Work Text:
Beep. Beep. Beep.
Atsushi yawned, stretching as he woke up. He tiredly turned his alarm off. It’s 7am already?
It was time to start another day at the agency. Even though Atsushi had been there for a year now, it still felt brand new to him, like he had just gotten recruited by Dazai yesterday. Atsushi smiled to himself, remembering how he had dove in fully clothed to save the man floating in the river.
Speaking of clothes, why were his so uncomfortable today? It felt like every inch of fabric was clinging to Atsushi, and he pinched and pulled at it to give his body some breathing room.
Huh. Why was he so sweaty? Atsushi frowned. He must be coming down with something, although he didn’t feel too bad, just slightly…off.
Maybe he should call off of work today. Atsushi hated missing work, especially since the agency seemed to need his help so often, from fighting enemy groups to occasionally tagging along as an extra set of limbs to help carry things like Yosano’s shopping bags or Ranpo’s extensive stash of sweets. But, as much as he was useful to the ADA (at least, he hoped), Atsushi didn’t want to make them all sick.
Suddenly, his phone pinged, and he lunged for it to see who messaged him. Surprisingly, it was Dazai, who usually wasn’t awake at this hour.
Don’t come to work today. Make sure you take the right pills.
Atsushi’s eyebrow twitched at Dazai’s message. Did he somehow find out that Atsushi was sick? Even Atsushi didn’t know he was sick! But Dazai had a knack for knowing everything, as his deduction skills were close to being on Ranpo’s level. Atsushi sighed, typing out a quick “Okay,” before dragging himself to his kitchen to see if he had any medicines.
Unfortunately, Atsushi’s cupboards were empty, save for a half empty bottle of cough syrup. Well that wouldn’t do. He wasn’t even coughing.
Atsushi did feel like he was going into a fever, though, as his body felt warm all over. Oh well. He would have to make a quick run to the store to grab fever medication. Are those the pills Dazai was talking about? His message was pretty vague. Atsushi couldn’t think of any other pills that Dazai could be referencing to, though, and he didn’t want to ask for clarification for such an obvious answer. That settles it then! Atsushi would go to the nearest convenience store and get some fever medication.
But first, he needed to eat breakfast. Atsushi dug through his cabinets for something edible. He found some slightly stale cereal and a small carton of milk that had expired yesterday. It’s probably still okay to drink, right? Atsushi stared at the milk warily, before deciding just to eat his cereal dry. He struggled to swallow it down, as his throat was pretty dry. Yup. Atsushi definitely needed that medicine.
He finished eating and looked over at his closet. Sure, he could wear his work outfit, but it seemed like it would be uncomfortable and he wasn’t going into work today anyways. So Atsushi decided to settle for a loose T-shirt and shorts. They were more breathable and less suffocating than his usual button down shirt and pants. Atsushi took a breath, before slipping on his shoes and heading outside.
Thankfully, the walk to the convenience store wasn’t too bad, but Atsushi grew more and more uncomfortable with every passing second. Something about how his clothes shifted on his skin, or even the slightest breeze bothered him. By the time he reached the store, he was feeling tingly all over. This fever’s no joke!
The convenience store was pretty empty, so Atsushi went through it quickly, grateful he didn’t have to interact with anyone in this state. He stood for longer than he intended, staring at the different fever medication options, before settling on the cheapest one and checking out via the self checkout.
As Atsushi left the store, he started feeling hazy. His vision was blurring while being perfectly clear at the same time, and the tingling sensation had gotten worse. He contemplated taking the medication right here and now, but then he sighed, realizing he had no water or milk to take it with. He would just have to wait until he got home.
Speaking of which, where was he? Atsushi’s feet seemed to have moved on autopilot, and he looked around, trying to get his bearings. Atsushi was feeling dizzy now, so he decided to sit down on the curb of the sidewalk and rest for a minute. The sidewalk felt weird, though, in a way Atsushi couldn’t describe, and he shifted back and forth, unable to get comfortable.
