Work Text:

“It's my first time playing Go,” the stranger says with an innocent smile. He looks like a college kid. Maybe he goes to Keio? He must be a pretty leisurely student, to have time to attend games clubs on his time off, but... well, who's to judge?

It's the first Go club meeting of the season and there are plenty of newbies, this student included. For the first game, each newbie is paired with a more experienced mentor to be shown the ropes. Atsushi introduces himself to his new trainee—his name is Todomatsu, apparently, isn't that a species of tree?—and then they settle down for their first match.

Go isn't a terribly complicated game. Compared to something like shogi or mahjong, it's almost elementary, but in an elegant way. Atsushi wouldn't consider himself an expert player, but he's pretty good, not to brag or anything. He could go easy on Todomatsu and teach him a couple steps in their first few rounds, and...

And then Todomatsu mercilessly crushes him in their first game. Atsushi stares at the black-dominated board. Then he sits back and runs a hand through his hair. “I thought you said this was your first time playing Go.”

“It is!” Todomatsu says, trying and failing to hide a victorious smirk. “I just read up on some strategies beforehand. It's good to do research, right? But this is my first real game, I swear.”

This cheeky little shit... is he trying to show off to his mentor, or what? Okay, Atsushi is a little impressed. But he has his own pride, too. He smiles, polite but slightly brittle, and watches Todomatsu's grin flicker. “Is that so? Why don't we try a round two?”

“Uh...”

Round two ends with Todomatsu's brutal defeat in six minutes. Not going to lie, it's satisfying watching him sweat and grow pale as more of his pieces were captured, as the board whitened with Atsushi's stones systematically cornering Todomatsu's black side. As smug as Todomatsu looked when he won the previous game, he practically seemed ready to scream as Atsushi destroyed him decisively in the rematch. He doesn't do well under pressure, Atsushi observes dryly. What a tool.

“Aren't mentors supposed to go easy on the newbies?” Todomatsu asks weakly as they clear the board and prep for another game.

“I was. Namely, in our first game, if you recall.” Atsushi drops the last of his white pieces into his bowl. “Do you really consider yourself a newbie?”

“Yes! I'm not lying, I've never played before.” Todomatsu frowns and makes the first move. “I just read up on some strategies online. But my brothers wouldn't be interested in learning, probably.”

“Brothers?”

Todomatsu pauses, hand freezing in place over his piece. Then he puts it down with a click of stone on wood. “Brothers-in-law, I mean. You know, extended family.”

Even if that were true, couldn't he play against a friend? The question lingers on the tip of Atsushi's tongue, but he decides against asking. Okay, so there's nothing wrong with pretending to be—or actually being—a newbie, and crushing a more experienced player who underestimates you. It's cheap and sneaky, but it's not like they're playing for stakes or rank or anything. All it gave was a temporary ego boost, one that Atsushi snuffed out swiftly in the very next game. It was just... kind of pointless.

Atsushi places his stone adjacent to his opponent's. “Todomatsu-kun. Let's be honest with each other here, okay? You don't have to lie to me.”

Todomatsu's eyes widen. “Lie?”

Atsushi waves a hand. “I mean, play up being a newbie.” Was it just him, or did Todomatsu relax slightly? “If you don't have anyone to practice Go with, you're welcome here at the Go club. We don't care what experience level you are. We're just here to play.”

Todomatsu stares at him, as if skeptical. Then he smiles again. This one almost looks sincere. “I'll keep that in mind.”

“Good.” Atsushi watches his companion place his piece, then makes a retaliatory move with a grin. “Otherwise, prepare to be beaten even worse than last round.”

“No, seriously, go easy on me this time...!”

What a weird kid. But he can't help hoping that Todomatsu will continue to attend more Go clubs.

“It's my first time doing yoga,” Todomatsu says, stretching his legs out, leaning down to clasp his heels. Atsushi stares. After a moment, Todomatsu frowns, then reddens in indignation. “I'm not lying! I guess I'm naturally flexible.”

“How nice,” Atsushi says dryly. He doubts he can even touch his toes... “You attended a class?”

“Mhm, the introductory course, thanks to the trial membership you recommended me.” Todomatsu rests his cheek on his own knee, practically effortlessly. Christ. “My budget's a little tight, but I might actually enroll properly for more classes when that expires.”

