Light’s elegy

Summary:

The life of princess Zelda, told in poem, and seen in loss
(Sequel to “final moments of a knight”)

Notes:

(See the end of the work for notes.)

Work Text:

Light had been born only to see her mother
Eyes filled with wisdom, yet a voice made of lace
In her arms she held Hope’s path to pave

Herein laid the issue, griefs only buffer
And though a heart may brace
Death is no matter that one can stave

Sequestered by a kingdoms suffer
On display, she took her place
For no longer was there a hand to waive

Nowhere to hide, the light her cuffer
Forced to be shown, alone in her case
A beacon, a virtue, something to crave

And though the years grew rougher
There was a reoccurring face
And from him to her, a light he gave

Yet behind all light there lies a cover
A darkness that made all hearts race
But through it all, he was brave.

Even so, here she waits, Light with no lover
Where she stumbled, he fell with grace
And now she waits, staring at his grave

Notes:

This poem is called an elegy, or the poetic form of a eulogy.
I had a lot of fun writing this one, so hope you enjoy!
Kudos from the creek once again <3
