The rules were simple, really.
A simple game of russian roulette. 5 turns. If Chance dies, Mafioso gets to take his prize back and never has to deal with Chance’s ridiculous debt again. If Chance lives, they get to kiss Mafioso.
I think you can guess which option Chance made up.-
The game was just between Chance and Mafioso, each bringing their own revolver. Of course, Mafioso rigged it. Chance knew he did, it was pretty obvious with the way he just brought his own gun, as if it was no different than normal russian roulette. And when he checked Chance’s gun to make sure it was set up correctly. 5 empty, 1 bullet. He didn’t check his own.
However, Chance wasn’t one to back down. Because he brought his own gun, and didn’t rig it, that meant that there was still a chance. And what was his name for if he didn’t gamble life to the edge?
After all, nothing in the rules stated that Mafioso had to live or die.
They both sat in the dark alley, somewhere near Chance’s home, for Mafioso’s own personal easy access to their home if they lost, but secluded enough where a random civilian wouldn’t find them.
An old wood table sat against the wall at the very end, creaking slightly at any weight pressed down on it. 2 similar wooden chairs sat on either side, having Chance and Mafioso seated face-to-face.
Chance slightly wondered if Mafioso set this up, too, but they didn’t bother with it too much.
“Are you ready, gambla’?” Mafioso asked, already spinning and cocking his gun without waiting for Chance’s answer.
But they both knew what his answer would be anyway.
“Bring it on, I’ll be tasting those lips before you know it.” They smirked, attempting to flirt despite the situation.
But hey, if their own prize for winning this was a kiss, then was it really unnecessary flirting?
Click.
Mafioso’s gun fired a blank. Of course it did.
He set the gun down on the table, making it creak quietly, and resting his hand on the edge. He looked at Chance, almost looking through him. It was his turn now.
Chance leaned back in his chair, another creek echoing through the quiet space.
They spun the barrel, mentally hyping themselves up. This was really a gamble for sure. Either death, or a kiss.
The thrill made his heart race almost as much as it did at the thought of kissing the mafia boss.
They smacked the barrel in place, before cocking the gun. Each noise sounded louder than it should’ve. Besides for -if you listened really carefully- the faint sound of rain outside the alleyway and both of their breathing, it was dead silent.
Chance held the gun up to his temple, keeping his usual smirk plastered on the whole time, and pulled the trigger.
Click.
Mafioso scoffed, half annoyed, half impressed by the idiot’s luck.
“Beginners luck, eh?”
Chance’s smirk widened.
“Well what can I say? I’m a pro gambler after all.”
They set their gun down on the table, keeping their body relaxed back in their chair.
Mafioso cocked his gun, held it up to his head, and pulled.
Click.
Chance lifted his hand up, before cocking the gun.
The cold metal at the tip pressed against their skin.
Click.
Chance almost chuckled, laying their hand back down on the rickety table. They were feeling even cockier with each blank fire. But, they also knew they shouldn’t get too cocky just yet. There were still 3 more turns left, it would be humiliating if they died right after bragging.
Mafioso cocked his gun again, and held it up.
Chance watched, noticing how the man’s face remained the same the whole time. I mean, yeah, Chance himself has what he thinks is a pretty good poker face, but Mafioso was just full on expressionless .
Click.
Mafioso set the gun back down without a comment. He didn’t need to make one. It was Chance’s turn now anyway.
He picked his gun back up, cocking it.
Just to spice it up a bit, they aimed the gun under their chin, tilting their head up slightly and keeping eye contact -maybe, it was hard to tell- with Mafioso.
Mafioso didn’t falter. Sometimes, he couldn’t even tell if the idiot was trying to flirt or just act cocky.
Click.
“What did you say about beginners' luck, hm?” Chance mused, laying the revolver on the table again.
Mafioso scoffed again.
“Don’t get too ahead of yourself, gambla’.” He said back, picking up his own gun.
Chance guessed he was right. Still 2 more turns left.