“Todomatsu-kun,” Atsushi cuts him off. “You know that this room is reserved for another class soon, right?”

“Is it?”

“Yeah, it's Intermediate Karate from 9 to 10.”

“Karate? That sounds neat—”

“If it's a beginner's course, you could ask to enroll. But it's not. The point is, they'll need this room.”

Todomatsu huffs and gets up from his stretches. Atsushi holds the door open for him, but he accepts the exit without a thank you or even noticing the gesture. That guy sure acts polite at first, but just grows ruder and ruder when he gets to know someone... it's kind of hilarious, honestly.

“How do you like the gym?” Atsushi asks as they take adjacent treadmills. He punches in a pace for a 9 minute mile and pretends not to notice Todomatsu glancing over and entering the same time, then pause and adjust it to 8.5. What a competitive kid.

“I like it,” Todomatsu says while they start their run. “I already said thank you for recommending it to me, didn't I?”

“You did.”

“Then why ask?”

“Never hurts to hear it again, right?” Atsushi smirks.

Todomatsu grins sharply in response. “You're a real asshole sometimes.”

“Only sometimes?”

“What, are you disappointed?”

“No, I was just under the impression you thought even lower of me than that.”

For some reason, Todomatsu looks almost genuinely surprised. “Why? You're a well-off businessman, and I'm a... student.” He clears his throat and reaches for his water bottle. Then— “Does it matter what I think of you?”

“Good impressions are important, right?”

“Good first impressions are, maybe,” Todomatsu mutters as he cranks up his pace again. 8 minute mile. “After that... do you ever think of it as a chore? Acting nice all the time, kissing up to people higher than you?”

This might actually be the most honest question Todomatsu's ever asked him. Was he in a good mood from that yoga earlier? “How many people do you think I have as higher-ups?”

Todomatsu groans. “Are you the CEO of your company? Really?”

“No, but I am a senior executive.”

“Hah,” Todomatsu grins this time. “Senior.”

What a little punk... “I'm the youngest in my position.”

“Sure you are,” Todomatsu wipes sweat from his neck but keeps up his pace. “And? You didn't answer my question.”

“It's a pain,” Atsushi admits. “But it's how the world works. You have to wear a polite social face and play nice even if you're actually a real shithead deep inside.” He stares pointedly at Todomatsu.

“What's with that look?” Todomatsu says, feigning offense. “I'm always nice.”

“Really? Even when we first met, the first thing you tried to do was pull one over on me.”

“Maybe I could tell that you're a real shithead deep inside, like I am.”

“You said you're always nice, just now.”

“I can be both, right?”

Atsushi laughs. They're a good way done with their run—well, Todomatsu would be a little farther ahead of him. That guy always seems to have something to prove, for some reason. He's kind of a hothead sometimes, despite appearances. Then again, that's not exactly unusual for college students. They tend to want to live it up before graduating into adult life and joining the workforce for good. Atsushi can't blame them.

And sure enough, Todomatsu finishes his mile a few minutes later—he must have really ramped up his speed when Atsushi wasn’t looking—and hops off his treadmill with a huff, toweling at his neck. “Later, Atsushi-kun.” Wait a minute, -kun? Since when did he call him by that honorific? Atsushi would protest if he had the breath, and Todomatsu probably knew it. He just winks and waves cheerfully as he makes his way over to the dressing room.

That sly brat... Atsushi resolves to destroy him in the next few Go games in revenge. That'll probably have to do, for now.

“It's my first time skiing,” Todomatsu says through the muffler covering the lower half of his face. Atsushi smiles wryly.

“You've told me that already, Todomatsu-kun.”

“I'm just letting you know again. Just so you won't be surprised if I fall on my ass or crash into a tree or anything, okay?”

“I appreciate the reminder, Todomatsu-kun.”

“Well, I don't appreciate that sarcasm,” Todomatsu mutters under his breath. He tucks his scarf more tightly around his neck and, before Atsushi could offer a more smartassed reply, pushes off from the top of the hill and down the slope.