All of a sudden, a familiar voice rang out.
“Jinko?!”
Atsushi’s senses suddenly went on red-alert…well, they would be, but they seemed to be muffled right now. Either way, he knew that voice, and he swiveled his head to see Akutagawa approaching him.
“Akutagawa? What are you doing here?” Atsushi said, narrowing his eyes at the black-coated human in front of him.
“I could ask the same of you, Jinko. You’re an eyesore,” Akutagawa said with a huff. As he got closer, he stared at Atsushi, looking him up and down.
“You look terrible,” he finally concluded, shaking his head judgmentally.
Atsushi rolled his eyes. Why did he have to run into this guy of all people on the day he was sick? “That’s because I’m sick, alright? I’m just trying to get back home so I can take my fever medication and rest.”
Akutagawa took an automatic step back, probably because his immune system wasn’t the best. Atsushi smiled with small satisfaction that he was able to one-up the other man in some shape or form.
Akutagawa looked different, though, now that he was close enough for Atsushi to see through the haze. Something about the way his clothes shaped his body, even though he looked like a gothic vampire…it suited him. And his hair looked soft. Atsushi wondered what shampoo he used.
He realized Akutagawa was staring at him, and he chuckled nervously, trying to think of something to say to break the tension.
“You’re really red, Jinko,” Akutagawa finally said, furrowing his nonexistent eyebrows.
Atsushi opened his mouth to say something, when Akutagawa suddenly crinkled his nose. “What’s that smell?”
Atsushi tilted his head in confusion. “I don’t smell anything,” he said, sniffing the air.
The ground was getting really uncomfortable now. Atsushi started feeling moist down there, and his eyes widened. Was he having diarrhea? Oh god, this is so embarrassing. Of course Akutagawa would be the one to see him humiliate himself in public like this. Atsushi tried to calm his breathing, hoping that Akutagawa would just leave him alone so he could die in embarrassment in peace.
Atsushi looked up at Akutagawa, who was now staring at him intensely, his eyes wide. That can’t be good.
“Jinko…”
Atsushi braced himself for the worst. At this point, he kind of hoped Akutagawa would use Rashomon to tear him in half, because at least the pain would be in an instant, unlike this painful moment that was being dragged out indefinitely.
“…are you in heat?” Akutagawa finished, his eyes wider than ever.
Atsushi stared. “Heat?” he asked, confused.
Akutagawa’s eyes grew imperceptibly wider, before he slammed his hand to his face in a violent facepalm, scrunching his features beneath his hand.
“You idiot!” he shouted. “How do you not know what heat is?”
Atsushi glared at him in offense. “How was I supposed to know? The orphanage didn’t teach us about stuff like that!”
Akutagawa seemed to fight with himself, before he groaned in frustration. “We need to get you home,” he said, glaring at Atsushi as if he had killed his entire family.
Atsushi nodded in agreement, moving to get up, when he remembered the wetness in his pants. “Oh, uh, I’ll go home by myself, you can leave now!” he said in a shrill voice, terrified Akutagawa would see that he had practically shit himself.
“You can’t go by yourself, you fool. If someone sees you like this, smells you like this, it’ll be…urghh!” he shouted, leaving Atsushi even more confused.
Before he could respond, however, Akutagawa activated Rashomon. Atsushi yelped, unprepared for such an attack, but thankfully (or maybe not) he didn’t get cut in half. Instead, Rashomon wrapped around him, essentially dragging him behind Akutagawa. Atsushi was about to complain but a vibration practically went through his body, and he let out a gasp. He saw Akutagawa flinch at the sound and raised an eyebrow. Akutagawa was strangely sensitive today.
