Chapter Text
Riiiiing!!!!
The sweet, sweet sound of the final bell echoed through the halls.
Thanos and Nam-gyu didn't plan on leaving anytime soon though, unfortunately. Nam-gyu was forcing Thanos to study with him for an exam in an art class Nam-gyu persuaded Thanos into taking with him.
Thanos watched enviously as other classmates departed, leaving him, Nam-gyu, three other students, and the teacher behind.
The time was 2:22 PM. The teacher, Ms. Han was scheduled to leave at 3:00. Lucky them, they planned on staying longer, to study or fool around like middle schoolers.
"Do we really have to stay?" Thanos whined leaning back into his chair next to Nam-gyu's.
"Yes, Su-bong, you don't wanna fail this, do you? We're seniors now, we have to be responsible." Thanos sighed. Smart-ass.
"I'll fail anyway." Thanos replied. Nam-gyu rolled his eyes.
Honestly, they both didn't care if they failed. Nam-gyu just wanted to spend more time with Thanos.
They obviously could've just hung out at Thanos or Nam-gyu's place, but they both had annoying-ass siblings that wouldn't let them get an ounce of fun in.
Nam-gyu has had a crush on Thanos for five months. Things were going smoothly for two months until Ho-sook came into the picture against Nam-gyu's will. Ho-sook was Thanos's girlfriend of three months. Nam-gyu wanted to find the nearest pair of scissors and cut her out of that picture.
When Nam-gyu found out they started dating, he tried not to break down in tears in front on Thanos. He noticed she clearly wasn't right for him, and that wasn't just a jealousy thing, she treated Thanos like absolute shit. She was just a whore using Thanos for his good looks and popularity as a rapper. Nam-gyu knew he could treat Thanos far better.
Nam-gyu also knew something Thanos didn't. Nam-gyu had a picture somewhere buried in his camera roll of a text chain between Ho-sook and Mun Jahoon, a more popular kid at school. They were sexting, shamelessly. He was too scared to show Thanos, scared that he would accuse Nam-gyu of editing the photo. He turned to isolating himself from people other than Thanos and eventually started self-harming.
Nam-gyu was openly gay, he wasn't ashamed of it. He shouldn't be. But since most were mature now, except for them of course, no one really cared. In fact, when he came out to Thanos, he had the audacity to say "I know." He should've been less obvious.
Speaking of being obvious, it was so obvious that Nam-gyu had a crush on Thanos. He was always hanging off his shoulder or hugging him, always finding a way to touch the other. Thanos thought Nam-gyu was just a touchy, clingy little thing. That was true, although Nam-gyu clung to him for an entirely different reason. Thanos was just oblivious.
Thanos liked boys, girls, and everyone in between. As long as they treated him right (apparently not because...come on. Ho-sook once genuinely told Thanos to try and jump off that bridge again). Thanos always thought Nam-gyu was...cute. He liked his glasses and sweater hand things. He once heard Se-mi, their friend, refer to them as sweater paws. Thanos thought it was adorable. He would never admit that to anyone, especially Nam-gyu, though. He didn't have a crush on Nam-gyu, but whatever this feeling was, he hoped everyone could experience it.
Thanos knew Ho-sook didn't love him anymore. Hell, she might not even like him. Thanos stopped liking her after a while, aswell. He was planning on leaving her soon. He wanted ask Nam-gyu for advice, but he came to the conclusion that he was just as bad at it as he was, so he decided against it. Although, it would be amusing, seeing Nam-gyu come up with insane breakup plans.
The two sat comfortably next to eachother, "studying". Mostly messing around. The time was 2:56. All the other students had left by now, leaving them alone with Ms. Han who eventually spoke up about their behavior.
"Are you two staying after just to mess around?" She asked them, capping a marker after updating her calendar.
"N-no, miss." Nam-gyu bowed his head slightly, making it look like they were writing something on a blank sheet of paper. Nam-gyu quietly giggled to himself.
"It's time for me to go. I'm gonna go grab my mail. When I come back up, you two better be gone." Ms. Han threatened, as she headed out the door.
"Shit, man!" Thanos started when he heard her footsteps getting farther away as she headed down the stairs. They were on the second floor, so she would be back up pretty quick. "We gotta hide!"
"Why the hell do we need to hide?" Nam-gyu questioned, looking at him, their arms brushing.