Todomatsu was a natural at yoga and slowly improving at Go. So, maybe Atsushi was a little curious how he'll do at skiing. It's the least he could do for him in return for that invitation to that mixer. Todomatsu had been moody for weeks afterwards for some reason, he's not quite sure why.

It was Atsushi's idea that they join a group ski trip sponsored by their gym. Tickets and rental equipment are 20% off with their membership, but Atsushi was able to surreptitiously pull a few strings and arrange for an extra student discount for Todomatsu, as well. Hey, he knows what it was like to be a poor student, years ago. It'd be worth it if Todomatsu cheers up and invites him out for more drinks again.

As expected, he'd perked up at the opportunity to learn skiing. Todomatsu’s the kind of person to try anything at least once, Atsushi thinks. The adventurous type, or maybe just easily bored? But he did seem to enjoy and continue Go and yoga. Skiing might be a more seasonal hobby, but it's certainly fun, too.

Todomatsu's first adventure down the bunny slope ends with him face-first in a snowdrift. Atsushi helps pull him out and retrieves the ski that had flown into the lower branches of a nearby pine tree. “I was doing just fine until the end!” Todomatsu says through a shiver, yanking off his beanie to brush away the snow that's caked on.

“You got cocky,” Atsushi says dryly. Though, it was true that Todomatsu had been doing decently until his fall.

“I slipped on ice!”

“Ice?”

“Icy... snow...” Todomatsu makes a face and pulls his hat back on. “C'mon, let's do that one again.” And he pushes off for the lift, without so much as a look back over his shoulder to check if Atsushi was following. What a prideful little shit, Atsushi thinks to himself. But, obviously, he joins Todomatsu at the lift anyway.

Even if that’s a given, he catches a brief glimpse of what could almost be surprise on Todomatsu's face as he takes the next seat over from him.

“What's with that look?” Atsushi asks.

“What look?”

... Maybe Todomatsu's pride was more injured from that fall than his body. Atsushi lets it drop. The lift carries them both high into the air, suspended over trees and jumps and fellow skiers and snowboarders below.

“Hey, Atsushi-kun.”

“Hm?”

“How good a skier are you?”

“Pretty good, I suppose.”

Todomatsu grins humorlessly. “Don't give me that bullshit modesty. You can ski the intermediate slopes, right? How about black diamonds?”

Definitely still annoyed from that fall, then. “I can ski black diamonds. Double blacks are probably beyond me, though.”

“There's such a thing as double—?” Todomatsu begins, then stops himself, looking momentarily furious at his own ignorance. And then his more polite social face slips back on like a mask. “Well, why aren't you? Skiing one of those black diamond slopes, I mean?”

Atsushi blinks. He didn't expect this line of questioning. “You don't want me with you?”

“It's not that,” Todomatsu says, then frowns at himself again. “It's probably boring for you to be on the beginner's hill with me, right?”

“I don't mind it.”

“You should. You can be having fun on the steeper slopes instead of... babysitting me.”

“I'm not babysitting you. I'm mentoring you. Like with Go, you know?”

“You kicked my ass in Go to teach me a lesson,” Todomatsu points out.

“Well, I can hardly kick your ass now that I have skis on.” Atsushi feigns a kick over the open air and sees Todomatsu fighting a grin. Sometimes, it seems like that guy over-thinks and second-guesses every single move he makes, even something as small as a smile at a friend's joke. “Would you rather not have me around? You'd be alone.”

“I'm used to doing things alone.”

Atsushi gives him a skeptical look. Todomatsu is a social guy, he knows, even if he's oddly independent at the same time. But he never really seemed to have any close friends. Probably because under that cute social face, he was just such a shithead...

“Even if you’re used to it, would you prefer to be alone?”

Todomatsu frowns, but doesn't respond. That's all the answer he needs. Atsushi might not know him as well as he'd like, but he hopes he’s getting better at reading him. From what he could tell... Todomatsu’s the type to get lonely easily. And fair-weather casual friends were better than none.

Atsushi smiles. “You don't have to be stubborn about it. Like I said, I don't mind helping you.”

A huff. “You'll laugh at me if I fall again.”

“I didn't laugh the first time. Everyone falls.”

“Even you?”

“Even me. You can laugh at me if I fall, if you want.”