Atsushi let himself be dragged all the way back to his apartment, though he desperately wanted to voice his concern about Akutagawa automatically knowing where he lived. But there were bigger problems at hand. Mainly, Atsushi could barely stand. His legs were shaking for some reason, and when Akutagawa released him from Rashomon, he ended up practically falling onto Akutagawa, who let out an angry noise of surprise.
Strangely enough, he wrapped his arm around Atsushi to stabilize him instead of shoving him off. Atsushi shuddered. Everywhere Akutagawa touched seemed to light on fire. Weird.
Even more surprising, Akutagawa came inside with Atsushi, and began to furiously search the cabinets for something, slamming them open and shut without abandon.
“Hey, that’s—” Atsushi stopped at the sound of his own voice. It was breathless and high pitched, which was unlike him. What the hell is going on?
Suddenly, Akutagawa slammed the last cabinet, louder than before.
“Where are your suppressants?” he demanded.
“What? I don’t have vitamins…” Atsushi responded, his head feeling clouded.
“Not supplements, you idiot! Suppressants! For your heat!”
Atsushi felt himself getting irritated. “What are you talking about? Just call it a fever, and I bought the medication for it, right here!” he shouted, though it came out as more of a whine.
Akutagawa froze, before pinching the bridge of his nose and sighing furiously. He then spoke moderately calmly. “Heat, Jinko, is when omegas have episodes where they have…bodily changes…and need…assistance. And the point of heat suppressants,” he said, his voice climbing, “is so that idiots like yourself don’t get assaulted!”
Atsushi stared, slowly processing each word. “But I thought that whole thing about alphas, betas, and omegas was just a fairytale or something…”
Akutagawa closed his eyes, seemingly trying to calm himself down. “You’re actually an idiot.”
He then turned to leave. “You’re going to have to stay here until your heat is over. Don’t answer the door for anyone. Goodbye.”
Atsushi felt a pang in his chest as Akutagawa reached for the door, and suddenly, he realized he didn’t want Akutagawa to leave. He needed him.
“No!” Atsushi shouted, lunging forward and grabbing the back of Akutagawa’s coat. He used his tiger strength to pull Akutagawa backwards. He might’ve pulled too hard, though, because Akutagawa went flying. He shouted in surprise, landing on the floor, which knocked the wind out of him. As Akutagawa recovered, Atsushi used the remainder of his strength to climb on top of Akutagawa.
The expression Akutagawa gave Atsushi was strange. It had anger, for sure, as well as surprise, but there was also something else. Also, Akutagawa smelled…nice. Atsushi wondered if it was the shampoo that made his hair so soft. He suddenly wanted to touch it. He just wanted to be…closer to Akutagawa, though he couldn’t say why.
“Get…off…of me,” Akutagawa gritted out, seemingly fighting something off.
“Akutagawa…I need you [to stay],” Atsushi said in a strained voice, not able to get all the words out.
Akutagawa’s eyes widened.
Atsushi couldn’t see what the big deal was. After all, Akutagawa was already here, he might as well help Atsushi get better or just keep him company. Not that Atsushi liked having Akutagawa’s company, but it was better than nothing. “Help…me…please,” he squeaked out, his voice barely coming out.
Just then, Atsushi realized the wetness was still building in his pants, meaning he probably was getting his diarrhea on Akutagawa. Oh god.
As quickly as he could, Atsushi rolled off of Akutagawa, his back hitting the floor with a thud, but it didn’t feel as bad as he thought it would. As he got his bearings, he felt a new weight on top of him, and he looked up to see…
Akutagawa?
Akutagawa was hunched over him, breathing hard for some reason and staring at him with an unreadable expression. Well, he is asthmatic.
“Jinko,” he growled out, and the sound of his voice made Atsushi shiver, for some reason. “Do you realize what you’re asking? Once we do this, we can never go back,” he said between breaths.
Atsushi, meanwhile, was lost in the smell of his…shampoo? He hazily looked into Akutagawa’s sharp eyes, and grinned lopsidedly. What did Akutagawa mean anyways? Of course they could never go back after this, after all, time was constantly passing! One can’t go back to any moment, no matter how good or bad it was. Akutagawa was so dramatic.
