Chapter Text
Today marks the first day of classes at the Hanguk High School in the city of Seoul, all the students are going thought the principal door to enter the building, and there they were Jiwoo and Sooyoung, best friends for all their life, running so they won't be late, with Sooyoung first and Jiwoo behind her holding her hand so they can run at the same speed.
"Wait Sooyoung! You're going very fast" - Jiwoo says while they're almost getting into the principal door.
"Oh cmon it's not that fast" - Sooyoung answers to Jiwoo.
Finally they go through the door, going across the school building to get to their classroom, that will be the one they will use for the rest of the year.
"Can we sit in the middle row please?" - Jiwoo asks with her cute tone of voice to Sooyoung.
"Well, you know I prefer the last row but I will make an exception only for you" - Sooyoung reply's to Jiwoo winking her eyes but in a funny way.
Jiwoo and Sooyoung they both settle into their desks, putting their backpacks behind their chairs, Jiwoo having a pink backpack full of pins of different pop singers and anime girls, while Sooyoung has a plain black backpack decorated by patch's of her favorites indies bands.
While Sooyoung is on her phone just scrolling thought different apps, Jiwoo is looking around the classroom, seeing if they will have new classmates, she looks at the last row, last seat of the row next to the window, and she whispers to Sooyoung.
"Oh no another year with her" - Jiwoo whispers pointing with her view to Jungeun.
"Hm, maybe if you don't mess with her, although she is really pretty" - Sooyoung also whispers to Jiwoo looking at Jungeun.
"What she have for pretty she have it for mean" - Jiwoo whispers while now changes her view to the first row.
Meanwhile in the last row, Jungeun was watching through the window, with her headphones connected listening to 80s rock songs, as she notices that front of her is sitting Hyeju, thinking of how that girl is really popular inside the school because of her looks, but she doesn't talk to anybody, somehow they're really similar.
Hyeju after sitting and settling into her desk, rested her head quickly on top of one of the books the class will use this year, and in minutes she ended up sleeping, with Jungeun behind her thinking it was some kind of cute act.
In that moment two new girls came to the classroom, sitting in the first row, they were already friends and they got transferred to this class together, they're names are Hyunjin and Kahei, the last one being an exchange study from Hong Kong.
After some minutes the math teacher came to the classroom, starting the first class, with Jiwoo and Sooyoung paying attention, Jungeun in her phone, Hyeju still sleeping and Hyunjin trying to understand the calculations with Kahei helping her.
The teacher notices Hyeju sleeping peacefully in the back - "The girl sleeping, come to the blackboard" - She shouted directly to Hyeju direction.
Hyeju wakes up in just seconds, quietly going to the blackboard, doing the complicated math exercise on the board, which turns out she did it correctly, surprising not only the teacher but all her classmates, after that she just goes back to her desk to continue her sleep time.
"Woah, she's really good" - Jiwoo whispers to Sooyoung admiring Hyeju.
"Pretty too" - Sooyoung answers to Jiwoo also whispering.
After the almost two hours the class finally ends, which leads the first break, Jiwoo and Sooyoung stays in the classroom just chatting with other classmates, while a small group of boys and girls from different classes wants to talk with Hyeju, but she ignores them.
"All of you are so annoying" - Jungeun exclaims still sitting in the desk behind Hyeju while playing with her phone.
"Oh you shut up" - One of the boys says to Jungeun in an angry way.
"Yeah you're jealous" - Other random girl adds.
"Pff" - Jungeun express and then releases a laugh.
In that moment Hyeju stands up from her seat, going directly to the rooftop of the school, while still the group of people follows her all the way there.
While Jiwoo and Sooyoung are still chatting with their friends, Sooyoung looks away to the first row, she notices Hyunjin and Kahei, but her gaze is totally concentred in Kahei, realizing how beautiful and cute she is, Sooyoung couldn't look to other way, feeling like she fallen in love full way with Kahei.
Jiwoo immediately notices how Sooyoung wasn't paying attention at all, looks at her and then look where she was looking, it was to the new girl Kahei, while she was laughing and chatting with her friend Hyunjin, Jiwoo smiles fade away quickly knowing that when her best friend Sooyoung falls in love she really means it.
After that the second class of the day, a boring English class, everybody was about to fall asleep of how boring it was, finishing it Jiwoo and Sooyoung decides to go to the library of school, they're favorite place, one of the reasons it's because there isn't many people, it's really peaceful to go there for them.
Hyunjin and Kahei are also leaving the classroom while they go through different ways, Hyunjin to one of the school gardens and Kahei to the library to find a book she wanted to read since a lot of time ago.
As Kahei went inside the library she stands in one of the shelf that were divide by the genre of the book she's looking for, without noticing that next to her was Sooyoung also looking for a book.
Sooyoung just looks next to her, seeing Kahei, smiling and just appreciating her beauty, but not trying to make it look very obvious, intercalating her view between Kahei and the books in front of her, but just behind the shelf there was Jiwoo reading a random book, as she looks up see through the shelf empty spaces, Sooyoung smiling looking next to her, where it was Kahei looking at the books.
Some minutes later Kahei founds the book she wanted, taking it with her, leaving the library and meeting up with Hyunjin on the second floor to go back to the classroom, as they were walking, Jungeun appears also walking in front of them, Hyunjin and Kahei were laughing and talking while reading the book Kahei taken from the library without noticing anyone else, just in that moment, Jungeun and Kahei collides.
"Sorry" - Kahei says shyly looking at Jungeun.
Jungeun rolls her eyes looking at Kahei and Hyunjin with a mean stare and then going back to walking.
"What's her problem?" - Hyunjin says while picking up the book that has fallen.
"Oh...I feel bad for pushing her" - Kahei answers looking at how Jungeun was walking.
"Hm but it's not your fault" - Hyunjin says while they're started to go in direction to the classroom again.
Before the last break of the day finishes Hyeju was with her headphones, on the rooftop, just listening to some of her music looking at the sky, as she puts her view down, again there were a group of five persons, with one of the them holding a box of chocolates trying to give them to Hyeju as a gift, but she just looks at them without any expression and leaves the rooftop.
After finishing the main classes of the day, it was time for the gym class, the students arrived to the gymnasium, with the gym teacher waiting for them.
"Now, we're gonna make a group of five that will play a basketball match" - The teacher exclaims - "The group will be conformed by Jiwoo, Sooyoung, Hyeju, Jungeun and Hyunjin, the rest wait and watch the match in the stands" - she added while the five girls came to the middle of the gymnasium where is the basketball court.
Kahei sits in the first row of the stand cheering for Hyunjin, while the girls started her match, they will be passing the ball and trying to score a goal, the first one to toss the ball into basketball hoop was Hyunjin celebrating while going to the stands and make a hi five with Kahei.
The whole time Sooyoung was trying to exchange glances with Kahei, but she was actually looking at Jungeun, while Jiwoo scores a goal celebrating with Sooyoung doing also a hi five, then at last Jungeun makes the last goal, in that moment Kahei stars clapping and smiling.
Before finishing the match, Sooyoung looks at Kahei, she starts to smile thinking finally they're exchanging glances, but then Sooyoung looks in front of her, Kahei was just smiling and seeing only Jungeun, while Jiwoo notices how Sooyoung smiles starts to fade away.