“You're not going to fall on the beginners' slope, Atsushi-kun.”

“You want to bet?”

That look again—Todomatsu trying not to laugh. He looks torn between amusement and annoyance this time. “I'll be pissed off if you fall on purpose just to make me feel better.”

“Oh, I'm not falling for you.” He reconsiders his words. Then again... “Not that literally, anyway.”

It takes a moment for that response to sink in properly. “ What ?”

Atsushi smirks. The lift drops them off at the top of the hill, and Atsushi pushes off first down the slope, stopping a few seconds away and glancing over his shoulder at Todomatsu as he fumbles with his poles and fumes. “Bastard—!”

“Want to race down the hill?”

“I'm a beginner , you jackass. I'll fall!”

“Everyone falls.”

“I'll show you a fall!”

Todomatsu skis straight at him and crashes right into him before he could escape. They both tumble down the slope, dropping their poles and shedding hats and gloves in their descent. Atsushi’s the one to land face-first in a drift this time, but it’s not easy to get up when Todomatsu shoves his head further into the snow, ignoring his muffled protests. His nose is going to freeze off, damn it. This sadistic little shit...!

“There,” Todomatsu says happily. “Now we're one-for-one on falls.”

“This doesn't count!”

“Sorry, Atsushi-kun, I can't hear you~”

Christ. See if he ever does anything nice for this shithead ever again.

They're drunk. They're absolutely shitfaced and wasted beyond common sense and they're going to regret this in the morning. Or at least Todomatsu will, anyway. Atsushi might have had the odd intrusive thought before of pinning his young friend in his car, kissing him silly, undoing that stupid tie and opening that dress shirt and pulling down those ridiculous pink shorts, touching pale exposed skin and hearing Todomatsu moan his name in low notes.

You know, just the occasional idle fantasy. He's smart enough not to act on it.

He's drunk enough not to care, now.

“It's, uh,” Todomatsu's breath hitches as Atsushi sucks on what seems to be a particularly sensitive spot at his throat— “It's my first time having sex—”

Atsushi stops and stares. Todomatsu makes a needy sound as his neck is deprived of attention, but he ignores that for now. “Are you fucking me?”

A beat, then Todomatsu appears to have realized what he'd just said. “In... in a car, I mean.”

Oh. That's more understandable. There's no way a guy as flirty as Todomatsu Matsuno would be a virgin all the way into college. The way he mewls and arches his back as Atsushi touches him is practically a pornographer’s dream. “If it's cramped here, we can move to my place.”

Todomatsu's eyes, half-lidded in arousal, almost glow from reflected streetlights. “So you can fuck me?”

“That, too.”

“We can't do that here?”

“I wouldn't recommend it. I'm missing a few essentials here, shall we say?” It's not like he keeps his car stocked with lube for situations like these. But that might change in the near future, depending on how things play out after tonight.

Todomatsu appears to consider this. “Pass.”

“That's a no to my place, you mean?”

“Hey, it's my first time having car sex.” His catlike grin is almost back to its usual cockiness now, or close enough to it. That ass. “You can still make it good for me, right?”

Does this guy have to make absolutely everything some kind of challenge? Apparently so. But Atsushi was up for it.

They might not strictly be on the road, but he can still give some mean head and he intends to prove it. Oh, sometimes in his fantasies—or quite often, if he has to be honest with himself—he has to admit he'd pictured their roles reversed, with Todomatsu's smartassed mouth wrapped around his cock instead of vice versa. Maybe in the future. A guy can dream.

Yet somehow in the here and now, he finds himself with the tables turned on him in his own car, trying to seduce a college student, sucking him off while they're both too drunk off their asses to think twice. Not necessarily a bad way to pop someone’s car sex cherry, he supposes. But it's kind of lacking a certain je ne sais quoi finesse he'd rather associate with his sexual prowess. He'll blame it on the alcohol, even if he should know better.

But it's very hard to regret this turn of events with Todomatsu panting his name, his fist tangled in Atsushi's hair, with every desperate buck of his hips under Atsushi's fingertips. He has to fight his gag reflex and try not to choke as Todomatsu fucks his mouth with slightly more enthusiasm than Atsushi anticipated. Not that he's surprised that Todomatsu has sadistic tendencies. You'd have to be blind not to notice that.

