Work Text:

Bustar Terminax had a pretty nasty family.

Being raised by a warlord to become a killing machine alongside a bunch of other children he'd kidnapped, experimented on, and practically raised to be supervillains would do that to a person. Luckily, two of my brothers were currently in a prison that would (hopefully) turn them into better people.

Walking into the building, I was surprised to see someone I recognized that wasn't my brother. She looked about fifteen, had floating purple goopy hair, and her smooth tan skin was splotched with dark grey goop. Sure she was a little different, but it was obviously that traitorous little overseer, Fear Herself of whatever she was called.

Although, she was here, so maybe she wasn't as bad as before.

She noticed me, her face transfiguring into shock, then fear, before smoothing over and looking away, trying not to draw the attention of her companion. That didn't work, as she immediately noticed me. She turned to wave, but Fear caught her arm and whispered something. The other girl said something back, but I couldn't hear what either said.

As she approached, and I noticed she had an hourglass shaped gem in her chest. She stuck out her hand to shake mine, a cheerful smile across her face. "Hey! My name's Vivianne, and I'm one of the agents here at the Redemption Arc Support Foundation, also known as the RAS. One of my patients, Arava, said she remembered you, and that she had done some things to you that needed to be answered for. Are you here for her or for somebody else?"

I shrugged. "All she did was go back on her word about killing the cute little beasties that we were fighting, and she and her friend or whatever took the bounty for the Xenoforge. I'm here to visit my brothers, and make sure that this place is good enough to keep em' locked up. I don't need Overkill escaping another flarging prison." She nodded. "If you want, I can take you on the tour of the facility and show you some of out security measures. I can't show you everything," "Obviously" "-and I can introduce you to the head of security before showing you to your brothers' cells, but if any of them are as bad as you say, I don't know if they've been here long enough to be accepting visitors." I nodded, and before she left, she went to go check in with "Arava". "Just wait here okay? We don't know when Mara will show up, but I don't want you to miss her if the tour takes too long. I'll be back as quick as I can, okay?" Arava nodded, still glancing at me occasionally out of the corner of her eyes.

The tour was very interesting. I was pretty impressed by the security measures put in place, and by Ares, head of security. She asked me a little more about my history with Arava, and clarified by "cute little beasties" I actually meant Xenomorphs.

Overkill wasn't far enough in his redemption for me to visit, which made sense, but when I looked through the window of his door, the smile he gave me looked slightly less insane. Harold was one of the first residents at the foundation, Viv told me, and he was doing remarkably well, considering I knew firsthand what kind of monster he was.

When we returned, Arava was speaking to a person I presumed was Mara, based off Arava's apparent comfort talking to her. I only caught the back end of their conversation, "If it wasn't for your curse, I wouldn't be the person I am today, so it's not all bad." "Still, doesn't change the fact that I cursed you and drove a wedge between you and all of your old friends. I didn't even tell you anything about it. Also, you can't try and find a silver lining to everything I've done. There is literally no upside to letting Dresden put Kate; and making him put Jake and Ana in Backcells." "Hey Mara!" Viv said as we approached. "Hey Viv." Mara replied quietly. "Sorry I wasn't here earlier. I was giving Bustar a tour of the facility. Have you met him?" Mara shook her head. "Okay then, Mara, this is Bustar Terminax. Bustar, this is Coșmara Noroi." "Nice to meet you Coșmara," I said.

Upon hearing my voice, Mara perked up, "I think I remember one of my friends, Benny, mentioning you. He said that, in his own words, "Silly is real upset cuz' some Heath soundalike named Bustar rejected her." I paused, "Silly, as in Vasillia Kuznet?" Mara nodded. I was a little ticked off at the mention of that ridiculous woman, but pushed pass it.

Mara turned to look at Viv. "Hey, since I'm here, I wanted to let you know that some of the stronger demons are breaking free of Psychoperdilict's control and waking up. Viv and Mara talked back and forth for a few minutes before Viv turned to Arava and asked, what do you think? You made them, after all." Arava tensed for a moment before turning to me. "How do you feel about becoming a demon hunter?