“Yes…I know that…” Atsushi said, rolling his eyes at Akutagawa’s antics.
He opened his mouth to explain the concept of passing time, when he felt a pressure on his lips. Atsushi blinked. Then he blinked again. Akutagawa was…kissing him?! He made a noise of surprise, but he found that he rather liked it, and before he realized it, he was kissing back. Their lips connected again, then again, then again, and Atsushi couldn’t get enough of it. Then, he felt a wetness on his lower lip. Is that his tongue?!
Atsushi opened his mouth in shock and he felt Akutagawa’s tongue enter his mouth, sliding against his own. It was a weird sensation, but it also felt incredible, especially since every inch of Atsushi’s body was on fire right now. Akutagawa’s hands were moving up and down Atsushi’s body, leaving burning trails behind. Then, without warning, he sat up, still on top of Atsushi. He shrugged his coat off, and Atsushi could see his undershirt was sticking to his body from sweat. Maybe it’s because of that coat he wears all the time…it’s too hot!
Atsushi was about to make fun of Akutagawa for dressing so warmly in the current weather, when Akutagawa rolled his hips, and oh. Without thinking, Atsushi let out a moan, and he could see Akutagawa’s normally pale cheeks flush red, his eyes wide and his mouth slightly open. He then noticed the tent in Akutagawa’s pants and he gasped. Why is Akutagawa hard? Then he looked down at his own pants and gasped again. Wait, why am I hard??
However, Atsushi didn’t have much time to process what was going on, as Akutagawa rolled his hips again, making him let out another moan. Then Akutagawa’s lips were on his own again, and they made out while grinding against each other. It felt amazing, but Atsushi wanted more. He just didn’t know what more meant.
Thankfully, Akutagawa seemed to read his mind, and tugged Atsushi’s shirt off, then unbuttoned his own, pausing only to lick and bite all over Atsushi’s bare chest, making him shudder with need. Then he reached for Atsushi’s shorts, which Atsushi gladly began to remove, until…
“Wait!” Atsushi cried out. “You can’t…I mean…it’s messy down there,” he said shamefully, too embarrassed to say that he had diarrhea from this fever, or heat, as Akutagawa called it.
Akutagawa rolled his eyes. “Of course it’s going to be messy, Jinko,” he said in his usual condescending voice, but it was much huskier than usual, and he was panting in between words. Atsushi found it kind of cute, for some reason.
“Yeah, but…” Atsushi trailed off as Akutagawa finished pulling off his shorts.
Maybe he has a diarrhea kink? Oh god, I hope not…
Suddenly, Akutagawa ran a finger along the moist area of Atsushi’s underwear, making him gasp.
He DOES have a diarrhea kink! This is the worst…
Akutagawa gave Atsushi a weird look. “It’s not diarrhea, you idiot. It’s your slick.”
Atsushi flushed in embarrassment at the realization that he had spoken out loud. He then flushed even further at the sound he made when Akutagawa pressed his fingers right in that area. Akutagawa lifted his fingers to show Atsushi, showing him the milky yet clear substance that had collected on his underwear.
“O-oh,” Atsushi squeaked out.
Suddenly, Akutagawa yanked his underwear off, making Atsushi shout in surprise. Atsushi winced at the cold air touching his lower body, and then he scrunched his eyebrows in confusion yet again.
“Wait, we’re both men, so where is it supposed to—”
Atsushi let out his loudest moan yet as Akutagawa practically shoved two fingers inside of him. He scrunched his face, waiting for the pain to come, but it never did. He felt Akutagawa’s fingers moving inside of him, and he moaned and gasped at the intrusion. It felt weird, but it felt…right, somehow. Then Akutagawa was kissing him yet again, and he curled his fingers in a certain direction, making Atsushi gasp into the kiss.
