Hi! While studying (procrastinating) for my tort final last semester, I wrote these hypos. Please take my legal analysis with a grain of salt, it could range from mildly incorrect to wildly inaccurate. Just thought these were fun to share with you all (: No legal knowledge needed to read. May add to this in the future, we'll see.

Chapter 1: Fault

Fault must be established for there to be liability.

Xie Lian is walking along one day, minding his own business. He trips and falls over nothing, rolls down a hill, and lands in an anthill. The ants swarm all over his clothes. Xie Lian starts flailing around, trying to bat them off, and he falls down another hill, this one much steeper. He knocks over an entire group of people traveling on the road below as he tumbles off the hill. He causes some degree of injury to each. They want to sue Xie Lian for battery. However, they will not be able to recover for battery, because Xie Lian’s act was not intentional or negligent, so he had no fault.