"You don't wanna study in the library, do you?" Thanos said, smirking.
Nam-gyu's eyes widened as he realized. Thanos was insane.
They made a plan. They would hide in a big cabinet and wait for the sound of the door shutting to get out. They would finally be left alone in the classroom, and they could leave whenever they wanted! It was perfect!
They grabbed all their belongings and stuffed them in the cabinet above their hiding spot. Thanos shut the small doors, blocking their bookbags from falling out.
"Dude, when you open that later, all that shit's gonna fall on you, you know?" Nam-gyu whispered, chuckling.
"I'll dodge it, dude. I used to play basketball." Thanos remarked as he opened the doors to the bigger cabinet.
Thanos was the first to step in. Thanos was pretty tall, so he crouched slightly, standing on a few boxes, crushing them.
"We're gonna destroy Ms. Han's stuff! All this just to get a few hours in a classroom?" Nam-gyu stepped on the boxes, in front of his friend.
"It was your idea to stay after and study." Thanos flashed Nam-gyu a toothy grin. Nam-gyu rolled his eyes as he stabilized himself inside the cabinet.
Their bodies were pressed up against eachother's. Nam-gyu felt as though he were going to die. He hoped to god that Thanos couldn't feel his heartbeat through his hoodie.
"Shhh" Thanos warned, pressing a finger to Nam-gyu's lips, maintaining eye contact as he shut the door, leaving them shrouded in darkness. Nam-gyu shivered against Thanos's body.
"Forgot you're scared of the dark." Thanos whispered. Suddenly, they heard the familiar click of high heels as Ms. Han entered the room.
Nam-gyu's breathing got heavier. His fear of the dark mixed with the fear of being caught my Ms. Han was already almost unbearable. But with Thanos's warm torso against his, it made the feelings more intense. Nam-gyu felt Thanos's head shift down to look at him. Nam-gyu raised his head, meeting Thanos's gaze. Even in the dark, Nam-gyu could still notice Thanos's beautiful features.
Thanos looked down at Nam-gyu, and holy shit.
God, he's so fucking pretty.
Thanos's eyes slightly widened at his own thought. What the hell?
He decided to ignore it. For now, at least.
That was until Nam-gyu slightly lost his balance, causing a quiet sound from the boxes below them. Thanos instinctively wrapped his arms around Nam-gyu, keeping him upright. The sound of Ms. Han rummaging through her huge purse paused.
"Fuck." Nam-gyu breathed his favorite curse under his breath. Thanos inhaled sharply. He squeezed Nam-gyu tighter as Nam-gyu clung onto his t-shirt. He debated pressing his head against Thanos's chest, but he thought it wasn't neccessary, although he wanted to do it so bad. Wanted to inhale Thanos's scent, wanted to-
The door shut. Success! Ms. Han was gone!
"Hey." Thanos beckoned for Nam-gyu to look back up at him. Nam-gyu complied.
"Su-bong. Let's get out of here." Nam-gyu breathed, stilling grasping Thanos's shirt for dear life. Anything to see light again. And Thanos's face clearly.
Thanos, still with one hand wrapped around Nam-gyu, pushed the door open. Much to Nam-gyu's dismay, the lights in the classroom were off aswell. Although light seeped through the windows, the blinds were shut.
Thanos sighed as he stepped out of the cabinet first, jogging towards the light switch and brightening the room.
Nam-gyu smiled as he followed Thanos out, the sensation of Thanos's touch still lingering on his own body. He adjusted his glasses. Thanos's eyes tracked the movement, hypnotizing him for a split second before snapping out of it.
Nam-gyu, forgetting how poor of a job Thanos did, opened the cabinet above their hiding spot, the contents of it falling directly on Nam-gyu's face.
Nam-gyu fell to the floor, landing on his ass with a grunt. A second bookbag hit his shoulder, causing him to groan in pain. Thanos was dying of laughter, walking over to him.
"Dude!" Thanos laughed in English, helping Nam-gyu to his feet.
"Shut up!" Nam-gyu snapped in Thanos's face.
Thanos was still laughing until Nam-gyu took off his glasses, wiping them on his shirt before sliding them back on. Shit. Thanos watched in horror as Nam-gyu moved his left hand to his right hand. Thanos's eyes snapped to the movement as he pulled his sleeves over his wrist, meeting the bottom of his fingers.