Mafioso cocked his gun, silently thinking. Since pressure obviously didn’t get under Chance’s skin, then maybe something else would…
I mean, Mafioso wasn’t exactly opposed to the idea of making them a little flustered.
He refocused his gaze on Chance, seeing the other man still watching him. Perfect.
Chance watched Mafioso’s usual rhythm. Lifting the gun up, pressing it against his head- wait what.
The gambler watched as the mafia man opened his mouth , resting the tip of the gun inside. His sharp teeth were revealed a little, tongue pressing up against the metal.
What.
Chance admittedly felt his face heat up at the scene. Dammit , they couldn’t stop staring.
And Mafioso could tell.
A smirk just barely pulled at the edge of his lips, or maybe Chance was just delusional.
Click.
Mafioso pulled the gun out, a faint trail of saliva connecting from his tongue to the mussel.
God, Chance was both staring hard, and hard, period. They could not wait to win this little bet. To pull Mafioso in close by his tie, smash their lips into his, have saliva connecting his mouth to them .
They almost even forgot they were still playing the game.
Chance quickly cleared his throat, mouth feeling dry, cocking his gun. Mafioso let a smirk take over his expression, watching him fumble ever so slightly, movements stuttering instead of being fluid like usual.
“What’s wrong, ya’ losing ya’ focus?” He asked, voice low and even teasing.
Chance scoffed, placing a smirk back on their face. They held the gun up to their head again, looking at the man across from him.
“As if.”
Click.
One more turn.
One more turn until Chance can finally kiss the mafia man.
Or until he dies.
Mafioso slowly lifted up his gun yet again. Gloved fingers held the metal firmly, mind quickly deciding whether he wanted to mess with Chance’s mind again or play it normally.
He wouldn’t mind seeing the gambler blush again.
Chance realized he was in for another moment when he saw Mafioso raising the gun closer to his mouth than his temple.
What they didn’t expect, however, was for the other to take the seductive meter up a notch.
Mafioso opened his mouth again, revolver inches away. He stuck his tongue out, just enough, and gently licked the mussel. He let the wet muscle curve around the shape of the weapon, before sliding it into his mouth again. Staring down Chance the entire time.
If they were hard before, then they were unbreakable now.
Chance felt their throat go dry again -although it didn’t exactly get wet since the last turn. They fidgeted with the gun in their own hands slightly, feeling impatient to just win this dumb game and kiss him already.
Click.
Mafioso’s gun didn’t fire. Obviously it didn’t. But Mafioso let out a small chuckle like he just won, anyway, pulling the gun back out almost too slowly.
Shit, Chance was fucked no matter what happened next.
He slowly picked his gun back up, the material feeling even heavier and colder. The table creaked at the shift in weight again, the gambler slowly lifting the gun up. His heart was racing for multiple reasons.
First of all, the gamble. A 50/50 chance. 50% chance they get shot right now. Mafioso takes their -fairly won by the way- prize, and probably the rest of their money, too.
Or, another blank fires. And they get to kiss Mafioso on the mouth.
Hands shaking slightly from the pounding of their heart, Chance decided to copy Mafioso’s move a little. Hey, either they’re going to die or make out with him anyway, might as well flirt a little.
Chance kissed the front of the gun, before moving it to rest under his chin.
“This is going to be your lips soon.” He hummed, giving Mafioso a wink from under his sunglasses.
Gun placed firmly against his jaw, Chance held their breath for a second, and pulled the trigger.
Click.
Mafioso almost couldn’t believe it, but he was even more so impressed.
Guess that idiot’s luck just never runs out, huh?
But, he wasn’t entirely shocked. After all, he had a feeling deep down that Chance was going to win anyway.
Mafioso was broken out of his thoughts by the sound of Chance’s gun getting practically thrown on the table. Guess all the teasing actually did do something.
Chance did not want to wait another second. He stood up quickly, watching as Mafioso took his sweet ol’ time setting his gun down with a quiet clack!
He then also stood up, hovering about a foot over the other man.
