unknown rogues all by yourself” He says making jungkook gulps 

Taehyung smiles as his plan works, it feels the omega is quite scared and distrustful of alpha's and he cant blame him. But he still wanted to get the omega to get some relief from the pain 

“And he could do with some fresh clothes and a warm bath and some more food” he thinks 

“Come on pup, we don't have a lot of time the more you delay the worse it gets” he says, the word pup rolling off his tongue with ease, jungkook's face grows warm as his ears get red as he nods at the alpha who gives him a full fledged boxy smile in return 

“Oh thank you luna” both their wolves say in unison 

Taehyung adjusts his bag as he lends his hands towards the omega who struggles to get up “let me help you” he says as he walks behind him “let me hold you, you aren't able to stand let alone walk with that leg” he says as he hoists the omega to stand who is about to thank him when taehyung in one swift motion carries him bridal style making him gasp

As he stares wide eyed at the man who just gives him a beautiful smile, jungkook's hand automatically wrap around his neck as taehyung adjust his grip on him “we will be there soon just hang in there” he says assuring him as jungkook still stares at him mesmerised.

The omega is light in his hold “does he not eat?” He thinks as he grips him tighter as he quickly walks towards his pack.

As they approach the pack they see guards roaming and yells of “search every nook and corner” and “yes alpha!” Jungkook whimpers as he hides his face in the alpha's neck as warm tears fall on taehyung's neck

“It's alright pup” he whispers

“Alpha!” Jin's voice is loud and relieved as his friends run towards him “oh thank luna” jimin cries “we thought something happ-” hoseok’s voice trails off as the others eyes widen once they land on him 

More like they land on the omega in his arms, 

“Am alright, I'll explain later but first we need medical help here” he says

“But alpha taehyung, that's a rogue! He might harm us” an elder stresses 

Jungkook’s head immediately whips up as he shakes his head “shush, i understand, you're alright” he whispers

Taehyung glares at everyone before him “I'm here in one piece aren't I? The only person who's scaring someone right now is you, is this how you treat people in time of need?” He questions as his eyes turn stormy 

“R-right  but alpha everyone is still going to be worried” he utters this time not meeting his eyes

Taehyung grits his teeth, namjoon steps forward “we will handle it but right now, he needs help” he says pointing towards jungkook 

taehyung lets out a breath “since none of you will attend him after claiming him as rogue wolf, i will take care of everything myself” he says

“B-but alpha!” “You may leave now elder Song” Taehyung interrupts him as he turns towards his group.

“Hajoon, could you help set up a makeshift infirmary at my place? And help him with his leg too? Please?” He requests 

“On it hyung! Let me go get some herbs and everything i need” the omega agrees “seokie, i'll be needing a hand” he calls his mate “coming babe” hoseok calls out as he follows him to the infirmary.

As taehyung walks towards his house “let us help” jin adds 

“He's scared” yoongi observes “yeah, found him already injured” taehyung speaks as jungkook listens to everything with his head still buried in the alpha's neck.

“Did he speak?” Jimin questions “not yet” taehyung sighs

They soon reach taehyung's place as he hurriedly crosses the mini stone bridge to his house as jin unlocks his door 

Jimin and jin quickly tidy the bed as taehyung gently tries to lay the omega down but jungkook refuses to let go 

“I am right here. No one's going to harm you,” he says gently as his friends watch in amazement “these are my friends you can really trust them” he speaks again patiently still carrying him “am going to let you down, and once i do let's treat that leg of yours hmm” he says 

Jungkook looks up at the alpha, his eyes peering at taehyung who feels warmth bloom in his chest at the omega's doe eyes peering up at him.

Jimin coughs loudly breaking the staring contest between them as they both blush “a-am gonna place you d-down now” he says his neck feeling way too warm 

Jungkook nods not meeting his eyes, taehyung slowly lets him down on the bed as hajoon and hoseok arrive with some medical supplements 

Jungkook grabs his hand as soon as he's placed on top of a very comfortable bed which honestly feels luxurious to him after years of sleeping on the floor 

“Can i inspect your leg?" hajoon asks, coming forward and smiling sweetly at him, jungkook looks at taehyung who nods, jungkook looks at hajoon and gives him a small nod. 

Hajoon sits on the bed as he slowly places his fingers on the younger omega's ankle, jungkook hisses “sorry, does that hurt?” Hajoon asks jungkook giving him a meek nod

Hajoon carefully inspects his ankle, as he covers the bite mark with a medical paste over it, he looks at taehyung who is busy looking at his wounds with a tensed expression 

“Hyung, his wounds will heal with time, but he has a broken ankle,” he looks at jungkook “You need to rest, completely rest! Don't put any weight on your leg okay?” He says sternly.

Jungkook nods sleepily as his head lolls forward immediately raising his head to look straight making the omegas chuckle at him “you're cute” jimin whispers 

“My name is park jimin, and this alpha here is my mate yoongi” he says as introduces them “jimin is the trainer of our pack where as yoon here is the head of the packs border patrol” Taehyung speaks 

Yoongi and jimin smile at him, as jungkook gives them a bow “if you ever need help, you can always count on me” jimin winks “dont trust him he's a menace” yoongi remarks “you are mated to this menace” jimin sasses as yoongi rolls his eyes 

“These two ughh move” jin shoves them “hello there cute pup” he coos “my name is Kim seokjin am a beta and this is my alpha ,.the love of my life, my world, Kim namjoon” “uhh..hyung did I do something right?” Namjoon asks confused making taehyung snicker

“Don't take them seriously” he whispers to jungkook who nods looking at everyone around him with bright eyes“jinnie is our packs negotiator and joon is my commander also very clumsy but he's blessed by the goddess with brains” Taehyung says as he sits beside jungkook on the bed 

Hajoon brings a bowl of liquid towards them and hands it to taehyung as he takes it carefully “but this is-” he tries to say “medicine” hoseok interrupts shaking his head for taehyung to remain quiet as he smiles at the omega looking curiously at them 

“Well hello there, my name is hung hoseok and i am the packs Hunter”  he gives him heart shaped smile, “and i am seokies's omega choi hajoon  the pack's healer” he smiles at the younger one “hobi is a beta just like jin” Taehyung adds turning to jungkook 

“Now here” taehyung hands him the bowl of soup “it may taste bitter but it's… medicine.. yeah medicine” he says 

Jungkook's nose crinkles at the odd smell but he decides to just gulp it down in one go he takes one sip and immediately makes a disgusted face at it making the others laugh at him “he's so cutee” jimin whispers “joon-ah let's adopt him” jin says with starry eyes making namjoon shake his head at him.

“From the looks of it, little one must not have tasted any type of alcohol before” yoongi says amused as jungkook hiccups his cheeks turning a rosy shade of pink as he looks at them with glazed eyes. 

“Was the drink necessary?” Taehyung asks hajoon smiles at him “it might make him forget his pain for a while” he says softly his words carrying weight, a sense of meaning behind it. 

“Right” taehyung turns to look at the omega now dozing off “take care of his leg please” he says standing up as he holds jungkook’s head and arranges the pillows behind him properly 

He gently pushes him down “sleep” he says as he turns to hajoon “you can proceed” he speaks.

hajoon takes jungkook's injured leg and inspects it “just displaced” he hums to himself as his hold tightens on the younger's leg as he applies gentle pressure on it and in one swift motion he realises his bones making the younger omega cry out

Taehyung is immediately by his side “its okay we're almost done” he soothes, pushing his sweaty bangs away from his forehead. “Hobi” hajoon calls “right here” he says handing over some firm wooden barks and sticks “uhh hyung do you have any soft cloth?” He asks 

Taehyung nods “maybe in the drawer over there” he points towards it. “I'll get it” jin says as he looks for any soft cloth or fur that taehyung might have “hold his leg for me” hajoon tells as taehyung holds it for him

Jin hands over the softest cloth he had found as hajoon immediately gets to work as he ties soft cloth to protect his skin and then ties the splint near his injury so that it would support the omega’s leg  with vines.

Jimin places a pillow below his leg to help alleviate it. Jungkook goes back to dozing off. 

“All done” hajoon smiles “namjoon” Taehyung calls “yes hyung?” “assemble everyone at the pack hall” he states namjoon nods as he and jin leave to gather people at the pack hall 

As everyone leaves taehyung stations two of his trusted guards at the door. He tucks the omega properly, he turns around when he feels fingers grip at his hands, he turns around to look at the omega already looking at him.

“Your safe here” he whispers, making jungkook nod, the omega looks at taehyung as he mumbles a soft “thank you” before his eyes close and he's already snoring softly leaving a stunned taehyung “has a voice of an angel” he thinks as he shakes his head 

He looks at him one last time before heading out "don't let anyone enter or leave the house” he orders his men “yes Alpha!” They nod at him

Taehyung stares at his people who look weary as some straight up look not so pleased with his decision, while his friends stand behind him. 

“Good Evening fellow pack members!” addresses 

“I know today has been very tensed, but I assure you the man at my place is just an ordinary wolf, who is innocent” he says 

“But alpha! No rogue is ever innocent” a voice speaks while the rest agree with them. “They're right! His fathers voice speaks” from the front row.

“I know that, but I was with him and am standing here in front of all of you aren't I? You can ask my council for that matter too. They were with me, as they helped in healing him. And they are here unharmed as they stand before you” 

He points at them “you guys are doing it again” he says roughly as the people look down.

“No one has the right to judge anyone Alpha Kim!” He utters staring at his father who looks away with sigh 

“You are worried so naturally i wont try to dismiss it” he speaks “what do you mean?” An elder questions 

Taehyung straightens “As for now the omega will live with me” his voice echoes in the hall making everyone look at him in shock.

