Elzar Mann's fingers drummed rhythmically against the Vector's control panel, his gaze drifting across the cavernous hangar of the Ataraxia. The Vector was a sleek one-seater ship, meant for nimble maneuvering, not hyperspace travel. It was the perfect place for some much-needed solitude, especially when trying to avoid a droid like JJ-5145, who seemed intent on following up on every single Council duty.
He exhaled, attempting to meditate, to clear his mind of the responsibilities that weighed on him. He needed a break, just for a moment, from being Master Elzar Mann. Closing his eyes, he tried to focus, letting the Force envelop him. But something else intruded, a soft note—a melody that reached out to him.
Avar Kriss.
He felt her through the Force, her presence a bright, golden note that resonated with his very core. She was searching for him, and she knew exactly how to find him. A smile tugged at his lips as he echoed her melody, a playful response, letting her know where he was hiding.
Avar moved quietly through the vast hangar, her eyes scanning the rows of Vectors and other starfighters. She followed the gentle echo of Elzar's song in the Force, her connection to him guiding her through the dimly lit space. She finally spotted him, lounging in his Vector, looking as if he didn't have a care in the galaxy.
She approached the Vector, her eyes narrowing with a mixture of amusement and exasperation. Elzar opened his eyes just in time to see her climbing up onto the side of the ship, her golden hair glowing faintly in the dim light of the hangar.
“You’re hiding,” she said, her voice holding a hint of laughter.
Elzar grinned, leaning back in his seat. “I prefer to think of it as meditating. JJ has been relentless today.”
Avar shook her head, a smile tugging at her lips. “The Council asked me to find you. They want a report, Master Mann.”
Elzar grinned, raising an eyebrow. “Master Mann, is it? I could get used to that.”
Avar laughed, shaking her head. “Don’t push it, El. You’re lucky if I don’t just call you ‘scoundrel’ after making me hunt you down.”
Elzar sighed dramatically, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “And here I thought I could steal a few moments of peace.” He reached out through the Force, his presence brushing against hers, warm and inviting. “Join me?”
Avar hesitated, her eyes narrowing slightly as she looked at him. She could feel the weight of the Council's request, the responsibility that came with being Master Kriss, but the warmth of Elzar's presence was hard to resist. She sighed internally, torn between her duty and the pull she felt towards him. It wasn't that she didn't want to join him—she did, deeply—but part of her still wanted to keep everything in its rightful place. However, the playful spark in his eyes, the way he reached out through the Force, made her resistance waver. In the end, her need for this connection outweighed her hesitations.
Avar hesitated for only a moment before climbing fully into the Vector. It was an even tighter fit now that they were both full-grown adults, their bodies much bigger than when they were young Padawans. The cockpit was barely large enough for one, let alone two, and she could feel the press of Elzar's chest against her back, their legs tangled awkwardly together. The heat of his breath on her neck and the closeness of their bodies made the space feel even more cramped, the tension between them palpable. Every shift, every movement brought them closer, the friction of their robes and the warmth of their skin making her heart race. She settled herself over him, her legs on either side of his, her body pressing against his. Elzar’s arms wrapped around her instinctively, holding her close.
“For old times’ sake?” she asked, her voice soft, her breath warm against his ear, her eyes filled with both amusement and longing as she tilted her head slightly, her lips curving into a teasing smile.
Elzar’s heart pounded as he looked up at her, the familiar spark igniting between them. He grinned, his voice full of mischief. “You know, we could get in a lot of trouble for this. Master Kriss, do you really think this is the proper use of a Vector?”
Avar rolled her eyes, a smirk playing on her lips. “You really think you’re going to charm your way into this, don’t you?”
He shrugged, leaning closer, his breath brushing against her neck. “It always worked before.”
Avar laughed, though she shook her head. “This is a terrible idea, El. What if someone walks in?”
“Then we'd have to go live as Wayseekers together,” he whispered, his lips grazing her ear as his hands moved to her waist, pulling her closer.
Avar shivered, her resolve weakening as his lips began to travel along her neck, soft kisses trailing down to her collarbone. She could feel her determination slipping away, the weight of her responsibilities fading as the warmth of his touch spread through her. Part of her knew this was reckless, that they shouldn't be doing this here, but another part of her, the part that yearned for him, couldn't resist. She wanted this—wanted him—and no duty or consequence seemed to matter in this moment. She tried to maintain her composure, but his touch was electric, and she found herself leaning into him despite her protests.
“Elzar…” she began, but her words were cut off as he nibbled at her earlobe, his hands sliding up her back. “You are impossible,” she said, her voice half-exasperated, half-laughing.
He pulled back just enough so their noses were nearly touching, his eyes locked on hers. “Impossible? Or irresistible?” he teased.
Avar narrowed her eyes, her lips parting as if to retort, but before she could get the words out, Elzar captured her lips in a deep, searing kiss. The protest died on her tongue, replaced by a needy moan as she gave in, her hands slipping into his hair.
And just like that, they were off to the races.
Elzar nodded, his hands trembling slightly as they moved to undo the fastenings of her robes. Avar shifted, helping him, her robes falling away to reveal her bare skin beneath. She was beautiful, her body glowing faintly in the dim light, her eyes dark with desire.