He'd rather see everything. Every full-body shudder, every heave of that slim chest, of cheeks darkly flushed even in the dim streetlights. Todomatsu bites his lower lip, but little needy sounds escape him anyway whenever Atsushi does anything interesting with his tongue or takes him in deep. He'd love to tell Todomatsu not to hold back, to be as loud as he'd like, but—well, his mouth is rather occupied.

He must be better than he thought even while drunk, because it doesn't actually take long for Todomatsu to come with a breathy moan, painfully erotic. And also just painful, as he holds Atsushi's head down and practically forces him to swallow his cock and his load or risk choking, though he's pretty close to doing that already. The kid is brutal, Atsushi thinks as he struggles not to gag. But the sight of him shaking helplessly through the throes of his orgasm almost makes this sadism worth it.

Atsushi wipes a thread of cum from the side of his mouth when Todomatsu finally lets him up, breathless and panting. “You could've given me some warning,” he says, licking the pad of his finger. Waste not want not, right? He can't lie, he likes the way Todomatsu stares at his face in dumb fascination as he cleans up.

“You looked really hot when you swallowed,” Todomatsu says, rather weakly but somehow still smug at the same time. Unbelievable. Only seconds after orgasm and he's back to being a cocky shit. “Sorry.”

“You don't mean that 'sorry', you ass.”

“I do!” Todomatsu's gaze flicks down to the tent in Atsushi's trousers. “What could I do to make it up to you?”

“Oh, I have a few ideas.”

A handjob is letting him off easy, Atsushi knows, but he doesn't mind. Todomatsu looks almost uncharacteristically shy as he undoes Atsushi’s pants and frees his erection, pausing at the sight of it, wetting his lips in anticipation. His first few strokes are rather hesitant, but he appears to gain more confidence with Atsushi's moans of approval. This can't be his first time jacking someone off, right? For all his constant, irritating flirting with girls, the guy is as straight as a rainbow. There's denial, and then there's willful ignorance of the obvious. He wonders if Todomatsu would kiss him when sober, if he'd touch him like this, if he'd ever follow up on that offer back to his place...

He thrusts up against Todomatsu's hand, breathing heavily but trying not to be too vocal about how good it felt. Shit. He's had plenty of women, a few men when he was in the mood for it, but this is ridiculous. Todomatsu's cute, but he's not exactly the most gorgeous guy around. He shouldn't be a virgin, but it's clear that he has little experience even if he's trying to play it off otherwise. And his personality—

“Are you going to come anytime soon tonight, or should I have tried a footjob? Would that turn you on more?”

His personality is, without a doubt, the absolute worst. But he can't help imagining Todomatsu stepping on his dick and he groans, even more turned on despite everything. He doesn't even have to look to know that Todomatsu's smirking. “You'd like that, Atsushi-kun? What a deviant you are.”

“Blow me,” Atsushi says, and sucks in a sharp breath as Todomatsu licks a long wet stripe up his shaft. “If you can mouth off at me, you can put your mouth to better use. Just like that.”

“Like this?” Todomatsu laps delicately at the head of his cock, catlike, innocently cruel. He's close, and Todomatsu has to know it. Maybe he's not actually that inexperienced after all? Maybe he's just a damn tease?

“F-fuck, Todomatsu...”

“Maybe someday,” Todomatsu says, and strokes him to climax. He comes hard, almost embarrassingly so. Hard enough that it takes him a moment to remember to breathe and come down from that high and realize he's come all over Todomatsu's face.

Todomatsu looks torn between amusement and annoyance as he wipes at white streaks, making a face. “Couldn't have given me some warning?”

“This is a hot look for you.” He smudges a thumb across Todomatsu’s cheek, less to help clean up and more just to be an ass. Todomatsu knows it and just grins, all teeth, eyes dark and baleful. “Sorry.”

“You don't mean that 'sorry', jerk,” Todomatsu echoes him. Were there tissues or anything in his car? Atsushi reaches dazedly around the back seat and comes upon a small box for guests in the seat pocket, which he passes along to Todomatsu. But he doesn't bother to wait for him to finish or even start wiping his face off before he leans down to capture his lips in a kiss, deep and lazy. He wonders idly if Todomatsu could taste himself on his tongue.