“None are ready to accept him yet so until he heals, he's going to stay with me! And once he's healed, i will let him work his way from the bottom so that he earns the right to stay here himself!” His voice booms across the hall

“And if anyone has a problem you can come talk to me. If not, you're dismissed!” He says lifting his hand 

The wolves bow as the hall soon starts to get empty only leaving taehyung along and his friends 

“Are you sure about it hyung? Jimin asks 

Taehyung gives him a nod “the omega is innocent chim, I-i dont know but his eyes..” he trails off 

“They don't seem dangerous, they scream for understanding instead” he says looking them 

“They scream for love” he doesn't add.

But they notice it anyway, jimin smiles “okay them you should go get some rest” Taehyung nods “yeah  Goodnight guys” he yawns as he turns to walk away “Goodnight hyung” they tell in unison.

Back in the house  Taehyung gets comfortable on the sofa as he turns to stare at the omega who is right opposite him “there's a whole other room in the house why are you sleeping here?” his wolf questions teasingly

Taehyung scoffs “What if he's going to need me? Or worse, what if he falls off the bed?” Taehyung mutters, making the wolf inside him snort, after a few minutes of silence it annoys him again 

“Do i sense a crush here?” It's tail wags 

“S-shut up” Taehyung says, making his wolf chuckle at him. “Go to sleep you stupid wolf” he says, making his wolf shake his head at him like a disappointed parent.

Morning arrives as jungkook struggles to open his eyes. He turns his face the other way, but it doesn't help when his stomach grumbles for food and the amazing smell of something simmering and eggs doesn't help either.

He reluctantly opens his eyes as he grumbles, he looks around the place like a new born pup looking for something.

He lifts himself up on his arms and winces slightly at the dull ache in his legs as everything comes rushing back to him. He looks at his leg and makes a sound that resembles something akin to amazement. 

“Well, good morning little wolf” taehyung's deep voice make jungkook snap his head in his direction and there stands Kim Taehyung with one hand balancing a player full of eggs, bread and the other hand holding a glass of juice as he places the plate on the table

Jungkook  realises he's staring and immediately averts his eyes as he bows, thanking taehyung “sleep well?” The alpha asks as jungkook looks up at him and nods.

The omega bites his lip…  contemplating then he takes a deep breath and speaks anyway “t-thank you, for everything a-alpha” he bows his voice cracks, sounding alien to his own ears.

Taehyung's eyes grow gentler “dont thank me, but if you want to you could by eating something” he says pushing the plate towards him. 

Jungkook takes with a small nod “do i still need to eat a bite to prove anything” taehyung teases making him blush as the alpha chuckles.

Jungkook eats the breakfast given, his stomach finally full. Taehyung hands him a glass of juice when jungkook not used to so much food hesitates taehyung takes none of it “you need to eat more” is all he says 

“Take small sips, can you do that?” The alpha questions, jungkook nods as he takes the glass and sips small amounts of juice, “good boy” Taehyung rumbles as jungkook flushes 

As they're just finishing breakfast they hear a knock on the door, taehyung opens it to find hajoon, jimin and jin there “what are you guys doing here?” He asks 

“Oh move! You for one don't leave the house and starve all day long, but don't make the poor pup starve” jin says shoving the alpha away 

“Starve? Me?” Taehyung splutters.”Ahh is that breakfast i smell” jimin says suspiciously, as he sniffs around the air eyes darting around for someone cooking in the kitchen, hajoon laughs “dont worry hyung, i trust you” he whispers. 

“You better” taehyung sulks. 

Jimin and jin stand still as they look at jungkook and then the empty place beside him “sweetheart did you eat food? Like actual food?” Jimin asks, making jungkook blink and then nod taehyung flicks his forehead making jimin yelp.

“I told you i can cook” he says sounding indignant “alright, alright” jin says, jungkook looks between them with a small smile 

“Then you can keep this for lunch" jin says, handing him a bag of food, “and namjoon sent these papers, for you to check and let him know if you need  any changes. He says 

“Alright” he says taking them, “let me just check your leg” hajoon says as he sits down to inspect it “hmm… i wouldn't say better, but if you rest you will heal soon” the omega smiles at him.

“T-thank you” jungkook whispers, others stare at him in shock and then looks at taehyung who is already smiling softly  jimin breaks out into a huge smile “he speaks” he utters “of course you dummy” jin says 

“You're welcome” hajoon says with a smile, “you have a pretty voice pup” jin utters making jungkook blush , “alright now out” Taehyung says trying to  push them out. 

“Okay okay we're leaving jeez” jimin says pouting jin nods as hajoon laughs “anyway have a good day head alpha” he says turning to smile mischievously at taehyung making the alpha shut the door on their faces. 

Jungkook immediately whips his head in his direction “h-head alpha?” He gently asks. Taehyung gives him a sheepish smile “yeah he says but to his horror jungkook is immediately scrambling of the bed and trying to put more pressure on his injured leg 

“No wait” Taehyung says as he walks up to him and holds him “NOO” jungkook screams “p-please dont hurt me" he cries in taehyung's hold.

Taehyung freezes then gently places his hands on the omegas hand “relax pup” he whispers voice a deep timbre as he tries to soothe him 

His scent fresh lik the forest spreads out on the room as his chest rumbles as he picks a struggling omega and place him on the bed 

“Look at me” he says as jungkook  nervously looks up at him through damp lashes “i-ll be good promise” he cries, as taehyung's heart aches 

“What's your name?” Taehyung asks him as he hugs himself refusing to stop crying “j-jeon jungkook” he utters hiccuping, taehyung gives him a soft smile “jungkook” he says 

“No one is going to hurt you here, not me, not my friends and not even my pack! No one has the right to hurt anyone no matter who they are!” He stresses 

“So alpha wont send me back he asks” sniffling “no one is going to send you back sweetheart, not on my watch” “and of course not until you want to leave on your own” he says

Jungkook nods “did your previous pack trouble you?” Taehyung questions jungkook gives him a teary nod, 

Taehyung's jaw clenches but he decides to remain neutral! “Jungkook, you're here now and safe  this is my pack no one here is going to treat you that way” 

“And if they do i will take care of them myself, better yet you can do anything you want to do to such wolves” 

“I-i cant, how can I?” He says the thought of punishing people that hurt him never give to him before, “and why not?” Taehyung questions jungkook opens his mouth to say something but there's nothing to say because he has no answer to that

“Jungkook, you're no one's, but your own, you are your own person! You are a living breathing being just like everyone else,” Taeheyung says as he places a pillow under his leg.

“This is your life, don't let others take it away from you” he speaks his voice, a soothing balm to jungkook's wounded heart.

“Thank you alpha" he says, his throat closing up with emotions, “how old are you?” Taehyung asks “28” the omega answers "then call me hyung” he says leaning forward to ruffle his hair.

“H-hyung” jungkook says shyly making taehyung give him a bright smile “my men that you met yesterday are also older than you, they are my closest circle, my friends and  my family, it seems like they've adopted you too” he laughs 

“But be careful though, they are also very clingy” he smiles, jungkook smiles looking at the alphas unique boxy smile 

Taehyung places a hand on jungkook's “whenever you need help, you can always come to me” taehyung speaks softly, his voice just a whisper between them.

“All that aside” Taehyung says as he straightens “there's one thing you need to know” he looks at him seriously “as long as you're okay and are willing to you can live here, and leave whenever you want to.” He says as he he stands up 

“But when you stay here, you should know people are gonna be weary and i really will try my best to assure them that you're no harm, as you live with me they are already aware of it.” 

He says turning to stare outside “but there are people who still don't trust easily for example the olders ones and the elders, and to make them see and know that you're innocent, you have to work your magic, and earn their trust” taehyung looks back at him 

“Are you willing to do that?” He asks the younger omega.

Jungkook gives him a nod “I will try my beast alp- hyung” he says. Taehyung chuckles that's great 

“Would you like to have a look around the pack?” He asks jungkook unconsciously pouts looking at his leg and taehyung is endeared “dont worry about it” he says as he walks to the out of the room to get something as jungkook looks on 

Soon taehyung gets a “wheelchair” jungkook whispers “hmm its to help yourself when i or the others aren't around” 

“Thank you for everything you guys have done for me, I will try my best to repay everything” he sniffs “What if i tell you there is a way to repay us” taehyung tells him “there's is?” Jungkook questions

“Hmm” Taehyung nears the omega's face “you can repay us by taking good care of yourself” he says as he tucks a stray piece of hair behind his ears.

Jungkook blushes like a tomato, “i-i'll try” he whispers “and thats all i want” taehyung smiles, “okay let's get going then” he says 

Taehyung places his hands under Jungkook’s knees as jungkook's hands easily go around his shoulders as the alpha carefully picks him up 

He takes him to the washroom to shower “uhh do you maybe want me to call anyone to help” he asks to which firmly denies “sweetheart how will you stand?” Taehyung asks 

Jungkook sighs “okay, can you call some-” he gets cut-off by hajoon's voice “hyung, we  need your help at the office,” “well looks like the goddess heard our prayers” he says as he calls out for the other omega 

Hajoon immediately agrees in helping the omega who thanks him shyly “am sorry” he says “no, am glad i can help” hajoon says wrapping his leg in a large plastic cover, he leaves jungkook to do his basic necessities and helps him when jungkook calls for him 

By the time he's out of the shower he is dressed in the alpha's softest most comfiest clothes and smells of the alpha's shampoo and him.

“Done” hajoon smiles “are you comfy?” He asks, jungkook nods, sending him a grateful smile when they hear a knock and taehyung calling for them “are you guys done? Do you need any help?”hajoon laughs “so impatient, why would we need your help head alpha? You can come in by the way” he says smiling as helps jungkook towards the bed

After waiting for an hour that felt like an eternity, Taehyung can finally take the omega out for a much needed breather. 

He opens the door to the room but stills at the sight before him, there sat jungkook wearing his clothes looking like an angel that just fell from above in his white clothes looking cozy and smelling like him 

His wolf growls satisfied “breathtaking”  it says.

