Chapter Text
Mindlessly Zoro stares at the register, punching in orders of passing customers. Biding his time till the end of his shift so he can go home to his cat, chopper, a little wide eyed brown Persian cat that will be the death of him. Until a large crash comes from the door. Making him turn is head up to see the commotion, not wanting to break up another fight in the cafe.
“I’m Fine!” He hears relaxing slightly, happy it wasn't a fight, his side was hurting him for his sparring match this morning.
A loud voice says laughing slightly, before sauntering up to the counter. Zoro stands there wide eyed at the most stunning man he’s ever laid his eye on. At a loss for words he blubbers like a fish out of water until he can get the words out in a quick but gruff.
“How can I help you?” The man gives him a big smile before looking up at the menu before looking a little confused.
“Uh what do you recommend?” the man looks back at Zoro.
“Well if you want something sweet, I recommend a caramel frappe, and for food. Uh probably the three-meat panini? The turkey and pesto sandwich are good too.” The boy smiles a little wider as the sun shines through the front window casting this beautiful stranger in a perfect sunglow.
“Sweet! I’ll take whatever you said!” he states happily throwing up a thumbs up before going to grab his wallet out.
It’s a cute little crocheted coin purse in the shape of a straw hat with a red stripe, ‘cute’ Zoro thinks before punching in the order for this beautiful stranger.
“That’ll be 13.50, what was the name?”
“Oh! It’s for Luffy, and here ya go!” Luffy smacks the correct amount into Zoro’s palm.
“Oh and keep the change! The scar looks super cool by the way” he laughs as he walks away from a stunned slightly blushing Zoro.

Continuing his shift Zoro watches the stranger, well now Luffy, out of the corner of his eye to prevent staring before his coworker elbows him.
“Cutie huh?” he snaps his head toward his coworker. Ussop smirks at a slightly flustered Zoro
“N-no, he just seems... cool" he musters out trying to sound normal.
“Sureeee. Whatever you say dude, haven’t seen you eyeball someone that hard before, it’s how I was with Kaya. And that worked out nicely!” Ussop says while patting Zoro’s arm as he grumbles with slight annoyance.
“I do not have a thing for that customer” he mutters crossing his arms. Before looking at the time.
“Well look at that. It’s the end of my shift. Now move.” He mutters before brushing past Ussop and heading to the back room to clock out and head home.
‘Maybe I should get something to eat, sushi and some sake, yeah that sounds good.’ He pulls out his phone walking to the front of the café, not paying attention he runs into someone.
“Oh shit sorry” he looks up from his phone making eye contact with a laughing Luffy.
“All good man just watch where you’re going. Also, those recommendations were so so so good! I’m definitely coming back, hopefully you’re here next time to give me some more recommendations! Hey idea, why don’t ya give me your number so I can have better recommendations than my buddy Sanji, his stuff is to fancy...” he pouts a little when bringing up his friend’s recommendations.
Slightly blushing Zoro hands over his phone over to Luffy “Uh sure. Here.” He mumbles out and watches as Luffy quickly types in his name and number before handing the phone back.
“Sweet! I’ll catch you next time” he waves before walking off leaving a slightly blushing stunned Zoro.
‘Did that just happen? What the..’ snapping out of it he looks back at his phone at the new contact before sending out a short message
‘hey, its Zoro from the café.’ Staring at the screen he realizes the time before quickly ordering his sushi for pick up, he can’t leave chopper home alone for to long, he has to eat.

Making it home Zoro pushes the door open two bags in his hands, one with the sushi and another with sake, he closes the door and tosses his keys to the side. Bending down to greet chopper with a pet he walks to the kitchen setting the bags on the counter before heading to his room to change.
He hears his phone buzz with a few notifications after emerging from his bedroom with a white t-shirt and green shorts.
“Who could that be?” he mutters scratching the back of his head while picking up his phone looking at the screen seeing a text notification from Ussop and then directly underneath is another but from Luffy.
Hesitating, he opens the message from Ussop first, realizing that it’s just him complaining about work and the customers, he closes out of his message and nervously opens Luffy’s
‘Hey Zoro! You have such a cool name too! It was cool meeting you today! Thanks again for the recommendations they were so good! We should hang sometime!’
Zoro smiles to himself before replying ‘yeah, it’s no problem and that sounds cool.’ He tries to keep it short and cool not wanting to look desperate.
A slight ‘meow’ breaks him out of his thoughts and he looks up seeing the bags on the counter and chopper clawing at them. He lets out a little laugh before picking up chopper and setting him on the ground before grabbing his wet food and plopping it into his bowl.
Realizing his sushi is probably getting warm he grabs his food and the sake and sits in the living room in front of the TV turning on YouTube and clicking on Bon Clay’s latest youtube video and digging in. His feet are aching from being on them all day so sitting on the couch relaxing is a huge relief. As he finishes up his dinner he checks the time realizing that it’s getting late he puts his leftovers in the fridge to shower before bed.
As he stands there in the hot water he thinks about the day, thinking about his encounters with Luffy and how upbeat and outgoing he is, he can't help but enjoy that change in demeanor. as he rubs over his side he hisses feeling a bruise that was most likely put there by his sparring partner this morning.
He grumbles and finishes rinsing off before getting out and applying some ointment to his bruise and his scars 'that bastard doesn't know how to not hit or slice me so hard' he thinks to himself cursing.
After his shower he lays down in his bed and checks his phone one last time before setting it down. Another text from Luffy, he hates to admit it but it gave him some sort of stomachache, he brushes it off before checking the message
‘Cool cool! If you’re free tomorrow meet me at Baratie at around 3? Yeah 3! My friends will also be there!’ Zoro smiles at his phone a second time this night
‘Sure, I’ll be there.’ He sends back before setting his phone down on the night stand and rolling over to go to bed cuddling with chopper.
