Chapter Text
Per and Tar had been dating since the start of the new term—ish. After Tar had chased him down the field like some lunatic and then sat down with him to eat ice pops, the two had gotten closer than ever.
Per wasn’t really sure how it happened either.
One day, he just woke up with Tar in his arms, scooting closer to him, and it just felt right. Nobody dared to move even after the two of them had woken up. There, in the silence, the truth that they were more than just friends rang louder than Tar’s stupid alarm.
“Will you turn that off?” Per remembered complaining. “How? I’m literally being crushed here,” Tar mumbled from under Per’s chin.
Tar wasn’t really complaining then. In fact, he snuggled closer for warmth until he settled just above where Per’s heart was.
“Why is it so fast?”
“What?”
Tar lifted his head to look at Per, eyes still sleepy. “Your heart. It’s beating too fast.”
It was still early, and the sun had just cast enough light to make Tar’s face look softer than it already was. A blush crept onto Per’s face as he guided Tar back to his beating heart.
“It always does that when I’m around you. It’s annoying.”
Tar laughed, all soft and sleepy—and if Per’s heart had stopped beating right then and there, at least Tar was the one to hear its last beat.