“You're staring” hajoon's teasing voice breaks his dreamy spell as taehyung is jolted back to the present, he clears his throat “Am taking jungkook on a tour of the pack and then get back to the office” he mutters 

“Okay, I'll let the others know” hajoon says as he leaves “ready” taehyung asks “I have to be” jungkook says, “you're going to be fine, but if you don't feel okay let me know, I'll immediately get you home” he says 

Jungkook nods appreciatively. They soon set out for the tour as jungkook sits on the wheelchair and taehyung pushes the chair from behind him. “Your house is beautiful hyung” jungkook whispers in awe “thank you, i initially made it having a family in mind, but he shrugs “y-uhh.. you dont have a mate?” He  questions taehyung smiles wistfully. “There's more to life than just a mate” jungkook adds in a soft voice “thats exactly what i think” Taehyung says “but it's just the expectations of the pack that gets tiring sometimes” he adds wheeling jungkook to the pack.

The whispers are immediate but taehyung just greets everyone as jungkook ducks down, “its the rogue” someone's whispers “but he doesn't look anything like one” another's adds scolding the older person “she's right, he’s pretty but what's shocking is the head alpha” the baker whispers “whats wrong with the head alpha?” the guard asks 

“He's actually out like seen out! After a long time” the bakery whispers back “you're right and not just that he's actually been caring for the rogue! In his own house at that!” The guard says 

“That's.. do you think he found his mate?” Another voice whispers but slower as the small group of people gasp whispers of is he? And could be! Raising in the air “but the alpha would know if the rogue was his mate! And if he is, why hasn't he announced it yet?” another question is thrown “only luna knows  now don't hover or bug him for answers, move! Go home!” An elder scolds as people start scampering

“Sorry, they are just nosy” Taehyung whispers as he shows him around the market “its okay hyung they just want whats best for you just like you want whats best for them” jungkook says as he leans back to stare up at the alpha behind him 

“So wise!” Taehyung bops his nose making jungkook scrunch it in return, taehyung stops near a silent almost empty bakery when the door bangs open and a small ball of fur literally leaps at the alpha 

Taehyung immediately catching the baby wolf in his arms as he tickles her making the wolf bark at him as her mother's comes out rushing from inside “yumi” she scolds 

“Head alpha” she bows "you've come after a  long time” the woman smiles but turns exasperated “yah! Go inside and come greet oppa properly” she scolds again making the pup whine as she runs inside

After what seems like a while the pup gets outside the house as she pouts at taehyung “is my princess angry” Taehyung squats down to her height as the little girl nods puffing her already puffed cheeks “she gave up all hope of seeing you, she was inconsolable the first few days” her mother says 

“Am sorry noona, i should've done better” taehyung speaks voice apologetic “none of that, just don't vanish on us next time.  We worry about you taehyungie” she speaks softly concern evident in her eyes “I will” taehyung assures her immediately picking yumi and placing ticklish kisses all over her face 

“Oppa! Stop!” She giggles screeching as she wiggles down from his hold only to run and hide behind jungkook 

“Beautiful prince will save me” she declares as jungkook looks flabbergasted “uh hi?” he says “hi oppa, you are handsome just like prince taetae” yumi  blabbers “why thank you” jingkook gives her a smile..

“That's right your very handsome” yumi's mother speaks from beside the alpha as she looks in between them, taehyung shakes his head “i bought jungkookie here on a tour and thought let me take him to my most favorite people and the best baker in pack” he says 

Mina yumi's mother swats at him “too much praise alpha” she laughs “well it is what it is” taehyung says proudly. 

“Come on in” she says as she opens the door for them, taehyung guides him inside carefully “what would you like to eat?” She asks pointing at variety of dishes at him

Jungkook looks like a confused puppy making taehyung smile “hmm do you want to try  anything chocolate, strawberry, or any other flavours?” He asks as jungkook bites his lips and then looks up at taehyung with  hopeful wide eyes “anything banana?” He asks still hesitant and truly overwhelmed by the constant attention and care he's getting.

“Oh we just made something, would you like to try?” Mina asks 

Jungkook looks at taehyung who just smiles at him “dont hesitate” he says making jungkook nod “i-i would l-love too” he says immediately looking down 

“Okay! I hope you like it” Mina seems as she takes a loaf of what looks like bread but it smells delicious “its looks perfect and smells amazing” noona taehyung assures 

She cuts a piece of it and hands it to taehyung who immediately points it towards jungkook “omega's first” he says as the piece of cake is handed over to him.

“Go on eat and let me know” Mina urges 

Jungkook tentatively takes one bite and his eye open wide as the taste hits him, he takes another bite and his eyebrows scrunch, “it looks like you dont like it” Mina says as jungkook's eyes widen 

“No! I love it, I Like it!” He almost screams “but oppa was looking angry when he ate, like this” the pup says pointing at her own furrowed eyebrows.

“T-that my appa used to say I always frowned when i ate good food” he smiles sheepishly rubbing the back  of his neck as taehyung and Mina smile at him. 

“So from now on whenever I dont see you frown while eating, I am just gonna guess you don't like the food,” taehyung says as jungkook whines at him. 

“So more bread?” Mina asks “pack it for us noona” taehyung says as he goes to pay “nu-uh” she says as she packs the remaining bread neatly and walks over to jungkook as she places the still warm banana bread in his hands “this is a small gift from me and yumi” she says as yumi settles in taehyung's arms 

“Welcome to the pack Jungkookie” she adds

“Welcome” yumi repeats as taehyung places a kiss on her cheeks as jungkook tears up “thank you mina-ssi” jungkook sniffs “call me noona” the woman smiles at jungkook 

Jungkook feels his heartache lessen a bit  more today as he nods at her  they soon wave their goodbyes at them as taehyung next shows him the infirmary, training grounds and the schools of his pack where all the pups had gathered around jungkook and taehyung to come greet their alpha

Jungkook loved how progressive the pack was, allowing pups of all ranks to sit together and learn, and help in shaping their future. 

The omega always wanted to be a teacher, but everything does not go as planned, he learnt that the hard way. 

The alpha then shows him pack house where they meet the rest of the group seokjin and yoongi taking care of the food while jimin and hoseok take over arranging the dishes 

While namjoon looks over some papers “rule no.1 never let namjoon enter anywhere near the kitchen, he's way too clumsy for his own good” taehyung whispers making jungkook giggle 

“Having fun at my expense aren't you?” namjoon asks amused “can you blame us” taehyung shakes his head 

“here alpha” hoseok hands taehyung some papers “we need your signature on those” he tells “thank you hoseok” he says as he sits beside namjoon to check the papers.

“Did you like the pack?” Yoongi confronts the younger omega who feels a bit out of place as the alpha had left his side “yes  you guys have a beautiful pack” jungkook whispers shyly.

“That's all taehyung” yoongi utters “he worked hard to get this pack out of the trenches” he murmurs 

“He's a good alpha” jungkook says softly “already?” Yoongi teases as jungkook splutters, making him laugh “relax, i was just teasing you” he says “I might have just met him, but he's been nothing but kind to me, a rogue out of everyone. So that says a lot about how good and kind hyung is.” 

Yoongi stares at the omega who watches taehyung with soft eyes “something's different” he thinks 

“What are you thinking?” Jimin places his head on his shoulders “them” yoongi points making jimin trail his eyes that land on jungkook who stares at taehyung with something akin to admiration and care, while taehyung looks up from his papers as his eyes search for someone and when they land on the younger omega he gives him soft smile filled with adoration.

Jimin and yoongi inhales sharply as they look at each other as jimin's hold tightens on yoongi 

“But yoon, they would know if they were mates but nothing like that h-has happened” jimin speaks voice filled with sorrow as yoongi's scent envelopes jimin comforting him 

“Finding the one meant for you doesn't really have to be your fated one, they can find love normally too” he says running a soothing hand on jimin's back.

“They can” jimin nods “but what if they find their respective partners along the way? That would mean breaking each other's heart” he says worried 

“Then we pray to luna that she to give them all the strength in the world, and if they ever meet then may this thing between them remain strong to overcome all the obstacles thrown their way” yoongi utters leaning into jimin 

“I hope so too” jimin whispers as he hugs his mate 

“If you both are done whispering come help us, the rest of the pack will be here soon” Taehyung calls them 

“Yeah yeah” jimin utters as they quickly go over to help the others.

“Hyung” jungkook grabs taehyung's shirt behind him making the alpha look at him “is it okay for me to stay here” he asks biting at his bottom lip

Taehyung nods seriously “if anyone has a problem they can walk away” he says assuring him.

As lunch time nears, the pack diner slowly gets crowded, jungkook sits between taehyung and and namjoon the whispers even though there are not as loud as the morning.

Jungkook is just about to sink even further down his seat when a shrill voice errors in the air “taetae oppa! prince kookie!” Making taehyung snort and the guys around them laugh 

“Looks like you're her prince now, prince kookie!” Taehyung mocks, jungkook mock glares at him. “Yumi!” Mina sighs so done with her as the little girl runs up to them, launching herself at them.

“Careful” taehyungs says “he's hurt we do not want to accidentally hurt him do we?” He makes her understand yumi looks at jungkook with wide eyes “am sorry” she says sadly “its alright pup” he says bending forward to poke her cheeks.

Her mother comes to take her but the little girl refuses to leave making the people in the hall laugh at her antiques “it's okay noona, you can leave her here we will take care of everything” taehyung assures her “alright” she says sighing.

They sit like that as they talk and taehyung entertaining all of yumi's antiques and jungkook gently feeding her food in between as the pack watches their head alpha who had slowly withdrawn spending time with a rogue laughing at something the omega says as they both take care of the pup on his lap.

Yumi takes a flower from the bunch of it she was clutching and places it near taehyung's ear as she leans back to inspect it, she nods seriously “oppa is good looking” she says placing her small hands on his face and nodding making taehyung and jungkook laugh loudly. She then turns around and takes another flower and leans forward to tuck one behind jungkook's ear making the omega blush making her eyes shine “oppa pretty” she whispers in awe as jungkook turns red while taehyung looks mesmerised at the sight of the pretty omega before him.

