Ash looked straight at Misty as he defeated his final opponent, Lance, the champion of the Johto and Kanto Region.
He saw that her eyes were filled with excitement as she hugged and screamed alongside his mom. He didn’t care about the title or trophy he’ll gain but seeing her smile gave him the biggest reward and dream he could imagine.
“I couldn’t ask for a better friend,” he thought while waving to her,” Now I just gotta ask her if she’ll be my girlfriend.”

May shook Drew’s hand as he had ultimately defeated her for the title of Champion of Hoenn for the Grand Festival. He held on to her hand longer than she had expected and later that night on the beach. He had a bouquet of roses awaiting her. There he asked her if she would be his girlfriend. In delight, she shook her head so much she grew dizzy. Drew couldn’t help but laugh.
“We will never lose this feeling,” they both thought.

Dawn looked shyly at Paul, her travel companion. He had finally opened his gym, replacing Maylene who was retiring. His usual stony face wasn’t in sight but replaced with a smile he only reserved for her. He shuffled his feet as he asked her to be his girlfriend. She quickly agreed, for she had loved him for a few years though she would push it away but his bright smile made her heart pound even more.
“I’ll never stop loving him,” she joyfully thought.

Iris grew used to Trip challenging her. So much so, that she had grown some form of affection for him. She tried shaking it away, calling it childish of her to cling to such a dumb feeling, but time only strengthened it until Trip appeared in a fashion she’d never seen. He held an abundance of letters, each one held a certain scent that reminded her of nature. She opened each one, revealing a love letter. He then admitted that he had written all of these but lost the guts to send them. Iris stared at him, his face didn’t hold the normal courageous and prideful look but looked as if he was going to melt away.
“Dearest, Trip, I accept,” she exclaimed, her face brimming with joy for their future.

Serena knew she was over Ash because as she stared at Clemont whose whole outfit was greasy from the machine he was fixing to tell her something, she only felt a bigger feeling than she ever felt with Ash. So of course she was actually in love with him.
“This won't explode right?” she asked, jokingly, as the memories of his past experiments gone wrong flooded her mind.
“Nope,” Clemont’s muffled voice declared from underneath.
She laughed at him and thought to herself why she never found Clemont attractive during their journey with Ash.
She was torn out of her thoughts as Clemont got the machine to work, revealing five words. She could only stare at it in shock. Looking at Clemont and then the machine, she felt tears streaming down. She discovered Clemont and her lying flat on the ground.
“Yes! Yes! I will be your girlfriend!” she squealed.
She didn’t mind that his greasy hands enveloped her. All she cared about was the bright future they surely would have.

Lyra held Silver’s hand as he was trembling with the news of the disappearance of his father. Even though he was a bad father to Silver, she knew he still had some form of attachment to him. Her heart was breaking for him so without thinking she stepped on her tippy-toes and planted a kiss on his cheek while reassuring everything was going to be fine. She watched as he looked at her in shock then in a brief moment he pushed her towards a wall, exclaiming how she could prove it.
“You have me,” Lyra timidly spoke.
His face grew confused and then Lyra felt Silver slowly put his arms around her waist and his face grew closer. With his mouth near her ear, she could hear his faltering voice,” I hope you’ll stay with me forever,”
She wrapped her arms around him.
“I will always be here no matter what happens,” she whispered, then thought to herself,” he would never do anything reckless.”