That felt…really good? Atsushi was in disbelief. He didn’t have time to even process the disbelief as Akutagawa pulled his fingers out and pushed them back in, ramming into him at a fast pace that Atsushi couldn’t keep up with. With every pass, Akutagawa hit that one spot that made Atsushi see stars. Before he knew it, there was a warmth building deep in his stomach, and he was breathing hard out of his nose as small strained noises escaped into Akutagawa’s mouth.
All of a sudden, the pressure deflated as Akutagawa suddenly pulled his fingers out, and Atsushi felt a painful emptiness at the absence of them. It was so bad, he could feel tears threatening to spill out of his eyes. He breathed heavily to calm himself down, but he couldn’t, there was just so much need inside of him. Atsushi barely registered Akutagawa shifting so that he could take off his pants and underwear. He also barely registered Akutagawa pushing his legs into his stomach, though he could feel his skin tingle wherever Akutagawa touched.
What Atsushi did register, though, was a warm pressure pushing into him, filling him to the point it felt right for once. Wait, is that Akutagawa’s dick?! Before Atsushi could figure out what was going on, Akutagawa started moving. Fast. Atsushi cried out as Akutagawa pounded into him, both of them out of breath from the rapid pace.
Akutagawa pushed Atsushi’s knees further into his chest, practically folding him in half. The new change in angle made Atsushi let out a moan that was more like a scream as he hit the spot that made him see stars, over and over and over again. It felt so good, Atsushi started sobbing, and the warmth in his stomach continued to build until the tension suddenly snapped, and Atsushi released all over his and Akutagawa’s stomach. He clenched down on Akutagawa, who then thrust into him one more time, before a strange warmth spilled into Atsushi, and Akutagawa all but collapsed.
Atsushi sighed at the feeling of pleasure that tingled throughout his body. Akutagawa breathed heavily into his ear, his lungs fighting to keep up with the exercise.
“Wow, that was…great,” Atsushi said breathlessly.
Akutagawa could only nod in reply, still fighting to catch his breath.
Atsushi smiled, finally running his fingers through Akutagawa’s hair. It was soft. He made a mental note to ask Akutagawa what shampoo he used, because it did a good job, and it smelled…well it smelled really good. Atsushi buried his head into Akutagawa’s hair and inhaled. Hm, maybe it was his body wash? Something about Akutagawa smelled really good, so good that—
“Akutagawa? Can we go again? I think I need another round for my body to settle,” Atsushi said sheepishly, feeling his body heat up again.
Akutagawa groaned, lifting himself up to look at Atsushi. “You’re lucky I like you, Jinko, because I don’t have the stamina for this.”
Atsushi blinked. “Wait, you like me?!”
But before he could ask any further questions, Akutagawa was inside him again, and all he could think about was how good it felt.
To Atsushi’s surprise, he wasn’t fully satisfied after two rounds. In fact, they probably ended up going at it for about 30 to 40 rounds, barely being able to take breaks to eat or drink fluids. He couldn’t help it, though, it felt so good, and it wasn’t like Akutagawa was complaining! They tried more positions than Atsushi knew were possible, and now he knew he would never be able to see Akutagawa again without thinking of what they did.
Something close to a week had passed since Atsushi first went into heat, and he felt embarrassed coming back into the office after doing all…that. Thankfully, no one seemed to ask questions. Even Kunikida stayed silent on the matter, which Atsushi found strange. Maybe Dazai told them?
Speaking of the devil, Dazai appeared before Atsushi, giving him a knowing smile. “So, how was your week with Akutagawa?”
Atsushi blushed a dark red and his eyes widened. “How did you—”
“Don’t worry about that. Did you take the pills I told you about?” Dazai said, grinning widely.
“What pills were you talking about anyways?” Atsushi asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
“The birth control pills, of course!”
“The WHAT?!!”
