"Daaaaaad!"
Guest groaned from beneath the blankets, one eye cracking open just in time to see a small blur launch itself onto the bed like a missile. A weight slammed into his stomach— seven years old, all elbows.
"Charlotte—!" He wheezed.
"Happy birthday, daddy!" She yelled right into his face, practically bouncing on his ribs. "You're old now! Really old!"
From the hallway came Daisy's voice, mildly exasperated.
"Charlotte, what did I say about bothering your father before breakfast?"
"But it's his birthday!" Charlotte sang, grabbing two fistfuls of the blanket and shaking it. "I had to scream it into his brain or he'd forget!"
Guest coughed out a laugh, rubbing at his eyes with one hand and trying to pin down the feral child with the other. "I'm retired from the army, sweetheart, not from consciousness."
Daisy appeared in the doorway, holding a tray with pancakes, scrambled eggs, and a single candle poking out of a sausage.
"Happy birthday, soldier," she said, walking in carefully. "If you survive this assault from your daughter, there's breakfast."
"I'm strong." Guest grunted, prying Charlotte off his face. "But I don't know if I'm that strong."
Charlotte giggled and flopped dramatically next to him, arms flung wide. "Can I have the candle?"
"Nope." Daisy replied. "You already ate the last birthday candle I brought out. Wax isn't food."
Charlotte made a face. "That was one time."
"Three times." Daisy corrected gently, setting the tray on the nightstand.
Guest chuckled, sitting up with a grunt, ruffling Charlotte's hair. "You two teamed up on this?"
"Operation make daddy cry from happiness!" Charlotte said proudly.
"We're still working on the crying part." Daisy added, smirking.
Guest grinned wide. "You're getting close."
Charlotte suddenly gasped. "Oh! My gift!"
She scrambled off the bed, nearly tripping over the blanket she tangled herself in, and bolted out of the room.
"She wrapped it herself." She said casually, sitting down at the edge of the bed and handing Guest a fork. "So expect at least three layers of tape and possibly a sock."
Guest snorted, still rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
Charlotte came back in, clutching a slightly dented box wrapped in paper that had been massacred by a sticker overload. She climbed back onto the bed with exaggerated care, kneeling in front of him with glowing eyes.
"Here," she breathed. "Open it slowly."
Guest arched a brow at Daisy, who just sipped her coffee with a smile.
He peeled back the layers of tape, sticker, ribbon, sticker again— until finally, he pulled out a small, dark box. He opened it…
And paused.
Inside was a polished wristwatch— simple, but nice. He turned it over… and there, on the inside of the lid, was a tiny family photo. Him, Daisy, Charlotte— squished together on the couch in their pajamas. He didn't even remember the picture being taken.
Charlotte was watching him with wide, expectant eyes.
"I picked it out." She whispered, voice small and proud. "So you can have us with you even when you go outside. Or to the grocery store. Or, like… war again. But don't do that."
Guest blinked a few times. Then smiled, slow and warm. "I love it, kiddo."
Charlotte squealed with delight, hugging his arm tight.
Daisy leaned in, brushing a crumb off his lips, her smile softer now. "She picked that picture, too."
He looked at Daisy and grinned. "Alright, tough act to follow… So, where's your present?"
She raised a brow, smirking.
"You'll have to be patient until tonight."
Oh.
Guest cleared his throat. "So it's a cup, right?"
Daisy gave him a slow look, and leaned in to whisper in his ear—
"Not unless that's what you're into, birthday boy."
Charlotte, thankfully distracted by her now wasted stickers, completely missed the way Guest turned bright red and choked on his coffee.
After breakfast, the family got dressed and piled into the car. Guest wore his new watch, and every five minutes, Charlotte made him check the time just to hear the little click of the mechanism.
"It’s classy." She declared from the back seat, licking ice cream off her knuckles two hours later.
"Technically accurate." Guest muttered, dabbing her sticky cheek with a napkin.
They sat on a bench just outside a downtown ice cream shop.
