Another quest complete with them barely making it out alive.
And dear fucking god it was just a giant toad.
Kazuma expected more than this. His love life was progressing well, sure, but what he wanted most was to actually feel like an isekai character with a reputation that no other hero in history can match!
Even when he finally got the chance to go through trials in the crimson demion village. Some fuckass machine HAD to have it out for him and he couldn't even beat the thing in a head on confrontation. It's embarrassing really.
And he was supposed to somehow beat the demon king!
Kazuma was currently seated in the corner of the guild taking sips from the drink he always bought. He looked around at his party members.
A wild crusader can be seen arm wrestling with other adventurers and getting disappointed when she won...
A certain Arch Wizard can be seen having a duel with her best friend, rival, girl crush
whatever you wanna call her
And the debt collecting machine with an ego is already getting drunk, showing off all the party tricks she learned over the years...
THIS was the party that was supposed to beat the demon king?
Is that supposed to be a joke?
I won't say it out loud but even Mitsurugi's party can do a better job than us.
Me, an adventurer that still hasn't reached my max level despite being the easiest class to level up
Darkness, a crusader who can't hit her attacks and doesn't wanna hit her attacks
Aqua, an arch priest that can't focus for 2 minutes before getting bored and fucking everything up
Megumin, an arch wizard that can use her spell only once a day and turn into luggage
But I'll give it to Megumin that she's somewhat useful.

As he was lost in thought Serena spots him and gives him a gentle smile before walking over.
"Kazuma-sama may I request a private conversation with you?"
He didn't know what she wanted to do with him but it was obvious she didn't have any intentions of attacking him so he followed her down an alleyway that no one goes through
"So?"
"You seem to be quite troubled"
"Whatever could that mean?"
"Well, you seemed to be seriously pondering about something, could it be my proposal to join the demon king's army?"
"Not at a-"
Just then, a thought occurred to me. One that would never even cross my mind.
The people of this town have given me nothing but hardships
I suffered countless ridicule and slander.
Had to pay back crushing amounts of debt.
And even now, after all my accomplishments, i still get called a trash and scum. A weakling.
But the demon king's army wants me on their side. They're sending out their own general here just to propose that offer to me

Unlike this so called beginner's town that have given me nothing but hardships
"Hmm? Looks like you're finally coming around"
I turned to look at her and saw her smirking as she probably guessed what was going on inside my head.
"I- I accept your proposal, I'll join the demon king's army"
Serena's smirk only widened.
"Very well, hero. You shall enter as my right hand man and make it up from there, sound good?"
"Yes"
I know I'm betraying humanity.
Betraying the gods that sent me here to vanquish the demon king.
Betraying my friends who have faith in me.
Betraying Megumin, whom I'm desperately in love with.
But.
I need this.
I don't know what has come over me but i NEED this.
"So, now that my main objective has been completed much earlier than I thought. We should still have some time before the demon king's army raids the capital and Axel. What say we go to the demon king's castle and inform him that you have joined our side"
"Yes, but first. I need to let my party members know I'm leaving so they don't start a fuss and start a search for me"
"Sounds good, I'll be waiting at the gates of Axel. Come when you are ready."
Kazuma nodded as Serena left.
He stood there for a few seconds before walking over to his mansion.
Once arriving at his mansion, he packed everything that might seem useful into his bag. Dynamites, the rope he commissioned and all his money.
He walked out of his room to the kitchen and left the note containing his leaving of the party...
This reminds him of some unpleasant times indeed.
He left the mansion and met up with Serena who casted teleport to get them to the demon king's castle.
Sorry, everyone. I just can't tolerate my current life anymore.
