Reid Family Home
Emma was at home, wrapping Christmas presents for her family. It was a tradition she cherished, one Spencer had come to appreciate as well. Ever since they’d met, Emma had made sure to call her mother twice a week, maintaining a strong connection with her family. Emma smiled, remembering Spencer’s Valentine’s Day proposal by their favorite lake. Her family adored him, and she was blissfully happy.
She didn’t hear Spencer arrive. He came up behind her as she wrapped gifts, placing his hands gently on her shoulders. “Missed you so much, princess,” he murmured.
Emma turned, a smile lighting up her face. “I missed you too.” He cupped her cheek and kissed her lovingly.
Pulling her close, Spencer held her tightly. He cherished their life together. Emma rested her hand on his chest, feeling safe and loved. They shared a soft kiss, a silent promise of their future. A few months prior, they’d decided to try for a baby. Emma hoped with all her heart that they would soon be parents. Spencer held her closer, knowing how precious she was to him.
A day or so later, Spencer had to leave for a case in Aspen. He missed Emma terribly. He smiled, remembering their wedding in Aspen three years earlier. He’d managed to keep their marriage a secret from the team, a secret he guarded fiercely. He longed to be back home with her.
After three days, the team apprehended the unsub. Spencer picked up a white teddy bear with a red heart, a gift for Emma. He couldn’t wait to be home.
Back in his hotel room, Spencer packed his bag, carefully placing the teddy bear inside. He called Emma to tell her he was heading to the jet. “I miss you so much,” she whispered.
“I miss you more,” he replied, knowing exactly what she meant.
When he met up with the team, they noticed his eagerness to return home. Spencer brushed off their questions, determined to keep his marriage a secret for as long as possible. As soon as they landed in Quantico, he drove straight home to Emma.
He set his bag down and presented Emma with the teddy bear. She beamed, and they shared a tender kiss. He held her close, kissing her shoulder.
They spent the evening in each other’s arms, reveling in their reunion.
Week Before Christmas
At the BAU, JJ asked about Christmas plans. Spencer told her he was going to see his mother. He knew his mom would be in Aspen with Emma’s family. It was a special time for them both. He left the BAU, eager to get home to Emma, excited to spend the holidays with her in Aspen. He still enjoyed the secret of their marriage.
Christmas Day, Spencer's Surprise
Spencer woke to find Emma sleeping on his chest. He traced the line of her arm with his finger, his love for her overflowing. She stirred and opened her eyes, meeting his soft smile. He kissed her gently.
Emma went to the bathroom to finalize Spencer's Christmas gift. She was nervous about his reaction, but hoped it would bring him joy. She joined her family and Spencer by the Christmas tree, handing him his present with a nervous smile. She asked him to meet her in the backyard after he opened it.
Spencer unwrapped the gift and was overcome with emotion. Inside was confirmation: Emma was twelve weeks pregnant. He rushed outside to Emma, wrapping his arms around her. “I’m so happy we’re having a baby,” he said, his voice thick with emotion. “I love you and our unborn child so much.”
“I love you both too,” Emma replied, relieved by his reaction. “I was so nervous to tell you. I’m so excited for this next chapter.”
Spencer kissed her shoulder and placed his hands over her barely visible bump. He was going to be a father.
They went back inside and shared the news with their families. Everyone was overjoyed. Spencer held Emma close, his heart full.
Later, alone, they snuggled together, Spencer’s hand resting protectively on her stomach. They shared a loving kiss. He knew Emma glowed with pregnancy. He cherished her gentleness and their marriage.
He knew how lucky he was to have Emma in his life. As they lay in bed, he thought about their future and meeting their child in six months.
Emma snuggled closer, feeling safe and loved. They shared a soft kiss. She knew they had a bright future ahead of them.