“You're right, I don't mean it.”

Sorry is for penitents. And he can't bring himself to regret this turn of events tonight at all.

The boutique is juuust a little out of Todomatsu's price range, but he drags Atsushi in anyway. He appears to be doing that more and more often nowadays. Oh, he tries to stop short of being totally shameless about it. He pays for a good amount of his own clothes on their little shopping trips, makes a show of turning Atsushi down whenever he offers to treat him, though it's almost painfully obvious he wants to be spoiled. What’s up with him? Even after everything that's happened, sometimes Atsushi still feels like he can barely read that guy at all.

He wants to be pampered but he wants to keep his pride, too. That's fine. Sooner or later, Atsushi intends to make a bigger claim on him than just...

What were they? Go opponents, work-out partners, ski friends, fuck buddies. All of which were perfectly fine with him, but he wants more and he's 90% certain that Todomatsu does too. He's playing hard to get. The next time they go out, he may as well steal Todomatsu's wallet and buy him an entire rack of outfits from his favorite brand while he's helpless to protest and pay for himself, damn it.

Anyway, he’s definitely taking his sweet time changing today. What the hell is he doing in there? Atsushi drums his fingers idly on his arm, then glances at his watch, then mouths a quick excuse to the waiting room attendant— “My friend's in there, I'm checking on him—” and enters the dressing room when the girl idly nods him inside. He can hear Todomatsu humming a tune from the far stall and he homes in towards it. Sure, the courteous thing to do would be to knock or call out and let Todomatsu know he's coming, but where's the fun in that? And maybe he wanted to walk in on Todomatsu half-dressed and flustered, is that such a crime?

“I'm coming in,” he says as he parts the curtain and lets himself in, far too late a warning to give Todomatsu time to prepare—

And he walks right into him, half-dressed and flustered, just as he expected and hoped. What he hadn't expected was Todomatsu's outfit—thigh-high stockings, ballet flats, a flower-print skirt and a ruffled blouse only half-buttoned up his chest to reveal a glimpse of a pale pink bra over modest padded curves. A brunette bob wig sat over his black hair. Was that blush on his cheeks?

His brain grinds to a complete stop and all he could do was just stare, wide-eyed, like an idiot. Todomatsu blinks, then that cat grin quirks at his rouged lips. “Jeez, Atsushi-kun, aren't we impatient? I was going to surprise you.”

Atsushi swallows a dry throat as Todomatsu advances towards him. Is that perfume or is he going crazy now? Shit, he can barely think straight. “You were taking a while, so I got worried—”

“Worried? How thoughtful of you.” But Todomatsu doesn't protest as Atsushi slides the blouse half-off his shoulders, even tilts his head back obligingly to allow Atsushi better access to kiss the line of his neck. “But it's still rude to walk in on someone while they're changing.”

“How can I make it up to you?”

“Oh, I have a few ideas.”

Step on him with those flats. Gag him with those stockings, ride him with the skirt on and panties still half-way off one leg... wait a minute, was he wearing panties? Atsushi slips his hand up under that skirt to check, as Todomatsu makes a mock-scandalized sound. Yeah, those were definitely panties. Boyshorts, specifically—how ironic. And that was definitely a hard-on pressing up against the hem of his boyshorts and girl skirt. Atsushi strokes him through two layers of fabric and Todomatsu's moan in response is almost effortlessly feminine. Damn him for being irresistible.

“Let me guess, this is your first time crossdressing,” Atsushi says dryly as he pushes Todomatsu up against the mirror and hikes his skirt up. Christ. If they dirty these clothes, he'll have no choice but to buy them now, won't he?

Todomatsu laughs breathily, grinding back against Atsushi's erection. “Actually, it's my fifth or sixth time.”

What ? “Are you fucking me?”

“Not yet, but that's not a bad idea~”

Well, it's certainly going to be Atsushi's first time doing it with a guy in drag. Or in a dressing room. They’d have to be careful to keep their voices down and any... other sounds, certainly. But there’s an appeal to exhibitionism, isn’t there?

And he's always up for trying something new.