Taehyung's friends watch with small smiles decorating their face jin leans on namjoon “never seen him so out and… smiley” he says in a low voice as namjoon hums 

“If he's happy then am glad” namjoon utters while yoongi and jimin share a sweet smile while going back to eating.

“Went to Hyung’s house today” hajoon whispers into hoseok's shoulder “he… was different” he mutters “how” hoseok asks as he presses a kiss to his mates forehead “the gentle care as he looks after  jungkookie, the way he himself left that house without us having to force him, most of all he looks free” he whispers 

“Then that's a good thing, if he finds happiness in this then we are so glad for him. He out of everyone deserves the beauty love can bring into one's life” hoseok chokes 

“Dont worry hyung if they're meant to be they will! And I am sure all of us think the same way.. well except for hyung and kook  ofcourse” he giggles making hoseok laugh 

“Those two are going to take time” he whispers “well not until we are here” jimin whispers from beside them “yah! Leave them alone” namjoon scolds “they need a gentlee push” jin says putting  emphasis on gentle.

“Why do i even bother” namjoon utters as seokjin places a kiss on his cheek.

Jungkook gently wipes the pups mouth as she slightly snores away on taehyung's lap “did you like your first day in the pack” taehyung asks as he adjusts yumi on his lap.

“Yes! Your pack is amazing hyung” he says sincerely “i know they are hesitant but i promise i will work hard to prove myself alpha” he says “I know you will” taehyung says as Mina comes to take yumi with her “she's always being a little menace” she says picking her up “a cute little menace taehyung says” as they laugh.

Soon the pack diner empties out as taehyung lets jungkook says his bye, some of them approach jungkook with warm smiles as they welcome him to the pack making jungkook’s heart aches in fondness but a part of him slowly aches 

“We need to tell the alpha” he thinks sighing “at this rate you'll be accepted in no time” he smiles at him warmly as jungkook gives him a troubled smile, the alpha doesn't prod though 

“Let's go home?” He questions the omega “yes please” jungkook says “before that l” jungkook speaks as he takes a huge breath “I need to tell hyungs something” he speaks fidgeting 

“What is it pup” jin asks as they all gather around to sit near waiting for him to speak.

“I- wanted to let you all know before you could  initiate me into the pack” he says taehyung nods giving his hand a tight squeeze

“I am an omega, i have all the traits of one… and can also speak to him and him to me but i-i" he shudders as tears spring to his eyes 

“I can never shift, I can only prove myself as an omega because of my scent and regular heats, but other than that” he shakes his head biting his lip hard 

The others look stunned never have they ever heard a wolf not shifting scratch that jungkook and everyone literally everyone knows he's an omega and if jungkook hadn't told them they would never know 

“Am a defect-” he tries telling when taehyung's voice cuts in “says who?” He asks as he stands 

“People talk regardless jungkook but i expected you to do better,  would you treat me the same way you treat yourslef?” He turns around to ask him face stoic

Jungkook immediately shakes his head “calm down hyung, you might scare him” jimin pipes in as taehyung reigns his emotions in, he doesn't know why he acted like that, he just wanted jungkook to stop speaking so low about himself his wolf growling with him to agree.

“Sorry” he mutters sighing, “I want you to know there's nothing wrong with you, you're fine just the way you are” he says softer this time, jungkook still looks down but gives him a nod 

“But hyung the pack initiation requires jungkook to shift, now what do we do” jin questions as they all get tensed. “The pack should under no circumstances know of this for now” taehyung orders “yes alpha” they answer him.

Because if the pack knows then jungkook wouldnt be let to live here for longer because to them any human that is alienated from his or her wolf would be branded a traitor. There were rules made up by wolves long ago that the moon goddess took away ones wolf when the particular wolf had committed treason 

And even taehyung wouldn't be able to convince his pack this time, even though they all know its a myth a rule made up by someone long ago to teach them to behave properly 

“Well too bad they thought the world wouldn't progress” taehyung's wolf growls..

Namjoon sits there with his brows furrowed “what is it joon?” Taehyung questions “I think i read something similar like this long ago and there might be a cure to it” he says as jungkook's head snaps up.

“I think i might have read something similar too, but my theory is based on something else” hajoon speaks 

“Go on” namjoon says looking at him.

Hajoon turns to look at jungkook “I will ask you a few questions kook, if you do not want to talk about it, feel free to let me know okay?” He asks as jungkook nods hesitantly, taehyung interwines jungkook’s hand with his assuring him that everything will be okay. 

“Jungkook-ah, were you ever mistreated by your pack?” Hajoon asks,  taehyung stiffens in his chair as jungkook’s grip on his hand grows tighter 

His mind races with all the slurs, abuses and harsh treatment he was put through “defective omega, good for nothing bitch! How do we know what you are? Mate? You? Who would want a defective piece like you? Your just beautiful omega.. we want you here only because you are so beautiful otherwise no one would have ever looked at you!” 

Jungkook doesn't realise he had started hyperventilating until he feels taehyung's hands on his face gently guiding him to look into his eyes as the others scamper to give him air 

“Its okay, you're okay pup!” Taehyung guides his face towards the crook of his neck "you're safe here no one's going to hurt you” he adds as jungkook takes a lungful of fresh forest scent as he breathes it in. 

Taehyung knew it wasn't a good idea but he still put jungkook through all that “that's enough for today hajoon-ah” he says as he tries to stand but jungkook is shaking his head in a no 

“I-i want to t-tell” he hiccups “are you sure pup?” Taehyung asks him not really okay with it. “I am alpha” he whispers softly as he wipes his tears.

“Sorry kook” hajoon adds “not your fault hyung” jungkook says making the omega let out a breath “ok then ready when you are” hajoon speaks 

Jungkook's hold on taehyung's hand tightens as he slowly re-counts everything to them and finally what prompted him in running away from moonshade, making them curse but taehyung keeps rubbing soothing circles on his hand making it easier for jungkook to talk.

“Always knew they where fucking henious” jimin rages “how come there's no wolf committee or reports against them?” Hoseok questions incredulously. 

“There's definetly someone working with them in the council” jin utters “hyung is right, i mean how else could they escape it” yoongi adds. “Oh they definitely are” taehyung growls.

“Now back to the topic on hand” namjoon says calmly as hajoon nods 

“This might have something to do with your wolf not appearing” hajoon speaks “or more like not wanting to approach anyone” namjoon says 

“you mean jungkook's omega has suppressed itself due to all the trauma?” taehyung asjs   “exactly!” Hajoon says.

“Jungkook’s wolf must have retreated into himself to protect itself and only communicates to jungkook while he's in trouble by guiding him or as a companion.” Namjoon says 

“jungkook-ah do you have a mate?” Hajoon questions as taehyung's jaw ticks but he holds back “no hyung” jungkook whispers “how is that related to this?” Hoseok questions

“It's  a possibility that jungkook's wolf might show itself when he finds his mate” hajoon says “you mean his wolf can emerge when jungkook feels safe” jin adds making hajoon nod 

“So that could mean it can even emerge when he's with us, if we make him believe he can trust us and when he feels safe with us?” Yoongi questions purposely trying to appease the sulking alpha in the room.

“Yeah, it's a possibility” hajoon hums “then lets try our best to help jungkookie” taehyung adds as he places a hand in the middle “hell yeah” jimin yells as he places his hand on top of his, followed by yoongi, namjoon and seokjin followed by hoseok and hajoon.

Taehyung looks at jungkook who looks at them tearily “thank you so much hyungs” he whispers “let us help you, let me help carry some of that burden with you” taehyung speaks

Something inside jungkook crumbles, his wolf giving soft barks inside his head as he wags his tail. “So what do you say” taehyung asks, pointing at their hands, jungkook repeatedly nods sniffling as he places his hands on top of theirs.

Taehyung places his other hand on top of jungkook's as he looks at everyone they all give him big smiles “we will try our best” they say in unison "thank you for everything” jungkook whispers

As they go home after a promise of meeting tomorrow, Taehyung decides to get to know jungkook more “what did you like the most today? I mean what made you feel like it was so you?” he questions 

“I loved the school,” Jungkook chirps excitedly. “I always wanted to be a teacher, I had rebelled my way to study as much as i could but now it feels like this wish of mine will always be a fever dream of mine” he says melancholic.

taehyung just smiles but doesn't give  anything away  “all you have to do is trust pup” jungkook hums lost in thoughts.

They arrive at their hut, taehyung gently laying him down to rest after giving him his meds. 

Taehyung opens the door and hands a piece of paper to his guard, “take this to my eomma” he says “yes alpha” the guard bows.

The alpha sits on the other side of the bed as he watches jungkook sleep “you deserve all the happiness and while you're here I'll make sure you get all that you deserve” he says 

He gets up slowly not wanting to disturb the omega when he feels a tug at his sleeve followed by a sleepy mumble “you can sleep here alpha” jungkook says taehyung tries to refuse but a pout from jungkook makes him relent.

Taehyung slowly gets back on the bed, careful not to move too much in case he hurts the omega’s already injured leg. He lays down, jungkook looks at him with half closed eyes as the alpha stares back at him 

“You're handsome” the omega giggles making taehyung snort “are you sure you're not drunk” taehyung whispers but jungkook is already gone   taehyung muffles his laugh into the pillow. 

“Cute” his wolf says. “Yeah, cute” he says agreeing.

taehyung 's eomma gets his letter her hopes raise a bit as her husband taehyung's appa stand's behind her reading over her shoulder 

“You better tell my pup and that sweet boy you're sorry Kim Dongmin!” She scolds tearily. “I was just worried, jang-mi” he says tiredly “I dont care! You upset the poor pup who looked absolutely kind and he looks like he really needed a hug! By speaking against him you hurt our pup! You went against everything taehyung is fighting for!” She stresses 

“Alright! Alright! now calm down i will go ask for forgiveness tomorrow and bring them to the school myself till then you can look into what our pup  asked of you” 

“You better!” She says 

They stay like watching the moon shine in the sky jang-mi turns to her husband “do you think…?” she questions “only time will tell my love” he says looking back at the moon 

“Luna.. please take my pups pain away” he prays

Next morning jungkook slowly stirs from his sleep as he looks beside him, his eyes immediately widening as he comes face to face with taehyung’s face which looks smooth without any frown marring his face.

