Chapter Text
"Hurry it up, I don't have all day."
And with that, his students begin their training without having to be told twice. Levi watches over them all, carefully critiquing each of their moves and how to improve on them.
It's almost like second nature to him. He fixes an elbow here, pushes down someone's leg there, blocks an expected attack from Sasha who loves to try to think she's smart enough to sneak up on Levi despite knowing very that her shoes always make a specific noise that Levi has grown used to hearing behind him very frequently.
"Try harder next time." He says plainly, just as always, and Sasha only whines in response, just as always.
The training session goes as usual with Connie and Sasha arguing about who's srongest between the both of them; Marco taking down Jean with ease because the damn boy just can't stop being a damn puppy towards him and of course, Mikasa and Annie being the last ones standing.
Annie gets into stance and it's like the entire world goes dead silent between them. Everyone's watching now as the two stare each other down, daring one another to start first. Levi crosses his arms and watches from the corner, not bothering to intervene despite how he knows Armin will get too anxious and beg for him to step in.
Mikasa gets into position and the whole class silently starts placing their bets. Levi doesn't bother to join in.
Then, the door is being swung open. And just like that, all the excitement bursts like a balloon.
"Leviii!" Hange calls out with a bright grin as she scans the room, her glasses gleaming against the bright lights which just further makes her look like the maniac she is.
Behind her stands Erwin looking like he had been forced to join her, of course...
Levi pinches the bridge of his nose and lets out a quietly disappointed sigh. "What do you want, four eyes? I'm busy here."
Hange only rolls hers eyes and plonks herself right next to Levi, right in his personal space. Everyone watches them and all Levi needs to do is glare and everyone is suddenly busy with their business. As they should've been in the first place, damn bastards...
"You've got a new student comin' soon." Hange finally speaks up, pulling out an apple from God knows where and takes a rather loud crunchy bite. Levi shifts an inch further away from her.
"New student?"
"A childhood friend of Armin and Mikasa's." Erwin mentions, glancing at the two he had just mentioned who meet his gaze and give a respectful nod. Erwin nods in return before focusing back on Levi, "I was told his name is Eren Yeager."
"Eren Yeager, huh?" Levi murmurs under his breath. "Is he any good or am I dealing with a blindy here?"
Both Hange and Erwin respond with a shrug and Levi sighs yet again. Of course they don't know, such useless idiots sometimes...
He then turns to Armin and Mikasa. "You two, your friend's coming to join. He's got any experience?"
Mikasa and Armin share a look that Levi doesn't bother to decipher before Armin speaks up first. "Uh, yeah. Eren's relatively good at fighting. Better than me at least."
"I see-"
"He's reckless." Mikasa quickly butts in, "He gets really angry quite fast when he's not winning."
There it is. Levi's eyes glint at this new bit of information. So he's going to be dealing with a crybaby, just great...
He gives a nod to the duo before turning back to Erwin and Hange who are quietly discussing something he doesn't bother to ask about.
"When's he coming in?"
Hange takes her final bite of her apple before handing it to Erwin who just frowns in response. "Two days from now."
Levi gives a short nod in response and the conversation ends there as the duo return to their own weird topics.
Two days, huh?
