Chapter Text
Ms. Granger,
I know the past few years have not been easy on any of us. You’ve experienced more suffering than I care to think on at the hands of my family. I believe your testimonial in regards to Draco as well as myself greatly influenced a much gentler result than we would have otherwise received. I understand you have chosen to take up a role in the ministry. Please do not hesitate to inform me how I can support your legislation.
Sincerely,
Narcissa Malfoy
The note rather obviously glossed over several details but Hermione Granger was not one to pass up opportunities. If Narcissa Malfoy wanted to use her galleons and skills as a pureblood socialite to support Hermione's causes she was happy to help her efforts at reforming her reputation, especially with Lucius in Azkaban. She wasn’t going to worry about Draco for now.
Mrs. Malfoy,
I am pleased to hear from you. I am settling into this role well and have written up a House Elf Rights Bill. If you wish to support me you may. I recognize you may still hold sway with families that hold the more conservative seats on the Wizengamot. Perhaps a charity gala could be organized? Lets have tea to discuss.
-Hermione Granger
And so began the start of a prosperous friendship as well as a flurry of Prophet headlines.
Getting In the Golden Girls Good Graces
The inside scoop on societies new influential friendship
Does the Golden Girl Need More Gold?
Malfoy involvement on Elf Rights Campaign
They seemed to have a proclivity for alliteration. Unfortunately other headlines also included
Werewolf Rally: Flint Leads the Pack
The Dark Side still holds sway among dark creatures
Flint Gone Feral?
Werewolf attacks on the rise with 2 dead and 2 more missing.
It seemed she would have to check in on Harry at lunch to make sure he took a break and ate something in between his Auror raids and strategy meetings.