His eyes fall on his sharp jaw and then his lips which looks rosy, jungkook gulps, the longer he stares at him the more he becomes mesmerised “handsome” he thinks 

“You done staring pup!” his deep baritone rasps sending shivers down his spine as his eyes snap to taehyung's who looks amused, as he tries to muffle his laughter but his shaking shoulders are a dead giveaway.

Jungkook is mortified, he squeaks immediately turning away from the alpha as he squeezes his eyes shut

“Nothing wrong with a bit of staring" taehyung utters rather boldly and even he looks surprised by whatever he just said, he clears his throat “come on you can start brushing, jimin is going to help you today, I had already informed him to be here on time” he says standing up.

Taehyung helps jungkook as he carries him to the washroom and lets him brush while he keeps a pair of warm clothes for the omega to wear, all the while jungkook chooses to keep his gaze down. 

When jimin arrives he excuses himself to make breakfast for them, jimin being jimin immediately notices the tension in the air as he smiles like a cheshire cat “wonder what happened” he looks at jungkook as he wiggles his eyebrows and jungkook blushes scarlet.

“So something did happen” he prods “n-nothing happened” jungkook stammers “whatever you say pup” jimin coos pinching his red cheeks. 

As taehyung is cooking jimin gets jungkook to the dining area  just as the bell rings “jimin-ah take care of the pancakes” he says leaving jimin to handle the stove..

He opens the door to find his father standing there he bows “appa” he says as hehfolds his hand against his chest. “Wont you invite me in, are you that angry at appa” dongmin asks as taehyung rolls his eyes. 

“Come in, but please refrain from talking about certain things” he says as he lets his father inside, dongmin gets in “uncle?” Jimin says surprised as jungkook immediately bows.

“it's one of the alphas who questioned his motive” he thinks “and jimin called him uncle that means..” “Hello pup,” the man smiles at jimin then he looks at Jungkook. “Hello Jungkook-ssi, I am kim dongmin, Kim taehyung's appa” he says as jungkook bows again.

“Nice to meet you, sir” he says before taehyung cuts in “what do you want appa?” taehyung questions, dongmin smiles apologetically “I came here to ask for  jungkook’s forgiveness” he says sincerely. 

Jungkook is immediately shaking his head “no, i was wrong! I just cant say something based on assumptions, I was wrong and i accept it. I am sorry. But you don't have to forgive me” he bows ashamed 

“Please don't bow, you are older than me” “and I know it might have felt really scary to know that a rogue just randomly show up, your concerns are valid rightfully so” jungkook speaks giving him a soft smile “please don't ask for forgiveness, you were just looking out for your pack” he adds giving him a smile

Taehyung feels proud for some reason. Dongmin shakes his head “you're way too kind, I know my son and i should have trusted him and his instincts better” he says with a small smile painting his face

“You should have” Taehyung mocks glares “and jungkookie doesn't hold grudges” “jungkookie?” Dongmin, jimin and his wolf question in sync 

Making taehyung glares at them and ignore his wolf barking at him as jungkook blushes picking at the thread in his pants

“Now why are you here appa?” Taehyung questions with a blank face “ahh good thing you remind me, iam here to escort you and jungkookie here somewhere” he says 

Taehyung smiles amusedly okay he says “but before that breakfast he  says” as they sit down to quickly eat some of it “you can cook and you decided to hide it from us?” Jimin says “do you think i survived on air all this time?” Taehyung hits back “we literally took care of you hyung” jimin answers as they bicker back and forth as they quickly eat and get ready to leave.

They bid farewell to jimin and follow behind dongmin “where are we going today hyung” jungkook questions “well you'll see” taehyung answers not divulging anything 

Soon they reach a building that looks like a school jungkook's face immediately lighting up, a petite woman waits for them at the entrance and as soon as she sees them her face lights up a boxy smile decorating her face 

“Oh” jungkook thinks 

“Eomma” taehyung speaks fondly as he she comes forward but instead of hugging him she pulls his ears 

“Ouch, ouch eomma!!” The alpha whines making jungkook hide his smile "how dare you not visit me” she scolds letting go of his ears to pull him into a hug instead as she g places a kiss to his forehead 

“It's not my fault” he glares at his father who looks shocked “yah!!! So you just won't visit us because you're busy being angry?” He asks incredulous 

His mothers eyes then find jungkook who bows at her as she gives him an even bigger smile “this must be yo- jungkook-ssi” she immediately corrects herself as taehyung turns pink as he looks the other way “y-yeah” he utters 

As jungkook gives her shy smile “Hello jungkook-ssi, welcome to the pack, I am Kim jang-mi, taehyungie's eomma, and this dumb alphas wife” she says pointing at her husband.

“Also the schools principal” taehyung adds making jungkook’s eyes shine “nice to meet you mam” the omega bows as jang-mi bends down to cup his cheeks “call me eomma” she says as jungkook's eyes widen as he looks at taehyung who just shrugs back and smiles at him.

“Tae, take him in and show him around” she pushes her son who does as he's told “only call her that if you're comfortable with it” he whispers as jungkook nods too overwhelmed to speak his wolf wagging it's tail in his head.

“I have a good feeling about them” jang-mi says to her husband as they watch taehyung and jungkook go further “how would you know? And they havent-” he tries “dongmin! Am his eomma, i just know” she whispers “okay then, i know not to doubt, i trust your instincts” he smiles at her.

After taehyung shows jungkook around the school, jang-mi takes the omega away explaining how everything works as they sit in her office sipping some tea as they giggle at taehyung's baby pictures as she recalls his embarrassing moments.

“You guys done laughing at my expense” taehyung says not impressed “you were such cute kid hyung” jungkook says as taehyung shakes his head embarrassed 

His eomma stands “jungkook-ah, now that you're familiar with a school for a bit, how about you help me handle these sweet pups as we are short of one teacher” she asks hopefully 

Jungkook gapes at her “but i-how?” He looks at taehyung for help “I don't know how to handle i-i've never” he spirals as taehyung kneels before him as he grips his chin gently 

“You'll only know what you can or cant do by trying, and we never know” he says spreading his scent around them making jungkook control his emotions and be stable 

“This is a great opportunity to help start our plan, we can start from here!! it will also help the pack in seeing you for who you are” he tells making jungkook look at him 

“Do you think they will trust me around their pups” he asks softly as if scared. Taehyung's eomma places her hand on his shoulder “they do, i already sent out a letter informing them and so far eased the complaints and if anyone still has a  problem they can take it up with the head alpha” she says proudly 

Taehyung nods making the omega tear up as he cries softly, taehyung's heart breaks for the sweet boy before him, his eomma nods at him and gently squeezes jungkook’s shoulder before leaving.

Taehyung, unable to see him cry, pulls him into a hug making the sob harder “how long has he suppressed all these feelings?” He thinks as jungkook cries into his shoulder as he sobs out a “thank you hyungie” making taehyung smile “I did nothing” he says even though jungkook knows its not true

The omega knows that him getting a job in a school under the alpha's mother is all the alpha's doing, he lets taehyung pretend and himself act as if dosent know it.

They both know the other knows but decide to keep it quiet. As jungkook hugs the alpha tighter. Taehyung noses his temple scenting him slightly as if in a trance.

Jungkook snaps his eyes open at the alpha scenting him, but he doesn't move as he melts into him as he closes his  eyes again, feeling all the hurt and pain leave him as his heart feels light in a very long time.

He feels something in him grow a bit stronger and his wolf growl in satisfaction of it all.

Taehyung and jungkook grow closer each day, they fall asleep discussing Jungkook's wolf and their morning sessions with their friends who get together to help jungkook gain confidence in himself. Jungkook grows attached to taehyung , he always seeks out the alpha whenever he feels like he's not doing good or not putting more effort into training, the alpha always assuring him he's doing great. They always get home late by taking long walks as they stop to talk with the people looking, well taehyung does all the talking and always ends up getting more banana bread for jungkook.

Taehyung loves the bunny smile which has now become more prominent on jungkook's face. They often fall asleep to taehyung reading books for him in his deep voice, finding themselves waking up to each other but a bit closer than the day before.

Taehyung lets jungkook go around town without him, as he lets his friends engage with the omega as they take him to more places and their work field showing him whatever there is to be learnt. That way jungkook can engage in more stuff and get more independent. 

Jimin and yoongi take turns in taking jungkook to the training area as they show him the basics of fighting and protecting himself, even though he can't move without anyone's help he carefully watches their moves as he stores every information and technique given to him in the corner of his mind.

While Hajoon often checks his leg for him hoseok teaches him the weak essentials of the animals especially a predator and how to knock them out without getting killed “but hyung me fighting” he had asked when hoseok had shrugged at him “its important to know certain things even if it's the basics, because we never know when they come in handy” he had smiled his famous sunshine smile making jungkook agree. The group had even taken him to their hunting trip where he had watched a live demo.

He helped jin in the kitchen during dinners since he knew how to cook no matter how much the beta denied “hyung let me help until i begin teaching atleast” he pouts making jin give up “no wonder the mighty Kim taehyung easily gives up” he mutters under his breath making jungkook blush but a small smile paints his face.

Namjoon gives him more insight on his wolf and how he would know when his wolf is ready to show itself or how he would know when the time is near, when jungkook mentions feeling more connected to his wolf and how he feels he can breathe a bit easy now, namjoon smile at him “then maybe the time is not far, you might achieve the goal even before you meet you're mate” he had told making jungkook question the mixed emotions he feels when he thinks about his mate.