As the sun dipped just a little lower, Daisy turned to Guest and stretched her arms overhead. "Okay." She said brightly. "Time for phase two."
Guest blinked. "There’s a phase two?"
She grinned. "Shopping."
Guest made a face somewhere between panic and despair. "It's my birthday."
"Exactly," Daisy replied, standing and grabbing his hand. "Which means you don't have to carry anything. We'll make Charlotte do it."
Charlotte perked up immediately. "Hey!"
The grocery store was halfway full— a little odd since it's a weekend.
Guest pushed the cart while Daisy read off a list from her phone, and Charlotte trailed behind.
"Bread."
"Got it." Guest replied, tossing in a loaf.
"Milk."
"Whole or skim?"
Charlotte gasped. "Chocolate milk!"
Guest blinked. "It's not on the list."
"Neither is joy..." She sighed.
One bottle of chocolate milk clinked its way into the cart. Charlotte fist pumped in triumph.
"Snacks." Daisy read next, and Charlotte had already vanished into the next aisle.
Vegetables came next— the usual... carrots, broccoli, so on and so forth.
"That's a… Zucchinisaur." She said, pointing. "And that's a Broccochu."
Guest chuckled, grabbing a head of lettuce. "That's a celery stick, champ."
Charlotte squinted at it. "Looks like something I'd use to whack a burglar."
Then—
Daisy stopped.
She walked just a little slower past one aisle. Her eyes scanning a shelf.
Guest followed her gaze and froze.
Lubricants.
Shelves of them. Plain. Flavored. Warming. Cooling. Enough to make a priest sweat.
Daisy paused, thoughtful. Then she casually leaned in and plucked a small bottle from the middle, turning it over to read the label.
Guest, without saying a word, turned sharply and blocked Charlotte's view with his broad back.
"Hey, kiddo." He said quickly, kneeling to her level. "Want to pick out a cereal that doesn't taste like cardboard?"
Charlotte blinked up at him. "Can I get the one with the alien on it?"
"Only if the alien doesn’t have lasers." He muttered.
Behind him, Daisy slid the bottle smoothly into the bottom of the basket beneath a bag of spinach.
By the time Guest turned back around, she was already walking again.
He stared at her, just long enough for her to glance back and raise an innocent brow.
"What?"
Guest cleared his throat. "You know the spinach is on top of—"
"Shhh." Daisy said with a perfect smile. "Grocery shopping is a family activity."
Guest rubbed the back of his neck.
Charlotte returned, proudly hugging a box of sugar loaded alien cereal. Diabetes at its finest.

The house smelled like garlic.
Daisy moved in the kitchen, tying her apron with one hand while the other stirred something in a sizzling pan.
In the living room, Guest already collapsed on the couch, arms raised defensively as Charlotte climbed him.
"Alright— ow— truce!" He said, laughing as she elbowed him in the ribs mid giggle. "I'm not twenty anymore, sweetie. My bones make noises."
"You're forty seven!" Charlotte declared, planting her foot proudly on his thigh. "That's still under one hundred!"
The TV buzzed on in the background, some nature documentary about desert beetles he hadn't really been watching— or bothered to change the channel. He rested his head back against the couch and let Charlotte tucker herself out.
Instead, his mind… drifted.
Not toward the news. Toward Daisy.
Guest swallowed, running a hand down his face.
"Charlotte." He said suddenly, peeking over the couch at her. "Wanna help me set the table for mom?"
She popped up instantly. "Alrighty!" And as she dashed toward the drawers, Guest stood slowly, stretching out and casted a glance toward the kitchen.
Daisy hadn't said a word yet. But when she caught his eye, she smiled over her shoulder— knowing.
And that smile didn't help his imagination one bit.
Guest cleared his throat and turned back toward the table. Charlotte was already busy arranging forks.
Roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, garlic green beans. It smelled heavenly.
Guest took a bite, chewed, then glanced across the table.
"So," he said, trying to keep his voice casual, "this is amazing, as usual."
Daisy raised an eyebrow, suspicious of the compliment. "Why, thank you."
Charlotte mashed a green bean with her fork. "It's squishy."
