someone took koichi's shoes

Summary:

“Oh, um… Someone took my shoes.” Koichi headed to the door outside to avoid looking at Josuke, getting his umbrella ready, but was smoothly cut off by a wall of purple. “Really? Assholes,” Josuke muttered, his jaw jutting out as he wrinkled his face in annoyance.

Notes:

hey!! this is my first work in the jojo fandom and hopefully not my last... this is just a short thing to try and get a handle on koichi and josuke's personalities as well as give me an excuse to write fluff for a ship that's like, nearly nonexistent... c'mon guys you all saw the hug and "that's what i have you for" in the surface episode. you saw it.

anyway! small thing i spat out in an hour. hope you enjoy!

Work Text:

Koichi looked on forlornly at his cubby hole. His shoes, stolen, again. Who was even doing this? Why? Nobody he knew would even fit his size except for some of the girls. He sighed and started putting on his uwabaki again. Having to buy another pair was definitely better than walking home in socks, even if he had to buy a new pair on top of new shoes. It was raining, too, and all muddy… And he’d have to tell his mom what happened. Today had been going so good, too.

“Yo, Koichi, what's taking you so long?” Josuke’s face popped up around a line of cubby holes. Oh, this hadn't happened since he met Josuke… Koichi blushed a little. What an embarrassing thing to have to admit.

“Take your uwabaki off again, though.”

“Um, ok, sure.” Koichi trotted back to his spot and took them off. “I don’t think you can ‘fix’ this, there’s nothing left from them.”

Josuke easily plucked them from his hand and shoved them back on the shelf with a surprised ‘hey!’ from Koichi. “Nah, nothing like that,” he said with a grin flashed at Koichi then he crouched down a bit. “I’ll just carry you.”

Koichi stared at him. “Like, a piggy back ride?”

Josuke nodded, looking eager. “This way you don’t get your uwabaki all dirty but you still get home. It's really muddy out there!” Josuke wiggled his eyebrows, trying to be convincing. Koichi didn't think he had much of a choice, since Josuke already had his mind made up. He already knew arguing with him past that point was useless.

“Um… Alright. Fine. You know the way to my house, right?” Koichi climbed onto Josuke’s back, feeling a bit silly as Josuke’s arms wrapped around his legs and stood. “Yeah, of course I know the way to your house. We’ve walked together like, a billion times.” Usually Okuyasu would be with them but he had detention. Kind of weird to have detention while you’re saving the world- or at least, Morioh.

“Oh! Just wait.” Koichi leaned and grabbed his umbrella then straightened up. “Don’t hit me with that!” Josuke jostled around a bit, resulting in a squawk from Koichi and two arms being thrown around his neck, which of course meant Koichi smacked him in the face with the closed umbrella. “Ow!”

“Ah! Sorry!” Koichi adjusted the umbrella and Josuke headed outside.

“Well, since you gave me a bruise with it, you may as well open it,” Josuke commented, glancing over his shoulder a bit. Koichi nodded and, carefully keeping one arm around Josuke’s neck, opened the umbrella. They were close enough that they both fit under, and Koichi rested the umbrella-holding arm over Josuke’s shoulder.

“Huh. This is convenient. We should do it every time it rains! Portable heater and an umbrella that holds itself,” Josuke grinned, walking off the school campus and in the direction of Koichi’s house.

“Well, you’re still holding me. Don’t you think it would be easier to just use your own umbrella? People might think weird things if you’re giving me a piggyback ride all the time, too,” Koichi replied, adjusting a bit in Josuke’s grip to get more comfortable, he walked with a wide stance.

“Ahh, whatever. Who cares what they think? I’d give you a piggyback whenever, you’re small and cute. It’s like I’m not even carrying anything.” Josuke’s grin got even wider and he laughed. Koichi was glad Josuke was looking forward as he felt his face redden.
