Chapter Text
Today was a special day. Today was a celebration. Today would change the lives of many. Today..…began with an escape plan!
It was currently night. Two cloaked figures power walked through the streets of Heaven. They had not a single second to loose, they needed to reach the reach their destination quick and without being spotted.
They walked until they reached the very edge of Heaven. The same place from where Adam would assemble his exterminators years earlier. A secluded place, the perfect location to commit their defying act.
One of the figures stepped forward, stretching out his arm to channel his angelic magic.
“Are-are you sure no…no one will know?” Asked the other figure, stammering and breathing heavily.
“Yes I’m sure”
“But-but won’t they notice you’re gone?”
“I got another angel to cover my job. Besides I haven’t gotten a day off in centuries” said the other in an attempt to easy the other’s worries. “And just think of how happy Emily will be to see us.”
“Yeah I bet she will, it’s not the same without here”
“It sure isn’t” the other agreed. “You should back up a bit. I-I’ve never open a portal there before”
The other did as he was told. His comrade inhaled a deep breath and turned his wrist. His hand was engulfed in a strong golden light. And slowly, a golden portal began to take from a few feet in front of them.
“You did it Peter!” Shouted the other figure, walking up to the portal. “I-I guess it’s time to go” he said with a worried voice.
Peter walked to his friend and placed a hand on the other’s shoulder. “Don’t worry, you’re not doing this alone” he said looking at the other sympathetically. They were both scared, after all traveling to a realm you’ve never been to, after only heard horrible things about might not be the smartest thing to do.
Peter shook his head, this wasn’t the time to get cold feet. They were doing this for a reason. They had an invitation and were promised an escort for protection, they would be fine. Peter removed his hand from the other’s shoulder and wrapped it around his weirs instead. “Now come on I haven’t been to a wedding in ages!” he said excitedly as he walked them both thought the portal.

In the blink of an eye they arrived at their destination. The Heaven embassy…or what’s left of it.
After letting the portal fade away, Peter released the other’s wrist and took a few steps around the room they now found themselves in. It was the main entrance of the Embassy, and it looked like any other plain hall you’d find in Heaven. White walls with golden detailings, large stained glass windows, blue tiled floors. The only difference really was the view of the outside. Peter walked up to one of the windows. He couldn’t see much of the landscape but the bright red sky was all he needed for it all to sink it, he was in Hell.
He looked over his shoulder to his companion who hadn’t moved an inch since they arrived. “I know it must be weird for you to be here, Abel, if you want I can make a portal back to Heaven” he said, giving his friend-who looked very uncomfortable- a way out.
Abel shook his head “N-no, there’s no need, I’ll be fine. It’s just… I’ve always heard terrible things about this place, especially from my dad. So being here for a wedding of all things is….”
“Unsettling” Peter cut him off
“Yeah” Abel quickly responded
“Dont worry, it’s weird for all of us at first” a third voice chimed in.
Peter and Abel both jumped in surprise from the sudden voice, and turned their heads to be meet with….Vaggie.
They were both so distracted that they didn’t notice Vaggie had opened the door to the embassy. She stood at the door in short gown, perfect for the occasion. And of course carrying her spear in one hand.
“Good to see you again Vaggie” Peter said walking up to greet her. Abel following right behind him. “Are we on time?” he asked.
“Yes you’re right on time” she responded. It was currently past midnight. And while Heaven had been dead quiet with almost all residents asleep, making it easier for Peter and Abel to leave undetected. The streets of Hell were very much alive, this would make it difficult for the angels to go undetected by prying eyes. “Don’t worry I’ll get you to the palace safely. Charlie is there with everyone else getting things set up for the big wedding day tomorrow.” Vaggie explained.
“Is the spear really necessary?” Abel asked
Vaggie snorted “Well…” she began “probably not considering that all the most powerful entities will be gathered at the palace today. You’d have to be really stupid to try anything and hope to make it out alive.”
“Oh-oh okay” he said nervously with a worried smile on his face.
Vaggie turned on her heal and gestured for them to follow shutting the door behind them. Vaggie brought a hand up to the necklace she was wearing, in the center sat a small crystal. She grabbed onto the crystal and rubbed it with her fingers. Abel and Peter exchanged a look, the question on their minds the exact same….what is she doing?
Their question was short lived as suddenly another portal was opened in front of them. Vaggie looked at the portal and then to the two angles beside her. Spotting the confusion on their faces she began to explain “this is an Asmodian crystal” she gestured to the crystal around her neck “they allow for easy transportation around hell. It’s Charlie’s but she let me borrow it to come get you guys.”
They seemed satisfied with that and both immediately relaxed. Probably a good thing that Vaggie forgot to mention that these crystals are mostly used for earth travel not really travel within Hell, but Heaven doesn’t really need to know about it.
“Also I think you can ditch the cloaks now” said unamused.
Peter looked down “Oh right” he said, quickly removing his cloak to reveal the blue suit he wore underneath. It was a light shade of blue with golden accents, similar to his usual outfit but more formal. His usual salmon bow tie now replaced by a tie of the same color.
Able quickly did the same, removing his cloak. He wore a white suit with orange and golden accents, with a feather -similar to the one he wore on his usual hat- stuffed into the breast pocket of his suit.
“Okay now we’re ready, please Vaggie, lead the way” Peter gestured to the portal.
Vaggie gave them a simple smile and walked into the portal with both men trailing behind her.

