Chapter Text
Seungmin always noticed that the other members all seemed so…close with each other. Closer than they all were with him. Felix always gave Minho a shoulder rub after practice. Hyunjin liked to lay on the sofa in the living room with his head in Jeongin’s lap, and Jeongin, who always seemed to hate any skinship from Seungmin, never seemed to mind. And Chan, Changbin, and Jisung always spent so much time together. Not just in the studio, but they also like to go to the gym and go out to eat together.
Their closeness and affection for each other that they didn't seem to extend to Seungmin made the young vocalist feel a little left out. Could it be that they don't like him? Maybe Seungmin poked fun at the others a little, but they have to know he's joking, right? And if it did bother them, they would tell him, wouldn't they?
In a meeting detailing the logistics of this summer's tour, the group discussed the hotel room arrangements. Each stop would have 4 rooms with the group being split into pairs. The group insisted on rotating hotel roommates for this tour and Seungmin couldn't understand why until a crushing thought crossed his mind: Are they trying to avoid having one member stuck with him for the whole tour? Does everyone hate the idea of sharing a room with him that much?
The first stop of the tour after the dates in Seoul was Singapore. The group stepped out of the airport and were immediately hit with the heavy humidity of the near equatorial island. They loaded into the van waiting for them and shut out the sound of screaming fans by quickly closing the door behind them.
Chan turned to the group from the front seat. “Okay, so here's how the rooms are gonna go: room 1 is me and Changbin, room 2 is Minho and Hyunjin, room 3 is Jisung and Seungmin, and room 4 is Yongbok and Jeongin. Everyone got it?”
The chorus of boys respond with a “got it” before going into quiet conversation. Seungmin looks to Jisung, who looks silently out the window, earbuds blocking out the world as he fought off his tiredness from the stressful travel day. A part of Seungmin can't help but think that Jisung doesn't look happy to share a room with him. He's always excited to room with Minho or Felix.
The group reaches the hotel and everyone splits into pairs. Jisung tapped the keycard in his hand against the lock, a click signaling Jisung to open the door.
The hotel room was spacious and luxurious, an upgrade from the rooms that the members stayed in during the last tour. The entryway led into a spacious living area furnished with a sofa and a massive TV. A door led into an impeccably clean bathroom with a glass-doored shower and marble countertops.
There is only one glaringly obvious problem with the room: the single king-sized bed by the floor-to-ceiling windows looking out into the city’s night sky.
“You're kidding,” Seungmin muttered, trying to mirror the disappointment he thought Jisung would feel. It was a defensive thing, pretending he didn't want to be as close to his members as he did. He figured that if he pretended to accept his place as the group outcast, maybe some day he'd actually learn to be content with it. “It's fine,” he sighs. “I’ll sleep on the couch.”
“Why?” Jisung furrows his brow, dropping his suitcase at the corner of the room. “There's more than enough room for both of us.” He jumps back on the bed, the soft, plush bedding catching him.
Seungmin pauses, trying to analyze Jisung’s body language and expression. The attempted read only led to more frustration, as Jisung seemed like he really didn't mind.
The vocalist just nodded, following in suit and dropping back on the bed.
“It's kinda like our first tour, right?” The ace hummed. “When we all had to share two beds in one room?”
Seungmin laughs at the memory. “I remember.”
“Hyunjinnie wouldn't stay still. He kept rolling on top of me.” Jisung emphasizes his statement by rolling back on top of Seungmin, earning a loud laugh from his dongsaeng.
“Ya! Get off!” Seungmin yells, pushing Jisung off.
“Ah, sorry,” the elder chuckles. “Wait, my phone’s on the other side.” He rolls back on top of Seungmin, his chest pressed against the other's as he pretends to reach for his phone.
“Hyung!” Seungmin laughs. “I can't breathe!”
“What?” Jisung furrows his brow in mock offense. “Are you calling me fat?”
“Yeah,” Seungmin grins, giggling breathlessly as he pushed at his hyung’s shoulders.
Their faces were so close to each other, close enough for Seungmin to feel Jisung’s warm breath on his face. It warmed his cheeks and he turned his face away. “Off!” Seungmin whines, pushing Jisung’s shoulders with a bit more force.
Jisung finally relents, rolling off Seungmin and groaning. “I’m so tired…”
“Then sleep.”
“Wow, I never thought of that,” Jisung hums sarcastically. “But I’m hungry too~” he whines.
“Channie has ramyeon. Go get a cup.”
“I don't wanna~” He looks at Seungmin. “Can you get it for me?” He asks, his big brown eyes sparkling and his lips in a puppy dog pout.
Seungmin huffs. “Fine,” he sits up and swings his legs over the edge of the bed. “Don't fall asleep.” He stands and heads to the door.
“Thank you, Seungminnie~” Jisung sings.
Seungmin walks shortly down the hall and knocks on Chan and Changbin’s door. Changbin answered and he leaned against the door frame. “Seungmin-ah, what's up?”
“Jisungie’s hungry and lazy, so I came to steal from Channie’s ramyeon stash.”
Changbin stepped aside, letting Seungmin in. Seungmin immediately noticed the lone bed on the room. “Did staff reserve the wrong rooms?” The younger asks. Chan and Changbin seem confused. “The bed. Jisungie and I got one bed too.”
The two hyungs look at each other before Changbin speaks up. “Right, yeah. There must have been some kind of error. But, I mean, it's not like we never shared beds before. We don't really mind
Chan digs through one of his bags. “If you're uncomfortable, I can talk to hotel management and get you guys a different room.”
Seungmin shakes his head. “We don't mind either. It's fine.”
Chan hands Seungmin a ramyeon cup. “Don't keep him waiting,” he jokes.
“Thanks, hyung.” Seungmin smiles before walking to the door. “Goodnight,” he calls to the pair, getting his words echoed back to him before he left.
Seungmin opened the door to his hotel room and walked to the bed. “Hyung, I got your ramyeon. It's the mild kind. Channie knows you well.”
Jisung didn't answer, causing Seungmin to reach over to touch his shoulder. The elder of the two just whines, burying his face into his pillow. Seungmin gives up on waking his hyung and turns off the lights, climbing into bed and closing his eyes, letting his tiredness take hold within minutes.
The next morning, when Seungmin opens his eyes, he finds his hyung clinging to him, head on his shoulder, hugging his arm, still fast asleep.
