Chapter Text
On: Nadine Amidala Naberrie (formerly Nadine Smith)
The golden door closed behind Padmé, and I was alone for a moment, facing the mirror. My fingers traced the fabric of the red dress, incredibly heavy and ornate, while my mind swirled with questions. Am I the queen? Am I in Star Wars? This isn't a dream, is it?
My hand instinctively went to my neck, searching for my necklace—the one my mother gave me before she left. But there was nothing there. No sign of the world I came from. Only my reflection with flawless makeup, hair pinned up with golden threads, and eyes that... shone. They're the same eyes... but I'm not the same woman.
Or maybe I am. Nadine Jezabel Smith, daughter of a warrior and loving woman, unjustly taken by a cruel disease. Now, reborn as Nadine Amidala Naberrie, Queen of Naboo. I don't know how this happened, but maybe... maybe this is a second chance.

On: Padmé
"She's acting strange," I murmured to Sabé as we walked through the palace corridor.
"Strange how?"
"Like she's... forgotten who she is."
Sabé frowned. "Did she hit her head?"
"No, nothing like that. She's just... different."
Sabé didn't answer. She just quickened her pace. As one of the queen's decoy handmaidens, she knew how important it was for us to maintain appearances. The situation on Naboo was becoming increasingly tense with the Trade Federation's blockade. The queen couldn't afford to seem fragile. But at the same time, I knew my sister. And this wasn't the Nadine I knew.

On: Captain Panaka
I entered the audience chamber with a firm posture and my hand resting on the hilt of my blaster. The Queen was seated on her throne—impeccable, regal, but... there was something in her gaze. Less cold. Less strategic. There was... empathy.
"Captain Panaka," she said, and her tone was firm, yet gentle. "Inform me of the current situation with the Federation."
"Your Majesty," I began, hesitating for a second. "The blockade continues, and our supply routes are compromised. We received a communication from the Senate, but they have not yet sent aid."
The Queen clasped her hands in her lap and reflected for a few moments. "I want us to take care of the poorest regions of Theed. Divert supplies from the royal stores. No one should go hungry because of the Federation's greed."
Everyone in the room exchanged glances. This attitude was... new. But there was strength in it. Conviction. And somehow, it felt more real than ever before.

I trembled slightly as two cloaked men entered the throne room. One older, with serious eyes and an imposing presence. The other, young, perhaps only a little older than me, with intense and curious eyes.
Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
My heart leaped.
I'm literally living "The Phantom Menace."
"Your Majesty," said Qui-Gon, bowing. "I am Master Qui-Gon Jinn. This is my Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi. We were sent by the Senate to resolve the conflict with the Trade Federation."
What now? I needed to remember what happened, what would change. But as much as I had watched the movie a thousand times, I didn't know everything by heart. Still, I faced Qui-Gon and smiled.
"Welcome to Naboo, Jedi Masters. I hope we can find a... peaceful solution."
Qui-Gon raised an eyebrow. Perhaps he expected more rigidity. But I didn't want to rule as a cold queen. If fate brought me here, I would be different. I would be just.
And as I spoke with them, I noticed Obi-Wan's gaze analyzing me. Curious. Almost... suspicious.

"She's... different," I commented to my master as we left the queen's presence.
Qui-Gon glanced at me. "How so?"
"More human. Less... political. There's something about her that doesn't match the Council's reports."
My master simply nodded. "Perhaps that is a good thing."

The invasion came too quickly. As predicted, the Federation was not intimidated. They attacked Theed with droid troops. We were forced to flee. And so, I, the "Queen," Padmé disguised as one of the handmaidens, the Jedi, and some guards, escaped on the Royal Starship, heading for Coruscant.
But... the hyperdrive failed. And the next stop?
Tatooine.
Where I knew exactly who awaited us.
Anakin Skywalker.
And something in my chest tightened. If I was here... it was because something needed to change. Perhaps... I was the piece that would alter the fate of the galaxy.