He smiled at his daughter, then cut into his chicken. "You know, I've already gotten some pretty great birthday gifts today…"
Daisy's mouth twitched.
"Oh?"
Guest nodded. "Got this awesome watch. Got to eat syrup in bed while being tackled..."
"Mhm." Daisy said, sipping her water. "Big day."
"Which makes me wonder…" He looked up, locking eyes with her. "Are we all out of surprises?"
Daisy leaned forward slightly, resting her chin in her hand. "Depends."
"On what?"
"On whether certain people can be patient."
Charlotte, oblivious, was now playing with her food. Guest gave Daisy a long look.
"Well, I can be patient. But I am a curious man. Retired army or not, I still know when someone's withholding information."
Daisy's smile grew. "You trying to interrogate your wife over mashed potatoes?"
He shrugged innocently. "Just trying to determine the classification level of my gift."
Charlotte chimed in without looking up. "Is it a sword? Mommy mentioned something like that I think."
"Nope!" Guest quickly said.
Daisy took a sip of wine. "Not a sword." She replied. "But it does involve a sheath."
What?
Guest nearly choked.
Charlotte blinked. "What's a sheath?"
"It's bedtime!" Guest blurted, standing up fast.
Charlotte blinked at him, confused. "But I haven't even—"
"Bedtime." He repeated, already scooping her into his arms. "Because tomorrow's another big day!"
"But I was gonna give the potato duck wings!" Gods, children...
"I'll put it in the fridge." Daisy offered, barely holding back a laugh.
Guest started moving toward the hall, Charlotte draped over his shoulder.
"I will find out what it is." He warned over his shoulder.
Daisy, still at the table, just called sweetly after him. "You're welcome to try, lovely. But don't blow your energy too early. You'll need it tonight."
Guest walked straight into the hallway wall. "Dad, are you okay?"
"I'm fine. I'm fine."
Charlotte was finally down for the night. Guest shut her door softly, exhaled, and turned toward the kitchen.
Daisy was already at the sink, sleeves rolled up, hands in soapy water. Guest moved in beside her, grabbing a towel and starting to dry the dishes.
But still… she said nothing.
He didn't push.
He wanted to— every muscle in his chest taut with curiosity. Yeah, they'll surely have sex. But she wouldn't drag this "gift" out for so long.
Patience.
Eventually, the sink was clear. She turned off the kitchen light and walked ahead of him, casually. Guest followed, trying not to stare too obviously at the sway of her hips.
Okay, the need might be getting to his head— or dick.
Finally in the bedroom, Daisy headed toward the dresser without a word, opening the top drawer, rummaging briefly… then walked to the nightstand on her side of the bed.
Guest watched from the corner of his eye as she opened it.
And then, casually— finally— she grabbed the bottle of lube from earlier inside.
Guest swallowed.
Hard.
Still, he said nothing.
Instead, he climbed into bed, lay back, and folded his arms behind his head. Pretending he wasn't paying attention.
Daisy turned, watching him settle. "You're being very quiet." She said, crossing her arms.
"I'm retired." He replied. "Quiet is all I've got left."
She snorted, then reached to switch off the lamp.
He heard the faint rustle of a bag. "Remember I said I had something personal for you?"
Guest glanced at her. "Been on my toes all day."
"It's this."
She held it up in the dim light. Blue, silicone... longer than expected. Girthier, too.
Guest blinked.
“Oh.” A strap-on.
Daisy tilted her head. "Happy birthday, sweetheart." He stared a moment longer, then looked up at the ceiling. "That's... big."
She grinned. "You think I don't know what you can take?"
He didn't answer. But his face was slowly flushing.
She set the harness down next to him, then leaned over the bed, hands on either side of his chest. "I got you something that's for me too."
"You mean in me."
Daisy"s grin widened. "If you'll let me."
Guest exhaled hard through his nose, then looked at her. "That's a hell of a gift, Daisy..."
"I take that as a yes?" He didn't answer. Just shifted his legs apart— slowly— and reached to tug his briefs down.