Thanos smirked as he looked at Nam-gyu. His hoodie was slightly wrinkled from the impact, his hair sticking up in places.
"Here," Thanos started, placing a hand on Nam-gyu's head, smoothening his raven black hair. Nam-gyu looked up at Thanos and holy shit. "All better."
He was still smirking as he gazed into Nam-gyu's dark eyes, moving his hand. He bent down, picking up what fell out of the cabinet. Nam-gyu quickly snapped back to reality, crouching down to help Thanos.
"Thanks." Nam-gyu muttered under his breath as he slung his backpack over his shoulder, walking back to his desk.
Thanos took his seat beside Nam-gyu as he pulled out the papers they needed.
"So, where did we leave off?" Thanos asked, grabbing a bag of chips from his stuffed backpack.
--
It's been thirty minutes. They were still studying. Though if you replaced the letters t, u, d, and y with, l, e, e, and p, you'd get what Thanos was doing. Sleeping. Or at least trying to. Nam-gyu was shaking him violently.
"Dude. Su-bong, come on." Nam-gyu complained, shaking Thanos harder. His cross necklace that held those magical pills clanged against the desk as Thanos sat upright, groaning.
"I'm booored." Thanos whined mockingly. Nam-gyu rolled his eyes.
"Fine. Then let's take a break." Nam-gyu suggested as Thanos smiled and nodded his head frantically.
"What should we do?" Thanos asked, scooting slightly closer to Nam-gyu.
I don't know. Make out.
Nam-gyu slightly scoffed at his quick mind. Jeeez.
Nam-gyu didn't answer. He just stared at Thanos, lost in thought. By now, Thanos had his head turned away from Nam-gyu's gaze, gathering his papers together.
Since it was winter, the sun was setting way earlier. The little orange light that shone through the blinds reflected off of Thanos's purple hair. Nam-gyu wanted to know what it felt like to run his hands through that hair. His eyes moved to his jawline, sharp and defined. Nam-gyu sighed contently. His eyes shifted slightly to the right, setting on Thanos's pink lips. Nam-gyu's tongue quickly darted out to wet his own. He would give anything to feel those lips pressed against his. It was when Nam-gyu's dark eyes met Thanos's blue eys that he realized he was watching him stare. Oh, shit!
Nam-gyu quickly looked away, seeing Thanos smirk out of his peripheral vision.
He was fucked. Metaphorically, unfortunately.
Thanos watched intently as he saw a light shade of red paint Nam-gyu's cheeks. Watched Nam-gyu's halfway covered hand move to push a strand of hair behind his ear, black nails meeting black hair.
"Nam-su." Thanos beckoned in a sing-songy tone. Nam-gyu sighed, rolling his eyes as he turned his head.
"It's Nam-GYU. We've been friends forever, come on, man." Nam-gyu complained.
"Sorry. You were staring again." Thanos chuckled.
Oh, fuck.
"No I wasn't." Nam-gyu's brain told his mouth that denying it was the best option.
"You totally were." Thanos squinted at Nam-gyu, still fucking smirking. "It's becuase I'm soo handsome isn't it?"
"Yes." Nam-gyu muttered under his breath, turning around so that his back was facing Thanos. He snapped his eyes shut as he realized he said that out loud. Shit, shit, shit.
"What did you say, my boy?" Thanos said quietly, finishing the sentence off in English. He leaned in, his head slightly peeking over Nam-gyu's shoulder.
"I said fuck off." Nam-gyu retorted, side-eyeing Thanos.
Thanos started smiling again. "I don't think that's what you said."
Nam-gyu shivered at the feeling of hot breath against his neck. He fully turned around, facing his crush.
"I have a girlfriend bro, calm down." Thanos joked. Nam-gyu wasn't having it.
Nam-gyu buried his red face in his hands as his elbows rested against his desk. "Oh my god. You're a fucking dumbass."
"Dude, what's wrong with you?" Thanos was suddenly defensive. "I love her, and nothing can change that." He lied.
Nam-gyu suddenly slammed his hands down on the desk, snapping his head towards Thanos. "Do you, now? Remember last night? You were complaining about how much you hated her. Now you're saying you love her? Make up your fucking mind, man!"
Thanos was taken aback by Nam-gyu's sudden change in mood.