She leaned down, kissing him again, her body pressing against his as she settled herself over him. Elzar’s hands roamed over her, feeling the smoothness of her skin, the gentle curve of her waist, the softness of her breasts. His heart pounded, his breath hitching as he realized just how much he needed her, how much he wanted this.
Avar’s hands moved to his trousers, her fingers making quick work of them until he was as exposed as she was. She looked down at him, her eyes widening slightly, and a smile spread across her face. "Force, El... I want this. I want you," she breathed, her voice thick with desire. She positioned herself over him, her body trembling with anticipation. For a moment, she paused, looking into his eyes, and Elzar saw everything there—her love, her desire, her trust. It took his breath away.
Slowly, Avar lowered herself onto him, both of them gasping as they came together. Elzar’s hands gripped her hips, guiding her, helping her find a rhythm. Avar reached over and lowered the cockpit hood, the glass sealing them in for privacy with a soft mechanical hiss. The enclosed space grew even smaller, the click of the hood locking into place heightening the sense of being cut off from the rest of the galaxy. The confined space began to heat up quickly, their combined body heat causing the glass to steam, the warm air making their breaths more shallow. She braced herself against the sides of the Vector’s cockpit, her movements slow at first, her eyes never leaving his.
The hangar around them seemed to fade away, the only sounds the soft rustle of their movements, their ragged breaths, the quiet hum of the Ataraxia’s systems in the background. The warmth inside the cockpit grew, the glass slowly fogging as they moved together. Elzar’s world narrowed to this moment—Avar’s body moving over his, her warmth, her scent, the way her eyes darkened with pleasure. He remembered their first time together, the nervousness, the excitement. But now there was no hesitation, only need, only love.
Avar’s pace quickened, her breath coming in short gasps as she lost herself in the feeling. Elzar leaned forward, his lips finding her neck, his tongue tracing the line of her pulse. She moaned softly, her hands moving to tangle in his hair, her hips rocking against his in a steady rhythm.
“El,” she whispered, her voice breathless. “Do you remember that night in the Vector? When we thought we’d get caught?”
Elzar smiled against her skin, his hands tightening on her hips. “How could I forget?” he murmured, his voice rough with arousal. “You were so mad at me for dragging you into that mess… and then you kissed me, right here, just like this.”
Avar laughed, the sound breathless and filled with pleasure. “And you couldn’t stop smiling,” she said, her eyes opening to meet his. “Even when we heard the patrol droids coming, you just kept smiling.”
Elzar chuckled, his lips brushing against her ear. “Because I knew that no matter what happened, I had you. And that made it all worth it.”
Avar’s movements grew more frantic, her breath coming in short gasps as she neared her climax. Elzar could feel her body tightening around him, the tension building between them like a coiled spring. He thrust up to meet her, his own release approaching, his mind consumed by the feeling of her, the closeness of her.
“Avar,” he whispered, his voice barely audible over the sound of their bodies moving together. “I love you.”
Avar’s eyes met his, her gaze softening even as her body trembled. Her face flushed, her lips parted, and her breath caught in her throat. “I love you too, El,” she whispered back, her voice breaking as she reached her peak. Her entire body tensed, then shuddered around him, her nails digging into his shoulders as waves of pleasure rolled through her.
Elzar watched her, mesmerized by the beauty of her climax. He felt her walls tightening, squeezing him, and it was enough to send him over the edge. He groaned, his hands gripping her hips tightly as his release rushed through him, his entire body trembling. His vision blurred, his mind going blank with nothing but pure pleasure, a heat radiating from his core that seemed to engulf every part of him. For a moment, there was nothing but the two of them, together, in the dimly lit hangar, their hearts pounding in unison.
Avar collapsed against him, her head resting on his shoulder, her breath warm and rapid against his neck. Elzar held her close, his heart still racing, their bodies still trembling from the intensity of it all. He closed his eyes, letting the moment wash over him, savoring the connection between them, the bond that had always been there, growing stronger and more profound with each passing day.
“Do you think they’ll notice we’re gone?” Avar asked after a while, her voice sleepy, content.
Elzar smiled, his hands running up and down her back. “Probably. But by then, we’ll be back, and they’ll be none the wiser.”
Avar lifted her head, looking down at him with a smile. “You always were a scoundrel, Elzar Mann.”
Elzar grinned, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “And you always loved it.”
Avar laughed, the sound echoing through the hangar. She leaned down, kissing him softly, her lips lingering on his. “Yes, I do.”
As they caught their breath, Avar slowly lifted her hand, and with a subtle gesture, she began to draw the symbol of the Jedi Order in the steamed glass of the cockpit using the Force. Her finger traced the familiar lines, the symbol slowly appearing in the misty condensation. Elzar watched, his gaze softening. He smiled and then, with his own subtle motion, began to draw beside her symbol, creating "their constellation"—the three Firebrands—symbolizing the bond they shared with Stellan. Avar glanced at his drawing, her eyes meeting his, and they both smiled.
For a while longer, they stayed like that—wrapped in each other’s arms, the vastness of the hangar around them fading away until there was only the two of them, together, stealing moments among the stars.
