Chapter Text
The first year of Hogwarts wasn't as entertaining as Severus thought it could be.
Of course, he loved learning about magic after his father had banned magic from their house-hold all together but he thought his life at Hogwarts would be more...exciting.
So as any 11 year old child would do, he decided to break the rules and enter the Forbidden Forest at night without any supervision just because he was bored. Sure, he may be risking expulsion, but no one will know! (Hopefully.)
So here he was, in the Forbidden Forest, under a full moon just cause he wanted to see what the whole fuss was about. Severus was able to go deep enough to see many creatures he had only heard about in fairytales. Lily would love this place! Severus should tell her all about it after this. She would be thrilled.
As Severus travelled in deeper, he heard a howl. Curious, he decided to follow the sound. He thought it might be a wolf. Or better yet, a werewolf! Severus had always been interested in werewolves so if he could see one, that would be a dream come true. Severus continued to follow the howls of the unknown creature, only to be met with a huge figure looming above him, ready to hurt him.
Severus's breath hitched as he was suddenly frozen in place and did not know what to do. In the distance, Severus could make out the figure of Professor McGonagall, yelling at him to step back, asking why Severus was here in the first place. When Severus was finally able to make sense about what was going on, he ran up to Professor McGonagall.
"I can help!" Severus shouted, rummaging through his bag to find the thing he brought.
You see, when Severus said he was highly interested in werewolves, he meant it. He had spent his few months at Hogwarts researching werewolves and how they came to be, all the while brewing a potion to help counter the effects of a full moon. He had made the potion in hopes of finding a werewolf one day, hence why he has it constantly on him.
"Don't be ridiculous, boy! This creature is very dangerous!" Professor McGonagall yelled out as Severus ran straight to the werewolf. "MR. SNAPE!"
Severus was then suddenly picked up by the werewolf, the werewolf inspecting him before opening its mouth. Seeing no other chance, Severus quickly popped open the vial and poured the contents into the wolfs mouth.
At first, nothing seemed to be happening. Until the werewolf suddenly dropped Severus and passed out. The dust cleared an it revealed a boy of Severus's age. Severus knew this boy. Lily had mentioned him a lot and Severus was pretty sure they had met in the train compartment when they were on their way to Hogwarts.
Remus Lupin, wasn't it?
Severus observed the unconscious boy, poking the boy's cheek gently. When the boy suddenly shot up, Severus got startled and they both locked eyes.
Remus was suddenly acutely aware of the fact that he wasn't a werewolf anymore. That's odd. This time was quicker than usual.
But then he felt the presence of another other than Professor McGonagall and he immediately shot up, locking eyes with a beautiful pair of Onyx eyes.
Those pair of beautiful eyes belonged to a boy his age, one that Remus had seen around the school. The boy was shorter than most the boys their age, he had long, black hair that stopped at his shoulders, eyes as dark as a black and pale skin that contrasted with his dark features. Remus was then silently reminded that he had met this boy on the train and he had been the talk of the school after being dubbed the first year's "Potions Prodigy' alongside his friend, Lily Evans.
Remus couldn't care much about that, though. All he wanted to know is why such a pretty boy was here, looking so startled and why Remus's eyes were beating so incredibly fast at the sight of the boy. Oh, and also, did he see that Remus was a werewolf? Please god, no. He desperately did not want this boy to be afraid of him. He wouldn't forgive himself if such a pretty boy was scared of him.
"Are you alright...?" The boy asked softly.
Ah. His voice was also cute.
And he looked so worried.
"Um...your face is red..." Was it? Remus silently wondered.
Oh well.
At least he can die peacefully after seeing such a pretty sight.
"MR. LUPIN!!" Was the last thing he heard before passing out.
