EVERY ROSE HAS ITS THORN

Summary:

“You don’t fool me blondie, like you do the rest of them.” Barty called out, a fag lit in his mouth and his legs dangling dangerously.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Evan replied primly deliberately avoiding the searing eye contact looking straight through him.

Crouch leaned forward eyes lidded and strangely his breath caught in some kind of anticipation, before the changing song caught his attention and he turned his sharp jaw away.

“You love it don’t you.” Evan referenced as a deep voice sang out of their radio.

Crouch let out a loud cackle jagged and hyena like. “And there’s crazy in you Rosie and you’d love it as well if you let go of that facade…”

With a salute in his direction he turned away to the dance floor and under the blinding light he couldn’t stop the compulsion to follow.

In the summer of 1981’ after the death of his mother Evan is sent from France to stay with his Great Aunt Vinda Rosier. Angry and grief stricken he is surprised when he befriends his strange and eccentric neighbor along with his group of friends. Including a boy who stares at him with a look of trouble that could have only been sent by the devil and with angelic voice drawing him in.

Notes:

I should not be starting another fic trust me but I am and this has taken over my mind and so I have to put it out!

Chapter 1: PROLOGUE: A SKEETER SPECIAL

Chapter Text

THE DEATH EATERS - A GLOBAL SENSATION OR TRIVIAL TROUBLEMAKERS?

By Rita Skeeter - 15th May 2005

Two decades ago, a band of local London boys took over the music scene with their unique sound and killer stage presence. Aristocratic, handsome, talented. They defined an era of a new kind of artist, one existing not only in that sphere but extending culturally far beyond it. The group of friends who began playing together at the cusp of adulthood, showcased a new kind of chemistry that has been attempted to be replicated since.

Of course we have seen other stand out groups or hit making bands but in the words of manager Lucius Malfoy of Malfoy Company & Co. “They had something special. The first time I saw them filling in for a group that had dropped out as the opening act in Blakelys (This my eagle eyed reader was an infamous speakeasy where the young elite frequented back in the day) I got goosebumps. I knew I had to sign them. Of course they didn't make it easy.” It turned out to be a profitable investment taking them on and something Lord Malfoy has gone on to replicate in both the Business and Music world in his father’s footsteps. (See Page 7 to see how he’s leading a new girlgroup Dark Magic to success)

Scandalous and troubled the four broke through barriers transforming their artistic direction and expectations at every turn. The expanse of rumors so great they gained an equal infamy that has only seemed to increase in the last few decades among younger listeners. “No they’re incredible, I love the grit and deepeness in their voices and their lyrics in particular. Plus I mean they were so hot.” A direct quote from Pansy Parkinson, Head of the online Deatheaters fan club. (See page 3 to dive further into the drama between rival fan clubs and whether you should be worried if your son or daughter is in one)

Now it's been officially a decade since the band went on hiatus in which time we have seen numerous marriages, divorces, hospital visits, one awkward encounter with the Queen of England and many rumors about when they are getting back together. However the rumors about their return have never stopped even as the members have stayed in this recent year particularly tight-lipped and out of the limelight, a shocking difference to the juvenile antics and loud protest that had been an unwelcome addition to their presence on tour. Including fights, skimpily dressed groupies and accusation of wild drug use. In all the chaos that followed can we truly call The Death Eater a global sensation yet to be emulated or trivial troublemakers we are glad to see the back of?

ITS OFFICIAL - THE BANDS GETTING BACK TOGETHER OR IS IT?

By Rita Skeeter - 21st August 2005

A decade since their hiatus. An official statement has been released by lead guitarist and now more commonly known by his artist name R.A.B, Regulus Black. Detailing that recent issues have been resolved and all four members will return to go on a global world tour the likes of which will have never been seen before. A spokesperson on humanitarian issues and a great patron to the arts, he was spotted outside his home in Kensington alongside his brother Lord Black or Sirius Black as he prefers to be known (See page four to see Captain Black lift the premier league trophy) as well as teammate, close personal friend and super star striker James Potter. When questioned about why they were joining back together he had this to say “We feel that we have not finished on our journey as a group, of course we had time apart but that has only helped us grow and become stronger artists and better people. We are excited to share not only this tour but in recent months a new project we have been working on.”

Dear readers, does this suggest a new album, the trilogy collection has awarded them a multitude of accolades so what else do they have to say? Will the album shed light on their breakup or the multitude of rumors particularly swirling between the lead singer and his counterpart, who wrote the bulk of the Death-Eaters songs together.

The new Head of Salazar records, young Italian socialite Blaise Zabini, taking over from the previous infamous Mr.Riddle or Lord Voldemort as he was known in the industry (Read page 2 about the allegations of abuse and misconduct he is facing in court later next year) has spoke out to show his label’s support. “We were so glad to facilitate their revival. Unlike my predecessor we are giving everything we can to help give this group what it needs to be successful and we are proud of the rich history this company and the band has together and all we can say is we are glad they are back!”

Barty Crouch jr. the lead singer, superstar and known recluse in the last few years after a stint in a facility (See page 5 as a psychologist analyses his behavior and whether he is mentally stable to go on tour) has been remarkably silent about the news. Hopefully that means he’s writing hit songs in the studio but perhaps he is on another downward spiral. What would that mean for the band and when can we expect word from our favorite bad boy?

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW - BARTY CROUCH BACK IN THE STUDIO

By Rita Skeeter - 1st September 2005

Dear Readers, thanks to my fabulous contact I have managed to procure a written interview with Barty Crouch jr. who detailed his thoughts on the band's relationship, his opinion on public criticism about his behavior and the type of music they plan to make. I entered a small office in Salazar studios where the man himself was lounging against a dark green sofa alone stringing lightly an electric guitar. Noticing my presence he waved me in to sit opposite with a blinding grin and trademark black leather jacket.

Skeeter: How are you doing today?

Crouch: Good, good I was just thinking about Christmas

Skeeter: Christmas?

Crouch: (Laughs) Hmm…yes as soon as summer is over I can't wait. I hope it will snow this year.

Skeeter: Oh well yes I suppose. Anyway I have to ask, has it been strange bringing the band back together.

Crouch: No I mean on the whole we have stayed in contact so it's mainly been strange getting back into the swing of things.

Skeeter: Your career has continued to be extremely successful as a solo artist so do you think that your music here will change the band's sound? (See page 10 to see the ranking of Crouch’s albums and hits including his solo work and his duo ep with Lily Evans with hits like The River and Regret Me. See page 5 to see the debate about the current relationship between the pair)

Crouch: The Band has always been unique and in the few sessions we have had that's not changed.

Skeeter: Yes of course. Now there have been numerous rumors about a fallout with Mr. Rosier has that disrupted the writing process.

(Crouch got up to get a drink, a glass of water, offering me one before sitting back down to answer the question.)

Crouch: Whatever issues we may have had in the past it's never disrupted me creating music and I’m excited for what we can give the fans.

Skeeter: Now I have to ask about the status of the album and upcoming tour

Crouch: Don't worry it will be here even sooner than expected…TO SEE THE REST OF THIS INTERVIEW SUBSCRIBE TO OUR EXCLUSIVE PLAN AND PAY AN EXTRA £150 A YEAR or £21 A MONTH
