Work Text:
1)
Artemis was at Holly's apartment, not a situation he would want to be in but mother had grounded him for making a laser pointer for the twins. It wasn't dangerous, but apparently it was distracting for the twins to play with it. Obviously what he did to escape was to go to Holly’s place so he could actually do his job, and due to it being a weekend Holly was sitting on the couch next to Artemis watching tv.
Artemis stopped typing for a second and grabbed an energy drink from his bag. He quickly drank it, then placed it on the coffee table where there was already a large pile. He didn't look away from his work. Holly looked over concerned and finally spoke up, “Never thought you'd drink energy drinks Arty?”
He didn't stop typing but calmly replied, ”I drink them when I'm busy.”
“Too busy to get coffee?”
“While I'm working,” he specified.
“What even are your work hours?”
Artemis stopped typing and looked up, “Are you going to continue bugging me, or can I work in peace?”
She dropped the subject.

Artemis has allowed Foaly to have some security cameras in the fowl manner, just in case of emergencies. That said, Foaly decided to check in on Artemis, obviously he was in the study. checking in on how long he had been in there, had supplied that he had been working for at least a day. Foaly opened his emails and sent one to Artemis
X
To: Artemis Fowl
From: Foaly
Mud boy,
You should take a break, when was the last time you ate? Go get a drink
-Foaly

Artemis rolled his eyes ignoring his questions and reached for one of the cold cups of coffee on his desk. He drank it in one go then reached for another. Another email quickly was sent
X
To: Artemis Fowl
From: Foaly
Artemis,
Are you good? How much coffee have you even drank?
X
Artemis smirked as he finished the last cup, there were only eight empty cups on his desk. Foaly didn't need to know about his slight caffeine addiction, he wasn't even jittery yet. He stacked the cups next to his desk on the floor to get them out the way.
He spoke, “Foaly it is hypocritical for you to tell me that I have been working too long, when you are obviously working over hours for you to be messaging me at this time, and anyways you can just call me”
Foaly appeared on Artemis’ monitor, “So mud boy tell me why haven't you left your study, are you still grounded or something?” He chuckled, he must have found out that Artemis had been grounded last week.
Artemis grabbed a red bull from the desk draw and chugged it,
“was that an energy drink-”
“-I'm busy Foaly, I'm working on something for a client. It's important; for a business partner in the underworld. Crime- not the people.”
“-no but you just drank an energy drink? WAIT! Wasn't your immune system basically reset? Due to the clone. Doesn't that mean you have to build a resistance to caffeine?”
“Yes I rebuilt my immunity. yes my immune system is horrific, always was so it's not that different.
Seriously give me a couple hours and I'll go eat and go to bed”
“Fine, hurry up though”

“Mud boy I'm boredddd,” Mulch whined. Artemis rolled his eyes and sighed, moving his beaker off the bunsen burner and pouring the green liquid into an evaporating basin. He turned to Mulch, “if you're so bored would you like to go get me some coffee?” It was more of an order than a question. Mulch walked out of the lab muttering something about being a servant.
20 minutes later he walked back empty handed muttering, “and I made fun of you for not being able to make a sandwich, how the HELL do you make coffee?”
Artemis already had a cup of coffee in his hands and took a sip before asking, “where did you go? There's a coffee machine in the library, next door.
“What was the point of making me go to the kitchen then?”
“I didn't mean for you to go to the kitchen, I presumed that you would know the layout of my house at this point. Anyway it at least got you to leave me alone for a while”
“Why would you have one in the library? How much coffee do you drink to have multiple coffee machines?”