Daisy raised a brow, impressed. "You're not even gonna pretend to hesitate?"
"I am hesitating." He muttered. "You just don't notice over how goddamn quiet I"m being."
She laughed, then kissed him. "You'll tell me if it's too much, right?"
"Yes ma'am."
Her eyes gleamed. "Good. Then lie back."
She stood up, stripped slowly— no rush. Guest watched, chest rising and falling, arms still behind his head.
Daisy buckled the harness on carefully, adjusting the straps around her hips. The blue silicone stood out against her skin. She slicked it thoroughly, more than generously.
When she knelt between his legs, she leaned down and kissed the inside of his thigh first. "You're still breathing, so I'm taking that as a green light."
"Let's just say I'm... curious."
She chuckled again— then reached for the lube. "Lift your hips."
Guest lifted his hips— just slightly, just enough for Daisy to slide a pillow beneath him with one hand. The lube bottle clicked as she opened it again, warming some between her fingers.
"You okay?" She asked.
He let out a breath, eyes still on the ceiling. "Feels a bit like jumping out of a plane."
Daisy smiled gently. "Good news is, I'm not gonna let you hit the ground."
She kissed his inner thigh again, then shifted, spreading him open with a careful hand. Her fingers were slick now, and she didn't rush. Instead, she circled his entrance slowly, letting him feel just the glide of her touch.
Guest twitched slightly. "Sensitive?"
"A little." He muttered.
She pressed her lips to the inside of his knee. "You're doing great. Just breathe for me."
He did. Slowly.
The first fingertip pressed in gradually, teasing, coaxing. She moved in tiny motions, stopping whenever his muscles tensed. Her other hand rested on his thigh.
"You're tight." Daisy murmured. "But you're letting me in. That's good. Really good."
Guest let out a low exhale. "Don't sound so proud."
"I am proud." She said simply, easing her finger deeper.
He swallowed, eyes drifting shut now. "God, that feels weird."
"Uncomfortable?"
"No. Just... new."
Daisy smiled softly. "New can be good."
She worked slowly— curling, withdrawing, pressing again. Giving him time to feel everything. To adjust.
"You're opening up so well." She whispered, letting her second finger trail beside the first. "I know this part isn't even the gift yet, but damn, watching you take it? Already worth it."
Guest huffed a breath— half a laugh, half a groan. "I'm gonna regret all my years of pretending this shit wasn't worth trying, aren't I?" Daisy grinned. "Oh, baby. You absolutely are."
When she finally slipped a second finger in, his hips twitched up again. "There we go," she cooed, thumb brushing slow circles against his hip. "You feel that?"
"Jesus..." Guest groaned. "Yeah. I— yeah."
She adjusted angle slightly, curling just right— and when she hit the spot again, his breath caught. She did it again. And again.
"That's it." Daisy whispered. "You're doing so well. Relax."
His jaw clenched, then relaxed again. "Keep talkin' like that and I'm gonna—"
She kissed his thigh again. "Gonna what?"
He didn't answer.
Daisy smirked, withdrawing her fingers slow and slick, then reaching for the lube again.
"Still with me?" He nodded, breath ragged. "Yeah. Still curious."
Daisy hummed at his answer, dipping her fingers into the lube again.
Guest exhaled, he just let her spread him open again, her slick fingers returning to that tight, twitching rim.
This time, she didn't take as long. The first finger slid in like it belonged there, and the second followed close behind, her knuckles pressing deeper, firmer. Guest shuddered beneath her.
"You're already opening up more." Daisy hunmed. "Look at you."
Then she crooked her fingers just right.
He whimpered.
It broke out of him reflexively— shaky.
Daisy froze for half a second. Then—
Oh.
Oh, that sound.
A rush of heat pooled low in her stomach.
"There you are." She whispered, and curled her fingers again. Pressed against that sweet spot, again.
Guest's hips jerked. Another sound tore out of him. "Fuck— Daisy—"
"Yes, sweetheart?"
His hand reached down blindly, clutching at the sheet, his knuckles white. "Gimme a second."
