Chapter Text
His words were served on a platter— you refused to indulge but he didn’t stand for that. He instead force fed it to you , making you chew.
“Are you not hungry?” there was a slight twinge of frustration in his voice.
You could only nod your head in silence. You refused for a good reason.
He could only hum in ‘acceptance’.
“It’s okay! You can eat tomorrow.” glancing at you hopefully, he lifted the plate and turned on his heel.
He just didn’t know when to give up.
Day by day—you pretended to swallow only to vomit out. But you knew he wasn’t stupid. He’d of course taken notice of this.
He knew better than to just sit around and let it happen.
“I’m taking you out for dinner tonight!” He said, the corner of lips curving into a grin. You stared at him dumbfounded, your mouth agape. You had no choice but to comply.
-
He got out of the car first— walking to the opposite to offer his hand. His princely façade was aggravating. You clutched onto his hand tightly as he pulled you out.
A grand restaurant greeted you upfront, its exterior exquisite.
“You’re bringing me…here to eat..?” your voice rueful. The tremor in your voice was conspicuous. It didn’t go unheard.
“Yeah! Isn’t it beautiful?” his gaze lingered on you for far too long that it burned holes in you. Something tells you he wasn’t talking about the restaurant.
He laced his fingers in yours tenderly , searching for a table. You tried to remain your composure in order to not give anything away. Your eyes sauntered across the room, purposely averting your gaze from him. It gave you a sense of serenity, not having to look at his uncanny figure.
“Oh! To what do I owe the pleasure of seeing you two?” Your head snapped back to find your friends grinning at you. “I didn’t expect to see you and your boyfriend here. What a coincidence!” This whole ‘coincidence’ was probably planned.
“I..I didn’t expect to see you guys here either!” you couldn’t falter—not in front of your friends. “Are you guys looking for a table? Come share it with us!”
“Sure! We’d love to.” Hearing the word ‘we’ fall out of his mouth made you fume. He had no right to talk on your behalf.
Regardless , you joined your friends— your compliance seemed to appease Midori. You caught up with your friends, recalling of many moments in high school—where you all used to keep in close contact. Midori indulged in your conversation with your friends, treating it as new information about you.
Even when you weren’t looking, you could feel his sore gaze on you. It made you uncomfortable. But your friends perceived it as him being deeply infatuated with you.
His words were served on a platter again, leaving you only one choice—to eat it under your friends’ watchful gazes. You really had no choice now. He fed it to you pretending to be caring and you swallowed it hastily. You finally ate his words. And that made him pleased.
He forced more down your throat—it made you feel nauseous. The nausea made you catch breath at the chandelier above, the light seemingly only illuminating Midori. Soon enough, you could only stare at him. Your eyes were glued to him only.
