Chapter Text
Leland had been doing some snooping around lately.
Just, observing.
Often, he’d find himself wondering the streets of Manhattan, only to end up at the foot of that wretched church.
Did he love his job? Of course, but did he wish his life was different?
Only at night.
He turned to walk back to his apartment, but before he could take another step, he heard something. Something that stopped him in his tracks.
A voice?
“Hi Jake.”
Behind him, the voice came. A familiar voice, one he’d only heard in his dreams.
Surely there was no way that she was here now, at a time when he was struggling to uphold his demonic career, now? Why did she have to see him like this.
“I thought you named me Leland?” He turned around.
Her hair was jet black, her eyes covered by blue-tinted glasses. She stood with her hands in the pockets of her coat, and despite him being unable to see her eyes, he knew she was staring into his soul.
“I know,” she stepped towards him, “but I never fucked Leland.”
Now it made sense.
“I’ll meet you back at your place, our usual time.” She slinked past him, her coat making her glide through the frigid air. Her eyes bore into him for only a brief moment before she disappeared.
He started walking home.
---
His regular nighttime routine consisted of dinner, dateline tv, and the usual toiletries before crawling into bed. Tonight, another one would be added on.
Lucifer.
Or, as he’d overheard someone call her, ‘Luci’.
Perhaps to fit in more with humans while she was up here, doing God knows what.
Though he was used to her by now, it had been so long, almost since his last marriage ended, that he’d last seen her. She’d gone off to Russia, meddling with the minds of the powerful, or at least that’s what she told him.
He knew exactly when she’d get there, now he just had to lay in bed and wait.
But of course, in the process of waiting, he fell asleep.
---
His eyes flashed open, scanning the room.
The door had creaked open, but no one was standing in the doorway.
He turned to the clock on his bedside…
3:00 am
When he turned back to face the door, a silhouette draped in light stood with no shadow.
He sat up, trying to anticipate what she would want – it had been so long, naybe her taste had changed?
“Jake.” It felt like a whisper, but its strength carried itself for what felt like miles.
“Lucifer.” As it came out of his mouth, it felt more like a question.
She stepped inside, closing the door behind her. She glided across the floor to a chair in the corner of the room, taking a seat.
“Did you miss me?” She grinned as she undid the first few buttons of her shirt.
“Did you?” He replied, trying to keep himself from losing his mind. The memories of what they had done together previously was blaring in the back of his mind.
“Oh,” she responded, “I did.”
His cock could’ve sprung out right then and there, but he tried to quiet his mind instead. The last time he was too hasty, he didn’t think she’d enjoyed it. The challenge of keeping it down without being obvious was scrutiny, and so was her gaze.
“What are you thinking about?” She filled the silence, while slyly tugging her collar to reveal slightly more breast than before.
“What do you want to know?” He shyly responded, still desperately trying to stay in the moment.
“Everything.”
“Well- I, um,” a wave of heat crushed him, he felt like he was going to sweat to death from embarrassment, “Just, the last time you were here.”
“Jake.”
“Yes?”
“Touch yourself.”
The permission, though her judgement was daunting, was relieving.
Desperately trying to be slow, he reached down under his pants. He couldn’t help but look away from her, keeping eye-contact now was hopeless.
She got pushed herself out of the chair, leaving her glasses, and strayed closer, eventually sitting next to him.
She rested her right hand on his shoulder, and whispered:
“You are so desperate, aren’t you?”
Only then, did he notice how fast he was going.
“A bit pathetic, isn’t it?” she continued, face creeping closer toward his.
He consciously tried to slow down, but with her face, now unrestricted by her glasses, her bright red eyes inches from him, just sent him back to before – all the way to when they first met.
She grabbed his face, knowing what that glazed-over look meant.
“Jake,” she whispered, “Do you deserve this?”
He was speechless, not from her question, but from fear of making too much noise. And it was because of that question, the same old thoughts came creeping back into his head: I don’t deserve this, why would she pick me? Why would anyone? I am pathetic, is that why? Because I’m pathetic? Because that way, she can just tell me to do whatever she wants? Probably.
It didn’t stop him for jerking off though.
I am such a pushover.
“Jake,” she whispered close to his mouth, “pay attention. You don’t want to disappoint me now, do you?” A smug grin drew itself over her face.
“No.” He barely whispered it, unable to manage anything else.
“Then finish.”
And there it is.
Leland had been so close the entire time, barely holding on for the sake of not embarrassing himself further, but now, the permission was freeing.
The pressure building, her leaning on his shoulder, her whispering, it all built up. And, of course, being almost humiliated like this was more than enough.
And with her big red eyes staring into him, and in that moment, nothing else mattered but making her happy. And nothing would make her happier than this right now, except maybe killing and eating someone…
And so, he did what she asked.
He tried, and failed, to keep himself quiet, but he ended up just whining like he was in pain – now that… that turned her on.