“Guess you won, hm?” He asked, purposefully dragging out what Chance was so desperately wanting now.
Mafioso leaned down slightly, firmly yet gently lifting up Chance’s chin.
Chance flushed even more, heart stuttering. Damn, this was almost even better than adrenaline.
“Yep, won fair and square! Can I get my prize now?” They repeated, trying to maintain a cocky attitude.
However, every second felt like it was getting dragged out to an hour. They had already spent the past like 5 minutes watching Mafioso tongue a gun, they did not have any patience left for whatever game he was trying to play now.
Gloved fingers felt so warm against his chin, a very big contrast to the feeling of the gun under his jaw earlier. Chance was glad he was wearing sunglasses at this moment, because he was staring down Mafioso’s lips like they were his favorite food.
After tonight, they just might be.
Mafioso could see right through them. Literally. With not much sunlight to reflect off the lenses, bright gold eyes didn’t hide very well.
His lips turned into a small smirk again, leaning in a little closer. He could hear Chance’s breath get caught, before returning heavier.
“Someone’s impatient, eh?” He teased again.
Chance was so close to kissing that damn smirk off his face already. His tie was relatively close to their hand…
Mafioso was busy watching Chance’s eyes scan his lips, until he suddenly felt something pull him forwards.
Chance’s hand was holding firmly on his tie, holding his face just inches away from theirs.
And Mafioso actually felt his heart skip a beat. But he didn’t entirely hate it.
Oh, so he’s stupid and bold..
“I’m not the one who just mouth-fucked a gun.” Chance shot back, not being able to help himself from looking at those pretty lips again.
They swore they also saw a faint red tint to Mafioso’s face. Their breath got heavier. Actually, the whole atmosphere got heavier. It’s been heavy ever since they first suggested the kissing prize.
“So that’s the only thing you got out of that whole game?” Mafioso’s smirk was more apparent now. He was actually enjoying this.
He pulled Chance’s face slightly closer, causing the other to hold his tie firmer in response.
The air was tense. Breaths hitting each other, noses almost touching. Alleyway still dead silent, breathing echoing in the dark space.
Chance was about to go insane.
“ God… Can I just have my prize already?” Chance asked, almost breathless.
Mafioso wet his lips, purposefully showing off a bit of his teeth.
“You may.”
And with that, Mafioso leaned in even more, and gently pressed his lips against theirs.
Chance immediately melted, heart racing, skin heating up. He pulled Mafioso even closer, deepening the kiss.
The feeling of his tie getting pulled on again, trying to get him even closer despite not having any real physical room, was making Mafioso’s own stomach flip.
He moved a hand to the back of Chance’s head, holding him close. After what only felt like a second, Chance finally needed to break away for air.
Mafioso felt those sweet lips leave his, and almost automatically chased the warmth. He leaned forwards while Chance leaned back, craving another kiss already.
Chance’s mind went even fuzzier when they noticed what was happening, and quickly took in a deep breath before giving in again.
Mafioso let out a heavy breath, using his free hand to put on Chance’s waist, and pull him even closer.
Chance felt Mafioso’s mouth open slightly, and decided to invite themself in, sliding their tongue past his lips.
Mafioso tensed up for a split second, before relaxing again before Chance could change their mind. He felt their tongue graze his teeth, the feeling driving them both even crazier.
Then, Mafioso bit down gently. Chance’s knees almost buckled.
He moaned softly, trying to somehow get even more of the man in front of him.
But then, Mafioso pulled away, teeth still gently grazing Chance’s tongue.
And just like Chance had daydreamed, a string of saliva left their mouths connected for another second, before -sadly- breaking.
Both were breathing heavily, Chance feeling more flustered than Mafioso -or at least showing it more-.
After taking a minute to catch their breaths, and resist the urge to start kissing again, Mafioso finally spoke up.
“I still want my prize back.”
Of course.
Chance chuckled, plastering on their usual smirk.
“Hah! Over my dead body.”
