Chapter Text
Everything feels wrong. It has since he was five. Whenever he interacts with people it feels wrong. The way people look, their expressions, their reactions, their movements, it all feels wrong. Nothing looks wrong, Izuku doesn't even understand what's wrong with it all.
Sometimes the shape of his bookshelf twists and warps, same with his desk at school.
Once Izuku was 8 he came to the conclusion that he probably has schizophrenia.
When Izuku turned 10, Inko took him to the doctor to see if actually did have schizophrenia. Izuku is not schizophrenic.

Mom's eyes keep turning different colours, but not at the same time. It's like there's a filter over her eyes that give them a tint sometimes.

August 18th
The calendar dates are all wrong. I pointed it out to the teacher and she said they were fine. Everybody laughed at me. I hate them all. Kacchan likes to call me a maniac. I'm not crazy, why does everyone think I'm crazy? Even Mom thinks I'm crazy. She's never say it, but whenever I tell her about the things I see she gets this weird look in her eye, it's like she's looking at an alien. She looks scared.
Kacchan gets the same look in his eye whenever he sees me looking at things that aren't there according to him. He looks scared too.

Everyday, everybody gives off the same weird vibe. Each day, one object looks wrong. The next day? Something related to that object happens. Nobody would believe Izuku, at first Inko did, thinking maybe he was misdiagnosed as quirkless. Eventually when she got him tested for schizophrenia, she secretly asked the doctor to re-check his quirk status. Still quirkless, not schizophrenic. Izuku kept saying he was seeing these things, everyday it was something new. "The Tv has arms!" he would say, or "the stove is bright pink...". Inko thought just ignoring when he said those things would get him to stop. If he's not hallucinating then he's clearly just looking for attention. Izuku did complain to her less after she started ignore his complaints, but they never stopped. Not even after 4 years.

"Do you have what I asked for?"
A male voice spoke, the speaker wearing a maroon hoodie.
"Of course I have your order, what type of a broker would I be if I didn't?"
Another person stepped out of the shadow, a dark flowy skirt swung around their ankles, dusting the ground gently.
"A bad broker, that's what you'd be." The person in the maroon hoodie joked.
The "broker" dug though their backpack, grasping a small device that vaguely resembled large metal handcuffs.
The other person stepped closer to the "broker", handing them an envelope and gingerly taking the device.
"I didn't think you'd be able to get this for me, I'll admit, I underestimated you."
"First rule of life in the shadows, never underestimate anybody. You're new around here aren't you?" The "broker"'s warning sent shivers down the other's spine at the implication, she could have killed him right here and now, and he would have never expected it, couldn't she.
"Yeah, I am pretty new. Thanks for the advice and this." He held up the device, a genuine look of thanks evident in his eyes, nervous smile hidden behind a blue medical mask.

Not everybody has this weird aura to them. Reina didn't have it. She was nice, and interesting. Izuku met Reina at a tack meet
Liar.
Reina is aiming to go to the support course at UA, but she might end up in the support course of another hero school. Her inventions are amazing, she can do so much more than anyone could ever expect.

UA entrance exams are hard, especially if you have to do them twice because you ruined the first one.
Reina taught Izuku some stuff about coding and hacking, so when the entrance exam was to fight robots, what was Izuku supposed to do? Turns out you're not supposed to turn off all the robots in the exam in one fail swoop. A day later the entrance exam was scheduled to happen again, which it did.

Did you know that the acceptance letter from UA is in hologram form? Izuku theorized that they did this to show off the advancement and riches of UA, like a subtle threat to villains and potential traitors alike. Reina thought the holograms were a weird way to show off. Reina taught Izuku how to make the holograms, she got into UA too.

When Izuku started his first day at UA he already knew Bakugou would be in his class, before he even entered the building he knew. Everybody had this aura that always felt wrong, like a threat, but everybody had their own aura, they were all different. What Izuku felt wasn't exactly an aura, but there was no other way to describe it, it was like an aesthetic too, but not exactly. Kacchan's was big, spiky, orange, red and black. Izuku couldn't see these "auras", but he could feel them and imagine what they would be like.
When Izuku entered the door he was immediately met by a robotic like hand in his face, the hand attached to a boy much taller than himself, with blue hair and square glasses, an overtly dramatic and stoic expression on his face.
"Hello, it is wonderful to meet you! My name is Ilda Tenya! I hope we will get along!" The boy, Ilda, was loud, his voice just as stiff and robotic as his posture.
"U-uh, hi. It's nice to meet you t-too. My name is Izuku Midoriya, i-I hope w-we get along too." Izuku's meek voice seemed to be like the voice of prey in a den of hungry lions, everybody else in the room froze, slowly turning their heads to Izuku, their bodies staying put. Their eyes were that of holes, hollow and lifeless. Each person had some sort of injury correlated to what he assumed their quirks were. A purple girl with headphone jacks on her earlobes had blood rushing from her ears at such a frivolous speed it seemed impossible. A boy with a head that looked like rock had what looked like animal bites covering him and scratches around his eyes and cheeks. And then there was Kacchan, sitting there, just sitting there, looking fine, scrolling on his phone with his feet up on the desk in front of him.
"Are you alright? You suddenly froze, if you are unable to retain a simple conversation then I suggest you drop out of the hero course!" Tenya's voice snapped Izuku out of his hallucination, as well as snapped everyone else out of their conversations and watching Ticktoks.
"Dude, that's super mean." A boy with bright red hair spoke.