He pushes it off for now, “if there's mentions of golden eyes alphas and silver eyed omegas being real then there's definitely a book out there with cases like yours” namjoon had told him 

Jungkook had frowned “golden eyed alpha's and silver eyed omega's?” Jungkook questioned “hyung aren't they just myths?” he had laughed, whereas namjoon had paused “right.. taehyung hadn't told the omega anything yet nor had he shifted into his wolf with jungkook present not even during them hunting, the alpha always sat next to jungkook in his human form” 

Now in the present namjoon winces “he shouldn't have opened his mouth” he thinks “hyung” jungkook calls as their remaining group enters 

“Whats new” jin grins at them as they all take a seat while taehyung and jungkook share small smiles with each other. “Nothing hyung just namjoon hyung talking about how real golden eyed alphas and silver eyed omegas are” jungkook chirps as everyone freezes 

Jungkook feels the tension in the air as everyone freeze his smile fades turning into concern “d-did I say something wrong?” He asks “uh-no i mean” jimin stammers while namjoon gives taehyung a sorry look “am sorry hyung” he says as taehyung jaw clenches tightly 

Hajoon breaks the silence “its time  I think you should tell him hyung”  he says sofy as taehyung lets out a harsh breath “tell me what?” jungkook asks training those soft doe eyes on taehyung.

“I need to tell- well i need to show you something” he says as he gets up “lets go to the forest” he says as he looks at everyone sternly “and if jungkook is scared then you need to take him away” he says turning around to leave whenever jungkook immediately holds his hand “as long as i have you, i wont ever feel scared not even of you” he says softly 

The others feel very happy listening to jungkook talk like that about their alpha.

“We will know about that in a few seconds” taehyung says “we will” jungkook says confidently

They all reach the forest as they stand there waiting for taehyung to finally reveal his secret, jungkook sits there patiently. Waiting.

Taehyung stands before him as he slowly peels his tee off him, jungkook squeaks covering his eyes “w-what are you doing?” he shouts as he peeks from between his fingers 

“Just watch” he says as the man before him begin to shift, his bones rearranging themselves in unnatural ways

Jungkook watches in awe how his golden skin and abs are replaced by shiny black fur, and now before jungkook stands a huge black wolf.

The wolf before him lifts his head and opens his eyes making jungkook gasp “golden eyes” he whispers, taehyung searches for any sort of hesitation or any inclination that the omega is afraid of him.. but he finds nothing

Instead what he finds is pure awe and excitement radiating of off him, taehyung more like his wolf tilts his head to side making jungkook chuckle “he looks like a puppy” he snickers making the others bark out a laugh.

Taehyung growls baring his teeth non threateningly making jungkook laugh, he wheels himself forward but immediately stops when taehyung steps back 

Jungkook watches the alpha hesitate his eyes not meeting his, the omega’s heart aches his own wolf whining at him, as his hyungs feel the pain their alpha goes through  but they dont intervene letting jungkook handle it 

Jungkook lends his hand forward “you wont hurt me alpha” he says when taehyung still dosent make a move “please” he whispers 

Taehyung moves then as he slowly lets his snout rub against jungkook’s palm who remains perfectly still then taehyung brings his head towards his palm as they all watch how taehyung gets comfortable under the omega’s touch 

Taehyung's tail wags faster now as he walks more closer to the omega sitting before him and places his big head on his lap As he looks up at him with huge eyes 

Jungkook gives the wolf a huge smile, his nose scrunching and bunny teeth on display as he rubs a hand on his head, and moves to scratch behind his ears making the wolf bark in content.

As he rubs his face against jungkook's legs who laughs at the big bad wolf “you look like a little pup” he says making the wolf whine.

“Would you look at that big bad alpha whining” jin says smirking making taehyung glares at him. They stay like that in the forest untill dawn having a mini picnic while taehyung stays in his wolf form as he sits in front of jungkook like he's guarding him 

When the time to leave arrives taehyung and jungkook stays behind while others walk walkd, taehyung is about to go shift when jungkook suddenly hugs him around the neck 

He rubs his face in taehyung's fur as he pulls back to rest his forehead against the alphas he gives him a sweet smile “see i told you, you could never scare me” he whispers “thank you alpha” he says as he pulls back “i” he suddenly stops

His eyes widen “n-nothing you should go change” he says as the alpha gives his hand a last rub before he walks behind a tree to change.

“What were you thinking?” Jungkook scolds himself as he immediately cools his features as taehyung emerges out of the bushes. 

“Thank you pup” he ruffles his hair as jungkook basks in his attention. 

That night when they lay down to sleep jungkook speaks after a lot of thought “hyung if the stories are true shouldn't there be someone.. made just f-for you” he asks hesitantly 

Taehyung shrugs “well i think i might be the first golden eyed wolf who dosent have a significant other” “and its better that way! You know the previous mates and their ancestors passed right? And that was brutal I wouldnt want to put my mate through all that” 

Jungkook nods the story was heartbreaking the fated pair as people called it were basically given the status of royalty blessed by the godess herself  they were powerful that no weapon could touch or harm them but every wolf had a major weakness their mate and so was the case for the fated pair.

They were no less every red moon a pack would be chosen that was blessed by the golden and silver eyed wolf who would go on to rule the packs and the surrounding packs around them maintaining order. 

And they were blessed with healthy powerful pups who would be a born royalty, with time some wolves became corrupt and with resentment came greed! Greed for power and the greed for rule.

And one day the golden rule of the fated pairs ended for good. 

As Kim Kwang-soo and Kim jeong-han's rule began they were known as one of the best fated pairs in a long long decade, the wolf packs had never seen such a powerful couple who ruled and turned everything they touched to gold.

Kwang-soo and jeong-han loved each other to death their shared passion for betterment of the packs and their people's future bought them even closer. 

But like ever story life and jealousy played a huge role their own minister jang jin-man played a huge role in bringing not only them but the entirety of the fated pairs bloodline to an end.

Jin-man was jealous of everything kwang-soo possessed from his friend circle, his education, his kingdom, his rule, his power and lastly his mate. He wanted everything kwang-soo had in a fit of madness he had started to plot Kwang-soo's demise he thought he could take his mate and kingdom after he dies and rule beside jeong-han as his. 

But a sudden announcement threw him off balance as he felt his world crumble and his illusion shatter as he sat in the court and listened  to the announcement of the so called king

“I Kim kwang-soo and my mate Kim Jeong-han announce that the Solaris Pack will soon have an heir, please give us all your blessings" the pack and the neighboring packs had roared with cheers and congratulations pouring on the couple while jin-man seethed silently 

When his time had come he hid is disdain at the sight of the omega’s bump and had carefully congratulated them “well i cant wait to be an uncle”  he had said as the alpha had laughed 

All the while jeong-han had seen the look in the alpha's eyes as he tried to cover his bump “you're over thinking” he had told himself.

Jin-man unfortunately saw the discomfort and had seethed “all the while that i loved you, is this how  i will be  getting paid? By looking down upon me? Dont worry my love, I will make sure I finish this once and for all!” “I will put an END to your entire Bloodline” he had roared with laughter. 

He takes out a flower from his bag as he begins to extract deadly poison from it. He had extracted this unique flower that bloomed once in a hundred years after a lot of searching for his mission to kill the king.

But he has to use it on his love instead” how ironic” he grins “that i need to use a flower called Hellebore's kiss on a beauty such as you to kill you” he grits 

He concocts the poison quickly and sends it through his servants inside the pack house “mix it in the luna's drink” he orders as they all nod and quickly disperse 

That night they all have their dinner while the alpha admires his mate when the wolves at the borders howl as their peace shatter, the couple immediately run outside only to watch in horror as the pack burns as people and children cry around them as they quickly usher everyone to run as far as  they can 

In the middle of it all they watch jin-man orchestrating the pack of rogue wolves leading them 

“What is the meaning of this?”  kwang-soo had snapped charging at jin-man who welcomed him with open arms as they rolled together on the ground clawing at eachother.

Amidst all this kwang-soo hadn't noticed his mate jeong-han clutching his stomach in pain as the poison works its way “my pup” jeong-han whimperes as he collapses turning breathless “my-my pup” he cries out as he feels the already formed connection with his pup Snap! 

TW// DEATH! 

The snap and the loss of their pup makes kwang-soo immediately turn to his mate in horror watching him lay on the ground as he coughs up blood. 

He tries getting to his mate but gets held back by jin-man the loss of his pup and the his mates bond slightly fading making him feel weak as he struggles in his hold “watch! Now watch him die! Watch your pack and bloodline die before your own eyes” jin-man screams sounding maniacal.

“No, jeong-han” he roars as jeong-han lays on the ground watching his mate struggle “maybe in another universe my love” he whispers into their fading mind link as he takes his last breath 

Kwang-soo felt his world stop as his mating bond vanishes leaving him with a hollow feeling on his chest

Jin- man grins as he drags him to the near by cliff “you see this should have been mine but you!” He spits “took everything away from me  even my beloved jeong-han who fell in love with you!!” He shouts making the alpha’s golden eyes snap to his “I had to kill him you see, because he would never love me” he holds his hand ready to push the alpha down the cliff “he was never yours” kwang-soo says “and nothing will ever fall in your hand,”  he grins bloody teeth showing as the alpha now pulls him closer tightening his hold on him as he chokes him 

“Because you're coming with me” he growls as he jumps off the cliff. Both of them meeting their tragicall ends, greed and jealousy had gotten jin-man nowhere and nothing but death in the end.

Jungkook has fallen asleep mid conversation making taehyung smile at him as he too went to bed, but his sudden cries wake taehyung up as he sits up to wake the omega who is drenched with sweat and crying for someone to not go

“Pup” taehyung taps his face concerned “pup! Its okay your safe no one is going anywhere” he says tapping his face harder this time as the omega's cries become more loud “jungkook! Wake up!” Taehyung shouts making the omega open his eyes immediately a flash of something passing over his eye but taehyung ignores it as jungkook’s wide eyes land on his worried face.

