Chapter Text

Sirius and Regulus stood outside the fire station, mischief practically radiating from them. The late afternoon sun bathed their sly grins as they exchanged a conspiratorial glance. Archive and Lucifer, their Belgian Malinois partners-in-crime, looked equally mischievous, their red and green goggles glinting like trophies of impending chaos.

"Ready to cause some trouble?" Sirius asked, already tugging the zipper of his vest like a countdown to disaster.

"Always," Regulus replied, smirking as Lucifer let out a soft, anticipatory woof.

The duo sauntered into the station like they owned the place. Sirius immediately clocked Eddie Diaz in the back, deep in conversation with some of the crew. But before they could approach, Archive and Lucifer darted off, tails wagging with the velocity of guided missiles.

"Oi!" Sirius called out, but the dogs were on a mission.

Eddie let out a very undignified yelp as Archive gently tugged at his pant leg while Lucifer barked in excited agreement. Eddie spun around, his surprise melting into laughter.

“Really? This is how you say hello now?” Eddie said, crouching to fend off the dual assault of enthusiastic dog kisses.

Sirius and Regulus approached, smugness practically dripping off them. “We taught them that,” Regulus said nonchalantly, brushing invisible lint off his jacket.

The team had started to gather, curious about the commotion, when Buck emerged from the crowd. He locked eyes with Archive, his expression going from amused to devilishly serious. In rapid-fire French, Buck gave a string of commands, and Archive snapped into attention, sitting primly at his feet with a look that screamed, This is my guy now.

Sirius raised an eyebrow. “You’ve been practicing, huh?”

Buck grinned, scratching Archive’s ears. “What can I say? The dog has taste.”

Sirius stepped closer, his smirk softening as Buck leaned in to steal a quick kiss. Around them, the fire station collectively froze, watching the interaction with a mix of surprise and delight.

“You two,” Eddie muttered, shaking his head. “Always putting on a show.”

“And we haven’t even started,” Regulus chimed in, eyeing the food truck parked outside. “How fast do you think we can ‘liberate’ those burgers before anyone notices?”

“Only one way to find out,” Sirius said, already moving toward the exit, Archive and Lucifer trotting alongside like furry accomplices.

As they slipped outside, leaving a trail of laughter and confusion in their wake, Sirius glanced over his shoulder. “Burgers are on us—if you can catch us!”

The sound of Eddie groaning and Buck laughing followed them out, the perfect soundtrack to another day of Black family chaos.