Daisy stilled instantly. Her fingers remained buried inside him, but she didn't move. Just watched the way he panted, how his thighs trembled.
He turned his head, still flushed, still catching his breath. "You're enjoying this too much."
"I didn't expect you to whimper." She murmured, awed. "Jesus, Guest, you're gonna ruin me."
He let out a laugh. "Yeah? Well, my ass is about to be ruined, so."
Daisy laughed, then leaned in to press a kiss to his hipbone. "We'll go slow."
Guest nodded. "One more minute. Then I want to see what that thing feels like."
"You sure?"
He looked down at her, his expression still flushed.
"I've had worse things in me than that, love," he said. "Go ahead, darling."
Daisy poured more lube onto her fingers. She leaned in again, spreading him slowly open once more.
The pad of her fingertip pressed inward and upward— right to that spot.
Guest's whole body jumped.
"Fuck—" He hissed through his teeth.
"Oh," Daisy whispered. "There it is."
She did it again. And again. Curling, pressing, circling.
He let out another whimper.
And Daisy stopped for just a second— stunned by how much it got to her. The sound. Him, so strong, so usually contained, whimpering because of her.
"You don't even know how hot that was." She murmured.
Guest tried to speak, but his mouth just opened wordlessly. His hips bucked instead— against her fingers, against the air.
She kept going, fingers massaging his prostate. "Daisy—"
"Mmhmm?" She cooed.
"Jesus, baby, I need— I need a second, I— fuck, you gotta give me a second—"
She paused instantly, fingers still buried but unmoving. "You okay?" She asked.
He blew out a shaky breath, his face flushed, eyes glazed. "I'm— yeah. I'm okay. Just... never felt anything like that." Daisy leaned over and kissed his stomach gently. "That's the idea."
Then, just as he started to settle, just as his breathing evened out again— she moved her fingers again.
He groaned, louder now, chest lifting off the mattress. His hand gripped the sheets.
"Baby— Daisy, I'm gonna—"
She stopped.
Fingers slipping out with a slow, final drag. Her palm rested on his thigh again.
He was panting. His cock twitching against his belly, aching.
He looked at her, frowning. "Why?"
Daisy smiled sweetly and kissed his knee.
"Because I haven't given you your gift yet."
Daisy moved up between his legs again, the harness brushing his thighs as she settled into place. She gripped the base of the strap, steadying herself— and pressed the tip gently against him.
Guest tensed beneath her, eyes flicking open, locked on the ceiling again. "You good?" She whispered.
He nodded quickly. "Yeah. Just... go slow."
Daisy leaned down, her free hand resting flat against his chest. "Always." She murmured. "You just keep breathing."
And with that, she started to push.
The head eased in first— resistance, then give, the tight stretch making Guest's whole body temse. His hands clutched the sheets again.
"Shhh," Daisy whispered, eyes darting toward the bedroom door. "Charlotte's right next door, remember?"
Guest exhaled hard through his nose, biting down on the inside of his cheek. "You're not the one being opened up like a goddamn gift box."
Daisy smiled, a little breathless herself.
"Maybe not." She pushed a little deeper.
He squeezed his eyes shut, jaw clenched.
Another inch. Then another. She paused halfway, letting him adjust, brushing her thumb over his hip slowly.
"You're too big—" Guest's voice came out as a whisper.
"You're taking it." She smiled.. "You're doing it, baby. I'm so proud of you."
He nodded, shaky. His cock was rock hard, leaking. Daisy eased in the rest of the way, finally bottoming out with a slow, full press of her hips. Her breath caught in her throat when she felt his body give, finally, all the way.
Guest made a sound— somewhere between a gasp and a groan —and then quickly slapped a hand over his own mouth.
"Quiet." She warned, lips brushing his ear. "Or I'll have to stop again."
He glared at her, red faced and sweating. She grinned, rolling her hips gently, the movement small but devastating.
His whole body twitched under her.
"Daisy..." He hissed behind his hand.
"Yes, baby?" She did it again. Slow drag out. Careful push in.