“You're okay pup” he says  as jungkook tears up again “alpha” he cries out clutching his short as taehyung scoots even closer than before “youre okay pup, it was just a bad dream” he shushes him “go back to sleep alpha is here now” he whispers running a hand through his soft locks 

Jungkook sniffles, turning his face and burying it closer to the alpha's chest as he deeply inhales his forest scent as he feels taehyung’s fingers carding through his hair that mixed with the alphas gentle purring puts him to deep sleep without any nightmares.

They both don't talk about the nightmare the next day  partly because jungkook doesn't remember most of it but also because they are too immersed in training 

All of them meet in the forest near an abandoned cenote which only the group knew of, it was their go to place, they went there to bond and whenever they needed some alone time, they had stumbled upon it as kids and since then it had become their sanctuary.

Jungkook had looked around in awe at the breathtaking place “this looks like heaven” he whispers to taehyung as the alpha gives him a smile “it is” he whispers back “are you ready to train” he had asked, jungkook gave him a firm nod 

And thus began their training sessions everyday from noon to dawn as they all transformed into their wolves surrounding jungkook in between as he meditated trying to connect to his wolf 

“He is not a separate being, neither is he an outsider, you're  wolf is a part of you, just your primal self” Taehyung's voice echoes. “Try coaxing him out but be gentle, don't force yourself” he says 

To make it more better taehyung scent marks the area marking it as a theirs, a clear boundary for protection, the five of them join him as they let their own scent permeate the air making jungkook feel at ease, and let his wolf know that they are no harm to him or jungkook. 

The next step being training jungkook to recognise their footsteps, making him focus so that he could listen to his surroundings clearly and hence they had blindfolded him making him use his ears.

As months passed by his leg had healed a lot also bonus because he was a wolf and they had great healing powers. Taehyung held him as he stood after a long time making him wobble like a newborn calf as he went stumbling into the alpha

Their chest now pressed together and faces inches apart, taehyung dint know how to react this thing between them confused him he dint want to get attached not when they were creatures that already had destined mates and when the time came, well if it came here he dint want to break the omega's heart. And the thought of not being with jungkook also hurt his heart, apparently something is definitely wrong with his wolf too. 

Taehyung hadn't expected jungkook to get so attached to him, those bunny smiles, shy gazes and hesitant touches were all leading into a very dangerous territory and all taehyung could do to prevent it was nothing,  as he found himself waiting for exactly all those touches, sweet gazes and comforting words call him desperate but it is what it is he doesn't know how this is going to end he just hopes it doesn't hurt anyone

Whom is he kidding 

Jungkook on the other hand was a goner, he dint mind whatever they had going on, he knew he was crossing a dangerous boundary but no one had ever dared to look or care for him the way taehyung had 

The alpha gave him everything he ever wished for as a pup, he knows if they find their mates it's going to be devastating as he is way too into his feelings for taehyung, he knows taehyung doesn't feel the same for him and that's already as sad as it is, he also knows taehyung is going to choose his mate over him because he's been waiting for them for so long.

That makes him disappointed, he tries to pacify himself by thinking it was okay he's going to take whatever he can get, and he also knew that  if he would ever find his own mate he wouldn't think a second about whom to choose even if taehyung dint reciprocate his feelings.

Jungkook had slowly begun walking as everyone helped him out as days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months and  months turned into a year jungkook was now a happy wolf he was able to walk, run and  jump. 

The people of the pack had slowly seen a hardworking man in jungkook, just like their alpha had told them jungkook proved to be a wonderful wolf 

He had begun teaching alongside other teachers and under the supervision of taehyung's eomma, the kids loved him always roaming behind him, one time the alpha had found him in the backyard of the school gently letting students draw doodles on his arms and style his hair as jungkook was busy getting a pup to transform into their human.

taehyung had chuckled at the exasperated look the omega had given him when the pup had refused making the alpha intervene.

The people also saw how happy their own alpha was. Taehyung was proud of jungkook and how hard he worked to earn his place in the pack and earn his place he slowly did as the pack had started accepting him 

Now smiling and saying there helloes to the omega unlike before when they would turn away, jungkook smiles brightly at them, taehyung's parents spoiled him rotten with more food and love to give, his friends helped him in his training

They thought him how to hunt and prey, where to attack a rogue animal and every possible thing he had to learn and finally the night had arrived. 

One evening as they all were getting ready to go back to their huts jungkook collapsed on the ground sweat coating his forehead and back, taehyung immediately rushes to him “its happening” he says as the scent of cedarwood becomes more prominent in the air

The others stay back only letting taehyung stay near him incase the omega thinks they are a threat “alpha” he whines 

Taehyung soothes him letting his own scent combining with his “its going to hurt pup  but you have to let nature take its course, don't rush it, feel it, let the power of the shift flow through your body” he says calmly 

As jungkook's bones bend and snap in irregular  shapes “dont hold back” taehyung growls softly “a-am trying” jungkook cries “almost there omega” Taehyung whispers his golden eyes now shining through his wolf feeling restlessly as he waits for something taehyung doesnt know what.

After an hour of what seems like waiting and anticipating jungkook's skin is finally being replaced with fur making everyone around him gasp in shock 

“W-white fur?” Jimin questions “very rare” namjoon nods seriously “that's incredible” hoseok whispers “looks like we have two very special wolves in our pack” hajoon says making them all nod “do you think… he’s going to have those silver eyes? The one taehyung has been waiting for?” Yoongi questions “we never know, but if he does.. we are going to have so many people hunting our pack down” jin grits his teeth, as they all nod “then it's our right to protect them and our pack! They won't get us this time” namjoon says as they look at each other with a promise of destruction to anyone who steps a wrong foot into the pack in their eyes. 

Jungkook's jaw snaps making him cry out as it shifts into a snout, soon his legs are bending as he falls on all fours  after another twenty minutes there in the middle sits a pretty white wolf instead of jungkook as he pants

Taehyung is mesmerised his heart hammers inside his chest as the others slowly surround them “o-open your eyes omega” taehyung croaks as the wolf obeys opening its eyes and then blinking 

Something inside taehyung breaks as the others let out a collective sigh of disappointment, not at jungkook  never at jungkook. 

The wolf recoils as if being slapped as it watches the disappointment across their faces, most of all taehyung's face turning unreadable, he looks down at itself only to see white fur “white!” It thinks “then why are they not happy to see me?” It thinks and then it clicks “there is no voice in his head calling out taehyung as his mate!” 

The wolf stands shakily trying to howl in sorrow but no matter how hard he tries he is unable to. As it stumble  his voice feels like its stuck!

Taehyung watches the omegas eyes. There's no colour, just plain grey eyes staring at them, no colour proving if jungkook is omega either, let alone his silver eyed mate. 

Taehyung hears the disappointed sighs as he watches jungkook realise Something wrong with him as he stands only to stumble  but what crushes him more is when he tries to reach out for the wolf jungkook whines hurt as he moves away from him as if burnt by his touch, as his friends keep talking about how they might have found the one.

“Silence!”  he roars  at his friends who immediately shut up and bare their necks at him. As he sighs standing up “go back home” he announces as he goes towards the omega only for jungkook to turn back and runaway way from him 

“Shit” taheyung curses as he shifts into his wolf and immediately chases behind him, trying to follow the omega’s scent luna knows where he ran off to! “For a wolf who just shifted he sure is a fast runner” he thinks 

His friends go back dejected about how they behaved, also feeling bad for the two wolves “let them be, we will amend things tomorrow” jin speaks as they leave.

After what seems like an hour of searching the alpha finds the omega curled up near  a river as he watches the moon shine, jungkook's ears snap towards the sound behind him but he doesn't move as he already knew it was the alpha.

Taehyung walks up to him as he slowly sits beside the omega as he turns to look at the moon and then jungkook 

“You're beautiful”  he speaks through the mind link startling the omega, jungkook doesn't say anything yet though and then “you can speak through the mind link even if i am still not initiated into your pack?” He asks as if testing

“It's one of the perks of being the golden eyed alpha”  he grumbles then after a few seconds of silence he adds “jungkook-ah am sorry” he says wistful “I dint mean to hurt you” he says 

Jungkook turns to look at him “were you disappointed? And tell me the honest truth” he says and taehyung even though dint  want to “I was” he speaks as jungkook sucks in a shuddering breath as he stays silent 

“Alpha, its okay.. but i need to tell you my truth too” he speaks but doesn't look at him “go on” he says as jungkook takes a deep breath “I like you.. alpha.. i really do” he says but before taehyung could speak he continues “and i know you dont.. because you're really waiting for your fated and thats okay, I just wanted to let it out and remember this feeling fondly without holding any bad memory taint it.”  He says softly 

“Jungkook-ah i-” taehyung sighs shaking his headas jungkook gently interrupts “it's really alright alpha, it's  a crush i will get over it, please don't take this to heart  i never wanted this to burden you” he speaks tearing up 

“Liar” his wolf calls out, jungkook ignores him 

Jungkook stands up “are there clothes kept behind the trees?” he questions “yes” the alpha answers not meeting his eyes.

They both shift behind the trees, jungkook with a bit of difficulty, as they step out from behind the trees jungkook gives taehyung a bow “thank you for all the help alpha” he says 

Taehyung wants to scream at him, to tell him to call him by his name again but all he does is just give him a stiff nod.

That night for the first time they both sleep with their backs facing each other jungkook stares at the wall as a tear slips down his eye his wolf whines 

“Am sorry”  it says “not your fault” he replies. On the other hand taehyung's wolf growls at him, pestering him to talk but the alpha doesn't know where to start so he just keeps mum until he explodes one day

The tension and awkwardness between them begin as early as the next morning, jungkook doesn't try to sleep and when sleep refuses to take him under, for a change he makes breakfast that morning and leaves to work immediately after he's done with his chores 

Taehyung wakes up to an empty bed, a note and breakfast 

“Alpha, I've already made breakfast, I am leaving a bit early to school. Have a good day”

Taehyung reads the note as he scoffs crinkling it in his hands. No school is open that early in the morning he thinks “whatever” he says as he unfolds the paper and puts it in his drawer, as he too leaves for work without touching the food.

