if these heights should bring my fall (let me be your own Icarian carrion)

Summary:

Riz' ode to coffee; within a caffeine withdrawal.

Work Text:

"Joy lurks in every mundane thing, just waiting to be found. Love is impervious to reason. And words are wonderful."

                                 -Anna Lyndsey

There is peace to find in mornings, secluded with you to enjoy all for mine own. A variety of mornings to be had, under the thralls of your many visages. Sepulchral peace transformed.

To plumb the depths o’ you, quickens the beat of unsteady hearts; trembles seize mine hands at the very idea.

Floral accoutrements; lavender, rose, lilac, and violet, and nutty additives richen and complexify your diaphanous liquidity.

No fair bloom are you: the more heat you take, the stronger you become.

Your rough exterior may embitter you to some, and though I must confess to preference of your sweeter sides, the coarseness of your manner would add no curl or raise to mine hair.

To be smother’d in thine offered sludge would be an honor akin to the Cob’s ‘neath his father’s scythe. If such an offer were made betwixt heathen– in the perspective of man– and an elixir of life.

Forgo the whole system collapse when the last of your essence finally leaves me, and allow me to climb new heights, supplemented in your medley of modalities, no disaster can strike when your vigorous energy supplants mine.

Feed this clamorous need within mine soul, and if– if I might succumb to the allure of sleep, the fall could be all the more sweeter.