"Fuck."
She kissed his chest, her hand moving to cradle the side of his face. "You're so good like this." She breathed. "So fucking strong, even when you're falling apart."
Another thrust, deeper now. His hips lifted without meaning to, chasing her.
"You want more?" She asked.
He nodded quickly, biting down on a moan.
"You want me to fuck you properly?"
He nodded again.
"Then be good and stay quiet."
She rocked into him again, letting the full weight and depth of it settle between them.
Guest's head tilted back against the pillow, lips parted, panting through gritted teeth.
"God— fuck, Daisy—"
It came out louder than he meant. His eyes flew open in panic, and he slapped both hands over his mouth this time, muffling himself.
Daisy blinked. And then smiled.
"Oh," she said softly, leaning over him. "That's new."
Guest looked like he wanted to sink into the mattress and die.
"I usually have to ask you to make noise." She teased, thrusting again, just a little deeper. "You're so damn quiet when you're on top. All those grunts and clenched jaws."
He glared at her over his fingertips. She rolled her hips once more, and he shuddered.
"But now?" She whispered, lowering herself so her breasts brushed his chest, her lips close to his ear. "Now you're moaning like I've got a hand around your soul."
He gave a strangled sound in response, trying so hard to stay quiet— but his hips were moving with her now.
Daisy leaned back up, breath coming faster. She reached down between them with one hand and wrapped it around his cock.
He choked.
"Daisy… I—"
"Shhh." She stroked him slowly in time with her thrusts. "You're doing so good, baby. You feel so good."
She wasn't teasing anymore. Not really.
Because the way he moaned was doing something to her.
She tightened her grip on his cock, pumping a little faster. Then drove her hips forward again, just a little harder this time.
His hands clenched the sheets now, mouth open but silent, like he couldn't even trust himself to make a sound.
He whimpered again, helpless.
"That's it." She breathed.
Thrust after thrust, her hand working him in perfect rhythm. Guest writhed under her, his whole body flushed, muscles trembling from the effort of staying silent. His moans had gone breathy now, drawn out and shaky, and when she twisted her wrist just right—
His back arched.
And his mouth dropped open in a silent cry.
"There he is." Daisy whispered, voice full of awe. "That's my good boy."
Guest was shaking beneath her— his muscles tight, his chest heaving, his cock twitching with every movement.
And then it hit him.
His whole body arched— mouth open, eyes squeezed shut— and he came.
Daisy felt it all— the way his body locked up, the way his cock pulsed in her hand, the way he choked out a breath that sounded like her name but never quite made it out.
She stopped moving and just smiled.
Her hands slid gently up his thighs, watching him come down.
"Hey." She whispered softly. "You okay?"
Guest let out a long breath, his eyes opening slowly. And he nodded. "Yeah. Just… Jesus."
Daisy chuckled under her breath. "You want to stop?"
He nodded again, voice a little hoarse. "Yeah. It's getting kinda… uncomfortable now."
She was already easing out before he finished the sentence, moving slowly, carefully. She unbuckled the harness and set it aside without a word.
"I'm sorry if I pushed too far." She said gently, leaning down to press a kiss to his thigh. "I should've slowed down sooner."
But Guest just shook his head, pulling in another deep breath. "No. It didn't hurt. Not really. It was just… a lot. First time and all."
Daisy softened instantly, reaching to run her fingers through his hair. She leaned forward, kissing his forehead. Then his temple. Then the corner of his mouth. "You were amazing." She whispered.
Daisy climbed off the bed and grabbed a warm towel she left in the bathroom earlier. She came back and wiped him down gently— his stomach, his thighs, his cock.
She climbed back into bed once he was clean, curling up beside him, one hand stroking his chest in soft circles.
"You did so good." She murmured against his shoulder. "I know that wasn't easy... maybe should've told you after all."
Guest turned his head, eyes meeting hers. "It's fine sweetheart, I trust you."
Daisy kissed him again, softer—and pulled the blanket over both of them. "Happy birthday, love."
He chuckled. "Best damn gift I ever got."