"I-.." Thanos started, not knowing what to say. He couldn't bring himself to meet Nam-gyu's furious gaze. "I don't know."
"Don't know what?" Nam-gyu scoffed.
"Who I like!"
A beat of silence.
"What do you mean by that?" Nam-gyu spoke quietly.
"I didn't mean for it to come out like that." Thanos quickly saved himself. "I don't know if I like her or not."
"Exactly. So why not just break up with her?" Nam-gyu suggested, calming down slightly. Key word, slightly.
Thanos just shook his head.
Nam-gyu thought it was time.
He pulled out his phone, unlocking it and opening his camera roll. His heart pounded in his chest. Thanos looked at him, confusion written on his face as Nam-gyu clicked on a photo.
He turned his phone to Thanos, not making eye contact. Thanos took the phone.
Thanos didn't believe it. A screenshot of a chain of messages between Ho-sook and Mun Jahoon. All of the messages were very sexual.
"What the fu-..no..this is..what?" Thanos couldn't find the right words to say.
"She's cheating on you." Nam-gyu eventually whispered.
"This is edited." It was Thanos's turn to be angry now. Nam-gyu sighed. Exactly what he was afraid of.
"No, it isn-"
"You've always been jealous of Ho-sook." Thanos interrupted Nam-gyu. Nam-gyu turned to face him with a small "huh?"
"Don't 'huh?' me! You know exactly what I'm talking about! You've always been jealous of her, and you know it!" Thanos was trying not to break out into tears. Nam-gyu stood up. He couldn't take this anymore. He had to leave before he said something stupid.
"Don't you fucking dare walk away from me!" Thanos exclaimed as he stood up and ran after Nam-gyu who was halfway to the door. Nam-gyu turned around.
"Or what? You clearly don't want me to stay anyway." Nam-gyu's voice broke.
Thanos suddenly grabbed Nam-gyu's shoulders, phone still in hand.
"Nam-gyu." Thanos said firmly, staring into Nam-gyu's eyes intensely. He moved the hand holding the phone in front of Nam-gyu's face, the text chain still pulled up. "Is this real?"
Nam-gyu looked down and nodded. He expected Thanos to yell at him again, accuse him of lying again. He started to tear up.
Instead he just heard Thanos sigh. "I fucking knew it!" He shouted. Nam-gyu was confused. He could hear a slight smile in his voice.
Nam-gyu looked up, blinking away his tears. His suspicions were confirmed. Thanos was fucking smiling. Before he could react, Thanos was shoving the phone into Nam-gyu hoodie pocket.
"Now I have a reason to break up with her!" Thanos's hand moved back to Nam-gyu's shoulder. He started shaking him softly, still grinning like a madman, inches away from Nam-gyu's face. "You're a genius, Nam-su!"
"Are you high again?" It was a simple question, though it still slightly paused Thanos's pandemonium.
"Huh?" Was all Thanos could utter.
"You were freaking out not even a minute ago!" Nam-gyu exclaimed, confused.
Thanos just laughed. "I mean, wouldn't you? But, then it hit me! There was clearly something up!"
"You're so oblivious." Nam-gyu sighed. It had two meanings.
It was when Nam-gyu moved his own arms to grip Thanos's wrists was when he hesitated, slowing his mania.
His smile slowly softened into a calm line on his face as they both looked at eachother. Really looked.
Nam-gyu had beautiful eyes, although dark. He could see his reflection in them. His pupils dilated slightly when they maintained eye contact, his lids gently dropping the tiniest amount. He noticed the small clumps of mascara on Nam-gyu's feathery eyelashes.
Thanos's eyes were the color of the ocean. Nam-gyu wanted to swim in them. Wanted to watch them travel all over his body. Wanted to stare into them every second of the day. This was when Nam-gyu really noticed Thanos's eyeliner. He knew he wore it, of course, but he never really looked at it. It was more of a brown shade and it was drawn perfectly, outlining his beautiful eyes with the smallest wings on the edges. It suited him so well.
Thanos involuntarily licked his lips. Nam-gyu's gaze darted to the sudden movement, his eyes lingering on his lips far longer than neccessary.
One of Thanos's hands moved to gently cup Nam-gyu's chin. Holy shit, Nam-gyu thought he was gonna have an aneurysm. Thanos shifted his feet closer to Nam-gyu's, their shoes touching. His eyes never left Nam-gyu's.