After going through their second portal of the day, Peter and Abel now stood at the front of the Morningstar mansion.
Vaggie led them through the front door and inside the manor. They were greeted by make red walls with wallpaper with patters filled with snakes and apples. That checks out, Peter thought in his head looking at the walls.
Meanwhile, Abel was simply taking in everything that surrounded him. He took special notice at all the paintings on the walls. Portraits of the Morningstar family, several paintings of Lucifer and his daughter as a child. I never got a portrait with my father, Abel said to himself
He continued admiring the painting hung on the walls, a painting Charlie and Vaggie, a painting the reopening of the hotel, a portrait of Charlie and her friends -in which Emily was also in- and multiple paintings of the King of Hell with his finance.
He was brought back to reality when he heard a squeal and saw Charlie in front of them.
“Oh my gosh, oh my gosh. Peter, Abel I’m so glad you could make it. Emily will be thrilled to see you both” she said pulling them both into a tight hug. After a moment both angels moved to reciprocate the hug until Charlie finally pulled away.
She turned to her girlfriend “And Vaggie, we still have so much to do. I’m so nervous, and excited. I feel like I’m gonna thrown. And I can’t wait for everyone to get here but I still need to get the tables ready….”
“CHARLIE” Vaggie cut her off before she continued to spiral. She took both to Charlie’s hands “It’s gonna be okay babe, you have all of us here to help you. And I’m sure their gonna love tomorrow regardless of how perfect it is”
Charlie seemed to relax a little “I know, I know it’s just…it’s not everyday your dad gets remarried. And this is my first time both planning a wedding” she finished pulling Vaggie into a tight hug.
They hugged for a long time, until they both remembered they weren’t alone.
“Okay so” Charlie began pulling herself back together “we have a room set up for you both. You must be tired, and I want everyone well rested for the celebrations tomorrow. So let me show you to your room”
They walked through a few more corridors until they reached one of many lined red doors.
“Alright so this is your room” Charlie began pulling a key out of her pocket. “You’ll stay here for the night and we’ll call you for breakfast tomorrow.”
The two angels looked inside the room before walking in. It wasn’t that big but was very cozy. It had a two large beds for them to sleep on, a nice bathroom for them to share, a table with some water and cookies that Charlie had prepared for them, and a window that overlooked the castle garden. Charlie had thought it’d be better to give them a few of the gardens her dad had made rather than a view of the Pentagram City’s landscape, as to not scare them too much. She wanted them to be comfortable here, they were her guests even if they weren’t at the hotel.
“Have a good night and I’ll see you guys tomorrow” she waved at them before closing the door.
Peter and Abel looked at each other before dropping onto their beds. They were indeed very tired, after spending all day working while also counting down the hours until their little excursion. And the adrenaline from leaving Heaven during the night as if they were robbers leaving a crime scene finally dying down, they were exhausted and didn’t need to be told twice to go to sleep.
They were still unsure if going down to Hell for a wedding had been a good decision. But they would deal with the consequences later, for now they allowed sleep to overtake them.

In the palace’s other rooms many others were resting for the big day ahead of them. Except for some of them…….
Vaggie was having a hard time getting Charlie to calm down enough to actually get some rest.
The night was also mostly sleepless for both grooms……..
