Summary:

Notes:

This is the second fic in the two-part series that began with "through constant pained disgrace." It picks up right where the first one ended. While the first story was focused on Jiang Cheng, Jin Ling and Wei Wuxian, this one centers on Lan Xichen and Jiang Cheng (though the other characters do make appearances). The story is already fully written, so you can expect quick updates.
COTNENT WARNING:
Like the previous fic, this one continues to explore the aftermath of rape and long-term sexual abuse/coerced sex on Jiang Cheng. It is not very explicit, but there are more specifics about what happened to Jiang Cheng in this one. While the story is much more focussed on healing and recovery, be aware that there is also some weapons-grade angst and trauma in here. Once again, I will not be giving chapter-specific warnings, so please heed the tags and take care of yourselves.
Note about the prologue:
This chapter is kind of unique because it entirely comprises of letters. I used a variety of fonts which I thought were legible, but one of my readers said it was hard to read/gave them a headache.