It was when Thanos ever so slightly leaned in, their noses gently touching, that Nam-gyu didn't think he would be able to breathe ever again. His heart was pounding in his ears. Nam-gyu parted his lips as Thanos did the same.
Thanos shifted his head upward, their lips almost touching. It was perfect until Thanos pushed off of Nam-gyu, leaning back against a desk.
"Man, I-" Thanos started in English. He was shaking his head, refusing to meet Nam-gyu's disappointed gaze. "I can't do this."
"Can't do what?" Nam-gyu asked gently, walking towards Thanos until Thanos placed a hand on his chest, stopping him. "I'm sorry, Su-bong..I.." Nam-gyu looked down.
"No, no! It's fine! You-" Thanos stood up again, wanting to put his hands on Nam-gyu, but didn't know where or how. "You didn't do anything wrong. It was me..I ruined it." Thanos confirmed, nodding.
"Su-bong?" Nam-gyu whispered as Thanos cupped his head with his warm, tattooed hands. "is it okay..if...nevermind." Nam-gyu's head stayed down, in embarrassment, fighting againt Thanos's hands.
"No, tell me. It's okay." Thanos reassured Nam-gyu, lifting his head until their eyes locked again.
"Can I- do you-.." Nam-gyu didn't know what to say. He wanted to say so much, to spill his chest to Thanos, to tell him how much he loved and needed him. He just sighed, defeated.
"I.." Nam-gyu was gonna do it. "I...I.." He couldn't do it.
Nam-gyu watched as Thanos leaned in and pressed a kiss against his lips
Nam-gyu gasped into Thanos's mouth, his eyes wide. His heart seemed to be beating at a medically concerning pace.
The kiss was short and sweet. Thanos pulled away, pressing their foreheads together.
Nam-gyu found the strength to speak.
"I'm in love with you."
Thanos smiled aganst Nam-gyu's mouth.
"I've loved you for so long, Su-bong. You have no idea.."
"I think I have some idea."
Nam-gyu laughed. Thanos's hands moved to Nam-gyu's waist as Nam-gyu wrapped his arms around Thanos's neck, allowing himself to be picked up and sat on the desk Thanos was leaning on. Nam-gyu was suddenly grateful for their height difference.
"I love you too." Thanos said. And he meant it, too. That feeling he wished everyone could feel was love. He'd just been too distracted by that bitch Ho-sook to notice it.
Thanos leaned in again, kissing Nam-gyu. Their lips were warm against eachother's. Nam-gyu melted into the kiss, sighing against Thanos's lips. He opened his mouth slightly, allowing Thanos to gently slip his tongue in. A small whimper escaped Nam-gyu's throat. Thanos needed to hear more of that. He tilted his head, pushing his tongue farther.
This was it. Thanos would die happily if it meant he could feel and see this every time he shut his heavy eyelids. It was perfect. The bridge of Nam-gyu's glasses were pressed up against Thanos's nose. He could feel sweater paws tugging on his shoulders. They pulled away, allowing themselves to catch their breath. Thanos looked up at Nam-gyu and immediately smirked. Everything was going his way. He had Nam-gyu's tongue tied.
Nam-gyu leaned forward to rest his head on Thanos's shoulder as he wrapped his legs around Thanos's waist. Thanos moved his hands to hold Nam-gyu's lower back.
"You okay?" Thanos said in between heavy breaths. Nam-gyu nodded in response.
"You've loved me for a while, hm?" Thanos continued talking sweet to Nam-gyu. Nam-gyu just kept nodding.
"That's good. Look at me." Thanos lifted Nam-gyu's head by the hair, causing a sudden jolt of pain and intense pleasure shoot through Nam-gyu's body.
Without warning, Thanos moved his head again, shoving his tongue into Nam-gyu's wet mouth.
The moan that left Nam-gyu's throat was straight from hell. Thanos bit down hard on Nam-gyu's lower lip, forcing a second moan out. Nam-gyu pushed his lips deeper, craving more of that sweet pain.
Nam-gyu shifted, feeling his pants getting tighter. What the hell was that about?
"No, no." Thanos protested, pulling him back. "I wanna feel it."
"Fuck, Su-bong." Nam-gyu whimpered. "I need you."
"I know."
