Notes:

Hello! This is the big project I was working on. I’m still in a big in progress with this so do not expect this to be updated anytime soon if at all in the next few months. Make sure to check the notes as there will be vital information regarding the fic that the tags can’t explain enough in detail. This is an extremely complicated story that may be a little difficult to understand without knowing about the game Omori (so go learn about that first if you haven’t). However there are no Omori characters directly technically? So this is not considered a crossover. Again, this is going to be extremely slow with updates, and I wanted to post something for the Undertale Yellow anniversary on here!! There’s not much to say about this particular chapter so enjoy the preview!

Chapter 1: A Safe Place

Chapter Text

Welcome to WHITESPACE…

You have been living here for as long as you can remember.

The place was calm and relaxing; no troubles were there at all. There was simply white everywhere, with no walls or ceiling. Except for what lied in the middle. There, he stood. A man with no expression. He wore a black hat with a white line in the middle that cast a shadow over his eyes. He also wore a poncho with an intricate design on it. A bandana was wrapped around his neck, he had pants with lines, and simple black boots with no absolutely uniqueness to them. A badge rested on the left side of his poncho that seemed like it would stare back at anyone who dared to look at it. His head was a pale white, shaped like a star, with black filled in on the points. As one could notice, this man was completely monochrome with black and white. Oddly, it matched the theme of this particular place. But despite the depressing look on the outside, he looked like he was ready to embark on any western related adventure.

Surrounding him in a square were some things that’d been placed accordingly. In one corner, a candle with a black flame was burning for what seemed like an eternity. The monochrome cowboy dared not to go near it. Some… negative connotations arose around it. Despite that however, everything was still completely safe.

In the corner next to that one, there was simply a box of tissues to wipe someone’s sorrows away. But who’s sorrows? Nothing bad could ever take place here. Maybe it was also a place to make people feel better and safe.

In the adjacent corner lied a photo album. The man walked over to pick it up and he browsed through the photos for a few brief moments. He usually did this every single time he was present in this place. All he would do was just admire them. These pictures consisted of some interesting photography. It looked peaceful… if you looked at it from a distance and at an angle. The photos were hard to make something out of; they all looked distorted and creepy. It was nothing to worry about however; it was just one of those unsolved mysteries! The man already presented himself to be a mysterious person so it was completely normal.

After a little more gazing, the cowboy put the album back on the ground and turned to look at the last thing in the square. Letters. Some letters were stacked in a messy pile. One of the things this person did was consistently write to himself in these letters. Mostly about his friends.

Ah, his friends. Those were some people he adored very much, and would spend time with every single day. The people who’d look out for him, play with him, care for him. It was really nice; despite his seemingly blank expression, he was content. The man in the middle of the room couldn’t have wished for anything else. As long as he didn’t look at that candle.

There was something else in the room too; presenting outside of the square. A white door that cast a faint shadow. This door led to many things, but all of them did involve his beloved friends. Every day was a blast for him, and every day was the same. Nothing has changed, and nothing will ever change. He’ll keep up with his roleplay of being the proud fine...

…Ordinary cowboy.

That’s right, a regular western-loving cowboy, not a leader, not a deputy, not a sheriff. Just some guy who liked to play pretend. He’d wonder what adventure he would go on today. Probably the same thing as always, just how he liked it. How he always liked it.

The man sighed once more and walked over to the door; still keeping his signature expression. He stared at it for a few moments before placing his hand on the handle. A cold breeze swept through the air when he placed his hand on the tangible door handle. The cowboy glanced behind him, but the only thing he noticed was the black flame on the candle still burning. There wasn’t even light radiating off of it. He guessed maybe Something was off… though he always had this assumption every time. There wasn’t anything to be concerned about. He was safe , everyone was safe . Everyone, especially him, was protected. This was his life, and he appreciated everything about it. He would never change a single thing. His life would remain the same forever.

So with those thoughts in mind, he opened the white door.