Jungkook goes back to the place that they used to practise he still has a lot of time for school so he practises there for a bit.

And that is how taehyung's friends find him in his office “hyung! We are-” seokjin tries but is immediately cut off by him “it's alright, go back to work” he orders, they look at each other and already know something is wrong but dont press as they leave

Taehyung's eomma and appa look worriedly at Jungkook. They already know something must have happened. They've never seen the boy so gloomy with kids even if tries giving them all gentle smiles. When taehyung's friends arrive they learn the full truth. Well whatever happened between taehyung and jungkook is still a secret as no one except for the two know about it.

“Something more must have happened” jang-mi says making them all nod, when the group approaches jungkook he gives them small smile “hyungs” he says “jungkook we are sorry pup we dint mean to hurt you” jin speaks as they all ask for forgiveness  “hyungs i forgive you everything is fine” he smiles making them hesitantly nod. They don't ask anything about taehyung though as they think it might be a sore subject. 

At night jungkook waits for the alpha but as time passes by and its beyond one, jungkook gives up knowing the alpha would come home until late, so he goes to bed and just like he predicted the alpha comes home very late that night and every night from then on.

And this follows for weeks like a normal routine between both of them now, their circle notices too but jin and taehyung's father had strictly told all of them not to interfere in their life.

“But dongmin what if they end up snapping and hurting each other?” his eomma stresses “love we cannot interfere and isn't that how they learn? we need to let them sort out their issues” he speaks as they all quieten.

Ever since the shift and his wolf finally showing up jungkook still feels a void  in his chest, an empty space as though waiting for something to click.

So he finds himself every morning and evening near the cenote where they practised trying to get more in touch with the wolf in him, he shifts a few times just to take a small run from the cenote to the pack

One particular day he losses track of time and by the time he could get back taehyung shakes up the whole pack trying to find him but to no avail, his golden eyes turn furious as the time passes by, forgetting to check near the cenote.

By the time jungkook gets back its way too late. He steps inside the hut toeing off his shoes discreetly trying not to disturb taehyung when the Alpha's voice booms across the place “where the hell where you?” He shouts 

As jungkook jumps in fear his heart hammering as he turns to look at taehyung, his friends and his parents all staring at him worriedly 

“Taehyung! Dont” his father tries 

“Does he know what time it is?” The alpha shouts making jungkook gulp “a-am sorry alpha! I  lost track of time” he whispers looking down 

“Hyung, you're scaring him, please calm down!” hajoon intereferes 

“Hajoon!” Taehyung warns as jungkook quickly steps in between them. “It's my fault  I apologise! I won't do it again alpha” he says voice trembling

And that does it for taehyung “stop calling me that!” He shouts making everyone in the room flinch.

“I-what?” Jungkook stammers

“Look at you acting like you dont know” he seethes “stop calling me alpha! You were okay calling me hyung in the beginning? What happened now huh?” Taehyung glares at him 

As jungkook looks away he doesn't like the way the alpha is talking to him right now “y-you need to calm down, i-ll ta-” “dont cut me off” taehyung seethes

“Tell me what is it now? Did I hurt your feelings?” Jungkook's jaw clenches as he pokes his tongue to the side of his cheek. The others watch horrified, they've never seen taehyung loose his calm, at something as trivial as this! This must be something more than that they think 

“Tell me jungkook, did I hurt your feelings the day you shifted and confessed to me? Is that  it? Are you hurt that i dint reciprocate your feelings-” he gets cut off by jungkook stepping into his space as he glares at the alpha as the others wince 

Jungkook hates this, he hates how worse he feels, he feels himself tear up, he hates crying in front of everyone. 

He glares at the alpha “Dont!” he says lowly “dont you dare mock me for my feelings, how could you.. throw them back in my face” he says as his fist clench.

He lifts his chin up in defiance as he glares at the shocked alpha before him “I can proudly say that i like you and i whole heartedly accept it but you.. alpha, Hurt me the most today, even looking at you hurts” he says as he turns away from him and furiously wipes his tears 

Jungkook turns and immediately walks out from the house.

“What did you do?” Jimin questions as taehyung stands there like a statue still staring at the spot where jungkook stood looking absolutely devastated.

“What did you do? Why did you even bring that up?” He thinks to himself “am so disappointed in you head alpha” his eomma speaks as he looks at her.

“You fucked up big time” yoongi says as he walks out followed by jimin and his eomma. “You need to reflect on yourself pup” his appa says “but till then jungkook will stay with us” he says as taehyung looks up at him with wide eyes “no” he whispers “its final” his appa's voice rumbles making taheyung clench his jaw and turn back as the man walks out.

“You had no right to throw it in his face hyung! for now just give him time then take your sorry ass to him and beg for his forgiveness if you have to!" jin says as he drags namjoon out.

Hoseok and hajoon give him sympathetic glances “I don't know what happened but all i know is you already have the answers to all your questions. You just…. Refuse to accept it” hajoon says squeezing his shoulder as he walks away 

“Denial doesn't and has never suited you, just accept things the way it is hyung, everything will work out absolutely fine” hoseok hugs taehyung patting him on the back 

Taehyung flops down on the chair as he pulls at his hair “fucking moron” he grits groaning. Outside jungkook kneels as sobs wrack his body, jang-mi kneels before him as she gently hugs the boy “am sorry pup” she whispers “he's an idiot” she says wiping his tears dongmin kneels beside them “some alphas need to learn how to grovel” he says as jungkook looks up at him with puffy eyes 

Dongmin smiles at him “you're coming with us” he says as he stands pulling jungkook up with him  “let us poor parents get to experience some time with you” he smiles “but i-” jungkook tries knowing its fruitless “dongmin is right  let me get a chance to feed you some good food”

They take jungkook along with them as they get to their mansion but jungkook just dosent feel present as they show him around the huge house he just nods at whatever they say.the parents look at each other “Do you want something to eat pup?” Jang-mi asks as he shakes his head “I dont feel hungry eomma” he croaks, 

“Okay thats fine just know if you need anything am in the room just right below yours, all you have to do is knock” she says and jungkook nods “let me take you to the room” she whispers guiding jungkook to his current stay 

As soon as she opens the room he already knows whose it is as he takes in a lungful of the almost fading scent of forest, he says his good nights to them slowly shutting the door behind him as he walks further into the room.

The room screams Taehyung from the wadrobe to the warm toned paint, selfmade paintings and photographs hung here and there to the vinyls sitting on the desk.

Jungkook observes everything admiring the beauty, he sits on the soft bed which has taehyung's scent the most “he must scent it every now and then for his parents" jungkook's wolf speaks as the omega hums in return

He spots a photo placed on the desk of the alpha next to the bed, he reaches out to hold it, taking it in his hands the omega admires it watching the boxy smile on the alpha's face 

“you are right in wiating for them, but you dint have to be so mean about it” he whispers as fat tears fall on top of the framed photograph.

Jungkook lays down on the bed tired and lost “now what?” He thinks “if i keep staying here it’s going to be a problem, there's going to be unnecessary tension and awkwardness that's going to want everyone i hold close to me to pick sides and i cant let that happen” he sniffles 

“Moon goddess what do i do?  He thinks to himself. 

“If i hide myself i cant just expect everything  to be alright and what's worst is i cant even go anywhere without bumping into him”  he sighs turning around to face the ceiling 

“Out of everyone you jeon jungkook had to go fall for The Kim Taehyung?” he lets out a breath 

That night sleep dosen't come easy for either of them, jungkook only falls asleep in the early hours of morning where as taehyung sufferers from nightmares.

Taehyung dreams of paws running everywhere as rogue wolves chase them amidst a huge fire, as he stands there and watch people die, helplesss

He sees jungkook in the distance as he tries to run towards him, telling him to run but his legs refuse to move, he tries screaming but when he opens his mouth there's no sound coming out of his mouth.

He watches in horror as jungkook coughs blood as someone stabs him. Tears roll down his face as the unknown man whose face is blurry laughs at him 

Taehyung tries to shift, but his wolf is dormant, he looks around for help from someone and thats when he spots two pairs of eyes one golden and one silver looking intently at him.

“Save them this time” they whisper in unison as the silver eyes vanish but the pair of golden eyes stay back.

Those eyes soften after they observe him for a while “he will awake, give him the love he deserves and he will awake. Now wake up!” He says as everything before taehyung vanishes even jungkook.

He tries to shout one more time and this time he successfully does “Jungkook!” He shouts at the same time he springs up from his bed eyes wide as he looks around.

“Just a dream" he thinks wiping his face as everything from yesterday rushes back to him. He knows its of no use trying to go back to sleep thats why he forgoes it for shower and pack rounds.

On his rounds and a lot of thinking later he settles on trying to make ammend, he buys some banana bread and curates a flower bouquet himself.

He places it on his family poarch and is about to walk away slowly whe  the door opens and there stands his appa as he observes him “you think this will ease the pain you caused?” He questions as taehyung turns to him 

“No and i am not here for immediate forgiveness either, knowing jungkookie he might forgive me but i want to be able to earn it,” he says giving him a bow and walks away. Dongmin sighs taking the cake and flowers inside Jang-mi takes one look at it and knows its from her foolish boy.

She takes it and places the cake and bouquet on the table for jungkook “stupid boy” she mutters.

Jungkook finds the flowers and the cake on the sofa as he looks at the couple who nod at him, he ignores it as Jang-mi offers him breakfast which he eats with leisure complementing he cooking.

As it's a sunday, he attends to the gardens with dongmin helping him plant a few seeds and water a few plants.

He's halfway up when he stops as he sighs heavily as he walks back down takes the flowers and the cake with him and glares at it  “i-iam not forgiving you” he says almost tearing up in the process as he stomps back to his room and angrily places them on the desk “stupid! Stupid! Alpha” he glares at the photo.

As he falls backwards on the bed, and resumes staring at the ceiling again.
